I enjoy my visits to this particular location. Things are always organized and neat... easy to find what I'm looking for and when I ask for suggestions, the young lady at the register is always helpful, sweet and kind. The security always seems to be lurking but I suppose it's because I'm a POC and lately they have to be prepared for theft. How long hasn't this location had a compliment. Since they hired or has franchised over by that Asian lady that works there who come across to me as pestering rude, condescending pushover who hassles you to shop and makes you feel awkward to be there. Maybe that's why the store is empty all the time?? The only people that shops there are the old customer that goes in the shop and knows exactly what they're going to get. I only went in there to grab a sample on a rush of schedule but she had to pester me to write down like a whole form to let me leave with a tiny sample. straight men need to moisturize too. this place has the good stuff in various flavors - verbena, lavendar, milk, green tea et. al. the really good stuff is made with shea butter. the epidermis and dermis are much better off using these products than using the Johnson & Johnson products from Walgreens. most likely due to the quality natural ingredients used in producing these items. The staff here is better trained than most of the other specialty soap and skincare product stores. they actually ask questions BEFORE presenting all the data on the products! read more

I would have given this place 1 star if it weren't for the other helpful, genuinely kind employees. As Kendra S. said, there is this one Asian lady that is the most condescending, rude sales person I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. In fact, it was so bad that I am planning on writing to the management as well as corporate to let them know that as long as she is still working there, I am taking my money elsewhere. First of all, I spend hundreds of dollars a month on skincare and cosmetics anywhere from drugstore products to high end department stores. I am in no way a window shopper who mooches samples. However, this lady refuses to get off my back. I am a new to L'Occitane and the only product I had tried was their best selling hand cream. When I found out about their Facebook fan giveaway, I told my mom and brother as well as a few friends who promptly signed up for the offer as well to get a free hand cream. I went in one weekend on three different occasions with all different people (my plans just happened to work out that way that day) and by the second time, she already got very condescending in her "jokes", asking "Are you sure they're not all for you?" and on the third occasion, she even said "Again? You know you don't have to come in every time. You can just wait outside." Each time after the first time, I just stood there and accompanied my friend/family member, without trying to get another one, yet she would not stop picking at me with her "jokes". When I finally lost it and retaliated, telling her that as a matter of fact, I did NOT receive more than one, she pretended to be kidding, "Don't worry! I was just joking.." I have never met a more disrespectful, condescending, and straight up b****y sales associate in my life. Since then, the company has offered the same giveaway in another form, which was fair and square for me to receive another one of. Yesterday, I walked in and another associate was helping me and my boyfriend redeem the offer. When she came out from the back, she announced to her co-worker that I receive 10% off as a mall employee, but then proceeded to release a barely concealed, fake laughter as she looks at what is on the POS and says "Well, if she sees anything she likes". I will never spend a dime at this store as long as this woman works here, that is how much I am offended by this particular woman. She is unfit to be a sales associate and needs to attend some sort of sensitivity training. read more

J'adore L'Occitane. L'Occitane is just luxury.. When i need pampering this is my go to stop. If only they (like Kiehls) would open a spa. hhhmmm. What makes me a huge fan is the scents of their collections. The Shea Butter/Beurre de Karite, Honey Harvest, & Immortelle. The Immortelle Essential Water for the face has the most delightful scent. Crisp and clean w/floral notes. You'll forget this is a toner. When i need a little pick me after a long day of work this helps. It's also alcohol free. Bonus. For absolute body comforting the Shea Butter line is it. The hand creme, body lotions just sublime. Again the light clean scents just add to it. L'Occitane carries a nice line of Eau de toilette et Eau de Parfums. The different scents are really great but my favourite is the Honey Harvest Gentle Water. This fragrance has no alcohol so it's not listed on their Eau de Toilette or Parfum. Again very light and clean but sweet and noticeable. NICE! I absolutely LOVE Loccitane products. I am hooked! It is so nice there is a Loccitane store in Stonestown. The store always has everything I need. I am sad to see Bruno go, he was so knowledgeable and helpful but per Bruno he is off to greener pastures and has nothing but wonderful things to say about Loccitane. I can't say enough about Loccitane products. They are perfect in every way. They are enviornmentally, animal and human friendly. I was amazed when I heard about all the charity the company does for the blind. All the way from the smallest product to the head CEO you can tell Loccitane really cares. I can not live without the shea butter products they produce. If you think all skin lotions are the same, you have not tried Loccitane. In the normal course of things, I would never have gone into L'Occitane. For one thing, their exterior is too orange. L'Occitane also makes me think of octane for some reason, and I don't like to associate my beauty products with a gas station. But mostly, I'm too cheap. All that changed when my daughter's eczema got really bad and her allergist told us L'Occitane's Mom & Baby Balm (100% shea butter with no preservatives or fragrances) was THE BEST thing for her skin. Now, I would sell my soul for my babies, but to be honest, it took a lot of soul searching before I could open up my wallet and relieve it of $40 for a 4.9oz tin of butter. I finally rationalized, hey, if Nigerian babies are getting this stuff everyday, as they stated in their brochure, I guess I can get it for my diseased kid. The doctor was right, this product is THE BEST. Believe me, we've cut a swathe through the lotion aisle at Walgreen's and even detoured to the cold/allergies aisle with Vick's Vapor Rubs, and this Mom & Baby balm or Baume Maman et Bebe if you want to be fancy, really is THE BEST. It goes on like silk and absolutely has no scent and it has done wonders for my daughter's skin. I have to give props to the sales lady at the Stonestown location. She was so nice and helpful and smiled like she meant it. When she offered me some free samples, I really didn't want any since I couldn't see myself spending that much on anything else in the store, she persuaded me to take some anyway. She gave me four samples, not in those awful packets that you can only use once, but in nice plastic lip balm size containers. I don't know, maybe they do this in all fancy stores? However much I like the staff and products, I can't personally see myself spending $$ there other than for the bebe balm, but that doesn't mean I can't steer friends and relatives there for my birthdays and other gift giving holidays! I'm all for the quality of L'Occitane products. But I just hate their confusing sales tactics. They were having a sale back in February & I decided to buy some Effervescent Sugar Cubes. 3 cubes were packed in plastic & priced at $6. The sale is buy 2, get 1 free. So I bought 2 packages thinking that the 3rd package is free ($6 x 2 = $12 total). I didn't check my receipt till I got home since I bought over $110+ worth of items. When I get home, I noticed that they charged me $3 per cube & gave me every 3rd free in each package. Since there were 9 cubes altogether, they charged me $3 each x 6 so a total of $18. They overcharged $6. I went back to the store to get a credit but they couldn't get my logic & stood by their policy that sale items were non-refundable even though I wasn't asking for a refund but just a credit. I don't appreciate the false advertising. Very bad sales practice. read more

I love this effing place. Their lavendar hand cream is the best I've ever used, smells so good, and the packaging's nice. My other favorite is the lemon verbena stuff. Smells like Froot Loops. L'Occitane is a quite the shop if you want to splurge on bath and beauty products. This is the place to go if you want to treat yourself or want to smell good for the love of your life. It's in a different league than Body Shop or Bath and Body Works. The products that I absolutely love are the shea butter cream, the shower gel, any of the bar soaps and the lip balm. Excellent, excellent products I've owned (and ran out of) a few of their Shea products- hand creme, foot creme, and the soap bar are some of my favorites (I believe they're the best sellers, so I'm not that original) . The store's small, but their products aren't known for variety. When I went in, I was the only customer. Normally I like to shop by myself and spend about an hour hemming and hawing over one product, but as I was the only person shopping there that day, the sales person zoned in on me haha. She was really helpful, really knowledgeable and really, really nice... to the point of being annoying (I like to shop by myself, okay?) But at least she was nice haha. I think they overcharge for their products. You get these 2 inch round soaps and if you don't buy them on sale, they're like 5 bucks a piece. Outrageous. Their Shea products and Ombre rose fragrance are the only things I buy nowadays. I've bought a bunch of stuff over the years and they're not that much better than other stores. I was here when they were having "mini facials." I got hooked on their products when a co-worker had me "like" their product on facebook in order to score a free shea butter hand cream. I ended up buying some stuff from online and was really pissed because they didn't include a $10 gift card as the promo stated (online). So to make it up I decided to take advantage of their skincare event. So, my appointment was for 3:30, I called in advance of maybe 15 minutes and got there before 3:30pm. The clerk tells me that they are running behind, like 30-45 minutes. I'm thinking "Dude, I just called you not long ago, why didn't you tell me, I could've just come later," but me being me, I said "that's cool, I don't have to be anywhere" and hang around walking the mall. I come back and they do the facial thing, ask me what's up with my skin, blah blah blah. When the person actually starts, he seems all giddy, I'm just thinking like Dude calm down but whatever, people are walking in and buying stuff like crazy and there's only him, thus the giddiness, but I'm thinking like why didn't they have more than two people on staff during a "skincare event?" The other person was just taking her lunch and you can tell this place likes to provide good customer service considering the prices of their product. Well anyway, the facial is done and over with and I decide to get some products but man is the store packed! The clerk uses this opportunity to let me "decide" what I want to get so he can help other people. That's cool so I grab what I want, taking my time because I don't want to impose, but wandering the store for another 20 minutes is absurd for me so I just stand in front of the register and sort of "demand" assistance through my presence alone and walk out of L'Occitane 3 hours later. Rachelle was so lovely, friendly, and extremely helpful. She took her time with me showing me different options and helped me stay within my budget, while at the same time getting some special lotion for my mentor.
