Was shopping in store this past week, and on two separate occasions heard two women who I assume are in management, be extremely harsh to an employee. I didn't get the girls name, but she was dressed very nice and was also very knowledgeable about products. I also overheard them whispering together about other employees in the middle of the store. One was named Brandy, and the other I think CC? I'm not sure what these women's roles are, but I was so disappointed with how they treated their employees, that I will not shop here again. The young woman seemed very upset, as well as just a very low energy from everyone else in the store. read more

This Sephora is conveniently located in Fashion Place Mall and is pretty large. I have had good experiences with the assortment of products here, and am always able to flag down staff when I need them. The store is clean despite being pretty busy, and I never feel like I am being chased for sales. Overall, Sephora is pretty expensive, but because this store carries a good assortment of products, there are lower price point items I can find here as well. read more

Wow! I've never been in such a well stocked and well maintained Sephora in my adult life!! I went in to get samples and I've previously been told you can only get 3 samples per visit. Well October hooked me up! She was so sweet and she was more than happy to get me plenty of samples! While we were getting samples Cassie came over to greet guests at the door and joined our conversation. She was so incredibly knowledgeable about makeup she took one look at me and gave me a shade recommendation. We got to talking about brushes and she was telling me about brush science! I was given a $50 Sephora gift card for Christmas. I finally decided to use it today. I checked the balance online this morning just to verify and it had a $50 balance. Then I went to Kohl's which has Sephora products, selected my purchase and went to the register. The clerk told me there was a zero balance on the card. I was shocked and she told me to call customer service (while blatantly eyeing me as if I was a thief). A Sephora customer service rep told me that they've had problems with unauthorized usage of gift cards but they don't anything to replace the missing funds ("we treat a gift card as if it were cash"). They had the info on two scam purchases (one for $34+ and the other for $17) that were placed this morning but wouldn't tell me who made the purchases or where the purchases were sent although she verified that they were placed online this morning. Someone must have scammed the gift card number and pin when I checked the balance this morning (maybe a Sephora employee?) after taking it out of the cardboard wrapper it came in which has been in my possession since Christmas. As an aside, I made four phone calls to Sephora's customer service. Two times I was disconnected and one rep hung up on me. Then Chris, supposedly a supervisor, came on during my fourth attempt and very condescendingly asked how my day was going. I actually asked him if he was for real. All in all, I spent over an hour and a half only to be told that gift cards get used unauthorized online but they choose not to do anything even though they have the info regarding the scam purchases. This location is inside fashion place mall and is so much better than city creek. They have staff here that have product knowledge and know where items are at! Also they have a lot of product in stock which makes it nice. One bad thing is it's crowded all the time and woman are bringing in boyfriends and kids with strollers and it's just a lot of unnecessary people in a store selling mostly female products such as make-up. I like to get in and get out but it's impossible here. It's ok tho worth not having to go to city creek location anymore. read more

got my makeup done on Christmas Eve as a treat after peak season at work (warehouse work) my makeup artist was Cassie. I told her the colors that felt "Christmasy" to me and she took it from there. she showed me the Cranberry style trend. I never really done a monochromatic look before but it looked beautifu, everything looked very sweet and soft. I got so many compliments at our family party. Wish I could give no stars for the customer service. The manager was a brat about a return after another associate sold me on trying a face cream product. I told her that after 30 days it didn't show much improvement, so they suggested I finish using it for the 60 day trial period. When I brought it back, there was a little bit left and they said because I had used more than "about 20%" they wouldn't return it. Don't believe their return policy. It's just a ploy to get you to but whatever they're peddling for the month and they obviously have no intention of standing behind it. read more

I would give this 0 starts If I could - I have been shopping at Sephora for years (I am a VIB Rouge) and have never received such poor customer service. I purchased a steamer before the quarantine and was unable to return it until now - I was sick and then moved cities for a new job so quarantine for additional weeks - and the manager tells me that they can't exchange it because of some arbitrary return window that now exists? I have been shopping at Sephora for years because their generous return policy made me feel safe buying anything. After this experience I will never be buying anything at Sephora ever again. Wow! My opinion of this location changed drastically from my first few minutes in the store. I walked in to the store to see numerous employees standing around and talking to one another with little to no notice of customers or help needs. I found my product and went to find the checkout line wrapping around the store. This was ridiculous to me after seeing how many employees were there standing around and that there were multiple registers open for someone to use. I waited and waited in line. Finally, a lovely girl named Elizabeth offered to check me out through a quick and flawless process with her iPhone. She was willing to offer her assistance and even helped me find another product that I wanted. I was beyond impressed with all of this! Don't go in there with a hoodie or you'll get security following you the entire time. Not sure if he was following my daughter because she spilled soda on her jacket and was cleaning by their sink. I was looking for a facial moisturizer and sure enough the security guy was dancing around that area one row after the other. Went to Charlotte tilbury section, sure enough he showed up again. Sephora has great products but if you actually want someone to help you , go someplace else. I really wanted to update my make up and I was ready to spend the $$$ to do it. When I asked about makeovers, they said I could schedule one for $60 (even if I was willing to buy all of the products ) I practically had to beg just to get someone to help me match the right foundation. They didn't have the color in stock and when it arrived and I put it on, it looked awful. I wanted advice on some other products - concealer, eye shadows, etc and it felt like the salesperson couldn't be bothered. Shopping for make up used to be fun and feel indulgent, not at Sephora. Very disappointing customer service. Store was extremely hot and I waited in line for 20 minutes to exchange a gift I received (only $15 in value) for a gift card to use on another item I liked better and would actually use. The gift was Sephora brand so there was no question where it came from. Staff could not process the return without a receipt so they got the manager who was rude, uncaring, and completely dismissed the situation because I was given the gift over 60 days ago. What a terrible return window for something that was clearly unused and untouched. It would have cost the store NOTHING to let me make an exchange. I'm a big Sephora fan, but do most of my shopping online. That's not to say I don't like the store. It's a lot of fun to browse, and I will occasionally go to get a sample of a particular item I'd like to try (you can sample pretty much any product they have for sale-just ask), or for something that I need right away. This location is not huge, but not tiny. I had a makeover here a month or so ago, and that was a lot of fun. That said, I end up shopping online most of the time simply because the selection is greater. This store is also busy most of the time, and compared to some other locations the sales associates don't seem to be quite as helpful. I don't think they are rude, and this hasn't prevented me from shopping here, but I would probably buy items in store more often if they were a little friendlier. Lastly, just a tip: when checking out ask if they are giving away any samples. There are generally 2 or 3, and while they aren't deluxe samples it's still fun to try something new out! read more

This Sephora was pretty legit, like all other Sephoras. I pretty much think I have a blackout experience every time I walk into one of these stores because I am taken back by how much amazing stuff is in there and then when I leave I don't remember spending $250. It's a problem. BUT! I came here for a return and the return process was smooth and effortless. I simply went up to the counter, told the nice lady my situation, and she was more than happy to help me. I find the people working at Sephora to be really pleasant and friendly and they are always willing to help you. This store was no different. With the high quality makeup products, friendly staff and awesome atmosphere, it's no wonder I keep coming back! read more

This is my favorite Sephora location in UT, but like the others, it always feels like it is picked over and many items appear to be out of stock...but if you find staff and ask they will often find what you are looking for in a drawer...they just are so busy it is hard to restock during business hours. I never leave reviews but I have never been so disgusted. This location is the worst and I feel comfortable stating that because I've worked nearby, in this same mall, for the past 3 years. Yeah... I work retail too! For many years before that as well! I'm not sure if it's the constant turnover or what but there are ZERO nice employees in here. They smile at the front door and once you ask for a sample of something their entire demeanor changes. So two things: 1. I know you see the acne on my face and I'd hate to buy a full size product that's gonna make me break out more just to return it. 2. I work for a large corporation that hands out samples as well and it costs you ZERO dollars to make a sample for your loyal customers! It also cost ZERO dollars to be nice! I attached pictures of the sample I got below.. untouched. It's a moisturizer. On Sephora's website it clearly mentions that their sample containers should give customers 7-10 days worth, to really experience the product. I got two uses out of this because of how little it was filled! I know it's just a free sample... but again, it's completely free to you to show great customer service; and I have horrible skin I'm trying to fix okay? I was not rude, I smiled, I also work retail, I know how this works! The staff here will greet you. HOWEVER, once you start asking questions to find the right products, some of them will try to sneak away. There are some of them are nice but the guy and the makeup artist I talked to kind of wanna sneak away all the time. I guess walking in the store and greeting to the customers are easier. My first time in Sephora was fantastic thanks to Peter. I'm looking for a new fragrance and this man knows his stuff! He educated me on so many fragrances and seriously spent like 15 minutes helping me. I never felt rushed. He sent me home with some samples so I can choose. He was everything a salesperson should be. He was so friendly and just all-around awesome. PETER DESERVES A RAISE, YOU GUYS. So, yeah, I'll be back to buy a full-size perfume because of him. Makeup Makeup Makeup... I just love it and therefore I love Spehora!! Not only do they carry great brands like Urban Decay, Nars, and too faced- but they have fragrances and skin care essentials too. You can try most anything there and even get a smaple to boot! You can make appointments for special occasions, and have someone teach you the basics of makeup application or go for the more advanced techniques. This is the only one in Utah that is full size. There is a small Sephora in the JC Penny stand alone store in Ogden but it doesn't carry the same perks as this one! read more

The salespeople are usually helpful. There are so many things to test but aren't always in stock. Even though products can be delivered to your home, it can take months. They have a shopper point system to get free things, but their prices are ridiculously high. read more

I really really really want to leave a 2 star but I'm in a generous mood today and I've had decent experiences with Sephora in the past. (Some even amazing but I'll leave that 5 star review on the deserving store.) So I'm one of those people that either looks like a model with professional make-up or I look like cat turds in bronzer and mascara. This was a cat turds kinda day - I was last minute wedding make up shopping so I was frazzled, not feeling great after suffering from bronchitis and I just friggin wanted to walk in, have one of they're usually over-zealous sales girls color match me and recommend a concealer and send me on my way. WELL let's start by saying the 4 employees at the front of the store running their mouths like a bunch of 80 year old New Jersey widows looked at me like I actually was cat turds. The kind that come from my sphynx cat. With a vomit inducing stench. I had to walk up to said group of women and ask to be color matched. I was told I would have to wait so they could get somebody to do said service and to walk around and shop for a while. Ugh. Really? Can't you just do it really fast? Was what I WANTED to say, except I'm passive aggressive to this yelp review will have to suffice. In any case - the 2 minutes I was promised turned into 10 and my equally grouchy husband was getting impatient. So the make up artist in me said "EFF THEM JUST PICK IT YOURSELF!" So I did. And I marched my grouchy ass to the check out where I snottily reminded them I needed help with color matching BUT DONT WORRY I FIGURED IT OUT AND ILL RETURN IT IF IT DOESNT WORK! By that point the associate they apparently 'hand selected' to deal with cap'n cat turds showed up like she had been looking for me the whole time. Sorry sister! Wasn't born yesterday. I went to Nordstrom to get my usual stuff but I also wanted Smashbox foundation primer - which I quickly found out they don't carry - so off to Sephora I went. It's a mixed bag, I think. Pros: They had everything I needed - and at about the same price. Unlike Nordstrom, I felt very free to browse and I didn't get hassled by makeup people to try this and that. I was able to get my products, look around a bit, and get out. Cons: DIRTY. The place is a mess! There was smeared makeup on displays, and the place was filled with preteens and it was crazy loud. The Nordstrom cosmetics areas gets noisy too sometimes, but at least it's clean. Also, checkout was a tad slow, but it was busy - so that's OK. Overall? I'll probably go back once in a while, but I'll still go to Nordstrom whenever I am trying a new product, or whenever I don't think I can handle the zoo at Sephora. read more

I will happily say that I am officially a Sephora convert. Yes, I used to sing praises about Bare Escentuals, but I have found that the customer service of Sephora trumps Bare Escentuals by a landslide. Not only can I get Bare Minerals at Sephora, but their staff members are so much more helpful and a lot less intimidating. Yesterday I went in just browsing some foundations I was considering buying, and I have to admit, I was looking a little lost. My skin tone has always been something that I've had a hard time matching, especially because I have yellow undertones. So there was a wonderful staff member who helped me find my shade, tried it out on my skin, and completely didn't pressure me to buy at that moment because foundations (esp. at Sephora) can tend to run a little high. She ended up making me samples and giving me great recommendations for my skin type and even deterred me from wanting to buy the more expensive foundation I was looking at because it wouldn't work for my skin type. I appreciate that immensely, my wallet does as well. So the prices here do run a bit high, but for the quality of the products and the knowledge their staff members can give you, its well worth the investment. Also, when you buy high quality products, they normally are much more pigmented and will last you a longer time than some drugstore products. At least that's what I say to justify spending my money here... darn you Urban Decay. read more

I went in today to check out Rihanna's Fenty line and was pretty stoked about getting myself a foundation. I literally waited for almost 30 minutes to get shade-matched. The first associate I approached said she'd help me after the first customer, which I understood. So I stood around playing with the product and after that, she disappeared, never came back to help me. So I waited again for another 10 minutes. Feeling impatient I saw another associate standing at the front as a greeter and asked if there's ANYBODY that could shade match me, and finally a nice associate helped me out. She apologized for how busy it was tonight; it's homecoming for the high schoolers, which was pretty reasonable. My overall experience at this Sephora location is ehhh. I felt like there were more customers than the associates, so it was a little hard to find anyone who can help. If anything City Creek's location might be best.. read more

Oh. Emm. Gee. I *love* this store. They have just about everything a beauty junkie could want AND they let you play with the product before you buy it. They have testers of everything they sell and makeup artists that truly know their stuff. Want a fantastic whorish red lipstick? They'll find you the perfect shade. Want to know how to create the popular smoky eye? They will teach you. They even have product lines for men's skin car. Yes, high end makeup is expensive, but it's totally worth it when your face is still in place after a 16 hour day. Grocery store makeup is rarely up to that task. read more
