Called to see if I could make an appointment to tan & the girl told me to just come in. I proceeded to ask her if they were busy right now and she said yes we are in the middle of our rush (it was 7:58pm) & I proceeded to ask her what exactly she meant by that and she said that some people were there using some of their beds and she was a complete brat the entire phone conversation. It was not appreciated. I asked her if the bed I was wanting to use was being used and she said ummmmm yeah. I don't know how come it is so hard for people in the age range of 16-22 to give REAL customer service & be kind when they speak to people. Love it here. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I know they get commission for selling lotions, and they do try, but I like that they don't always try to push the most expensive bottles on me, just to get more money. It's always clean in the rooms and the beds are really clean. I love the Esprit bed the most I think. Very high power, I like that I can control my music, the air circulation, and turn that voice off when it gets annoying. I don't really understand why people say it's expensive. It really isn't compared to other places that are actually nice tanning salons. With tanning, you get what you pay for, but even with that, I think this place is a pretty good deal, and they give great incentives each month that you stay a member. read more

Great prices but they do push product on you which can get kind of annoying when you go there 3 times a week. Yet, Palm Beach Tanning is the only place that will not allow people to tan full time until they've come in a random number of times that change each time I ask. Be very wary of these people's business practice. You are asked to sign a disclosure statement but hidden in the fine print it says that you are signing up for a monthly recurring service and your credit card will be billed every month until you call their corporate office in Texas and ask that they stop. I used their service for about two weeks around the end of May before my vacation in June. I was reviewing my CC statements last week and saw that I had been billed $49 in June, July, and August. I called the store and that's when I was rudely informed that I signed a form stating that this would be recurring but I was not offered a copy of that form because it was electronic. The rude girl gave me their corporate number in Texas to call to cancel but you can only leave a message. The next day a lady called me back and when I explained the situation she said that she could refund August but not the other two months. That's when I called Amex to dispute the charges and filed a negative report with the BBB of Utah. read more

I tanned here before my wedding. I like this place. It's very clean and modern. I feel like the products they try to sell you are a little pricy but other than that they have pretty good deals and packages. The staff is very knowledgable about their beds and products. Their staff is all friendly and super helpful and they always know all there is to know about tanning. The only thing I don't like is how expensive the lotions are. Terrible place to go. I went in and told them I had an event in a little over 2 weeks and wanted to get some sort of tan at least started. I told them I burn super easily and never tan. They burned me so bad I couldn't go back for almost a week. So I wasted all that money. The staff is super untrained. No one seems to know what they are doing except for one girl. They don't know how to work the register well, promotions. what packets are which, etc. Train your people better!!! read more

This place is NOT here for the customer! They are not here to be a convenience for the customer, affordable for the customer, nor do they consider that we have busy lives and need to be able to tan on our time, not theirs. First off, I needed to start tanning for this year so since I moved to 7200 South this place was the only one that was nearby.......that I could find, that would be accessible from my work on 5300 South, and home on 7200 South so I went in......I really just wanted to tan one time and see how the staff was, the bed, etc....I was forced to buy a "membership" to be able to tan this one time. Of which they also charge a ten dollar account set up fee (first time ever for this in my 30 years of tanning!). So I opted for the cheapest package 19.95, and they had to have a card on file so they can continue to take my money, even if I'm not happy. They tried to sell me the expensive $90 a month packages, lotions, tanning lotions, etc... both times I've been in to tan. I have my own!!!! So they wouldn't let me tan but for 8 minutes the first time, of which I got NOTHING from, didn't even turn pink, didn't burn, didn't get anything from it. so two days later I went in, and geez they let me go for 12 minutes!! They tried to talk me into only going for 11 minutes, I mean, really? What's a freaking minute! I did get a little something from that, at least my skin was warm afterwards. So to get this party started with tanning, I went back the next day (today) around 4:00, and they wouldn't let me tan because it hadn't been 24 hours yet. Really? I mean seriously, I know what I can handle, what my skin can handle, obviously these people have control issues and I will not be back. I will be canceling my "membership" and I'll travel over to 33rd south to be able to tan when I want with no sales gimmicks, no stipulations, and no constant bothering of buying their products. I need to be able to run by and tan on my way home from work, or on my break, not when it is right for them. This place royally sucks!!! I won't be back!! I absolutely hate palm beach tan. I went a few years ago and there always seems to be a catch. I have to pay for the tan...but oh...here's this other fee...and let's throw another one on too!!! I swore i would never visit again, but i got a holiday coupon in the mail for a free week of tanning. There were no catches listed on the coupon but as soon as i walked in I had to buy a membership and i couldn't use the coupon because i had already gone there before. Beaches tanning salon is excellent. Worst tanning company I have ever been to. I will NEVER recommend it to anyone. read more

I walked in there and was greeted sweetly, shown around, and then badgered by one of the tan girls there. I definitely loved that she was super educated about their beds and how she told me which beds she recommended most. When we were done with the tour, we went back to the lobby and she immediately told me that I should buy their "Diamond" pass, being $89 month. I asked her about the lower cost memberships and she kind of put it off like it was a terrible idea. I really just wanted to get a tan in, so I just agreed and thought if I didn't like it, I could just use their "30 Day Money Back Guarantee." I tanned in their Prestige bed and it didn't occur to me that it wasn't cleaned until I was completely-um... Ready to tan. I didn't have goggles nor a towel. I tried getting their attention, but was unable to. I was in a rush, so I wiped it down with some wipes that I had in my purse (still not completely sanitary, I know) and called it good. Anyway, when I got out of the bed, it wasn't what I had been told. No, I wasn't expecting instant color, I'm not an idiot. But the bed, itself, wasn't as "prestige" as they were explaining it to be. It was hardly even user friendly, the fans wouldn't shut off, there was an awful burst of water every 30 seconds that wouldn't stop... I could go on. I went back to the lady I, regretfully, signed up with and told her I'd like to downgrade or just pay for the tan I did that day. She didn't say a word to me. She just looked at her coworker as if I was speaking a different language. Either I might have caught her off guard or her she was on "sleep mode" because she wasn't explaining the beds. I had to get out of there, so I just figured I'd handle it later. I just went back tonight to cancel my membership because, as I suspected, I didn't use it enough to pay $89 a month. I talked to another tan lady this time and she acted as if she had never seen someone cancel their membership before. Not even that, it took her about 5 minutes to catch onto the fact that I was indeed canceling it. All of a sudden, she was explaining all the "hidden" fees that I wouldn't get back in my unused portion of my membership. I got my $30 out of $130 back. Which most of those fees were supposed to be waved that day on a "special" they were having, but I wasn't able to get refunded that. I had my paperwork in hand, and nothing was said about those fees being non-refundable. Bottom line, are those girls educated on the beds? Yes. Are their prices low? No. Are their prices/ memberships honest? Absolutely not. I was HIGHLY unimpressed with how the girl handled it (I do know her name, I'm choosing to keep it confidential). She was extremely condescending, prissy, and gave me one of the dirtiest looks I have ever seen. I tanned here about a month. It seemed like every tanning bed I went into had burned out bulbs. Every time I went in there they tried to sell me lotion. Dude, I just bought some lotion yesterday, I'm good. It seemed like all they wanted to do was suck money out of me each time I went in. They have good beds if they were maintained properly. I used the 4 tans for $4 coupon and was taken aback by how clean the facility was and how knowledgeable the staff (namely Elizabeth?) was. Compared to the other salons I have visited on my quest to not look like a ghost, they are the best except for location options. There are two shops in the cottonwood/midvale area and one in south jordan but nothing downtown. They offer monthly memberships from $20 up to $90+ so if you are really into keeping color, you can find a membership that fits you, just be cool with going to the southern sector of Salt Lake. It was actually refreshing to be told I had to wait the full 24 hours in between tans as utah law requires. There is friendly staff who know what they are talking about, super clean beds/rooms, tons of membership options, a primping station for you to get your look in check after your tan but the limited location options killed it for me. Give them a try if you want a tip top salon. The $4 deal was too hard to pass up. read more
