Because I spend so much at Sephora, I was upgraded to a VIB Insider member, which gave me a free 45min makeover. I scheduled the makeover & was so happy. I felt like I needed a little pampering from being a mom, nursing school student, and after a lot of drama in my life. My appointment was at 1 and I was on time. When I got there (after waiting 10min to get someones attention), one of Sephora's workers told me 2 workers called in today & that they were busy. I said, well you guys have my cell number, no one called to reschedule. I left my baby with a babysitter & drove all they way to the mall just for this. Also, I had NO MAKEUP on at all and no makeup with me. I had other errands to run b4 picking my baby up and didn't want to go out looking like a "gremlin" with no makeup on. She sighed and told me to just walk around Sephora until they could get to me. After walking around about 10 min a worker asked if I needed help. I told her all that happened & she apologized & got to me right away. She was very nice, but she was clueless in putting on makeup. Im great at putting on makeup and even have tutorials on youtube. I thought I would be pampered and learn some new techniques like when I get a makeover at the MAC Store. Instead, the girl asked me everything."What color do you wear, what powder do you wear, do you like full coverage, would you prefer powder or liquid, etc, etc, etc." At the MAC store, they usually TELL ME what the best color foundation I should wear to match me depending on my skin, the season, & so forth. MAC consultants usually give me tips and tricks of how to apply makeup, the best brushes to use, new products that have come out, and etc. The Sephora consultant did not do that. She was nice I repeat, but thats it. Also, she didn't do my eyebrows and I had to ASK if she could fill my brows in, give me eyeliner for my waterline, and lipstick. She kept getting interrupted by another Sephora worker akin her when would she be done cause they were busy. It had only been 10 minutes yet my makeover was suppose to be 45min. I had waited in the store longer than the girl had been coin my makeup. I felt rushed and not pampered. Finally, after about 30min, the girl was like, All done. I was shocked. She didn't give me lip stick, gloss, or blush or eyeshadow! All she did was put on the foundation she asked me about and a little powder, then liner that I asked for and did my eyebrows very unnaturally. My makeup wasn't even bladed well. I clearly saw a color difference between my neck, face, and perimeter of my face. I looked a MESS. A Hot Mess! Instead of buying YSL #7 at Sephora, I didn't even want to give them my $. I went downstairs to MAC and bought Saint Germain lipstick instead. The reps at Sephora weren't even put together well, Their makeup was dull, their nail polish chipping, and hair a mess. Yes, the MAC reps were OVERLY made up, but they were all in unison and looked great! Going forward, Sephora will be my discount shop to buy dupes to some MAC products, but any real everyday makeup will be bought at MAC as well as any makeup advice. So disappointed. A simple call to reschedule would have lessoned the issue. read more
