It's about time I left this review for Dadeland's Sephora because I am a VIB Rouge and it's all their fault - I mean, it's all thanks to them. That is to say, I spend way too much time and money on skincare and it's because I always have such a wonderful experience in the store that I end up exploring more options and coming back with more questions, things I want to try, etc... It is honestly the perfect example of a store. You are greeted when you walk in and there is always a staff member around in case you need help but not breathing down your neck so you feel pressure or overwhelmed. And by help, I mean I will ask someone if they think a foundation is the right colour, or if this lipstick works for me, all way down to what ingredient in the formula does what the product promotes and how it does it, and I always have a honest (yes, they've said stuff doesn't work for me and I appreciate it!) answer whether the first person answered or they find a specialist who knows. I absolutely love that, like I mentioned before, you are not chased around by anyone so you have time to really try on all the products (and they have hygienic ways to do that which I really appreciate otherwise I'd never touch anything) and check colours, brands etc because we all know buying make up is not an easy, one-step thing. You have to check colours, consistencies, etc etc and at this Sephora I've always found the freedom and the help (if you want them to put it on like a pro for you, they always offer) to do so so you're confident with your purchase. Which leads me to Sephora's policy in general and why I love them, their return policy truly shows their importance on customer loyalty because they understand make up might look different when you actually wear it/it oxidises/different light/whatever, and instead of making you regret it, they accept it with no issues so you're free to actually try something else rather that crying for the money wasted. This Sephora is no exception, I went through 2 foundations I tried in store and then saw differently at home and they accepted both with no problem. I had the luck of going in on a day Charles was there and he helped me pick the right thing for me (a CC cream with 50 SPF, he even told me off for not being better about SPF and would not let me leave without something SPF - he said SPF or nothing!) so that out of the ordinary lovely experience reminded me it's about time I do this. I have been shopping at Sephora Dadeland for 14 years and the quality of the customer service has been declining each year. I only go there when I want to see the color or consistency of a product in person but I usually buy products online or at Aventura to avoid contact with the associates at this location. Here are the reasons why I dislike this location so much: -Staff always thinks you're going to steal. They watch you like a hawk ( I see you lurking, LP guy!). They will ask you if you need assistance repeatedly and follow you around the store. One time, one of the managers had the nerve to ask me if I needed help and LOOKED INTO MY PURSE. I have disliked her ever since. That is just plain fucking rude. - HARDCORE AND CARELESS UPSELL. They will try to sell you items you don't want or need. I understand it is a business and profit has to be made, but shoving an $80 face oil down my throat when I came in for foundation is unnecessary. -Some of the associates don't even know what they're selling. I asked about the difference between two items and she just read the back of the boxes to me. I guess I forgot how to read when I walked in that day. -I was having a product consultation done and the associate pawned me off to another so she could help someone who "looked rich". So what if I am not wearing designer duds? I still spend a good chunk of my earnings at your store. This location used to be my favorite when Josh used to work there. I only come here if I'm unable to drive to the Aventura location. Please work on your customer service skills and product knowledge. That way it won't seem like such a fake, money hungry atmosphere. Also, next time someone follows me around and looks into my purse, I will write a strongly worded letter to Corporate with the names of those who disparage and belittle me. I need to say, I was really disappointed with my last visit to Sephora! I went to the Sephora at JC Penney asking for help with foundation, and one of the employees came very nicely to help. I was really happy with her enthusiasm, but she was too enthusiastic with just everyone. She greeted literally every single person around, and while we were waiting for her to bring something she went to help others. When we were ready to order something, we waited for ever because she was at the cash registry taking care of a line of customers. What about other Sephora employees? Just standing there, doing literally nothing! I couldn't ask them to help because I already started with that one and she already knew exactly what my needs were, so I had to waste more than an hour until I finished my purchase, which was not complete. I actually liked 2 products that she introduced but I still was not able to find a good foundation. I was not willing to wait more so I just payed and went to the other Sephora in Dadeland. There were even more employees, most of them chatting among themselves. It was really hard to get someone to help, and even so the attitude was not the best. She gave me one sample to get rid of me without caring about my needs. I have big problem with foundation because my skin is really very sensitive! After that, I walked in the mall and the ladies at the Lancome counter were much nicer and patient, and gave me much better service. I am already a VIB customer in Sephora and wanted to keep on being a loyal customer, but it just seems impossible with such a bad customer service! I had good experiences with some employees in the past, that has helped me with my skin problem, but it all depends if the employees are willing to help or not. If there are too many employees, it seems to be a big problem because they are too entertained chatting with each other and a customer is only interrupting their chat. read more

For some reason within the last six months the staff here has either quit or been fired. My make-up guru Jessica is no longer there and I am heartbroken! I decided to give another staff member a chance and got my make-up done for a wedding...holy disaster! Trust me when I say I'm not a picky person but this session was just ridic. My friend and I were already in a time crunch to make it in time for the event and I just don't know how it all went so wrong. Apparently, they were really understaffed that day and my apppointment ended up starting late. I showed the artist 2 very similar pictures of what I wanted. I was looking for a smokey golden/brown look on my eyes to compliment the gold dress I was wearing. She didn't want me peeking at the make-up until she was done (which sometimes I can understand because people can get way too picky before the makeup is all blended together). But how did I end up with blue eyeshadow all the way up to my eyebrows? The session took about an hour and a half (crazy) and I ended up looking like the complete opposite of what I wished for. Disaster. Because of the time crunch I ended up frantically driving home and wiping down the blue eyeshadow off as much as I could. Let's just say my night did not go as smoothly as I wanted. According to my friend, this artist and the one who did her make-up no longer work there. I'm not sure what's going on at this store but they're definitely having issues with staffing. I went in for a moisturizer but I left with a whole new AMAZING skin care regimen! Nicole V. is LITERALLY AN ANGEL! She is so knowledgeable and passionate that she could basically be the CEO of Volition she is THAT great. She knew so much about every single product she showed me, and she recommended things just for me and didn't try to force any products on me. I have been there 3 times in the last 2 months to purchase makeup and the people are so rude and ignore you. There is one older woman there that barely speaks English and I asked her to point me in the right direction for Nars and she just put her hand up and said "I'm on break" and walked away. I had normal expectations but, to my pleasant surprise, had an incredible experience. Of the many makeovers I have received over the past 15 years, this one was, by far, the best. I have been to this location on numerous occasions and they are always extremely helpful and have wonderful customer service. There are several make-up artists that have assisted me, like Soraya and Veronica, that are worth mentioning. They are very helpful with the right colors and products for your skin type and color. They make sure to spend time with you until the find the right match for you. They are also in tune with what is new in the industry. I tend to go with friends, which makes the experience even more fun. Sephora has a great rewards program where you receive certain free products as you accumulate points based on purchases. They also have special sales for those that register for their rewards program, which is a good incentive. It is a great place to unwind and explore product options. read more

How can one not love Sephora? It has everything you need from a variety of brands. I usually shop the Sephora brand and I really like it. I love coming to this store because there are just so many things to choose from. I even got my bf to like it, only for the shaving cream. It lasts months! The staff is friendly and helpful. Even their online store is amazing. Shipping is free for any purchase of $50 or more and you get free samples! The only downside is I usually spend over $100 any time I come! read more

The store is good, but seriously their associates are the main reason I usually decide not to go in. They act as though they are professional skincare consultants, and dish out incorrect advice accordingly. No, just no. Most of them use free samples given to them & always push the most expensive, 'new' products on the market, whether or not it's suited to the customer. I had that experience today when I asked for a sample. The associate started giving an entire speech to me, telling me why I must get it blah blah blah. I was trying to get a word in edgewise, but she just kept on pushing. It was a great reminder why I don't go into the Dadeland store. Thank goodness for online shopping!!! read more

The new pantone collection came out this week. Absolutely beautiful. The eyeshadow colors are vibrant and the price affordable. The brush set is a perfect match. They are always helpful, when u walk in. Usually they have most items in stock I am looking for too. They do not carry the sephora makeup palette ($50) yr round, only during Xmas, so if u happen to get one during the holidays, take good care of it and hold on to it for dear life! I love this store! Great makeup! Great customer service. The SA are always ready to help and/or give you perfume samples. I could spend hours here playing with all the makeup!!!! I am here too often. This location always has items in stock and I usually always find what I need. However, if you need help with anything, forget it. I avoid this location because the sales team sucks. I can never find them when I need help and they rarely ask. I went into the store today to buy a few things and get some foundation samples. After looking around for someone for 15 minutes I finally found someone (it's like they run away from you) and asked if they could help me get some shade matches/samples. She told me she was going on her break and would find someone to help me. So I waited about 15 minutes until I gave up. She never asked anyone to help me! She just went on her break and forgot about me. I ended up just leaving. I wasn't going to buy a $40 foundation without a sample or shade match. read more

This Sephora is a really good one. I have to say that after living in both NYC and Miami, I have visited many many stores and this one was a pleasant experience. My friend and I came in looking for a foundation and we were assisted by Carla S. She was super sweet and knowledgable. She helped my friend find the perfect foundation and she knew a lot about many of the different products in the store and she really took her time. Most of the time when I visit Sephora, the associates have been reluctant to help or just referred me to a product they are already familiar with whether it was good for me or not. Had the worst experience here!! I came excited to spend some money and could not get ONE person to help me. When I finally flagged someone down, I asked her if she could help or find someone who could help me match a foundation. She quickly grabbed a foundation and said this looks about right. Grabbed some and put some on my neck. Alright fine. It matched. I notice that only the tester is there with no product around it so I ask if she has it in stock. She grabs another associate and asks her to find it for her in the back. Both disappear and I stand there for about 15 minutes watching people come and go. I find her again and ask her if she was able to find it. She looks at me confused and says "I don't know. Ask her." And points at another associate in the aisle already helping someone. So I stand there and wait some more. At some point, I got so upset that I left. I was so upset!!! Then, as I'm leaving she comes to me and says, were you able to find it? And I said no, but thank you. And walked away. Ugh! read more

Went in yesterday, everything was great. looking around the store trying out the things that said TRY ME on them and i was being followed the whole time! at one point my sister and i ended up at the st.tropez tanning lotion section towards the back and i put some on my hand and it was great instant tan, then this sales associate asked if we needed help for the 10th time, thats fine we didn't, then an older woman (Manager maybe?) comes and asks if we are looking for something in particular, i said no we are just looking around but thanks, she DID NOT LEAVE FOR 5 MINUTES, i kept talking to my sister and she was still there and i don't mean 5 feet away, like 2, excuse me????? I kept looking at her like what do you want??? How disgusting, i will NOT be coming back here to spend my hard earned money on people who think you're going to steal everything in sight because iM TRYING STUFF OUT THATS MEANT TO BE TRIED, rude!! i understand people steal, but you keep your eye on them from a distance!! Meh. This location makes me want to shop online. It's crowded and dirty and the associates are too harried to provide service beyond pointing out the location of the stuff you're looking for. The samples are in really bad shape; they're either used up or the labels are so worn you can't tell what it is you're sampling, or both. Some of the product for sale has been handled in an attempt to try out a color whose sample is worn out. The selection is limited and the store itself is too small to handle the traffic. If you're at Dadeland, stroll through to do things you can't do online (try perfume, see a color you aren't sure of) but don't put any of the sample makeup on your face, even with the little applicators because nobody seems to be using those (yuck) and it's not worth catching a cold or worse. After you're done buy your products online where they'll be fresh, new and untouched and you won't deal with the interminable line and the crowded tiny space. read more

RUN AWAY!! !! I am a vib rouge member who was treated rudely. New gift was announced I came in on August 4 and asked to redeem my points. I away told NO because they hadn't run out of the living proof deal. Maybe another store had and I could do it there. WWTF??? I was a few minutes later allowed to get gift. Thanks I guess. Then I tried to move appointment by then and was told no then I called to hours later while at Cuban restaurant across the street was still told no but came across the street for shipping. It was then that the guy who had told me no by phone started to complain to a co worker about me. How I could wait til tomorrow to get my make up done. Forget that it it Saturday night and my birthday as well . BITCHIN about me while I M in the store. A lady. Coworker who had seen me in he store earlier stopped him since she saw me. He just struggled his shoulders. Called 1-877-sephora left report right away Sunday from my room at the Bentley and asked for a call. Four weeks later I sit here with no response. They aren't a now store. One worker told me she offered to do my makeup it he would t allow her. I quote COULD WAIT. Run Away run Away. I have never given one star tip now. They deserve zero. Came in on a Monday afternoon searching for a line of cosmetics they have on their website. In my defense I called ahead to ask if they had the line in stock and they said "Of course!". Walked in and didn't see the specific line in the area where that brand was located and asked an associate for help. She told it's over there by that wall to which my reply was can you show me because I was just there and didn't see it. She proceeds to tell me it's there and walks away. I then asked another associate who was speaking to a manager and asked the products I was looking for and was told "she'll get it since you can't find it". So far still haven't seen the product after 20 minutes and 3 different people finally was able to see the product. When I asked to try it out she placed the product on the makeup counter and then stared at me. Nothing given to me to cleanse my face before applying product, no tissues, no help, just a half cleaned brush and an awkward stare. At this point I was fed up. I found my color in the product I wanted and ordered it online straight from the company, not Sephora. A little customer service goes a very long way. Unbelievable behavior and lack of customer service all around. I buy makeup CONSTANTLY and will no longer be using this company to do so. read more

I live close to the mall and always go here when it comes to makeup. I normally have a great time browsing and shopping here but last time I was unhappy to say the least. I had been there once that week already and came back to pick up some of their eye shadow applicators that were on sale. The girl was upset that she had to come behind the counter to ring me up for a small sale and did not even bother to hide it. It made me feel bad and like if I did not belong there. Worst Sephora I have shopped at in a dozen states. I am a VIB rouge member originally from Miami and have been traveling and living out of Florida for the past 5 years. This location has once again become my home store and unfortunately I am going to be forced to buy exclusively online from now on. The product knowledge is MINIMAL, they get frustrated and rude quickly when you do not immediately take the first few products they suggest, and they act confused when you ask about brands that have long been part of the Sephora repertoire. I did have one excellent experience with an associate named Frankie recently but otherwise the staff, while quick to offer help, really are not helpful. Just shop online. read more

NOTE: The three stars are for their TERRIBLE customer service. No one ever asks if I need help despite the perplexed look on my face as I walk around unsure of which products work best with my skin. Last week, I went to buy Nars foundation and in the middle of my first question which was simply, "is a brush or sponge better for applying the product" she started to walk away! Sephora at Miami International Mall Horrible experience, my 3 years daughter asked me at the last moment for "pipi" and I just asked 2 minutes for the bathroom that they have inside the store because it was really an emergency since she do not use pampers anymore, I implored to the lady for the big favor desperate but she didn't even looked to my eyes, total indifferent she send me to macys or to look for the manager that wasn't at the store at that time. I put my $150 value products aside and I had to run with my daughter crying outside Macys because I couldn't find there the bathroom in that upset situation and take her to the ground like a dog, I feel so humiliated than I never ever I comeback to that place and no one in my family and close friends, beside that costumer service is really bad, no good manners, no glamour, poor costumer education, worst than Walmart because at least there you don't expected to pay high cosmetics price and they do not loose money just because a little girl needs to use a bathroom for an emergency. read more

Yesterday I went to the Sephora at Dadeland Mall (Miami, FL) with my grandma and son. I had a sample of this product and since then I have been dying to purchase it. I went to the store exited to find great disappointment. Yes, the employees were greeting at everyone at the entrance but when I asked about the product, the two employees at the front of the store - didn't even know Sephora offer this. So, they sent me straight to the register to "order it online." On my way to the register I see this product, but I didn't see any new boxes just the display. So, I asked three employees that were having a very deep conversation (completely ignoring me) and one of them told me "Oh go there, that is the Sephora Collection." Once again, I went to the Sephora Collection and I didn't find what I wanted so I decided to leave because obviously, nobody was interested on helping me. The point of the story- it is very disappointing that nobody cared to helped me, I was willing to purchase a product for myself and my grandmother and even to try new makeup products. I felt that because I was with my son and grandmother the employees seem to care less about helping us. It was so rude that this is officially my first online review to any type of stores, the way they made me feel was horrible. Someone could at least tried to find the item for me. Even at Walmart an employee would make you follow them until they find what you were looking for. read more
