I purchased brow pencils from one of their advisors and she gave me the wrong color. I tried exchanging it (it was new, never used) and she would not return it! I asked to speak to a manager and I think she said one was not available. Silvia has a very thick accent or perhaps she doesn't understand English. She says it was past the 30 day return period. I did not have a receipt, so how would she know I didn't purchase it yesterday? It's definitely a language barrier. I won't be going back because of their unprofessional associate! Sephora, how much I love you!!! Located in Dadeland Mall I come here for all my girly supplies and all my favorite makeup products. I could spend hours in here looking thru each aisle. I start off with the makeup products and work my way to the skin lines. Today I came by to purchase a leave in conditioner by DevaCurl. It's one of the best for styling my curl without all the chemicals. It's a little pricey but it does the job. The employees are always friendly and help me choose what's best for me. A great tip is you can sample some of the best products. I usually sample skin line products especially moisturizers and eye creams. It could last me a good month. If you love makeup products like me this is your spot you can accumulate points and get some amazing products for free. Look out for specials in the holiday season. read more

I love Sephora. I know some women are "ulta" girls but I definitely consider myself a Sephora girl. I'm always looking to get the latest product so my makeup can be amazing. Not to mention all the designer fragrances they sell as well. I always come here for skin care products, makeup, and fragrances. Every time I walk in I'm always greeted by an associate. Soon after they always ask if I need help or hand me a basket. After I go on looking around until I find what I need. Sometimes I ask for help if it comes to a color match for foundation or whatnot. They also match fragrances which I think is pretty cool. My major complaint is that I feel they offer way more perks when you order items online. At the store you rarely get any free samples or gifts (unless it's your birthday). When you order online you get to sample a few things which I think is awesome. Great store overall. I would give this place 0 stars if I could! The employees here are liars & scammers. I booked a full face make up service for my best friends maternity shoot but before I booked I called to make sure lashes were included. I was told she would have to buy them at the store or bring her own pair in & there would not be an additional cost to put them on. However, when she did her make up, they put on a pair of Sephora lashes (which she didn't even get to pick herself) & charged an additional $26 for the lashes without warning her. They basically scammed her into buying almost $30 strip lashes when you can buy similar ones for $6 at Walgreens. WHAT A RIP OFF & SCAM! I've never been lied to straight to my face like this before. Dearest Sephora! What can I say? When I discovered you years ago, it was at Aventura Mall, and long before Yelp existed. I have been a fan ever since. Sephora, your black and white signature stripes cause my heart to flutter and skip a beat every time I see them. I know that what lies inside waiting for me can only be the newest and best-quality products on the market. So needless to say, anytime I need anything related to make-up, fragrances, and other beauty products, I head straight here. Fast forward to last Saturday... I was in the mood for some new eye shadows and was in desperate need of my basic foundation/cover-up (my face powder is Bare Escentuals - I recommend it to ALL). Of course one can never get just what they came for... And I being like most, walked out with my powder, new makeup brushes, an eye shadow from BE, eye shadow primer from BE and an eye shadow palette from Urban Decay. Overall, this store was great. The reps were helpful, and a couple of times I was asked if I needed assistance. It just so happened that on this day I didn't need any more help buying anything else. I was doing just fine on my own. LOL One thing I will say is that I do prefer the Aventura Sephora (I guess it's like one's first love - this was my first Sephora) store better, but this store will do for my new southern address. My most recent experience at Sephora Dadeland was with none other than your fabulous MUA Helen. She is so skilled at her craft! I live in Coconut Creek, passing at least 5 Sephoras on my way to this location but it is completely worth the drive because I know that I will have a divine experience. Helen is a vital asset to this location & is the embodiment of everything a Sephora associate should be. She is so warm, friendly, attentive, fun all while maintaining professionalism; this balanced combination is why she's so awesome at what she does. My service was flawless, not only did Helen make sure that I left Sephora looking to die for, but she also took care of my skin along the way; explaining the process, giving tips & tricks, and answering questions I had as they arose. Throughout the service, customers commented on how gorgeous my face was turning out and I was truly blown away when she was done. They have great products but some of their associates are too full of themselves. It's obvious to other customers too i see. The help could be better, especially in an area like make up where there are so many professionals with talent and passion for this creative field. Sometimes in the skin care I feel so overwelhemed. But I prefer the help there much more than the make up section. Last time I was there, I asked this woman for help and she seemed annoyed i approached her with my need to find a mascara primer and mascara. She showed me 2, when I felt like I was such as inconvinience to her agenda at the end I told her I could just put back the first we saw. Thinking it would be nice of me to do, she moved her hand waving it as if telling me it's by a certain section for me to go ahead and she left. Wow. I rarely come to this Sephora as it's pretty far from me, but I've always had good experiences here and this last visit was no exception. I came for a makeover on Valentine's Day and it actually wasn't crazy. I was greeted immediately upon entering and was directed to the makeover section. I was helped by Dede who did my makeup and did an incredible job. I loved my end look and she picked out a great lip color that I even ended up buying. I have been buying from this Sephora since they were on the other side of the mall next to Macy's many moons ago. For me, it's the one of the better stocked Sephora's always with the better luxe brands. The staff can be half and half.. what I mean by that is half really sweet and helpful;and the other half swear that they own Sephora and have this pretentious attitude. Sephora back then was a place that I enjoyed walking to. But now, I feel like it's no longer the way it was. Sephora, in my opinion, is not a beauty supply store that I will go all the time and shop all day due to unacceptable high prices. Anything that looks small or thin like a makeup brush or nail polish and is priced over $10 is ridiculous. Plus, half of the products you are looking for are the ones they don't have. The employees don't seem to care to ask if you need help or bother to greet you when you enter the store. The old Sephora used to do that and I felt welcomed. Now, I don't. Before, the employees were kind enough to give you a free makeover. That case happened to me. When I first entered Sephora, a very nice woman was so kind and helpful to my mom and I in our shopping and she even helped me do a makeover on me. At that time, I didn't know how to makeup on and she helped me through it and gave me tips. She put makeup on me and even styled my hair. At the end, I felt so beautiful and happy. I felt like a young woman, which I still am. But the last time I went, the employees didn't even dare to do that while I looked around the store and didn't even bother to look at me. What? Have I grown so ugly that they won't even look at me? Last time I checked, people found me pretty because of my dark hair and light skin. It's horrible that I always leave the store feeling negative including about my looks because they cast down at me. Thanks, Sephora. I feel "great"! The only complaint I have about this particular location is that there always seem to be people around trying to sell you some featured product - and I don't dig that. My visit this week was very satisfying and fun. Jorge knew just the foundation I needed. I am a mature woman, and if I choose the wrong the foundation it just seems to sit like a layer of plaster. I no longer look washed out after a few hours. Christina understood my minimalist attitude and gently steered me to step it up a bit. Islady was great at the checkout. Everyone talks directly to you, making good eye contact ,which I want when someone is taking my money instead of making me feel like they are doing me a favor. They spoke well of the Manager Adolfo. Motivated employees means good leadership. Good leadership makes the difference in the customer experience. I now won't go to any other Sephora's. read more

So...being the Sephora lover that I am (what girl isn't)..i couldn't give this place a terrible one star review because of the love i have for the brand. I'm just not a fan of this particular location. There is only one person there who I think genuinely cares about the customers who come in. I wish I knew his name so I could give him a shout out! He is so sweet and kind and so patient. I have gone to him several times for fragrance samples and he happily does them for me with a sample bag labeled and all:) Other attendants not so great. I remember asking one other attendant if they had a certain item in stock. He made me wait by the item and left me there stranded as he supposedly went to the back to check to see if it was in stock. I had to find him again and ask because he completely forgot after I had eisiges there about 5 mins:/ He also gave me attitude when I asked him about it after he had left me there waiting. Other times, as I said in my review for the Sephora at Merrick Park, these attendants nab you right when you walk in greeting you with a shopping basket and they don't seem too happy about it as they really just robotically say hi! here's a basket and hand it to you. Not cool in my book. Also I have found things to be disorganized when I get there or the makeup testers to look really used and gross. Note to Sephora staff:If you see that a lipstick tester is at its end and completely flattened, please replace it. In addition, I'm not a fan of this one because it gets so crowded. The check out line ends up being super long. The attendants won't leave you alone. Every two seconds someone comes up asking you if you need help. If I needed your help, I would have asked you for your help -_- As Ariana Grande would say..."thank u, next". Would I go back?...Maybeee..That's if I needed some cosmetic item that I couldn't get online or am in dire need of, but really I'd rather just go to the one in Merrick Park. They are much less obtrusive and have more genuine care and interest in the patrons that come in. read more

It's either feast or famine in this place. You either get swarmed by employees offering you a basket and assistance or you barely get a mumbled hello. On my last visit I had to chase someone down to ask for help locating my Laura Mercier sponges to find out they didn't carry them. She offered me the shitty generic Sephora brand ones instead, they didn't even fit in the compact. Whatever. To add insult to injury their samples were filthy, falling apart and screaming to be replaced. I can only imagine what a culture swab would reveal. Herpes anyone? Disgusting. I absolutely LOVE this location. It is the biggest Sephora that I have been to. There may be bigger stores, but I haven't seen 'em yet! I love the selection of products and the staff is always helpful. The only reason that I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because my FAVE Pro Makeup Artist Nikki Oxley is no longer here. :( She has moved to the South Beach location. She made every visit there a better experience! Sephora is definitely my favorite cosmetics store. The Beauty Insider Rewards program is a nice perk. You get a free gift on your birthday month. Just stop in to any Sephora during the entire month & pick it up! No purchase necessary! :) And you rack up points with each purchase. I like to save my points for a bigger reward rather than use them up each time I go. (Smart girl! lol) They will usually give you two or three options once you have reached 100 points... The perfume selection in this location is pretty big. They carry all my faves and (BONUS) they always have little roll-on bottles of most of the perfumes as well. These are resonably priced and it gives you a chance to really try out a fragrance before you buy a full sized bottle!! What more can a girl ask for?? read more

I looooooove sephora. I have a not-so-secret obsession with this store and it gives me all the feels. I walk in and someone immediately greets you & asks if you need help. Usually I'm just here to look around, but I love this place! I recently got my skin color matched for my foundation. They take this little machine and take pictures of your skin and give you a list of foundations that match your skin type from every brand. Very cool! I wish it would match you to some drugstore brands, sephora is very expensive, but well worth it sometimes. Always ask for samples! They're supposed to give you at least 3 samples of products you've never tried, so don't be afraid to ask! I love their return policy. You can return something with or without a box and with or without a receipt. They just look it up with your account number on their computer. Holy crap. Let's put it this way - - there's no reason why you SHOULDN'T check out Sephora. Especially this location (inside Dadeland Mall). Not only do they have at least 40 different cosmetic/skincare/hair/fragrance/etc. brand, but the store is wonderfully organized with an aisle display for each one. These brands include ones like Benefit, Urban Decay, Smashbox, NARS, Makeup Forever, and even Sephora's brand. Prices and product names are easy to see and almost every product you're able to test. There are even little testing stations (as I like to call them) at the end of each display complete with clean sponges, mascara wands, lipgloss wands, tissues and remover. The associates are also extremely helpful and friendly. Not only am I always greeted with a smile when I walk in but they make recommendations and suggestions when I ask and are extremely knowledgeable. There's also the Beauty Insider program in which you get a free card that gets scanned each time you make a purchase (in-store and online) and for each dollar you spend you get a point. With 100 points you get a free deluxe sample of something. Aside from free samples, you get entitled to the newsletter with exclusives, pre-sales and sales. So yeah, if you're a girly-girl like me, Sephora is the only way to go! read more

I came in looking for some good makeup that I could use for my upcoming engagement shoot. They have a great selection of professional quality makeup and I almost got lost looking at all the cool things. The only thing I didn't like was the rude salesperson who kept pushing me to fill out a reward card application. Instead of "hello," she said "Hi lady." This is something I only say to friends so I found this a little irritating to say the least. But I digress. I ended up asking "Hi Lady" lady about makeup options, but I guess she didn't want to help me and handed me over to another salesperson, Ana. Ana is fantastic. If I could bottle Ana up and take her with me to any event, I would. All she did was apply the foundation, and I was hooked. Talking to her I knew she knew her stuff about makeup, she took time to explain to me why we should use different brushes, how I should apply the foundation best, etc. She made me feel very comfortable and helped me feel confident about doing my makeup on my own. She was awesome and didn't try to push any products other than what I needed (primer and foundation). She was also very attentive and found a foundation that matched my skin's needs. In general, Sephora is a great store. If I came here often it would be VERY bad for my bank account so I try to limit it to neccessities ONLY. read more

Good lawwwwd I love me some Sephora. It's incredibly dangerous though, because there is no way in h-e-double-hockey-sticks that I'm walking out of that place with less than $100 in goodies. The selection at this location is good and generally well stocked. The employees are usually friendly and helpful, although there is one *ahem* rather over enthusiastic employee who is a little too much for me and makes me feel almost pressured to buy what she recommends. There are a couple gay male employees who I *always* gravitate towards. A gay man will never tell you that you look fabulous if you don't! I *love* Sephora's return policy. If you don't like it, bring it back! It's great that I'm not stuck just trying something on in the store and deciding right then and there if I love it or not. The lighting is terrible in the store and makes me look like a pale, blotchy monster, so I need to get the products out of there and into some daylight to see if I really, really want them.
