Sephora has always been one of my favorite places for all things beauty! When I was younger, I didn't get into it as much as I wish I had but as I have aged, I have appreciated the creativity it sparks and the art it allows you to create however you want! This Sephora is located in the Country Mart. It is a fairly small store considering how big all the other Sephora stores are, but the customer service I received here was impeccable. I was looking for a concealer and moisturizer for my face. Cyrus helped me find the perfect concealer that I am just in love with and Brittany came along and tried to help me find the perfect moisturizer. I was a little skeptical of all the products she introduced to me so she sent me home with a lot of samples that I could try out for a few days before purchasing. Cyrus and Brittany were both great and I left completely satisfied with my purchase. *This store has a machine that recommends the perfect products for your skin based on some information that you enter information about your skin and the type of products you are looking for. Look, I'm a big fan of Sephora in general. The points, the wide selection, the freebies...so this review is just on this location and more specifically, the lack of staff/staff attention. My friend and I walked in there because I was interested in buying a serum and wanted to show it to her to get her thoughts. We walked in, no one greeted us, no one was on the floor walking around, so off we wandered trying to figure out where this brand was located on the floor. I saw maybe one or two salespeople behind the cash register, that's it. Luckily, we found what we were looking for and started reading the bottles to see if it was in fact what I wanted to buy. Instead, we thought we would try sampling it. So we stood there...looking around...waiting for someone to come help us. No one showed. We walked up a little, still no one, so we went back (the brand we were interested in was along their back wall). But since I frequent Sephoras so often (just never been to this particular one), I knew they usually have the sample containers nearby so I opened a nearby drawer and voila! there's the sample containers, so I took two out, and filled them for us. Then my friend pointed out that we should probably put these in little bags so it doesn't spill in our purses, so again, we looked around, no one was nearby so I went back to the drawer, and voila! there are the bags. So after bagging them, I gave my friend and I the full Sephora experience and grabbed a pen and wrote the brand name and product on it. Again, no one was around so we walked out of the store. So to the management of this particular Sephora, please check the security footage because you will see two people trying to get help and instead helped themselves to samples in the most non-shoplifting way. I would rather order online or go to a different location than try so hard to get attention here again. read more

Just be careful placing items for pick up because they do charge you 10 cent per bag. Parking do sucks since I came on a Saturday and it was the Sephora sales event. read more

Sephora opened up at the Malibu Country Mart, and its a great store to find perfume, cosmetics, bath and body goods in the Malibu area. I visited a dear friend in Malibu and it was always a hassle trying to find these items in Malibu. Sephora opened up and their selection is nice, with this location carrying higher end fragrances, skin care brands a variety of health goods. If you don't want to go to the Malibu Ralphs or CVS, you can always find a better selection here for great stuff. Its also a great place to find gifts if you live in the Malibu area. The staff is friendly, courteous and will even direct to you nearby stores in LA County if they don't have what you want in stock. This is a great place to shop in the Malibu Country mart! read more

This used to be my favorite spot, but i came here to shop i had my mask down for a second to smell the perfume. There was a male sales associate...He yelled in a very rude way "put your mask on!!!!" I told him i am just trying to smell the perfume, hes like " smell it through your mask" yea!!! You can smell it through your mask!! Was I being punked? Seriously??? I need to update my review because of their awesome review policy, and because of their events. I bought a blow-dryer here and tried it at home, and I realized I didn't like it. I brought it back, and mentally prepared myself that I might not get my money back, or that I would only get store credit. Well, I was very surprised that they have a really great return policy! I had kept the receipt, and they allowed me to return the blow-dryer, and returned my money to me. I had paid in cash, and they gave me cash back. Just like Nordstrom, I'm more likely to shop here because I know that on the rare occasion that I need to return something, I can do it. I feel much more confident making a purchase at a place that will let me bring something back if I need to. Also, I came to one of their events here, which was really cool! Urban Decay gave free makeovers!!! I came and got my makeup done for free, so nice!!! I really had just stumbled on the event, so I asked them if there was any newsletter, or way to keep in touch with them, to find out about events. They said that they were going to be creating a Facebook page for this particular store so that anyone can keep in touch with their events, which I will definitely be doing. Kinda surprised this location doesn't have more reviews. Perhaps it's because it's a locals' spot. I make it a point to check out the Sephora in every country/city I'm in at least once (Spain was the most recent). This is a local store for me and I wasn't sure what to expect, but they are absolutely WONDERFUL! They leave you alone to browse, which I like, but do check in to determine if you need help or product information. Everyone is SO friendly and happy - probably a product of working in Malibu. They even brought out a huge container of treats for my dog. Two paws way up from Ginger for that! The store is on the smaller side, but has the products people would be most interested in purchasing. The clientele are Malibu types. This location also has exclusive to their location products so don't be shy and drop by! I drop in without hesitation to buy or just browse. Love all the people at this store! read more

I we t in to purchase TACHA skincare and the clerk snuck in a Caudalie cleansing oil product. The price $28. Yes- I found out when I got home but when I called the store they said they had to check cameras and call me back. Also, I had to beg a clerk to check me out. No one was at the check out counter! Well I am no expert, but I have been around to a couple of Sephora stores. The attitude here was unbelievable. The Queen of the store couldn't be bothered with me. Yes, they left you alone, but God forbid I have a question about their products. Excuse me, am I bothering you? I was wondering about this lipstick... Four members of the staff were gossiping in the corner about someone else. It was really pathetic. I ventured into a couple nearby stores as well, so may be it is a "Malibu attitude?" I'll pass. Just got done at this store.. as a VIB Rouge who has about 20,000 points.. I probably won't be coming back. Went there for the VIB Rouge Sale to shop with my step mom. First off I ask for a product and the sales associate said they didn't have it... didn't even bother looking. So I asked another associate and she said they had them in the back. Whatever no biggie. But when I got to checkout I handed them my red Rouge card for my step moms portion of the purchase and they charged her card FULL price. Then they were about to charge me full price and I asked about my 20% discount for the sale and they said I had to show them the email. I have shopped at A TON of different Sephora's for the VIB ROUGE sale all the years the program has existed... this it the ONLY store I've had literally charge full price and then when I caught the mistake then requested to see an email after them having seen my Rouge card. And even before they charged full price during the Rouge sale the employee even recognized and made apparent how many points I had by shouting it with excitement. Sooooo bizzare. And so they had to return all the products purchased for my step mom and then repurchase... then the manager realizes the sales associate didn't ring 2 of the items up.. and the manager makes a point of this mistake... as if we shouldn't have said anything about the discount. But in the end after the whole situation, we got back more money with the discount versus the forgotten items that weren't rung up. Then when I got home I was looking at my past purchases on my Sephora account and realized after all of that... where are my purchases from the Cross Creek store?! They didn't even bother to put my email in to get the points for the purchases!!! Unreal. I called to let them know and they said I had to call the Sephora hotline to adjust my points. Thanks to the Sephora hotline they fixed it. But damn... no customer that spends nearly 20k should deal with this kind of bs. I'll continue to shop at my trusty Santa Monica Sephora. UPDATE: AND THEY CHARGED THE CREDIT CARD TWICE! They didn't void the first transaction! So much for being excited about a sale.. only to be charged double.. unbelievable read more

After explaining that I had purchased the wrong color of eye liner last week (because the packaging was confusing), she offered to sell me what I needed and told me to bring back the other item for a refund. This is actually my least favorite Sephora, which is a shame as the location is the best and most convenient for me. However having skilled and qualified employees who don't hate life is key in the beauty industry. The guys that work there were more interested in making fun of other customers and gossiping behind their employees and boss back. It is a smaller store so they do not have as much product and hours are shorter as well which is just due to the market. I gave it 2 stars because of location. Sahara and Monique did an amazing job!!! I came in to get my makeup done for a wedding and Sahara made me look perfect. I always hate fake eyelashes and she suggested the perfect kind for me and it looked wonderful. I got my makeup done at noon and it looked exactly the same at 2 am. She knew exactly how to make my face and skin look really good but not too dramatic and overdone. My hair was in a messy bun and looked horrible and I didn't know what updo I would be able to do for the wedding. Monique offered to help. I looked down for 5 minutes and all of a sudden my hair was transformed and looked perfect. I was completely ready for the wedding and it wouldn't have been for her my hair would have been a disaster. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and I got so many compliments at the wedding.
