I booked a make up lesson with Monique. I am over 60 years old and this was my first make up lesson. I conveyed my concerns and wishes to Monique. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. She listened to what I was asking for, proceeded with the lesson while explaining the technique and products used. There was never any pressure to purchase anything, it was not about sales, but about helping me achieve the look I wanted. I came shopping here trying to find a few things I needed to restock on ... concealer, foundation, mascara... I wanted to try blushes too but after trying a couple foundations on my skin to see which one I liked the best with my skin type, the employees all started following me around the store and talking into their speakers right in front of me. I have been to this store many, many times. I go to this shopping plaza very often, and I have NEVER, EVER, been treated worse than in this disturbing store. I walked in as usual and I was just browsing the lipgloss choices. Meanwhile, 2 female employees were watching me shop the whole time. They didn't even ask if I needed anything, they just stared at me with arms crossed and followed me around the store while I read package labels! While all of this was happening, a large group of young girls who seemed no older than 10 years old waltzed in and started chaos in the store. They looked quite suspicious and I even saw one put some merchandise into her purse. The employees did absolutely nothing, and instead focused on me the whole time. The girls were messing with test products, and one even shoved me out of the way, almost knocked my cane from under me - and almost made me fall over! I am in a boot, and just got shoved, how inconsiderate! There were absolutely no parents in sight. The workers weren't even paying attention to these young rebels. I am beyond upset and when I was about to leave the store without my product- because of how distraught I was- one of the employees asked me if I found everything alright in a VERY condescending tone. This used to be my go to Sephora. I couldn't even shop in peace. Emily would not leave me alone and kept trying to get me to buy products I was not interested in. And the weird part was, it was busy and the store was full of ten year olds so I was shocked the employees wouldn't keep their attention on them rather than someone who knows exactly what they're looking for. I came here yesterday with my friend and was treatly so disrespectfully by the employees. I was trying to look at a section ( which by the way everything was out of place the employees do not organize the products they just stand around and chat) when this one older woman was helping a customer. they couldnt even be bothered to say excuse me and shoved me out of the way so they could look at the products. I stood there for like 10 minutes dumbfounded waiting for the employee to move tf out of my way so i could continue browsing the section I ORIGINALLY WAS STANDING IN. but the employee purposely blocked me. This employee also clearly saw me struggling to find prodcuts because of how disorganized everything was, and wouldn't be bothered either to help. No one offered help and ignored my friend and I. I asked an employee walking by for help she couldnt even be BOTHERED TO STOP SPEED WALKING AWAY FROM US. she turned around and just said quickly "we dont carry that brand here" continues to speed walk away from me with an attitude. Instead of stopping to help me like a normal fucking employee, or help me find an alternative product if felt like she was literally running away to avoid helping me for two minutes. Overall terrible customer service in this store, rude employees, and not my first time having this experience at this location. Also, maybe a tip, hire kinder employees who arent karens and actually want to help the customers. I made a last minute brow tutorial with a Sephora pro. I am so glad I got Codey, she's awesome! I booked my appointment online literally the night before and got lucky I was able to be seen the following morning as they book out quickly. Codey was nothing short of Patient, confident and very informative. I did not feel rushed at all. She explained everything to me from what brow pencil to use, how to decide on the right colors for my skin complexion and even emailed me all the products that were used to do my eyebrows. Her next appointment arrived and she was almost finished with me and informed me not to worry she was going to finish on me and take her time until I fully understood how to do it on my own. She answered all my questions and allowed me to watch her do every SINGLE step. Also the best part, mini tutorials are FREE! You cannot beat the quality and service you get for zero dollars! They also offer free 45 minutes classes every few weeks open to the public if you're interested in learning anything specific about how to do's for makeup, you just sign up online! This Sephora location is not as large as most but they have a free parking lot and many other stores to shop and restaurants to check out. read more

Disappointed in my experience at Sephora today. Typically when I go to Sephora I enjoy chatting with the employees because they are incredibly knowledgeable about skin care products. I am a flight attendant and use a TON of skincare and makeup products for my job so I am a big customer at Sephora. Today, I was followed around the store by blatantly obvious employees pretending to fix things where I was shopping. Hey, I may be in workout clothes, but I usually spend hundreds of dollars per visit on products and I might have today if I hadn't been so off-put by the service. Olivia, the cashier didn't even look up when I checked out. When I asked if there were any samples, she once again didn't even look up and flatly said "I do not." No apology, no friendliness. I was really surprised by Olivia's response because in the past at other Sephora locations, if the cashier doesn't have any samples (which is rare) they ALWAYS apologize, and say that they'd be happy to make me a sample of anything in the store. I love getting samples because I have very sensitive skin and have ended up buying many of the products I've sampled when they've worked for me. I think the bottom line here, is you can never judge a book by its cover and for that reason you should treat all customers with respect. When I feel followed around a store, it makes me feel incredibly off put. I will probably choose another Sephora for my shopping experience next time. read more

This location is my least favorite Sephora. I avoid it at all costs. I have never felt welcome in this store. I'm a Rouge level member-which only means I shop Sephora a lot. Not once has an associate helped me pick something out. I only go here if I'm repurchasing something so I can get in and out. I've spoken with customer service and the district manager about the poor service here and haven't noticed any improvements. FALSE ADVERTISING! Buyer beware! I went in this store to buy a pro brush which an associate then ordered for me online because they were sold out in store. After the order was complete, I was told that it was not half off even though there was a sign that said "50% off pro brushes". When I asked to speak to a manager, she informed me that it was on select brushes. I told here there was no asterisk or disclosure that said as such and that it was false advertising. Her response? "I know. You can wait for the package and then return it." She didn't take the sign down, nor did she try to make it right by honoring the advertised price. Shame on you Sephora Lynnfield! I frequent the Sephora in Market Street as I work in Lynnfield and live close by. The customer service is horrendous 100% of the time, with the exception of the gentleman that works in the Skin Care department (He is the only person the star is for). You walk in and get ignored, if you ask a question they give you a short answer and if you ask where a certain product is they point across the room rather than walk you there - all without making eye contact. I get all of my beauty products there- makeup, skin and hair. I usually go in with one of my co-workers and we always end up joking that a job requirement for working there must be terrible customer service. I now just google reviews on a new product I am interested in rather than ask a professional because I don't pester them by doing their job. It's honestly worth the hassle of driving to the Sephora at the North Shore Mall because that staff shows passion for their job and is happy to do it. read more

When a store has everything you need! I'm in love. The only issue is with the staff. I get different service based on how I look. If my hair is freshly blow dried and I have a fully made-up face I tend to attract more people asking me if I need help than if I throw my hair up and go in without makeup. I feel the service team should review how to approach customers who may appear different from the dolled up look....we all have needs and normally I'm spending at least $100 a visit there. read more

The associate who helped me find my product was fantastic, but the cashier seemed to hate her job, hate customers or both. I took all of 30 seconds to choose a points reward item, and I could tell she had no patience. I am a Rouge customer and not only did she not acknowledge my status, she didn't thank me for my purchase or even wish me a good day. I have visited several Sephora's over the years and am always impressed by the helpfulness and knowledge of the staff. I found my most recent visit to this store to be less than ideal. I asked the sales girl for a few suggestions, and they basically told me that what I was looking for didn't exist... but that we could look around. Together, we perused the multiple brands of cosmetics and i was more successful searching out my items of interest on my own. I felt that the girl helping me almost gave me an attitude for having better success than her. Best Sephora hands down! This is the only staff I've had consistently pleasant experiences with at a Sephora. The second you walk in, someone kindly greets you and asks if you need any help. Employees are always walking around seeing if you need help finding anything, but never pressure you to buy anything. This is the only location that doesn't give you a dirty look when you walk in with no makeup on, and when you come in with makeup on, they always compliment you. I'm such a product junkie, so of course I have the store memorized with where everything is, but it's nice to know a friendly employee is there to help if you need it. read more

Went to Sephora for a Full-Face Makeover on Saturday with Shannon and had a great experience. She was both perceptive and insightful. I don't really know very much about makeup and usually keep it pretty simple with drug-store products, but I was going out later that evening to celebrate my birthday so I wanted to look my best. Shannon did a great job of helping me figure out how I wanted my makeup to look despite my lack of knowledge on the subject and was very patient with me trying to choose a lipcolor, showing me multiple brands and shades in the color range that I was going for until we found my absolute favorite. She was also very pleasant to talk to, which helped make the experience all the more enjoyable. I left my appointment feeling beautiful and confident and excited to try out some new products on my own! read more

Trust me, I've had my fair share of rude employees throughout the years of shopping at this company - from when I couldn't afford many items back in my high school days until now. While I completely understand the poor reviews Sephora usually gets, I have to disagree with the one this specific location got. I've been in here twice when I used to work in the North Shore area. On both occasions, I was always acknowledged by every employee in the store (extremely rare) even when I look like total crap with no makeup on. While they didn't have the specific item in stock that, the employees still engaged in conversation and didn't try to sell me other things. It's hard to review Sephora because you're not always going to get consistent service at all locations but overall, I was satisfied with this one. read more

i am a VIB customer and frequent Sephora. Love all the products! I have shopped at many of your locations, Burlington, Peabody, Boston, etc. Lynnfield is by far the worst. Terrible customer service, if you would call it that. I have been in this location several times because it close to my job. Everytime I have went in to this location (at least 5 times) I have been ignored by salespeople who prefer to chat and do their own makeup. When I have asked questions in regard to product I feel as though I am interrupting and have been given short, quick, agitated answers, and just a point in the direction of where the product is. I am absolutely done with this company. I have cashed out my remaining VIB points and will not be back again. Keep in mind that I have spent thousands of dollars over the years at Sephora for any and all beauty needs. I have been to this and the north shore mall locations multiple times and each visit ends pretty miserably. The customer service at these stores is abominable. I have gotten rude responses every time I have asked any question, as if my asking them to do their jobs is an inconvenience. Well I am done with that. This last particular experience was the final nail in the coffin. My mum went in to purchase eyeshadow a few days ago and came home with a palate that was all matte and didn't realize. I mentioned this and that I would love to go help pick one out with her but our schedules were conflicting. So today, 8/6/16 my mum went in and was asked if she needed help. She said that she needed to return the palate and exchange it for a palate that has similar colors but with shimmer. The guy who worked there responded pretty agitatedly with: that one doesn't come with shimmer. And granted that's true my mum didn't realize and thought that the second palate did. So he suggested they go over to look and starts walking away from where the palates were and my mum said no they're over here and he said no they weren't. (They were where she was saying) but none the less she didn't know there wasn't shimmer in that particular shadow set but took it and walked away because he was very condescending and rude. Fast forward 4 hours when I return to the store with my mum to get her what she really wants and it was awful. We walk around looking at a couple of palates my mum picked one she liked and we asked if they had more and the girl working opened the drawer and said no. So we start looking for other similar colors and make our way over to another section find another we liked and opened the drawer below to see if it was there as it was not stocked. (I realize now that this was a problem but since the last person who we asked just popped it open we didn't know it was an issue-- thinking along the lines of Victoria's Secret and their drawer system) well the manager (we now know that she's the manager) came up aggressively demanding to know what we were doing and what we were looking for (we didn't touch anything in the drawer at all it was just open-- still wrong but nothing damaging) and we asked if they had what we wanted and she pretty loudly goes, "NO! I can order it for you," but we said no thanks and walked away. As we approached another section she comes back around and kind of sharply suggests she could show us something similar again and I said "no thanks, we don't want your help." She looks over at another employees and says "oh they don't want my help..." In a demeaning tone. My mum hasn't said anything and already feels pretty awful from her first visit here today says something along the lines of you know you were just really rude to us so-- and the manager cuts her off and yells that she wasn't rude and that we were digging around in the drawers and that she can't have that. The entire store is now looking at us and we just walk to the counter to check out. I mention that I want to cash in all of my points and that I will not be shopping there anymore and the woman at the counter was very apologetic really trying to turn the visit around and even asked if we'd like to speak to the manager who is just right there, of course now we see the woman who yelled at us who was standing close by to hear what we were saying. We said no thanks she was the one who was rude and we left. Never again Sephora. Over the years I have given you all of my money for beauty products and have tolerated the rude attitudes and snotty behavior but that towards my mum and you have lost me as a customer. My mum and I will tell EVERYONE We know to never shop with you again. Will it make a difference? Probably not but we are through. read more

A sales woman approached me and I told her what I was shopping for and she offered to assist and even make up my face as a preview with several different products. I was very clear - I prefer a natural look - soft colors - nothing heavy. Well... Let me just say this....If I was going to a wedding at the Jersey Shore with Jowwow and Snookie - I would have fit in perfectly. Lady....Fake and Bake and Cleopatra eyes is NOT a natural look. My experience was similar to the other posters for this location. The last 3 times I have been to this location I have been there at relatively slow times (Sundays, evenings, etc.) where there have been more staff than shoppers and each time have not been greeted with so much as a hello let alone actual help. Each time what I've been looking for has been out of stock and not once was there an offer to ship the item to me. Being out of stock is one thing, poor customer service is another. Other than the girls working at the checkout counter everyone else in this store seemed more interested in chatting with each other about their plans for when work was over than actually doing any work. I became allergic to a brand of lipstick and they not only exchanged it all, some without receipt, but helped me find matches for my favorite colors from other brands, staying 20 minutes past closing! I never write reviews but I have had 2 great experiences at Sephora in Lynnfield at Market Street. I went in with lots of question about skin care for a women of my age and received great information and tips. More than one sales women jumped in and helped me out. I mentioned that I bought a whole skin care kit in February for over $100 and was not really wowed by it. The supervisor told me I could return it and that they could find the sale through my beauty insider account (this was because I throw out the boxes). Her name was Courtney, and she was true to her word I went back the next day and she remembered me. She smiled when she saw me and knew why I was there. She jumped in at the register and helped the sales clerk do the return. She guided me with lots of advise on products for someone my age. I left with a new line of products and I can already tell you how much I love it! I work for an airline and I am in customer service. I appreciated all the help I got this week on both visits to Sephora. The first women (I wish I could remember her name) worked in the skincare area and was amazing she even told me her schedule so I could see her again. She up sample creams for me and told me the benefits of each one. I will be returning to Sephora in Lynnfield very soon.
