    First off I like their Christmas sampler, that allows you to try a variety of colognes, and is a voucher for usually a 1.6 oz or so product. That's a brilliant idea. Also I really like and value the staff here. This location has really has exceptional employees. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. If you're new or experienced with fragrances, this is a good place to roll to. What bothers me is an opinion. Cramped quarters and often they're out of stock. I'm sure that this being in a mall, must be challenging for ordering. More of my issue is the claustrophobia, and that's on my end mostly. I prefer more "open" stores designs if that makes sense. If you're in the mall, go here for colognes gents. Am glad they stock a fair amount of designers, but they could get niche for some positive change.

    Visited there in the morning. Super nice staff. I don't really know much about makeup. I'm only a beginner at skincare. I wanted to find out warm/cool for my skin tone so I can go on for my further purchase of makeup products. One staff (forgot to ask her name) was very informative and explained things with ease so that a person like me can understand easily. She also introduced me with beauty classes that I can be familiar with products and able to practice with it. I'm going back hopefully sooner for my tinted moisturizer and tinted lip bomb!

    When I was in college in Fairfax, my sort-of girlfriend worked in this store, and it showed. She was a make up expert. I also semi-dated a girl who worked at a Mac Make Up store too. I'm not sure if I'm just attracted to girls that work in make up stores, or if all Fairfax girls have a job at a make up store. In any case, while the products they sell are good, the prices are insane. Especially at these mall locations, where it seems they charge exorbitant amounts for absolutely everything. Service is fairly nice though.

    They offer such a wide array of make-up. Skip out on the drugstore/cvs type of place, and head over to sephora. You can sample just about everything to make sure its a good match for your skin tone. The makeup artists are helpful, but sometimes I am not convinced they really know what they're talking about. Prices are reasonable. Tons of fragrances to chose from as well. Make sure you go in there knowing exactly what you want. There's tons of distractions...meaning you will end up buying way more than what you had intended to if not mindful!!

She walked us through the history of perfumery and the categories of scents. We were free to sniff at any and all of the scents as we desired. We were then off to create two perfumes that we wanted. The only limitation was our own imagination! I set my mind on a summer one (Spring day with fresh flowers and clean linen) and winter one (eating my favorite cookies near the Christmas tree). It was such a blast attempting to create these scents and smelling how the different scents would work with each other. Despite the tall order, I was able to concoct the exact perfumes in my mind's eye with Sherry's help. My hubby created a beachy evening one and a mulled wine one that smell amazing, too. This was such a unique, memorable experience and I especially loved the shared experience with my partner. I love perfume and have a few scents on rotation so it was really neat to learn more about the craft and create my own. I can't recommend this studio enough!

Regarding that other boutique, I had a great experience in person when visiting Portland, but I had issues with my online order going through and once I got that worked out they didn't include the samples that were promised. So the next time I was ready to order a niche perfume I had sampled at that shop, I found it at Ariel Shoshana's website and ordered from there and so glad I did! I have a new favorite niche fragrance shop! I will absolutely be ordering more in the future and perfume collectors purchases can really add up! (No literally they answered the email within minutes of me sending it and on a Saturday no less) So I've had people try to match this fragrance for me in person and sight unseen (or scent unsniffed) the staff here got closer than anyone else ever had!! I couldn't believe it! I also love how if you order online, you get samples of your fragrances so you dont have to open the bottom and compromise your return, in the event you are dissatisfied. Anyway I've sinced ordered numerous times and have always been beyond thrilled!!

They are fantastic on shipping times and they carry authentic niche perfumes that may be difficult to find elsewhere. I've also noted that they usually have things in stock, even when other places don't: case in point Loumari's Porthole, which I will discuss later. First, I want to discuss their customer service. I placed my first order with four decants; one was a 5ml of Valaya Exclusif, the rest were 2mls. However, when they arrived, I didn't notice that they were all 2mls. It took months before I started cataloging my perfumes on a spreadsheet, and only then did I realize that I had been sent a 2m instead of a 5ml. I emailed PdF explaining what had happened including pictures of my order and what the sent. I asked if they could send me a bottle with the additional 3 mls that I was missing. Instead, they apologized and said they would send an additional 5ml, rather than the missing 3ml; meaning I ended up with 7 mls instead of my original order of 5 mls. This interaction made me appreciate and respect the company because they own up to their mistakes and take care of their customers. One of my next orders included a decant of Vanilla Powder Extrait. However, when it arrived, the printed label just said Vanilla Powder. I had previously ordered Vanilla Powder EDP, but it was also just labeled Vanilla Powder. So, I was unsure if I had been sent a second EDP in this order, or whether I was sent the Extrait I had actually ordered. I emailed customer service and they confirmed that I had been sent the Extrait even though the label didn't specify. So, I manually wrote Extrait on the label to prevent confusion with my other EDP sample. Their labels are literally my only gripe. I wish that they included more than just the perfume name--eg. Including Extrait/EDP/EDT would prevent confusion; having the brand, the decant size, and the date of the decant would also be great. But these are all things I can 'fix' manually by just writing them on the label. I've also had to manually write over some of the perfume names because they fade on the newer white labels. The old clear labels haven't fade. I manually written over them and then taped over that to seal them. After the above orders, I read that they have FREE brand samples, separate from their in-house hand decants, which cost $. So, I emailed them asking about the free samples, and about a promo code I had received from their marketing email. They didn't respond right away, which is very unlike them, so I emailed again the following week. I received a response apologizing as they had been very busy (I believe it was Valentines orders), and they explained that some brands don't allow higher discount codes, but they provided some other codes to try, and they provided their phone number and told me to text them directly when I place my full bottle order and they would add some free samples to my order. I had Loumari Porthole in my cart, but delayed ordering it because I wanted to make sure I didn't want to add anything else to my order before I placed it. Of course, when I went back to my cart to order it a week or so later, it was listed out of stock but available for pre-order. I checked several other websites, and no one had it in stock. This is something I've noticed about PdF, which other sellers don't do. They will tell you when something is unavailable (truly out of stock) vs currently not in stock but available for pre-order from their next shipment. AND they often have things in stock that others don't. Instead of preordering, I decided to check the website every now and again, and the day it came back in stock I ordered it with a 15% off code. I then text the number the customer service person gave me, and they replied immediately --even though it was Mother's Day weekend--and said would add some samples to it for me. WELL....I got my order today and along with with FB, and a 5ml decant I purchased to carry in my purse, it arrived with 7 free brand samples! These aren't just your normal run of the mill samples, they are expensive niche perfume samples (from the brands; not decants) including: Roja - Isola Snow (Parfum) Xerjoff - Torino24 (EDP) Vilhelm Parfumerie - Mango Skin (EDP) Fugazzi- Angel Dust (extrait) Matiere Premier - Vanilla Powder (Extrait) Matiere Premier - Crystal Saffron (Extrait) Essential Parfums - Bois Imperial (Extrait) Honestly, I couldn't be happier. I love this company. Yes there are other stores out there (Lucky Scent/Scent Bar; Twisted Lily; etc), but I adore Parfums de France above all others because of their customer service, attention to detail, glass (usually metal topped) spray decant bottles, non gouged prices, frequent discount codes AND FREE fast shipping (their order total for FREE shipping is lower than any of the other stores I mentioned).     1 Star -- Buyer Beware: Defective Merchandise, Zero Accountability, and a Company in Active…read moreBankruptcy I have been a loyal Neiman Marcus customer for years and have made multiple high-end purchases at their Tysons Corner location -- we are talking about items in the hundreds and even thousands of dollars. I am writing this review because I have reached my limit with this company and I feel it is my duty to warn fellow shoppers before they make the same mistakes I have. Let me start with my most recent issue. I purchased a Veronica Beard blazer -- a beautiful jacket with gold buttons that cost $800. I wore it to a formal event, one of the gold buttons literally fell off and dropped to the floor. Thank God I heard it hit the floor or I would have lost it entirely -- and these are unique, distinctive gold buttons that cannot simply be replaced anywhere. On an $800 designer blazer, this is completely unacceptable. This is not a $30 jacket from a fast fashion retailer. This is supposed to be luxury. And this is not an isolated incident. I have purchased multiple items from Neiman Marcus -- some costing thousands of dollars -- and have encountered defective merchandise more than once. What makes it worse is not just that the products fail, but that Neiman Marcus absolutely does not stand behind what they sell. They do not honor their guarantees. They do not offer reassurances. They do not make it right. They will dispute you if you escalate to the Better Business Bureau rather than work with you in good faith toward a reasonable resolution. I have experienced this firsthand. They will not take back defective merchandise. I attempted to return defective shoes -- and they refused to take them back even the next day. The next day. On defective shoes. That tells you everything you need to know about how this company values its customers. I am now sitting at a tailor out of pocket paying to have my $800 blazer repaired because Neiman Marcus offers no path to resolution that is worth the time, gas, and emotional energy it takes to even attempt it. I know from experience that driving all the way out to Tysons only to be told no -- as they have done to me before -- is not something I am willing to subject myself to again. So I am fixing their defective product myself, on my own dime. Shoppers need to know that Neiman Marcus is also currently in active bankruptcy. Before you spend your hard-earned money -- especially on high-ticket items -- please do your research and understand that you are taking on real risk. If something goes wrong, and based on my experience it very well might, you will be on your own. There are no guarantees, no accountability, and no customer care to speak of. Shop elsewhere. There are retailers who actually stand behind what they sell and treat their customers with the respect that this level of spending deserves. Neiman Marcus is no longer one of them.

The response, it would take a while and no,, they don't manually do returns. The whole return priced took just under 30 minutes. Wouldn't have been so bad if they acknowledged the time direct waiting or even had the courtesy to say thank you for waiting. How about some training on how to manage waiting customers when there's a problem? Now, I see why this location has such a poor yelp rating. I came in at 8:34 pm, still waiting at 8:49 to make a return, on a Wednesday night. Finally, return processed at 9:01.
