The only reason i am giving a good review is because CHIARRA was charming, kind, professional, knowledgeable and natural ! There were two girls at the entrance that could have care less about our needs. One was a fake " blonde orang " long hair girl. I asked her for help and she was annoyed when I asked her for a different style brush for the eyebrow brush. She actually left me. Haha. She was excited to get back to her conversation with the other girl about her personal life. Chiarra was the polar opposite. Nit only was she already busy because she was on register but when she was free she helped us a total of three times. She knew her brands WELL and was able to point us in the direction of what we were looking for. One of the things we wanted was not there so after she helped more people on the register she actually searched online for us to give us more options. She was incredible. She went above and beyond. And in addition to that (!) she also was able to make the entire interaction personable.. she shared her experience with France (we are French), and she went to school in Berkeley and i live in the bay area so we talked about that.. snd she did that while she multi tasked and got my mom set up. She was honestly awesome and professional and kind and could teach the other girls a few lessons..! read more

The team at Sephora, is very knowledgeable about their products. ASHLEY, the manager and MEGAN, her coworker helped me find a face powder in a brand called... "KOSAS" (which is clean... it doesn't have any chemicals) and they helped me out with the products which I needed to set my curls after using the Dyson blow dryer! They know their stuff!!! I was in and out of there in five minutes! Much better than wandering around the aisles aimlessly, not knowing which products to select. read more

Well, it's Christmas time and I don't normally go to Sephora, but my wife had been saying that her skin was abnormally dry. So I don't want my beautiful wife's skin to be dry so I thought well let's see what Sephora has. I walked in and was greeted by a very intelligent knowing employee named Ashley who understood immediately what I needed. She took me through a few products and then recommended the two that I bought one of the body lotion was a frankincense smell, but truthfully it's pretty tame and it's wonderful. My makeup artist was Ashley. She was professional, listened to my request of a "smokey eye" technique with blue eye shadow and gave me eye lash options. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she delivered to the best of her ability. It was for my niece's wedding that day and the makeup lasted all night. read more

Birthday month! Time to pick up my free gift. As I entered the store I was greeted by several staff members. I love to see what's new and spend my time walking around looking at everything. I asked a an employee if they had the Sun safety kit (iykyk) in stock and he happily checked for me. They did not, I saw it online but didn't get it this year. If they'd had it I would have purchased it but I took it as a sign I didn't need it. I waffled between the Kerastase and the Mario gifts. I have a large bottle of the kerastase oil so opted for the Mario lip kit per their recommendation. Aside from me being indecisive it was a quick and easy transaction. Everyone was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Sephora is such a fun store. read more

A super convenient Sephora! Really easy to find parking in the large plaza it's located in. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and so many associates came to check on us during our time in store. Everyone was very helpful! Sephora has a great selection of beauty products from perfume to foundation. Encinitas location lacks product replenishment and has some empty shelves. Quality is good but quantity is not. Awww I'm kinda sad to see this place with such a low starred review. This is my local Sephora so I frequent it a lot of my re-ups on makeup. I've been to this location a dozen times and all of my visits have been pleasant. Some visits better than others based on the staff there but I was compelled to write a review after today's visit! I've been using the same makeup more or less for that past 15 years. Makeup forever has changed their palette coloring which changed my color which ended up changing my face. I've been struggling finding the correct color for my face my past few visits and have been trying to figure out a new brand to work with. I came by today to return my recent purchase. It was a color that didn't match well again. As I was standing in an aisle, looking like a lost puppy, Vanessa came by and asked if I needed any help. I had shared that my friend recommended Charlotte Tilbury and I didn't know where that section was. She then made some suggestions based on what I mentioned and she also knew why my previous purchase didn't work the best on me. She is probably the only staff member at Sephora that had really taken her time on me and had a lot of knowledge on skin types and what was best for me. She also recommended another serum that aided with my puffy eyes because I'm always so tired with my kids. She had shared that a little goes a long way and made sure I knew how to properly apply my new products. My skin looks flawless today. I went home and tried on the products. When I first walked in I was greeted right away. The first gal : didn't catch her name was ok and answered a question but didn't follow through with walking us to the product . Mikayla on the other hand was exceptionally professional and joyfully helpful. Not only once but twice we needed her to check back stock and she was more than eager to make sure our shopping experience was on point . I was super excited when this Sephora opened as it's closer to me than the other ones I frequented. It's a typical Sephora with isles of makeup, skin care goods and perfume/colognes from most brands. The ladies that work here are friendly and some are very helpful. During sales, even when you arrive first on the first day of the sale, certain items are completely out of stock and you're asked to order online instead. That's the reason folks don't want to shop in person anymore. I like getting out of the house, playing with makeup before the purchase. I hope in person shopping doesn't completely die out because of online shopping. They're not cheap, so we want to buy what we really like/want after trying it on. Is this an amazing Sephora with bunch of people that really know makeup and how to use it? No! Not even close. As most places we shop/eat are short staffed these days, I get why some of the employees here look more like customers than employees. I'm being generous with the 4 stars as I know it's a fairly new store and I'm hoping for improvements in the future. read more

I've frequented this location on a number of occasions as my mom lives right up the street off El Camino. I've always been warmly greeted by staff when entering the store and the staff seem engaged and knowledgeable. There's also no shortage of folks at the ready to help with questions. The selection of brands and products is robust for the size of the store, and they've always been in stock with the skincare or makeup items I need :) As an aside, people clearly don't understand how to fairly review a business. I am a fan of Sephora stores. Their product line is extensive and always updated. But even in a universe of star stores, Sephora, Encinitas, California, is a bit of a super nova. I was greeted at the door with smiles and appropriate direction. Full service, and fully staffed ANYTHING is hard to find at present, but this store offers it all. Lucky me, I was there for full face makeup and Mariam was the artist who "drew my name." She was a delight in every way. I appreciated her knowledge of product, her willingness to teach as well as apply, and her lovely demeanor. I left with product in hand, and looking much better than when I walked in. I walked aimlessly around the store for 30 minutes and wasn't asked if I needed help until a sales girl finally came up to me. She was extremely helpful and helped guide me to what i was looking for. About 5 minutes after, I opened up one of the bottom drawers under the perfume section, not knowing that I was not allowed to be doing so (have done this plenty of times and have never been spoken to) and an employee came over and loudly scolded me in a condescending tone like she was on a power trip. I didn't even end up getting what I needed after because I felt embarassed. I have never left a review for anything in my life and this trip to Sephora made me want to. When I went in to exchange it I had to speak with three different people, two of whom were managers (one was Melanie) and they stared me down in front of a line of people only to say no. The minute I walked into this Sephora I felt so uncomfortable. The workers did not feel welcoming and kept watching me from the corner of their eyes. After I made my return to see what I could buy with the money I just got back but when I started to browse I was met with even more stares and side eyes. I will most likely not go to this location again. I would recommend going somewhere else because it's apparent that you cannot go and browse because people will constantly have their eyes on you. read more

Customer service/sales agents hover way too much. There's a greeter at the door that asks what you're coming in for, which I find a bit off-putting. Sometimes a girl just wants to browse or research products to later make an informed purchase. I can't have a leisurely shopping experience at this branch because I'm constantly approached asking if I need any help, and God-forbid I leave empty handed. The greeter will interrogate me about why I didn't find what I was looking for. If feels as if this branch is overly concerned with meeting quotas and turning over customers as quickly as possible. read more

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES BEWARE!! I really don't know what to do. There are some really good and amazing people working here. Unfortunately there are more dirty looks, eye rolls, condescending attitudes I'm forced to endure as a new frequent customer with disabilities. There's a few ladies that will mess with you if they feel like it. I am in a wheelchair with degenerative conditions. My current wheelchair doesn't accommodate my needs, so it's very difficult for me to sit in it for any prolonged period of time. Plus the store is so chaotic I literally feel sicker being in there at all. Because of that fact I do the majority of my shopping online to avoid any problems. I call ahead of time so that I can prepare them for the help that I will require in shopping and/or returning products. They will still choose to mess with my 10 yr old son who sometimes has to go in and handle transactions on my behalf, and/or force me to come into the store which can trigger a bad episode in public. Arguing with me about facts of my situation over the phone, which is very unprofessional. I was forced to explain my health situation just to get the respect I deserve. Whom else has to do that? And they still don't care. This store will bring out your online pick-up order to your car, yet if you are nearly a ROUGE, disabled, and parked right in front of their door needing quick assistance... They will refuse to come to me for any valid reason. They act really Natzi about returns, gift cards, and store credits. They lie and manipulate as if they get a kick out of forcing others to suffer more, and needlessly. Why does Sephora even have store credit? It's absolutely ridiculous that you can only use them inside the store. Those cards shouldn't even exist. They will give me store credit cards regardless of the return being within the proper timeframe. They know I cannot shop inside the store so it's done on purpose. I thought hard and waited a long time before I wrote this review. I really wanted to give them 5 stars. The service I get from the few wonderful ladies there is definitely 5 star service. I just cannot rate the store 5 stars if those other people are there ruining it for everyone. This is not the only Sephora store that has employees that behave this way towards the disabled. I would like to give a shout out to store manager Dixie and a few other employees, I will update with soon. I really appreciate you being professional and considerate when dealing with me and my scary health situation. Never coming here again. I don't support a business who steals from its customers. Long story short, I purchased a gift card and they charged me for it. I gifted it and the gift recipient said they went to a store and the card was empty and the store employee kept it and threw it out. When I complained about this and asked for them to fix this they couldn't do anything about it because the card was thrown out by one of their own. So shady. I can't imagine they don't keep track or record of their transactions. So when they sell an item they do have an item number that's connected to the transaction but not the gift card number? None of this makes sense, but this is a total scam and someone definitely has the money from this gift card. Shady shady. read more

I would give 0 star if I had the option. Most of the girls working in this store are rude, stuck up and feel superior than you. Had an issue with a purchase from another store. They make a mistake and makes you feel like a criminal for wanting your money back. I will contact corporate as soon as I can and report that store. Also one of my item was damaged and she made me feel bad for returning, kind of implying I damaged it . They all need some serious training in costumer services and math. read more
