I braced myself for what the mall was like today. It was packed but honestly, not too terrible and Sephora was no exception, IMO. Even though the store was packed, the staff was still walking around and trying to help and answer customers' questions. In my two interactions with two different reps, they were both helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. One sold me on one of the at-home peels - when she saw me with the ones I had in my hand - I'm excited to try them. As mentioned, the store was buzzing and very busy, but the checkout line moved very quickly, so they were really well organized and efficient! The check out rep was also very friendly and I was also able to use my $10 bonus points (which always end up just translating into removing the taxes... ) I will return for sure. read more

Customer service is nonexistent at this location. It's really bad I've visited multiple times and no one has ever greeted me or offered help. During one visit I got to the store before the doors opened to purchase makeup tape before a trip. Upon entry the young lady who opened the door never said anything to the 5 customers who entered the store. I couldn't find the tape so I then asked a passing employee walking by and she simply pointed me in the direction of the item, no attempt to help me find it. I would avoid this Sephora at all cost. It's so small and the customer service chillle, THE GHETTO. You should only come to this one if you know exactly what you need, and know where everything is. The employees never want to help, I understand that they're things that need to get done behind the scenes but if you're on the floor and a customer needs help you should help them-- I'm only giving them two stars because I got my makeup done here once and the girl that did my make up did a WONDERful job. read more

I normally wouldn't write a review for a mall store, but my past two experiences here were both ridiculously bad. I've literally come in here twice looking for something this location happened to have and the regular free-standing location in the mall did not. The first time I had to stop an employee who was so totally clueless I don't even think she knew where she was. The second time the three employees were just standing around chit chatting. I asked for help and they looked more annoyed than anything. The staff here are garbage. Most of the time it's just 2-3 people who look bored and would rather talk to each other than help anyone. Save yourself the time and order online. I get it you're a mall store and you hate your job, but common courtesy dictates you should at the very least be cordial to patrons of the business. All the ladies in this store are really Sweet and they do try their best to help you get what you want. Although I won't come back to this particular store , the girls were great... This Sephora is HORRIBLE service, I never been to a worst Sephora before. I walked in with my friend simply looking around , finding things to buy, my friend asked where the buxom lip gloss are the employee just pointed at it and continue walking away rudely. I had a decent experience here. I got a gift that just was not for me. So instead of me embarrassing myself, I just went to get store credit for the product I received. I waited in line for quite a while during the holiday season, which was expected. About fifteen minutes later, I was seen at the counter. The Sales Associate examined the palette, just to make sure that I didn't use it. I got my store credit on a card, it was a quick transaction, and I was happy to leave in a quick and timely manner. Absolute TERRBLE customer service . I went into this store location today at 11:00 A.M. Many associates and few customers . I needed to purchase several products to make gift set's for 8 people . The very first thing that I noticed when walking in were the store associates paired off by two in corners " gossiping " It was obvious that this was my first time in that location and needed assistance , I walked in circles and the associates saw me especially the Spanish kid who was busy looking into the large mirror fixing his hair and make-up and gossiping about a fellow employee. He is young I'll give him that but unacceptable behavior none the less . I continued around looking and reading product ingredients and called out to two associates both of whom ignored me . One busy associate was in front of me and I said " Good morning, will you help me with a few under eye serums and creams " She didn't give me time to let her know what the concerns were and ingredients that I didn't want . She simply grabbed the closest jar and said this is our best seller and walked away, I think had I mentioned that I was using my Platinum AMEX and making a very large purchase I would have gotten attention . I walked around for 40 mins disgusted at the low level of customer service that I placed my basket on the floor and walked out. They saw me and just didn't care . They lost an easy $1000.00 sale and loyal customer . The regional manager may want to plan an unannounced visit by someone unknown to the employees and also hire some associates older than the staff that I saw all in the 20-30 range . I'm not one to leave negative reviews but a lot of the workers at this location seem to have no enthusiasm nor do they want to do their jobs properly. They have snug attitudes and turn their nose up at anyone who walks in without makeup on as if they're better simple because they wear makeup everyday. When asking them for advice or about certain techniques, it's always quite obviously that they have no idea what they're talking about. Of course there are a few employees or are actually helpful and charismatic like someone working in customer service should be. However the bad ones overshadow the good ones. Sephora please start hiring employees who only have experience as cashiers and doing their own makeup based off of instagram and focus more on hiring people who are actually knowledgeable about makeup and skincare! read more

SEPHORA INSIDE JCPENNY; WHICH IS INSIDE QUEENS CENTER MALL. Get your items at a regular sephora store. Items are limited, short on staff and not accommodating. Originally I ordered a Clarisonic online and after a month of use, it continued to break me out. So I decided to return it. This Sephora inside JcPenny will find any excuse possible to deny a refund. So my Clarisonic came with some samples and ofcourse, after a month those small samples are done (last about 2 weeks of use). They refused to refund me because the samples are no longer there. So I took it to a local Sephora store and they gladly gave me a refund without question/comments. read more

Love how helpful Andrea was! In my 28 years of life, I have never been able to find a foundation that matches my skin tone and even though I was in a mask, Andrea was spot on. I also don't tend to spend a lot of money on my makeup in one sitting, but Andrea asked me about my skin type and what I was looking for, went around and explained what the products did, how she felt they would work on me and also let me know which ones she personally used and liked. I ended up paying 4 times the amount I usually do, with no regret. I walked in with my bestie and we were so excited to see the new Natasha Denona palette. When we came up to the pallete my friend dident want to see the sample because it looked like shit. She was opening a new one. JuSt so she can see it. If your paying 129 plus tax for something I want to know how good it is fresh not with finger marks all over it. This employee named kris came over extremely rude and nasty talking down to us like if it was her product. I told her we understood but she dident have to be nasty. The place was empty today and I saw a rude girl push my wife out of the way to get a product and not have the courtesy to say "excuse me" or "pardon me". I hate coming to this Sephora location because no one helps you and it is a mess but I just needed to leave a review for the cashier Caitlyn (hopefully I spelled her name correctly). I went in looking for someone to help me find a great liquid eyeliner for work. Did not get much help from a girl on the floor but at the register Caitlyn made up for it. She was pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and full of smiles. She suggested the eyeliner she was wearing. TERRIBLE customer service at this location. I asked one of the make-up staff to help me find a primer, foundation, & finishing powder. I wanted to find something to cover my fine lines/wrinkles and pores. The lady said that "If you have pores you have to go get a nice facial cream and I am not going to help you find any foundation. " I said to her I was there to get a foundation not a face cream. Still her answer was NO and she said in a nasty tone that she has an appointment with another client. BULLSHIT!! The service and selection here is terrible. I received a gift and was told I could exchange the cologne at any Sephora. Before I could explain to the cashier what I wanted to do, not only did she speak a mix of Spanish and English (keep to one of the two not a mix of them) but she immediately said she couldn't return it. She claimed that they did not carry the brands...this is Sephora..they usually have the same items in most stores. I guess this is why it is within a department store. You would think that the JCP Sephora would be worse than the free standing store, but in actuality, this Sephora is MILES BETTER than the actual store in QCM. The staff is very knowledgable, and not just on their inventory, but on just plain makeup itself. I have had great customer service here and I have had some great conversations with their staff about makeup (which I love!). This one girl suggested a brand that I had never heard of a contour palette that I planned on getting. It was much cheaper than what I wanted and it works wonders. They have great staff there. There is always someone smiling and making sure that you're alright. One thing that I wish for this sephora is that I wish they had more brands in here. Because I feel like they deserve it. Horrible! Slow check out, there are never enough employees at check out always 1 or 2, not many shade varieties available, no air conditioning, music choice sucks, always crowded, no customer service employees just stand around talking to one another, only a select few help out but others do nothing. I go to this one when I need to go to Sephora and I'm around the area, but honestly it's not even worth the train fare, I'd rather go to the one located around 86th street. I've been shopping at this JcPenney since I was a toddler with my mother and never in my 20 years have i been so blatantly discriminated against at a store in my life. For a cashier (she had a brown to yellow ombre and was Hispanic/Middle Eastern descent) to leave her post to aggressively stalk me around the small sephora section as if I had been throwing items in my pocket disgusted me. I've come to this sephora on numerous occasions and never in my life have I been so blatantly disrespected. How rude can employees here actually be though? I literally went through the most unprofessional shopping experience with this Sephora. They do not know ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING. This first started 2 weeks ago when one of the employees charged me twice for one purchase. He promised me that he canceled the first transaction, but because he ran out of paper for the receipt he had to do it again. I told him to just make sure he emails me the receipt for the second time he swiped my debit card. Few days later, I realize that my account was charged twice(the amount was pending for a couple of days). I called up the store and got 3 different resolutions. One said I needed to come there in person because they need my card. One said they need to take all the info about the purchase to open a ticket to resolve the case before i come in. I then called them a couple days later to see how its going and the girl first keeps me on hold for over 7 minutes then after asking me to check my bank acct HANGS UP ON ME!! Excuse me? How was I supposed to know to check the acct if I was told that i NEEDED TO COME IN PERSON TO GET MY REFUND. OMG. NEVER GOING BACK!!!! read more
