Twice a year I need to update my foundation- sometimes I go darker and sometimes lighter depending on the season. Because my skin is older, I have to try everything on and wear it for the day. If by the time I get home, it has not slid off my face nor turned grey, and it is not caked upon my wrinkles, then I know what I want to purchase. I love Sephora because they color match you and bring out several different types of foundation from different manufacturers. They will remove your makeup and put the possible selections on for you. From there on, it is all up to you, but they do their best to assist you with making a good choice. They do give tiny samples if you need to mix two shades together. read more

I now prefer shopping online for Sephora, they offer great brands and products, but the workers are always extremely nasty and disrespectful. I always feel unwelcome when shopping at this location, I could count on my fingers how many decent experiences I've had while shopping there in person. They are always so so unhelpful, they are always giving everyone the nasty eye, and sometimes follow you around! they LOVE doing that! I don't steal, but god do they make you feel like you're somehow shoplifting just for entering the store. I went today to try and return a cleanser that my mom bought, even offered my id since we couldn't find the receipt, the manager was so rude to me, like i had walked in a fit of rage or something, i had a pair of pants in my bag that arrived with a security tag on them (this is relevant, I promise) and when I left with no successful return, the alarm went off because of the tag in the pants, I waited for about a minute to see if someone would approach me, just so I could give them peace as to why it went off. But no!!! I continued with my shopping, when I noticed that a security guy had followed me all the way to my car! Do they not check cameras? Because they would've seen I walked straight in and straight out. I feel disrespected, completely violated of my dignity and privacy, how easy could it have been to simply approach me nicely, and ask to see what was in my bag? Instead they chose to just follow me around and make me feel like a criminal! insane! what's worse is that this isn't the first time this has happened, and it will most likely not be the last! I will definitely avoid going into the physical store as much as I possibly can, this was outrageous, and completely preposterous. read more

The Staff here are darling and I love how androgynous they are. They are super friendly, quite knowledgeable, and Keen to help. They all look great and are incredibly charming. As for the shop, I love Sephora! I am a Sephora fanatic with high expectations. I am very fond of the Urban Decay, Philosophy, Drybar, Benefit, and Smashbox lines amongst others. Went to find out what was the right foundation for my skin tone and type, and Lydia was above and beyond amazing! She was incredibly engaged and asked lots of questions about my skin, my skincare routine, etc., and made sure to get a good picture of the type of foundation I wanted! She helped me choose the right foundation, and even helped me find skincare products to develop a skincare routine that would be quick and easy since I typically don't have a ton of time for skincare. She answered every single question I have since I'm a newbie at makeup and skincare, and was so understanding! She sent me home with three samples for skincare which is great so I can try them over the next few days! She labeled them, and followed up with an e-mail listing the products she sent me home with, how many times a week/day to apply, and even listed the foundation brush I was interested in just so I could have it in case I wanted to purchase it later! Definitely returning in the future and asking for her! The other store associates were lovely and engaging as well! There was another associate who would stop by the station every so often and talk to me like I was an old friend and showed me products she was testing herself! I am a very shy person, but the store associates were amazing and so sweet and genuine. Sephora is my new favorite!! read more

I am smitten by Sephora. And yes, I am a man. Get over it haha. Staff is corteous and knowledgeable. They make themselves available should you have any questions. I have never been looked at weird or ignored even though their clientele is mostly female. They are also very good at giving you perfume/cologne samples for free. The times I have wanted advice on products I have received good advice. They seem to know their stuff. The only con I'd have is that cologne is usually pricey. I order my cologne online for much less, but sometimes they have exclusive fragrances and products you can't find anywhere else. I also like they carry sample/smaller sizes of products so you can try them out before deciding to buy the full sized item. If you are looking for a nice gift for someone this is a good place to try. Their fragrance samplers and makeup sampler kits are worth it. read more

Gosh I love Sephora. I have been to Sephoras all over the US. Although this is one of the smaller locations, it is still filled to the brim with cosmetic goodies. This location is pretty tidy. However, is it is the only location that I wasn't greeted upon entering the store. As a matter of fact, I didn't have any contact with a sales associate until I was purchasing my goodies. I don't mind, because I hate being bombarded. Still, it's weird not being greeted, or asked if I need any help. So if you like that kind of thing, you might need to flag someone down. All in all tho....I will definitely be back when I'm in town. :) read more

Usually I am intimidated by massive make up stores but I had such a great experience at this store. I recently had my make up done for my wedding day and my make up artist was Sam R., SHE WAS AWESOME. I love Sephora, and always have great experiences when I go, but this time I had an especially great experience. I walked in looking for a highlighter, and walked out with $150 worth of goods, because the associate (Vanessa) was amazing! Not only was she very attentive without being overbearing, but she was also extremely knowledgable and making samples as well as giving me product demos to make sure I tried everything I was curious about. She made sure to pay attention to product ingredients, as I have very delicate skin with some allergies, and she made suggestions based on that. I also work in retail, so excellent customer service is something I always look for, and they definitely offer that here. read more

What can I say, I have always loved sephora since it opened up. I was glad when I moved to El Paso that the girls at this location let me take more than three skin care samples home so that I could see what would work best for my face in this climate. I was even reminded that I was a insider and what the return policy was in detail to some of the products I did decide to purchase. I loveeeeeeee this place but I was very bothered by the lack of options for darker toned women ! From foundation and concealer to setting powders ; there was only about 6 options in total that I could wear . I bought a setting power by cover FX which was in medium, but it was a translucent powder to I guess it worked out . read more

I have heard rumors of racism in El Paso prior to my moving out here but I refused to pre-judge. I try to keep an open mind. I've loved most of my retail/restaurant experiences in this town so far. I didn't love my experience the last few times I've been in Sephora (Cielo Vista Mall locations). I'm consistently ignored, when I asked for a sample (once) it was obvious to the sales associate that she thought it was a pain in her ass to get me one. I tried to get color matched for YSL's Touche Eclat foundation, but the 2 associates i saw they were too busy laughing and hanging out with their non-associate friends. I've also been bypassed to aid a more wealthy-looking Hispanic client (uh, I'm a doctor and i'll spend money; but I don't wear heels and rubies when i go pick up hairspray/cosmetics). And when I asked last month while checking out if the store would get the new Christian Louboutin nail lacquer, the first lady looked at me like I was from a different planet and told me she's never heard about this brand, then another said they will not be getting it because the El Paso clientele would likely not purchase it. Then I asked again this weekend of someone else working there, who was very snooty who essentially said duh, of course we are getting it in. Not friendly AT ALL. Btw, I'm a VIB customer (200 bucks from VIB Rouge). I think if possible, I will just purchase online. I absolutely loved the San Antonio Sephora and the Honolulu Sephora, and these stores were so much busier but the sales associates made you feel super welcome and would go out of their way to ensure that you purchased the right product for yourself. Sigh. Maybe things will change here. I may make a complaint on their online site. So disappointed. :-( read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE. Every. Single. Time. Never fails. First of all, whenever I have time to go to Sephora it's my day off and I do not always want to get ready. A lot of the times I decide to go without makeup to just relax and enjoy my day off. But whenever I go to Sephora without makeup the employees speak to me like I'm an idiot or give me ugly looks. Even the manager was talking to me as if I was five years old. "Do you know what primer is?" "Do you know what this is used for?" "Make sure you dab your foundation and don't streak it" like if I were to ask that would be okay but I DIDNT ASK FOR YOUR INPUT. The last thing I need is you and your employees breathing down my neck the whole time I'm shopping and talking to me as if I was born yesterday. To top it all off, the guy that "color matched" me put foundation all over my face except around my eyes. Literally huge circles of skin without foundation around my eyes and the rest of my foundation was blotchy and disgusting. I hate this location so much. Terrible customer service and it never fails.
