DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i went there to redeem points for items on my birthday that was supposed to be a quick in and out, and it ended up being hours asking different staff members about how the system works and receiving a different answer every time. a woman with very short bleached blonde hair had directly gave me misinformation saying that the point system was available for full sized items, in which i had a feeling that that was too good to be true to the point where i vocalized that to her and she had continued to insist. when we get to the counter, the front staff had no idea how it worked as well and only adding more time and confusion to the entire process. after a literal three hours of attempting to figure this out due to the inconsistent answers, a manager had told me that all of the items i had collected were invalid for the points redeem. there was nothing offered to help fix this confusion nor to make up for the time that they had wasted for me on my 25th birthday while i was still in a rush to get ready for my celebration. the staff are incompetent in the area of being knowledgeable about their own marketing and will happily waste your time due to their own lack of training. read more

While I typically shop online for skincare products, Sephora is my absolute favorite place for make up, hair care, and other beauty needs. This location in particular has been for years has been my go to over the years. During my college days I shopped for all the sparkles and the amazing staff helped me obtain the perfect cat eye and apply false lashes. They even did a super spooky Halloween look once as a VIB gift. Wish I could find the picture to upload but literally was that long ago. These days my primary focus is finding effective skincare products and getting ready with as little effort as possible and they continue to have me covered! They offer plenty of samples and info about products if you aren't sure, and provide detailed printouts with products you have any questions about. Love how friendly and helpful their staff are and the VIB programs and rewards are such a fantastic benefit! read more

Popping in here to update this review. I had previously left a review here for the Sephora at Polaris but inside of JCPenney and didn't realize until a visit here last week, that they have two inside the Polaris mall. This one, is in fact a stand alone store, and is much bigger, has more staff, and room than the other one. I recently stopped by with my mom and sister and we were all on the hunt for particular items... Mainly skin care. One of the sales associates, Rachel, was amazing and helped all three of us find what we were looking for. If you've ever been to a Sephora, you know how much help you could end up needing... There's just so much! They still aren't offering samples or color swatches due to COVID but they have found ways to help despite those regulations. This shop gets a five star mainly because of Rachel and the other employees that really went above and beyond to assist me and the fam. read more

As someone who isn't a local and lives in a state with many very talented makeup artists, I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked a makeup service here. However, Cameronne was incredible and if I ever find myself in the area again, I'd happily book with her again. She listened to what I said I needed/wanted and asked really good questions. The outcome was beautifully applied makeup that lasted well in very humid weather and didn't oxidize or crease. She is a talented artist and is very personable. read more

I had a great morning here. I got a full face of makeup done by Veronronia and she was very knowledgeable. I made my appointment over the app on Friday, the makeover is free with a 50 dollar purchase. I loved the way Veronronia explained every step and she really listened to my concerns with my foundation. It was a few things I was missing out of my collection So I ended up spending about 300 bucks, but its mostly fenty and will last up to two years for you. read more

Stopped by the Polaris Sephora to get a new liquid foundation. I was approached at the very beginning by an associate and paired with a wonderful professional stylist, Maggie. She was able to help me color match and find me the right foundation for my skin type. She also helped me find a concealer that I can blend in for lighter areas of my face. I was very pleased with the customer service at Sephora Polaris. The associates were very knowledgeable of the products. I was looking for a foundation to fit my needs and the associate took time to ask me questions and nailed the perfect foundation for my skin color. I was tagging along with my friend who needed to return a lipstick. We came to this Sephora because we happened to be in the mall at Polaris. I don't buy makeup a lot but some of my friends have had negative experiences with the Sephora at Easton so I was feeling a little anxious. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately! An employee named Ty gave us some expertise about different foundations, lipsticks, and blushes we were interested in. In this age of COVID, Ty was extremely helpful in swatching some lipsticks and blushes on a tissue for us to see. He was very friendly and not intimidating or pushy at all. He let us know we could order products in store and get them shipped to our house for free. Overall it was a really pleasant experience. If I ever need makeup products, I'll be coming back to this Sephora! read more

Very disappointed in Sephora Polaris Parkway on this Black Friday. Went to the mall at 9:00am. Every single store in the mall was open except Sephora. All lit up, a worker stocking products. Big nasty sign on the door says "We are closed. Do not bother pulling on the door handles". Very rude and uninviting. Even if short staffed, put something pleasant up and at least say when you will be open. Sorry, but you know a full year in advance when Black Friday is. They clearly do not care about their customers at all. I will encourage everyone I know not to shop there! read more

I was displeased with the makeup I brought at Sephora. The girl who was "trying" to help me match makeup was certainly not experienced with working on darker skin. She was trying to tell me that a makeup I tried on matched my skin color when it really didn't. I saw the difference in color with my own eyes and the shade was so light that I almost looked like a ghost. I literally told the associate around 5 times that it wasn't my color but she was trying to rush to get me out of the way and hurry up to sell me something that didn't fit me. Also. She didn't know much about makeup and what types of foundations work well with different skin types. The more I became irritated with her trying to sell me this product, the more she became frustrated with trying to assist me. I ended up returning the makeup 2 days later. I will NOT be returning. You know that thing that makes you dizzy and weak in the knees?. . . Clouds your ability to think reasonably? . . . Makes the heart go pitter patter? Love?. . . Better. . . .Sephora. Oh Sephora, where do I start? My first experience was about 5 years ago for my wedding. Since I was getting married abroad (Key West is abroad, right?) I wanted to do my own makeup but needed to get some help and some new products. I went into sephora and had my makeup done, purchasing all the products and brushes they used. I learned techniques that I had never heard of or considered before. (Learning to apply dark eyeshadow with an eyeliner brush literally changed my life.) The cost was about $250 for everything but many of the products lasted quite a bit of time. In fact, several months ago my rust Stila eyeshadow finally ran out and I realized that the eyeshadow lasted longer than my 2 year marriage did. Speaks volumes about the quality of Stila products OR my inability to pick a life partner? You decide. The best part about Sephora is you can try EVERYTHING on at these little makeup stations. There is no excuse to leave with something you do not love. The sales people are always extremely helpful, although sometimes seem to push products that are outside of my budget. I don't care if that $84 lotion will make me feel *energized,* unless it also heats my house for 60 days, it's not going to happen sista. Although I cannot say enough good things about Sephora, I offer you this disclaimer: Because everything is so magical and expensive, your perception can become dangerously skewed. After spending 30 minutes looking at blushes that cost $30-$40, you can suddenly find one that costs $24 and you think you've hit the jackpot. No matter what, remember chapstick should not cost $13. Bobby pins should not cost $11. Do not let the spell of Sephora fool you into thinking you had stumbled upon the makeup equivalent of a sample sale. Always know what you want to spend before you enter the store and stick to your budget. I have walked out of Sephora, too many times, with an itty bitty eensy teensy tiny bag and an inability to pay my car payment. In love, and in sephora, be responsible. read more

I must admit that I'm a bit intimidated by the massive size and selection of Sephora's anchor stores at Polaris and Easton so when a friend told me that there was a smaller version of Sephora in the upstairs entrance to JC Penney I thought I would give it a go. I shocked (in a good way) to see literally a mini version of the mecca that is Sephora and was much less overwhelmed. I was greeted right away by a clerk who knew exactly what I was looking for (a hard-to -find perfume) and promptly showed it to me and offered to make me a sample. While they certainly don't have everything you would be accustomed to finding at the main Sephora store, this is perfect for a quick grab-and-go minus wading through all the people. in addition, the customer to clerk ratio is much better and you are more likely to walk out happy as apposed to flustered- with a bag full of things you didn't intend on buying. I really liked this location and now that I know it is there, will be much more likely to frequent this location first prior to going to the others. read more

Sephora is a necessary evil in my life, what with the skin temperament of a teenager and all. I use Bare Minerals make-up because yes it IS worth the $28 dollars for foundation that lasts three months, doesn't make my skin break out, and yes which now comes in matte. Okay and yes, if there are some lapses in my Marxist ideology, those come in the form of cosmetics consumption. In Chicago, I always shopped at Ulta, but I'm pretty sure there is no Ulta in Columbus. When I first moved here, I used to buy said make-up at the Bare Minerals store, but the sales people can be really unhelpful - not mean or anything, just not very on their game. I've always liked Sephora anyway because it has more of a variety of products and aside from makeup also sells perfumes and nail polishes (also, I love nail polish...). ANYWAY. I drove to Polaris today, something I put off as long as possible because malls skeeve me the hell out, because I needed perfume and foundation, and ended up having an interesting experience. Since it's summer, my foundation tone changed (cuz I spend time outside... something I'm surprised more of my friends don't actually do, BOO!) and so I asked one of the sales people for help. I picked said salesperson because she was young and tattooed and it's nice to have a fellow freak help ya at a very normative store, you know? As it turns out, she was just a normal salesgirl with tattoos - our conversation was minimally helpful and fairly vacuous. I ended up figuring my question out myself while she informed me that she was the rep for a different product line but tried to help me anyway. Sigh. When I went to pay for my products, I got That Salesgirl, you know the one - who tries to relate each of your product choices to her life so you can be BFF forever. This sort of strategy is tiring to me. Come on, it's Sunday afternoon, I'm hungover and only just had my coffee, and I really don't like being in malls. I'm wearing a metal band tshirt and jeans and no make-up. Just let me buy my stuff and leave instead of having to make half-hearted convo about how awesome gold nailpolish is (it is, but still.. vacuous discussion...). I realise this is their job, but this is also why I dislike stores in the mall so much. Whatever, Sephora is great, but the salespeople lack. I think that's the moral of the story. I never thought I'd review a store at the mall but here goes... I love this store. Seriously. The staff is always helpful (although, frequently very busy) and the quality of products on the shelves is overwhelmingly stellar. This past weekend, I went on a new foundation safari and got very lucky. I had been in a few weeks ago and was recommended a product, wore it home and decided it wasn't for me. So I was back to try again. And, I wish I knew the guy's name because he'd get a shout out here. He understood my garbled and confusing description of what I was looking for and pointed me towards the absolute right thing. And that's the beauty of this place. The staff knows the products they sell and they listen to you what you're looking for and find the products that will fit your needs. My only quibble is cramped the store is and just far a little extra space would go towards making it not feel so busy. read more

So, I typically dont go to makeup stores but after being pulled into here on a few occasions I now tend to stop in without a female companion. The staff is very friendly and they really go out of their way to help, especially if you're as out of place as I usually am in here. There is a whole wall of cologne for guys as well as a great supply of cleansers, lotions and other products for keeping oneself clean and smelling nice. I would say if you are interested in getting close to someone stopping in here is a great way to not only get that person close but keep them there. read more

I'm not much of a makeup person so I like coming here to get tips and be shown how to apply makeup. They have a great variety of products and even though they are stingy with it, they will send you home with product samples to try out. Sometimes I think a lot of people come in here just to try on makeup (which you can do). The staff is usually very helpful (some more than others) but when it gets crowded in there - it can be packed to the point of not wanting to wait in line that long. They do have a rewards program where you accumulate points and can redeem them for these little sample size products or save them up for bigger sample sizes. And they also send you a card around your birthday to get a free product. It's a good place. read more

All the ladies that work here are fabulous and will help you match a foundation to your skin tone, take their time with helping you find exactly what you need or want, and are more than willing to give you a sample of your fav product or perfume. I've never had a problem here and today I bought the cover fx lunar glitter drops and chocolate gold palette by too faced. Glittery heaven. Shopping at any Sephora can be pricey and overwhelming bc of the vast amount of products here, so my best advice is to know exactly what you're going to get before you go in. Otherwise, you're wandering around listlessly lamenting the fact that you don't have $5,000 to spend. There's so much amazing product here and always a better option than buying from Ulta or Mary Kay (sorry, MK people!). read more

I don't get up to Polaris that often, but when I do, if I can only go to one store, this would be it. I'm a makeup junkie and this provides me with my fix. I waited so long for there to be a location in Columbus, and in the meantime I would stock up on my visits to St Louis (usually in the $1,000 worth for my entire year). Now that there is one near me, I somehow don't seem to go as often and order online more now. This might be because I've discovered what I like so now I don't have to go to the store to sample the products but its still a fun trip. I took a friend here who wasn't that into makeup and now she's a convert. Thank God for Sephora! The staff here has always been friendly and they seem to always have the limited edition stuff in stock. read more

Is this what Heaven looks like? To us women, heck yes it is! Sephora has been hurting my wallet for the past few years. I do not need to walk the streets of NYC to have my wallet stolen by a snatcher, Sephora does that very well on it's own. I have been researching, blogging, and watching about the cosmetics industry for about 3 years now, and Sephora is my staple. You get makeup, skin care, hair care, nail care, and fragrances all in one place! Score! I can rave and rave about their collection of brands all review long, however... since this is a review on a specific location, I'd rather give my commentary on the staff. Many of those who work there are not very skilled at makeup. Heck, I know more about the products, brands, what works with what, skin tones, and skin types than these girls. However, there are gems inside who are actually veterans who take pride in researching and learning just as I do. Many of the crew members will be all up in your business from the moment you arrive in the store, and no where to be find when you have a question for them. 3 stars due to the customer service in the store. I frequent this location as a VIB member and I'm giving them 2 stars because I had a very difficult interaction with the cashier today. I was simply buying eyeliner and forgot my member card, but wanted to redeem my points and she refused to interact with me whatsoever and I had to ask like three times to redeem my rewards before she finally stuffed everything in the smallest bag they had. Let me start off by saying, I love sephora. I shop here frequently, and usually spend a lot of money here. When I first started shopping here the associates were friendly, and accommodating. As I became more familiar, I feel that they get put out by questions & giving me samples. I'm not a sample addict either, I usually just buy it. Two days before my wedding, my skin was a mess and I began freaking out about doing my own makeup as I had originally planned. My makeup knowledge was from teen magazines I read years ago and I have always been intimidated by the whole realm of cosmetics. So... I enlisted some friends for moral support for a trip to Sephora. I had the impression that their staff would be pushy and I would feel pressured into buying expensive products I did not want. This was absolutely not the case. Ally was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the store's products, cosmetic brands, and makeup application. My friends and I are vegans, so I was looking for cruelty-free products exclusively, and Ally knew with certainty which brands met those standards. My friends and I all left feeling like we had learned a lot. Additionally, Ally has a great sense of humor and made me feel comfortable with the daunting experience of having my makeup removed and reapplied in public at a time when my skin was a mess. With her help, I was able to improve my skin's condition in just two days and apply my wedding makeup myself with confidence. I'm just starting to get the pictures back from the big day and I am so impressed that I was able to look so good with my limited experience. Just stopped in today looking for a smaller size of my newly found favorite scent and guess what the lovely Sephora rep did for me? Gave me a sample! This perfume line typically doesn't offer samples...at all. I had stopped by three prior stores and looked online at multiple stores...no dice. I walked in to Sephora desperate for a sample to ensure that the scent will stick with me all day before dropping $100 on it and finally! I got my sample size. Sephora rocks! I have loved Sephora for years. I moved to the Columbus area and decided to give the Sephora at Polaris a try today. I walked in and there was an employee immediately to my right. All I wanted was a sample and told her specifically what I was looking for. She advised that I go to the back where they print the info for samples and she would have someone take care of me. After 25 minutes waiting with an anxious toddler I grabbed the product off the shelf. The women working the registered said that they could not help me and that they'd send someone back. Once again I wait for another 15 minutes, now with a screaming toddler. All while at least 4 employees walked past me averting their eyes. I left without the sample of the item I was looking at purchasing after seeing if it would work well or not. I will not be coming back. Seeing as I am a VIB Rouge this location just lost a decent amount of sales from just me. I am so disappointed that this is the review I am leaving. read more

I have never walked in here and left dissatisfied with the excellent service I always leave happy because these people know what they're doing! I have gone in with questions and questions and they answer them beautifully! I love that I know quite a few people there they remember my name and become familiar with me I've gone there for three years and I love working with three people specifically Maddie and Maggie were my first people and a girl named Jules but she left and now I really enjoy carolina these girls are wonderful!!! Seriously I always Wait for them I don't trust anyone else...sometimes when I have a mishap and I need to fix something if I'm in the area they'll fix up my eyebrow or eyelash cause I accidentally pulled part of it off haha and it's free of charge yay they're pretty friendly here and I wouldn't trade this location for any other Im sad because I'm moving and this place feels like my second home :( but I WILL be back when I'm in town!!
