Did a mobile pick up order for the spring sale. After placing order, it was ready within an hour! Not gonna lie, I've been placing orders all week & this was the quickest a Sephora has picked out my order, including non-sale regular days! Plus, as I expected, the area was extra crowded w/ the Boston Marathon being the next day but pick up was SUPER EASY, omg. As soon as I walked into the store, I was immediately greeted by a worker & she was able to grab my order in seconds!! This store also seems to be very well stocked compared to other Sephoras around (with the exception of Prudential). I very rarely go to this location because of how congested it usually is in the area & limited parking but I'll likely be grabbing more things from here again soon! read more

What a lousy checkout experience. They have four registers, but nobody was at them. I realized I had to see someone at the front of the store, but the first lady I asked "couldn't" ring me up. I got in the line I realized was forming, and then that same lady started ringing people up. I waited a long time and was pretty much ignored. The woman who was ringing up my purchase did talk to the dog behind me though. There was a line of about 10 people behind me by the time I left. I must apologize for having bothered people by wanting to buy anything! Next time I will bother the store at Prudential Center, which is larger, has better selection, and good service. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this Sephora location today. One of the staff members was extremely rude and dismissive during checkout. When I pointed out that her attitude felt disrespectful, she responded with "that's just how it is," which I found unprofessional and inappropriate. She also blamed me for entering my phone number incorrectly in a rather accusatory tone, instead of trying to help resolve the issue. What made this worse was that when I brought this to the manager, no effort was made to address the situation or offer any resolution. I usually expect a much higher level of customer service from Sephora, so this experience was very disappointing and left me feeling disrespected. I hope the store takes this feedback seriously and improves staff training and customer interaction. read more

Perhaps it is because this Sephora is located near a tourist area but I've never seen a Sephora so clean and well stocked. I also wanted to mention that walking into a store like Sephora can be overwhelming especially for a middle aged occasional fugo such as myself who is only minimally familiar with the brands they carry. Each employee that I encountered was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to show me where everything was located. Sephora HQ should be paying the staff at this store location double because they are exceptional when it comes to customer service and inclusion. read more

On the scale of Boston Sephora busy-ness, this one ranks below Newbury St but above Fenway. Because there are so many people around, the store associates kind of just let you do your thing. Some of the aisles felt cramped with so many people around, but I had a great experience making a return of a product that broke me out. When you go into Sephora you obviously know you're going to find what you are looking for but I am usually expecting the grand customer service that they give you at other locations... Maybe this location is just in a very busy area and everyone was assisting other customers because I was looking for a product and couldn't find it for a while, I kind of had to interrupt some employees who were helping others and casually chatting to be pointed in the right direction. I will say that once someone noticed that I was a bit lost then I was helped, and we found exactly what I was looking for, she was actually very sweet too and tried different blush shades on me. Her honestly on colors was greatly appreciated because I didn't feel like she was just trying to sell me a product. The location is spacious... But being in such a busy area it was overloaded with people. Not a terrible experience, just bring your patience cap! read more

As other have probably noted, this is a smaller scale Sephora, it's actually on the former site of the green house, and it's weird sort of like someone dropped a beauty bunker down from the sky. I'm used to the much large Sephora in Prudential and the only other one I've been to was in NYC with a live DJ, so yes this is way smaller. Staff smiled at me but did not offer to help me, perhaps because I had a face mask on, I figured smaller space and congestion and mix of people in the market -- that it was better to wear one. Because of it's smaller size, it's not going to have every product line or range. Of course the two/2 I was looking for it did not have: Smashbox or Clinique. Smashbox I know is not as trendy as before but they had Benefit and they had the regular/namesake Estee Lauder line which I thought was more old school, than Clinique but again only so much shelf space, so making mental note. Guess if they carry what you wear/need it could be convenient. And I did not purchase anything so cannot comment further. read more

After going to plenty of Sephora stores around the Boston area, including the one on Newbury St. and the one in Braintree's South Shore Plaza, I can honestly say this Sephora was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. Firstly, I had a makeup appt. (focus feature for 30 mins). I arrived early, and waited for a makeup artist. The manager was very aware as we made contact that I was early and waiting for someone. Time passed by, 11 minutes and still no one to assist me. Once I got someone to assist me named, Julianna, She was very very very rude. Ruined my morning. her first question was, what kind of look would you like, I said natural, and she insisted to say, I need to have a picture, " you cant just come here without a picture, and ask for a natural look." So I googled a random picture of a woman with "natural makeup." Then she went on to say every time I do my makeup I should have a picture, but I am sorry, I have done my makeup over 50x by professionals and I have never been treated like that. Professionals know what they are doing and if they need a pic they ask in a professional manner not in a very rude way. Then she had an attitude the entire time, after doing my eye makeup for 12 minutes she said she was done with a bad attitude straight face (looked like she wanted to punch me), and that's what I booked, she didn't assist me with anything else, and was being a total B*t.... So i said can someone cover this pimple with a concealer for me please and she was like no, I cannot, and she called a random employee to come do it. So another employee came to assist me she was nice, and I was explaining my experience to her. It seems like she was used to people complaining about the female manager and Juliana, I went to check out and asked for the manager, and an employee told to specifically contact John, because he runs the show there on the weekdays and will take me more serious than the female manager that was working today. I will NEVER walk into this Sephora again. First off , it's not right to pay for 30 min service and only get 15 out of it. It's not right to be seen late when on time, especially with an attitude. I am completely disgusted! From my experience with the other Sephora's everyone was very pleasant at the Sephora in Back Bay and South Shore plaza and did a great job in helping me. Also, I feel like I was being followed while waiting for my makeup, why, I dont know maybe because the way I was looked , I feel bad for the nice employees who work there that have to deal with the lady manager and employees like Julianna. I purchased one of the Sephora perfume samples online. Before venturing to this Sephora I visited others in the city. The Newbury store did not carry fragrances. The Prudential one did not have this one in stock. Third times the charm, right? Unfortunately, the Faneuil Hall store did not have the Victor&Rolf Flower bomb rollerballs and you can only redeem this coupon voucher in-store. My luck changed when Vanessa, a sales representative found a manager/co-worker and I was allowed to pick another rollerball. Thank you for saving me from a trip to a fourth store! They have a great selection of all sorts of cosmetics for face, lip, eyes, etc. They also have a huge variety of perfumes/colognes and skincare products. i came in there right after work, on their website is written that they working until 8 pm, i showed up in there at 7:57 and the guy through the window showed me manually (by doing a cutting jesture around his neck) that they are closed, I needed this perfume that I ordered to pick up at the store for the same evening. The girls next to him tried to ask him to open the door, because technically they should be still open, but he put on his aggressive stare at me and this was it. This is one of my favorite stores to go to at Faneuil Hall. I'm always just like a kid in a candy store at any Sephora. This location is definitely smaller than others but it's good for me in a way because the less I see the less I want. The store has a lot of the brands that I buy though and the ladies working the sales floor are super helpful and answer all of my questions. I wasn't crazy about the person at the cash register but the person who I dealt with on the sales floor was great. I ended up with some of the eyeshadow from Sephora's own private brand and some skin care items from Fresh. They have a great loyalty club where you can get points for what you buy and earn free items. I will definitely keep coming here. read more

She snagged some MUFE HD Foundation ($43) and a 1 oz Smashbox Primer Spray ($16 for glorified water.). She loved every second. And I loved watching her love it. This location is terrible I felt very uncomfortable being followed around like a thief or that I had intentions to steal something. So I recently just started getting into makeup specifically the Haus Labs products and had already bought foundation online that didn't quite match my skin tone. I go there after work and walk in with my work bag and immediately at being followed by Sephora associates and watched like a hawk. Mind you as I said I just started getting into makeup after developing a passion for it so it was already hard enough for me to walk through the door. I go over to the Haus labs section and an associate immediately asks in a very condescending rude way can I help you ? I said yes and explained my situation about me just getting into makeup and trying to match the Haus labs foundation I had already bought through Sephora online to my correct skin tone. As soon as I pulled up my product in which I stated to her multiple times I already purchased her entire demeanor changed and she suddenly became kinda dismissive rubbing all these shades on me. We find one I like and she says oh no you can't exchange that without receipt(which I have on my Sephora account) or the original box you could ask up front and just walks away. I was left feeling embarrassed and very low . I start to walk around the store a bit more and more associates would not stop crowding around the general areas I was looking in and not one person after that lady asked if I needed some assistance. I left feeling very discouraged and profiled as a thief. I will never ever ever step in another Sephora again. read more

I am normally a big fan of Sephora, so for the overall brand, I'd give 4 stars. However, this location is really sub-optimal because of the small, restricted space. I came here on opening day and it was a complete cluster! While all the staff were super nice and friendly and helpful, it was an ORDEAL just dealing with the crowds and trying to get through to the products I wanted to look at and/ or purchase. Even after coming back here after opening day, I find the store is still too cramped and small. If you desperately need something, this store will do, but if you're looking for more of a relaxed browsing experience, I'd go to the Sephora location in the Pru instead. read more

We were early to an event so we stopped in. I got a mini makeover. I asked the woman who did it if I could have her try a brow product on me. She said yes. Later, I had another technician try the brow product because she wasn't around. When the new technician was trying the product on, a woman who appeared to be the manager approached me. In a rude, loud, and condescending voice, she told me I couldn't have two mini makeovers (which I didn't have). She told me next time I will pay. This was the worst experience i've ever had at a sephora. I was looking for a specific highlighter and a worker came to where i was, coincidentally, the drawer on the bottom was open. So i asked her if they had the highlighter very politely, and she accused me of opening the drawer. Her exact words were, "Why, you didn't find the highlighter when you opened the drawer?". I was in shock by how rude she was and how quickly she assumed that i opened the drawer. When i said that i did not open the drawer she assured me that she would check in the back for it and she would be right back. i waited there for 20 minutes until i realized she never came back and was working the register. Not only did that incident happen, i waited there for another 20 mins hoping someone would help me and no one was available. Also all the workers kept staring me down as if i was going to steal something and i felt very uncomfortable. They did not even greet me when i walked in. This Sephora recently opened and it is in the heart of Boston in the tourist trap district. Ok, so my friend and I might have been a tad tipsy shopping but sometimes tipsy shopping is the best! We came in on a great night, there was an event going on. There was a DJ, free mocktails and food. It was probably the best time I have ever had at a Sephora. The staff was super friendly and pointed out to us where certain products were located. The beauty of Sephora (no pun intended) besides being a high end beauty store is you can sample most of the products before you decide to buy. I like to be super careful with sampling for hygiene issues. I usually stick to sampling their amazing hair products. This is a good size store and easy to get to from Downtown or the water front. Close to Hay Market and Government Center T stops. Make sure you sign up for their rewards card club you get free samples and a gift on your birthday! read more

If I could give this a lower star review I would. Put it this way, just go to the back bay one if you are local. These girls have ZERO customer service skills. Second time in a month I have been to this location and had my temper tested by employees who are just rude for the sake of being rude. When someone drops something in YOUR crowded store don't tell them to be more careful as if it was the intention was to drop something. Do t touch someone's face without asking them first makeup wise, say hello when they say hi and not act like customers are the bane of your damn existence. Sephora should start paying their employees more because you get what you pay for. A bunch of unhappy ladies who make you feel like crap for just being there even when you drop 100+ every time you are there. This store is right near my work, and I love to go when I'm having a rough day and browse. I went in today totally defeated, after dealing with some rough stuff over the last month. I had a lovely conversation with Allison, and also the woman behind the check out counter (who wasn't wearing a name tag! I'm sorry! She had beautiful skin and braids). They both went above and beyond in their customer service, and gave me a zillion samples without me even asking. I really appreciated it, and left feeling a little lighter. Just got back from the newest Sephora in Boston. Aside from the usual opening day annoyances (pretty much the large chaotic mess of people), this location seems to carry most high end brands you would see at any other Sephora chain. I noticed they carried more brands than the Fenway location, but not as many as the Prudential Center location. The layout and location of the store in Faneuil Hall is a little awkward; it is a standalone shop and not part of the market buildings. Because of location, this Sephora will do well. If you're looking for a much quieter shopping experience (they aren't as big but most likely you'll find what you are looking for), go to the one in Fenway. read more
