I love Sephora, but this location is pretty average. It's on the small side. Customer service is okay here but it's generally quite busy. We finally have a Sephora in Vancouver, BC so Sephora is no longer on my "must-stop" lists when I come to Seattle. There's still the issue of Canada not getting the US exclusives/new products as quickly. Thankfully this location came to the rescue this weekend after my huge disappointment that the matte Bare Minerals is still not on the Canadian market after checking out our new one here. Always PACKED inside; sooooo many people! They certainly have the staff to handle it though; sometimes overstaffed it feels like.... but always helpful and available - every interaction I've had with them has been good. Big store, lots of product. The line here always gets crazy long.... Don't really have much to say about this location; usually I frequent the Westfield/South Center store, but I work near this mall so it is convenient if I forget something. I walked in planning to get my rosebud lip salve, walked out with a $40 tinted moisturizer...and the lip salve. The sales associates are very helpful, and Josh stepped up to help me find a tinted moisturizer for the summer. I didn't realize at the time how expensive it would be, but it matched my skin perfectly and I'm sure I'll love it. I love wasting my money on beauty products. 'Cause some part of me honestly believes that it will make me look and feel better. This store is basically just the first floor of any department store, the beauty floor. It has a bunch of different companies and their products, some can be found elsewhere, others are Sephora exclusives. I personally like this store because I can try things that I can't find anywhere else in the Northwest. Plus I can always coax the staff to give me a sample (though, other than that, the staff generally know nothing about any of their products so don't bother asking. And whatever they tell you is usually BS) The cosmetic lines such as perfume/face care/make up is priced the normal amount (which means its not cheap) and the 'sephora line' of stuff, is usually cheaper but definitely cheaper quality (stuff breaks). The one thing they have going for them is their point card system 1=1pt every 100points you get a 'nice' sample 'of choice' which is sometimes more than I get at the make up counters at Nordstrom. read more

Bellevue Sephora - Service is a Mixed Bag I love the idea of the Sephora store - lots of product, lots of ideas, and lots of things to try. At least that is what I heard it was supposed to be. And for the most part when it comes to their **SKIN CARE LINES** the service is GREAT! I have stopped buying anything other than skin care after my first few trips to the store. I felt like I was bothering the sales associates. Some days it was crowded and I waited my turn, some days it was not crowded, but anything - make up, lip gloss or fragrance - I was in the way! So no more. Sephora to me = skin care only. I am happy to spend time there with the associates who are willing to show me what's new or what's old and helpful in skin care. I love trying new things. I will not be in the way to get a new mascara or liner life is too short for that. So a mixed bag it is. 3 stars, if the two worlds worked together, Sephora could really be a top-notch environment. I have never had a bad experience looking at skin care products...maybe the profits are higher? I hate to be that cynical - but maybe?? But if they were able to get ALL my 'beauty' money, it would be more profitable for them and quicker/faster/simpler for me. read more

Went in yesterday since I needed a new foundation and have been looking around for Marc Jacobs re(marc)able .Usually go to the Southcenter Sephora in Tukwila since it is closer to me but they did not have the color I needed in stock. Anyways came in here was greeted right away since they did have employees by the door ready to greet. Went right to the Marc Jacobs section and found what I was looking for. Did want to be matched as well just to make sure. There was an employee right next to me and was having a conversation with someone else waited till she was done and asked if she could help color match.She did apologize for the wait told her it was fine since she was busy. Went and found another employee to help right away. Was matched with the color I needed. It was the only one left! Will definitely be back here. I had quite possibly the most uncomfortable and awkward shopping experience of my life here yesterday, so much so that I am now writing my first Yelp review about it. At first I thought the ladies working there were being really nice and super helpful because they kept coming up to me asking if I needed anything. But then I started to feel like I was being watched or chaperoned because I couldn't so much as swatch something without one of them being directly next to me. When I had gotten in line to pay I was looking around my basket making sure I really wanted all things I was about to buy when one of them pulled me aside to check me out somewhere else... I thought she was going to tell the others in the line that there was another register open as well but it was just me.... I started to catch on to what they were hinting at. I did not and would not steal anything so I was pretty offended that she was treating me like I did. As soon as I realized what was happening I was so upset I told her I actually didn't want any of it and walked out the store. The whole thing was so uncomfortable and embarrassing it truly makes me never want to step foot in another Sephora. TL;DR: Don't come here if you're brown or dressed down in any sort of way because they will assume you can't pay for anything. read more

The guest service was terrible during my last few visits in this particular location. The store associates were chatting with each other no matter there're crowded in the store or in a slow time. No greeting, no eye contact, when I politely asked a staff if they had a product displaying on shell, he never even looked at my face and said, "NO" then just walked away to chat with his coworker. Since their products are not really competitive with other stores either in price or in variety, and the service is much worse, I rarely walk in here anymore. read more

I get it that they have a sales quota to meet but when I walked in I got hounded. Instead of some friendly upselling, they straight up PRESSURE you buy something else which would be fine if they were friendly about it. The vibe in this store was very chilly and icy and the staff wasn't very friendly. The customer service sucks and is worse every time I visit... I don't look like your typical Bellevue Sephora make up junkie (but I am), so no one ever says hi to me, offers to help, ask any kind of questions... ever! Today I was looking for a gift, some kind of pallette or set for a friend and I spent 20/30 minutes wondering around not sure what I was looking for hoping someone would magically hand me the perfect gift. Most of the samples had colors missing or were just not there or in the wrong place (the store was a mess, which is actually not usual for this store). Anyways I just left, went to Lush and Macys got great customer service, found what I hope is the perfect gift and picked up a few things for myself. This is probably my first time here actually exploring the goods. They carry so many brands of make up and skin care products that it gets quite overwhelming. However the pain was taken away with the folks who offered assistance and also showed me that I can try the different eye liners and lipsticks. I also had the opportunity to try the mini makeover and that was really nice to have her show me how to put on a particular make up. Sorry I didn't get her name but she was very detailed in what she was using and how to apply the make up. The store was clean and aisles were wide enough to allow all the other customers to browse and try things. My only issue is the limited stock of items. It seems that every brand was missing products or the samples were missing or dried out. read more

This is my favorite Sephora location. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. With that being said, I spend quite a bit of money on make up and skin care. Since I am in my early thirties, prevention and maintenance is important to me. It's expensive here because you're getting quality products from brands you've heard of. I make my huge beauty purchases during the two times a year they offer the beauty insider coupon for 20% off. This location carries products the other ones don't like the Replica line of fragrances and the Bite lip line. They give samples and beauty consultations and make overs. We all know that Sephora is the go to for any girl in need of some glam and face sparkles. I've got my same 'ol stand by's in my make up bag. So when I'm out or nearing out of something, I'm usually in Sephora with a mission and out in no time. Kind of like Costco, you've got to have your list of needs and stick to it or you end up with a bag of crap you really didn't need. So tonight I go in to pick up one specific item. Of course it was 7pm on a Friday and there were people crawling everywhere. I spot it, grab it, and then notice something similar in the same line, in a slightly different shade. So I pick up both samples to compare the two. Maybe one was better than my same 'ol stand by? You don't know until you try it. And where's a better place to do that? Why Sephora of course! The make up testing mecca of the world! I proceed to seek an "associate" to assist with a clean brush and application for testing. I'm standing there staring at two "associates" who are venting/gossiping (aka not working). And then what seems to be a Manager notices me standing there. He walks up with his inventory clipboard, over sized walkie talkie headset, and over curled clumpy mascara eyelashes and asks what I need help with. I simply ask to sample the two colors because I wanted to compare the two. He immediately informs me that they are two completely different types of products, and he would never use one without the other, and questions "what's to compare? They are two totally different things." Whoa there, Snarky McSnarkyton. He then gives me the "you're an idiot" look and pawns me off to the associate who never intended to help me in the first place. He assures me that the person attempting to help with the testing is a color and make up expert. I almost had the balls to ask for the Manager, but then I thought, "oh my, maybe that WAS the Manager." First of all, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, there are no wrong and right ways to use make up. Keiko Lynn uses eyeshadow for her brows, and I use blush for my lips so eff off. I will use a product however I damn well please, and I will sample that product however I damn well please as well. And you will give me that brush that's in your holster. Just because you've been to beauty school, Miss Thang, that doesn't make you Ru Paul. Buying make up is already a daunting task. People are trying to look good!.. and sometimes at whatever cost. In general, I'm a confident person. I will go out with no make up on and have the same level of self esteem as if I had a full face of make up on. I know that make up doesn't make me pretty, but just enhances the features that are existing. Maybe had I been a younger girl buying make up for the first time, or someone with insecurities about my appearance and looks, I probably would have gone home crying had someone spoke to me and treated me like that. Customers are usually looking for genuine help and assistants, not snarky attitude or one liners to make them feel stupid. I actually had a few other things that I remembered I needed to grab but decided not to. I just wanted to get out of there, I couldn't get to the check out quick enough. So instead of spending an extra $100 in product, I left. I would rather buy online and spend extra for shipping than endure that again. read more

Just had a ridiculous experience with a cashier girl trying to "explain" me how I should spend my almost 500 points. Instead of selling the product, she was inconsistent in her answers and rude. I love most of Sephora stores, except for this one. I had a $10 gift card that I wanted to spent on my new eyeliner. When I showed them the giftcard on my iphone (Wrapp app), SA pretended to think for a while, and even call somebody over to ask for her opinion. The next lady was NOT helpful at all, she didn't even read the gift card rule, and she must have thought that I made that up to get discount. Then, they told me that that gift card couldn't be redeemed there, but just the Sephora inside JCpenny. I believed them, so I stood out of the line because they had a very loooong line waiting. After that, I reread the rule, and to my surprise, it CAN be redeemed in ANY Sephora store or online. This is not the first time I went there and be disappointed by this store customer services. I may look much younger than my age, but this is NOT how you treat your customers. I will never come back. read more

My makeup appointment is really disappointed and sad. I usually don't wear makeup and don't know how to do it by myself. And I have to go to a friend wedding as one of her bridesmaids. So I decided to make a makeup appointment .I was there 15 mins before appointment and checked in. And the artist shows up 7-8 mins late and took her 2-3 mins to clean the makeup mirror and table. After she done everything, she greets me which was 10 mins late. Okay, then we start, she passed me her working phone and let me sign in and create my profile account. Then she ran off to grab product. I didn't time exactly how long she has gone. I just feel that after I filling in all info to create a profile account, I was sitting there for a quite while and wait for her come back. There is a flash thought through my mind that can we finish this makeup in 45 mins to 1 hr? It's pretty late and we didn't start anything yet. In the end, I bellevue she got everything she needs and came back. she asked me what kind of makeup I want. I said that I like more natural looking. And I would go to a friend's wedding and I am her bridesmaid. In short, we start it. That's good. When she helps me draw eye browse, she didn't asked what kind of shape I like, just do it. It turns out not good and she said that she will fix it. Still doesn't look good. Then I start to tell her what shape I like. And she re-did it again. This time looks much better. I encourage her by saying this time looks great! Then she start to do eye shallow. I asked can she help me try pink and purple two different color. And she said we were running out of time and she can ONLY help me try one color..... anyway, after she helps me put on foundation, I realized that the color was not quite right. And when I asked her if we can remove it, she refused and brought up her manager as we were running out of time. I talked to her manager about I would go to a wedding soon and I cannot just leave the store like this because I don't have a backup plan. And check if is there any other artist available at this moment? After all no, no answers , I ended up wearing this wrong color foundation and a super quick finishing makeup. However, I still decided to purchase $50 product even for this unpleasant service. So I came a conclusion. For customer, if you are like me need to attend an important event and don't have much experience in makeup. Just to hire a "REAL makeup artist". Because I don't feel the store artist is accountable or patient enough. read more

Bellevue Sephora is one of the better Sephora stores in the area. The store is fully stocked and has a ton of sales help on hand.

Wow! This Sephora is really big! My first time here! I was in Macy's but they stopped carrying my product. Gina, the gal from Benefit, offered to walk me to Sephora so I can get my eye primer, it's the only one that keeps my makeup on. I ended up buying an eyeliner too and Gina showed me how to use it. I'm not very good at makeup but she made it seem so easy. I will be coming to Sephora to get my makeup from now on. seems like your store carries more brands. read more

I always enjoy coming to Sephora, but at this particular I did not have an excellent experience. I came into the store and had to track down an employee, and I realize the store was crowded (so I understand), but after 10 minutes I finally found someone who could help me. The employee was nice, but very short with me, and clearly did not want to be helping me. I then encountered a woman at the register & I was attempting to engage in a friendly conversation with her, but she was not having any of it. She was extremely negative, rude, and looked like she could give two s**** about her job. This Sephora was okay. There wasn't really a line going in which was nice. There was the three of us and one one of my friends needed something in the store so we followed her in. We immediately got greeted asking if we needed help my one friend told the employee what she was looking for and helped her. But my other friend and I where just browsing around while waiting for our friend and every two minutes a employee asked us if we needed help and to ask for them if we needed help which was nice but was happening too many times we felt so overwhelmed and wasn't so fun to shop. Yet I know it's required but it was happening every two minutes and like 6 different employees asking us the same question. Yet my other friend getting her products she felt like the first employee didn't know what she was doing or what the product was because she was reading the description on the product and was unsure and showing her a way over price product on what she asked for but my friend asked for a new employee and knew what they where doing. I experienced the rudest salesperson in the Bellevue Square location today. I was looking inside a box of sample lipsticks when an associate approached me and rudely informed me to not open the boxes. I apologized as I didn't know and there were no signs stating that. I said I was just trying to see what was in there. She walks away not five feet from me and loudly complains to a coworker about me, well within earshot. Her coworker bumps her as if to tell her to stop talking. I was shocked at her rudeness towards me. I said are you seriously talking about me right now? The woman would not respond to me or make eye contact. It was not like I was even trying the product. I was holding a few items to buy and probably would have bought what I was looking at. They lost the sale and I won't be returning. There is no excuse for rude behavior like that when there are so many other places I could take my business. read more

This store always seems to have customer service that is way above and beyond that of other stores in the western part of the state. The employees are always available and happy to help, but they don't hover. They actually offer you samples of products to take home. They also take their time to get you a good foundation match- I can't say the same for the stores in Seattle, Tukwila, or Tacoma. I live in Federal Way, but it's worth making the trip up to this store when I need help with products! read more
