Snobby! I'm so sick of these snobby sales people. Okay so every time and I mean every time I go to a Sephora, I am ignored. I see several people helping other customers and even more reps just standing around. I usually don't go there just to browse. I am looking for something specific. However, since I usually don't get helped, I end up ordering it from their website or even more often, purchasing it from Nordstrom. I sure hope they don't work on commission. read more

I came here looking for eyeshadow without ever really having bought eyeshadow before, and asked a salesguy what colors would look good on me. He was like, "All of them!" Not helpful. He told me to book a beauty consultation. Not helpful. Told me that the beauty consultation would include 30 minutes of skin care instructions and 30 minutes of makeup application. Was he telling me that I was pimply or oily? I am both of those things -- to a degree -- but I thought I wasn't too bad-looking... Even more annoying was that he had a huge pimple on his lip (or maybe it was a cold sore?) and was greasy-looking, himself. I usually dislike going into stores like Sephora because I get really self-conscious about how little makeup I wear, how I'm not 100% put together like the staff and most of the clientele there, and so... this guy, on top of being unhelpful, was also just a little bit TOO blunt about my not-perfect skin. But then again, I was there with a friend who was trying to describe a mascara without knowing the brand or anything -- she just said, "it's this stuff that comes off in LITTLE TUBES," and he led us straight to the Blinc mascara, which is exactly what she was talking about, so I guess he knew his stuff. On a different day I went to the MAC counter in the Dillard's at this same mall for help with eyeshadows and the salesgirl was much more helpful and tactful about acne, which I appreciated. There's a way to go about this, guys. read more

I really wish I would have got the name of the girl that helped me. She was pretty helpful and I explained what I needed and she new right away what I wanted. The only thing I dislike about Sephora is how gross the testing process seems. Clean it all you want, someone still used that powder brush... No Thank you read more

This store has a great selection of men's fragrances, as well as other stuff. Too bad the store is in the middle of a shopping mall. I find the staff to be helpful, but nothing like the Sephora in San Francisco, where the service is unmatched. They were sold out of the travel diffusers I needed to pick up. I will probably have to wait until I get back to SF to get it. Oh well. read more

I love Sephora. I was always advised against it by an acquaintance who works at MAC. I'll admit, when it comes to comparing atmospheres, MAC is a little more intimidating compared to Sephora. It just seems so...whatever a nicer word is for 'elitist'. Maybe it just has too much of boutique feel to it. I don't get that vibe from Sephora. I like that the people come up to me and ask if I need help. I was there recently looking for a tinted moisturizer. I tend to go online, look for what I want and then ask about it in the store. I'm generally not big on make up, so browsing a make-up store isn't really my cuppa tea. When asked, the sales assistant gave me some recommendations and tried two really nice moisturizers on each half of my face. She was really helpful and to the point. I really appreciate that. They were able to answer all my questions there too so, I feel they know their stuff. read more

I love Sephora. They have almost everything! The staff is great and helpful and the best part? Free samples!! Easy returns. I could live in Sephora if it weren't for the perfume section. There is one up North too by the Arboretum. read more

I went in to get some shampoo and had some questions. The representative I chatted with was not working the haircare section so she steered me directly towards the haircare rep. She was helping someone, so she said she would help me after she was done with that customer. Well, thirty minutes later and 6 customers later, she still had not gotten to me. She had started helping people that arrived to the store much later than I did and kept ignoring me. So I finally left. I've received much better service at other locations and now prefer to purchase online. read more

I have always loved Sephora, they have everything I need and the customer service has always been 5 stars to me. As soon as I walked in, no one greeted me or asked me if I needed help. Finally after some time someone came and asked if i needed help. The cashier was ok, she wasn't mean but didn't have that friendly vibe either. The store however was cleaned up when I was there. read more

Such a sweet team. They opened their doors a few minutes early for me when I desperately needed eyeliner. It meant so much for me and I'm grateful. You are in good hands when you're at this Sephora. read more

One of my biggest first world problems is the dilemma I have of loving clothes and LOATHING shopping. I can think of a million things I'd rather do than go to a mall. So, when I do have to go, I make a point to always stop by Sephora because it's my own little version of heaven. The staff is really friendly. I don't understand the reviews claiming that they couldn't find associates - Benefit cosmetics ALWAYS has a representative available, and I feel like anytime I switch sections (from hair to perfume, for example), there is someone there asking if I need help. If they're out of a product, they check with the other Austin locations, or offer to special order it for me. I've had my makeup done here twice before parties, and the skin prep girls and the makeup artists are so incredibly friendly and so fun to be around. The cashiers are sometimes a little frazzled, but it really doesn't detract from the experience. The fragrance section has to be my favorite part of Sephora. I have an obsession with perfume, and am always trying to find new scents for different occasions. I love the fragrance finder, the abundance of paper strips to test them on, and the coffee beans available to refresh your olfactory senses. I love it. I'm a sucker for cute packaging, so the line to the register always gets me, because they have all their best selling products in mini and sample sizes. It was great during the holidays, because they were the best stocking stuffers (okay, soooo... it was my own stocking, but who cares!). Join the Beauty Insider program. Every dollar is a point, and you can choose to redeem your points either at 100 points or 500 points. I've found some great new moisturizers with those samples. Also, you get a gift during your birthday month! How nice, right? read more

I went in to pick up some mascara and sample out a few foundations. Emily found me the most beautiful foundation and perfect shade as well as shared her product secrets for her beautiful lashes, which I thought must have been fake given their length (she uses Grande Lash Enhancing Serum + Benefit BadGal Volumizing mascara). I shared with her that I had a fancy party the following night and if it was possible to pay for a makeover? She shared that as long as you purchase over $50 of product, you qualify for a free makeover. Hooray! She scheduled me for an hour appointment for the next day. Yazmeen gave me the most beautiful makeover. People at the party kept complimenting my skin and how pretty I looked. Yazmeen was a total pro during my makeover. She considered products that would photograph well since we were taking professional pictures at the formal. She chose rose gold glitter eyeshadow to match my dress and we added false eyelashes. My eyes looked stunning! I had so much fun during my makeover. It is so easy to spend $50 at Sephora - I will be using this makeover service very frequently. Thank you Yazmeen. read more

Every guy should come here to find their new scent! Erik was very helpful and spot on with his scent suggestions! I tried out about 10 scents on my own and two of the scents he suggested ended up being perfect for me. They even give small samples so you can try your favorite colognes out to see how the scents three tiers (Top, Middle, and Base) work with your skin in day to day life. Oh, and no I'm not telling which scent I picked. I don't want everyone smelling this good ;) So, if you are tired of the cologne you've been wearing for years then you should really come to Sephora to find your new scent. read more

Love, love, love this SEPHORA! I always get great service and love the energy of the staff! I highly recommend!

Horrible customer service,we were there last night and never got acknowledged and most of the workers (makeup artist) were in a bad mood. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this location. The experience wasn't worth the money spent there. read more

I had almost given up on customer service. However, through the darkness came Devin. Her appearance was crisp. She asked detailed but not prying questions and actually listened to what I said. Devin's product knowledge and listening ear were a breath of fresh air to me. Having the product doesn't lock in customers today. Consumers can easily find specific and "like" products anywhere. I will return to Sephoria because of the awesomeness of Devin and the service she provided. read more

I'm a huge fan of Sephora, and I spend a couple thousand a year buying my beauty products online from them. I'd rate Sephora as a company five stars, however this review is for their retail location that I just visited. I visited the mall this evening with only one purpose: to go pick up some products at Sephora versus buying them online and waiting a few days to receive them. As soon as my husband and i walked through the door, we were greeted by an employee. Said "hello" back, then we headed towards the brand that I was looking for. This is when my experience turned negative. An older male asked if I needed help with anything, to which I replied "no thank you". The employee stayed on the other side of the display and literally twenty seconds later asked "you still doing okay?" Again I didn't take him up on it, just thought that they were really focusing on customer service or something. I walked to another display while my hubby browsed through some colognes, and the same employee moved directly next to me, pretending to straighten up some product and again asked me if I needed help. For the third time in under maybe two minutes I turned his help down. I moved to another display and he literally followed me again and pretended he was facing product. He waited thirty seconds, and then asked for the 4th time if I needed help. At this point it pretty much confirmed it-this dude is being really "helpful" because he thinks I'm here to steal something. Speaking as someone who has worked 11 years in retail, most jobs tell you to provide "extra" attention to those who might be stealing. Pretty much to try to make them uncomfortable and leave. Usually you size the person up based on their behavior/appearance. Since I was literally in and out of this store in under five minutes total.. that leaves my appearance, which isn't anything that would look suspicious. I'm wearing Ugg boots, a fitted hoodie, and am carrying a $600 purse for God's sake. Maybe it's because I'm younger than him? Between him and the cashier's RBF I just decided to not buy anything else there, and to just never come back. I've literally never been treated like that, especially when it's a place that I'm visiting with the intention of spending a ton of cash at that day. Smh. read more

This place has TERRIBLE customer service. I've actually been to this location a few times, each time hoping that it would be a better experience than the time before. Each time was met with the same mess of cringe-worthy customer service. The employees ignore you and basically just stand in a circle talking. They don't greet you when you walk in, either. Big retail no no. The girls are straight up snobs. This Sephora is a no-go for me now, I just stick to ULTA these days. 1000x better. Side note: There was ONE time when I wasn't ignored by an employee at this location. Her name was Corinne. She was cool and offered skincare samples to me, and educated me on different brands. Thanks girl. read more

I'm a VIB Rouge & I do most of my shopping online. I went to the store just to see what caught my eye. Two cast members were standing directly in front of the Becca cosmetics (where I wanted to look for Champagne Pop,) chatting about the night before, they did not budge even after I politely said, "excuse me." I repeated myself & finally one turned & asked, "yeah, what's up?" It was said it such a tone that I felt as if I was disturbing them when they weren't even doing their job. I immediately left & will resume doing my purchasing online. read more

I went in to just look around and one of the fabulous people who work there, Erika, asked me if I needed any help. I told her that I was just looking around and didn't really know what I wanted. She asked me some questions, and picked out a few samples for me to take home and try. She recommended the Josie Maran Argan Oil to me, and while I was leery of anything with "Oil" in the name, I tried it out, and I LOVE IT. I am definitely going to go back to this store because of Erika! read more

Loooove Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume, but kinda felt like trying something different since 'new year, new you' and all. The ladies at Sephora were super friendly and helpful! I really appreciated their input. I decided on the sampler set because I just couldn't pick one yet (thanks, type b personality). Besides I need to test them out for community reactions and pick the one I get the most comments about. Will be back when results are in! read more

This is my home store, I do all my purchasing here. I have shopped with a few of the associates who always make my shopping trips extra special. Today I was helped by Ruth, I was exchanging a liquid lipstick that didn't work for me and needed a new one. She showed me similar shades and helped me swatch all of them till I found one was completely satisfied with. I highly recommend her she is knowledgeable about the products, communicated to me very well the best brand to suit my needs. Absolutely loved my experience today! Thank you Ruth! read more

The people working there are always a hit-or-miss type of thing. Majority of the time when I go the workers are friendly but there are those occasional times when there is the "bad egg" so to say. But during those times the store has been clean and well stocked. read more

I went in last week and I was literally WOWED. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and the lady who helped me listened to every single thing I had to say about my hesitance trying new products, spending too much money, not wanting crazy ingredients, the fact that my skin has been freaking out since the day I turned thirty, I'm hungry, oh wait, you're not a food store, can I eat that?, I actually don't wear that much makeup, I'm afraid I won't like this, this is what I used to use.... you get the gist. She suggested a few things, did an in-store application, and didn't pressure me to buy ANYthing. Before I even decided to buy my ONE THING, she introduced me to another lady there (a skin-care specialist) who made me 6 or 7 samples to try... all of which fit my numerous standards, and she even offered to let me come in for a free facial. Not only did I not feel judged (for being a smoker or for falling asleep with my makeup on or for using $1 eyeliner) or pressured (to stay or buy or make a decision or change my diet-- all things that have been suggested to me at other Sephoras) , I felt that they hit the nail on the head: customer service is truly about the relationship, and not about what you sell. I have been buying a lot of products online lately, but I will be going back to Sephora at Barton Creek because I feel like they care about me, and they truly want me to be happy with what I buy. Of course, they're salespeople. Of course, they want me to buy stuff, it's a retail store. But they want me to be HAPPY about the fact that I'm spending my money there. And I am. And I will again. read more

I love Sephora. Online. I have yet to visit a Sephora store where I felt welcomed. This location is no different. The following things are always experienced. Every single time. 1. Associates questioning you constantly. Please stop making me feel like you think I'm stealing. I hate that. 2. Feeling that you're being judged by your lack of makeup choices. I don't wear makeup every day. I'm pretty, you see:D But when I'm not wearing makeup, please stop staring at me like I'm a mythical creature you're unfamiliar with. 3. When I'm sniffing perfumes, pleaseeeee leave me alone. I know what I like, and you don't. And I'll smell as many as I like, thanks. 4. The same goes with my skin care and makeup. I only use certain brands, and I'm sure other people are the same. Maybe ask a customer which she prefers while making suggestions. Maybe I wouldn't say "no" to every suggestion if you did. 5. When I'm getting free samples, please be nicer. If I like it when I go home, I'll be back. (This especially when I haven't bought anything that trip.) Sometimes, I come in just to try a new product that is out, and if you don't want to give away samples, then stop doing it. read more

I recently got my makeup done here for a photo shoot and I left so pleased with the experience. I had never used Sephora for a makeup application before, but I'm sure that this won't be the last time. For a $75 gift card purchase I had a really wonderful makeup artist work magic on me. I couldn't have asked for a more talented or friendlier person to work with. If you need a makeup application, ask for Jeffrey English and you'll look better than you ever have. I wish I had looked that good on my wedding day! I also left with some really great products and have a few new things to add to my repertoire. Thanks again Jeffrey!! read more

I needed to be matched for a certain product. I walked around the store multiple times and was never acknowledged. I went to another makeup store to buy the product and some other things. What can I say? Sephora is my escape from everything negative in my life ever ! Im going to keep this as short and to the point as possible. I probably will never go to another Sephora again. It's like when you find your favorite wash and fold...you don't use another wash and fold. Today I went in for a concealer and left with a concealer, a new bronzer, a beautiful gloss, a beauty blender, and some needed makeup remover. Jillian helped me with the exact concealer that I wanted. (Sephora brand-affordable and really beautiful) JT taught me how to angle my eyebrows which is something I have been trying to do for a while now. Beauty bloggers make it looks so damn easy, but JT told me the tricks I need to know and a much simpler way of making them look beautiful and NATURAL. I am 8 months pregnant, so the simpler the better. Then I had the pleasure of meeting Randy who is just so beautiful and helped me find an amazing bronzer from bareMinerals. Everyone was so nice, so helpful, and I left with product that I am in LOVE with. I also just love the fact that if you don't like something, you can bring it back no hassle. Not sure if that's just for VIB members or everyone. Thank you for that Sephora ! read more

I can honestly say "the best" Sephora experience I've ever had! I'm a VIB so I've had many trips to Sephora this was only my 3rd time at this location, Dre asked if I needed anything and I told her about my troubled skin. She asked to feel my skin and could immediately tell that I had dry skin. She asked what products I already had and she showed me how to properly use them and other products I could cocktail together to get the coverage and balance out the redness on my face. Dre was so knowledgeable about each product and each ingredient and how it would work to benefit my skin! I came into the mall through jcpenny and stopped into the Sephora in there and not one person acknowledge me, so walking into the actual store was a totally different experience. I loved Dre and I will def be back after I try the sample products she sent me home with and the products I purchased. read more

Yasmeen helped me pick out makeup and showed me how to apply it. She did a great job and catered it to my level of knowledge!

I asked to be helped when someone had a minute and the girl said something about a list and when I asked "what was that?" Because I could not hear she walked away. Tried to search myself then another woman asked if I needed any help. Apparently I had missed the brush I was looking for and told her I had looked in that entire section and asked if she could point it out to me really fast because there was absolutely no one around us or in her area of the store but she said she couldn't move. What? -- so bizarre it led to my first yelp review. read more

I went to this location @ Barton Creek this evening around 8:30 PM (mall closes @ 9 PM) to quickly grab some things. I wanted to give Fenty foundation a try, and the sales associate who helped me was nice, knowledgable, & did a wonderful job at helping me color match to perfection. Even though the store was closing in 30 minutes, he did not rush the color matching process at all & took the time to try a few different shades while explaining different things about the makeup. He was understanding towards me wanting a makeup brand that does not test on animals, and was able to advise on different brands that are cruelty free. He also helped me look for a new makeup remover and showed me where a hair product I was looking for was while explaining the difference between the two options the brand offered. Because of his expertise and help, I left with a new foundation, new hair product that is best for my hair type, & a new makeup remover that I had not heard of prior to tonight that I am now a fan of and will purchase in the future. The second employee who made my shopping experience great was the associate who rang me up when I was done shopping. He asked me how my day was going & I told him that it had actually been a pretty rough day for me personally. He was extremely kind and his uplifting words helped my day out expediently. I will definitely be returning to this location when shopping in-store because of its great staff. They are also always stocked up on everything every time I have gone in. read more

I'm a fan of Sephora overall. The prices are a little pricey, but if a product doesn't work or a scent doesn't wear right on you, they take it back, no problem. To me, that is worth the extra $$.
