I resent having to give this place one star. Like many of the unfortunates in this thread, I was accosted in Barton Creek while strolling past. The hypodermic-needle-style container of the (15 ml of) super duper amazing Botox-invalidating goop did tighten up my under-eye area when applied. Only $699 for same. I nearly fell off my chair listening to this. Cue an escape to freedom and some research into how the tightening effect was achieved: clay. This company also flogs Dead Sea mud, so that explains the easy sourcing of key short-term tightening ingredients and the fact that the under-eye area feels rough and stiff after it dries. I would roll my eyes, but one is glued to the socket :) Do yourself a favor and run away, or don't be manipulated by the alternate aggressive compliments and insults. If there was a way to rate it a no star I would. This place is a scam. I admit that I let them bully me into buying stuff from don't want nor need. I knew trying to take the unopened stuff back was going to be a hassle even within the 7 day window. I tried to call them to let them know I expected my full refund with no argument but the phone did not work. I arrive and the guy tells me he cannot refund me and the manager would not be in until tomorrow. Unacceptable. If I waited, It would be a 20% restocking fee -- not happening. I tell him I'm going to call the customer service number and guess what -- not a good number. At this point, he's calling his boss and I'm going to look for mall security. I explain what's going on and the mall security accompanies back to the store. Now the guy decides he can do a refund for me. My suggestion is to stay clear of the place. I'm fifty and If I look my age - so be it. Don't let anyone steal your hard earned money. Shame on Tresor Rare salespeople. UPADATE: I received the standard letter shown below from the "CEO" via email. They offered a free gift which I declined. All I asked is that they train their employees properly. I just had a horrible experience with a young man standing outside of the store. As I passed the store, the sales person handed me a sample and proceeded with snatching it from my hand. He then came back and stated that I NEEDED eye cream. He asked me what products I use, I told him Lancôme and he asked if I resorted to using their "samples". I informed him that his behavior was very dispectful, especially when speaking to a 50 year old woman. His comeback was that the store was for the "wealthy" women because the cheapest item in the store was $400.00. All of the sudden I'm an old wrinkly AND poor woman who needs, but can't afford their products??? I made it clear that his tactics were not acceptable and made for terrible marketing. I'm a business owner and should my employees treat another human being like this while representing my business, they would not be employed for long. Tresor Rare approaches customers walking through Barton Creek Mall with a free sample packet that looks like a wrapped black condom. (Yes, I told them that. More than once. Just for grins.) Once you're lured within, they attempt to sell you a Lionesse product that they claim will remove dark circles from under your eyes. The product feels good on your skin, until they tell you that it's $399, discounted today only from $700. That made more than just my eyes pucker. As the conversation progresses, there's talk about a spa in back that will remove all your wrinkles for $15K. Of course, the pitch is to guilt trip you into "taking better care of yourself", starting today, of course. And only today if you want a once-in-a-lifetime deal. If you get to second base, you'll figure out that they will throw in another product to exfoliate your skin. This product is also priced at $399, but--just for you--FREE. I wasn't told that this product was a Dead Sea salt scrub, but it looked and performed similarly on the back of my hand to others I've tried. I bought a similar product off the shelf at HEB recently for about $7. If you get to third base, you find the price for both products comes down to $249. If you hit a home run, they'll sell you the eye cream alone for $149. Unfortunately, Tresor Rare's products and their "exclusive ingredients" seem very similar to products I've seen at grocery and warehouse club road shows for far less, no haggling necessary. I've passed on those offers in the past because I think they're just overpriced hogwash. I've gotten some really good cleanings of the back of my hand from those trials, however. My Tresor Rare consultant was named Mia, and she said she was from Monaco by way of Florida, but her thick accent spoke of some other exotic destination. She was very nice, but also very pushy. I had to be very careful and have her repeat her offers lest I commit myself to a lifetime of debt through a verbal misunderstanding due to a language barrier. I had a good time playing the ball game with Tresor Rare. In the end, I bought nothing. On the way out, Mia asked me to write a Yelp review. I was told their "competitors" have been writing false negative reviews for Tresor Rare in an attempt to "get their space in the mall". Can you imagine that? Those horrible people! I must be one of them, LOL! P.S. A few minutes after leaving Tresor Rare, I used Dillard's restroom to take off the eye mask. That's all it really was: makeup to lighten the dark spots under your eyes and an astringent base to make you think you'd found the magical liopleurodon of skincare to roll back the years. Sadly, an older lady fell for it while I was there, and I couldn't save her from her vanity. She wasn't there long enough to have played the full Tresor Rare game, so I suspect she parted with $400 for only the Lionesse eye cream product. So sad if she did, because it was only "worth" $149. It did make a visible difference in my eye skin compared to the other side, but I wasn't born yesterday; there are lots of tricks to make temporary changes in your skin. She wanted $350, which is a LOT of money. Also, I want to research any expensive product before I buy it. So, I told her I'd think about it. Suddenly, she became incredibly rude. Clearly I don't care about my skin. What else could be more important? I should realize that my skin won't look different tomorrow because it's a TREATMENT and you need to keep with it for it to work (scam alert, when they really don't want you to walk away and think about it). Her tone of voice became venomous. My good mood evaporated. Even if the product had magically turned my eyes 21 again, I would never buy from them after her rudeness. Also, that pricing structure is a scam. No legitimate business offers products in-store for a third or less of what they cost online, nor do they immediately offer to bargain prices with you. Same technique as other beauty places that have sample by their front door, as you walk by to grab a sample, they pounce on you, to tell you all about their "unique, one of a kind rare beauty life changing" products. We all been there as the sale person slaps some instant face lifter on you. Then calls his other co employee, "the closure" to come share In your miraculous instant face lift, because it is so amassing. Of course the product is overly expensive, but wait the over $1,500 eye cream, is on sale for $800, but for you it can be $400. As you walk out the door, without purchasing, there is a facial for free and the price can be $280. Just for you. Maybe a good product, do not know, but really the price is negotiable. So this place is scary and weird. I ended up buying eye cream from them for $150, which they originally said was $700. I wish I had just walked away while I had the chance. They are very pushy and won't stop trying to sell you the product even if you say no. Now the cream or filler is pretty cool and I actually do see results from it, but I can't believe I spent $150 on it. I felt brain washed going in there. Looking back on it and reading reviews from their other stores (Lionesse in Vegas), I wish I had known better. These people and the company have a very demented approach to stealing your money. The guy (David) was very nice, but at one point he kept me at the vanity and blocked me in with his knee, so that I could not easily get up and leave. I've been using it for 3 years now and have seen great results so far..I used to order it from the website all the time, but I was excited to see the store when I passed by. They greeted me when I came in, were extremely polite, the store looked AMAZING, and I didn't feel pushed or anything like some have said... I've decided to buy the bx line after the skin specialist tried it on my skin and I've noticed a huge change.. No, it's not cheap, and yes I do think it's worth it because doing the alternatives will definitely cost me more.. So far I've been using the new line I bought for 2 weeks and I really like it.. Normally, I do not review but I thought I should warn others. Tresor Rare lures you in and scams you. They use aggressive sale tactics to make the price look good. As I was taken into the store in Kansas, I felt attacked and pressured to buy $400 facial peel that is definitely not worth the price despite them lowering the price to under $100 to get you to buy. I was not able to distinguish how the ingredients used to make the products actually help you. While you may see a difference in the store, it does not last. They will try to lure you in with "free gifts" added onto the expensive price. Since I am young and inexperienced with scammers, I was not brave enough to reject them and ended up paying a ridiculous amount for the facial peel that is also NONRETURNABLE! I was passing by to go to Talbots at Barton Creek Square, this man standing outside store pushed a sample in my hand, then said wait, put some cream on my undereye and "11" upper nose/forehead wrinkle. He tried to strong arm me into the store, but I told him I had business at Talbots. He said, "see you when you return." On my way out, he grabbed me again. Now, in all fairness, the cream he put on my undereye, crows feet and "11" did diminish the wrinkles remarkably, by plumping up my skin. Didn't take wrinkles away, just plumped up skin so they weren't so furrowed. Skin where he applied the cream felt tight. And, did look good. But, it didn't last. A few hours later, my wrinkles were back. Regarding their sales tactics - the most pushy I have ever seen. So, on my way out, he said, "Oh my God, your eyes look fantastic, darling!" He took my hand and led me into the store, all the while I am protesting I don't have time, I had another appointment. He told me the cream he used on me is regularly &750, but today and today only, for me, $349. When I kept saying I had to go, he added on another product for me free, "my gift to you" he said. More hesitation from me and saying "i have to go" he added yet another product free! He said, "You know have all 3 products worth over $2500 for only $349, in fact, I will give you even $50 more off - all 3 for only $299! He kept saying how it was an amazing deal, it was a 7 year supply! You need this! This deal good only today, you walk out the store, deal off!" He also told me with purchase of the product, I would get 3 free facials, and look like a million bucks! How did this pushy sales approach finally end? I told him, "I like your product, I have to admit it did work on my wrinkles, I see that, but...I don't have a credit card with me today." He looked at me increduously for a moment, then abruptly said, "Well, have a nice day then! Some other day then! Bye, bye!" There's the secret to shut them down - don't have my credit card. And, in fact, I didn't have a credit card with me that I would want to use on a $300 purchase (plus whatever else he would try to talk me into). Bottom line - results yes. The staff at Austin's Tresor is friendly and accommodating. I had no intention of buying a thing when I walked in, but after seeing the puffiness under my eyes disappear with the application of the eye serum, I was sold. (It really was remarkable.) The skin peel is also a great product. I purchased the skin regiment package, and although, I was stunned by the price, I am dedicated to taking better care of my skin. Perhaps the price gives me even more motivation! Additionally, I had a facial in their spa. Cindy was cheerful and professional. She is very professional and educated me even more on the products sold at this location. The space was restful and immaculate. There was some initial communication confusion on the instructions, but the owner, Jiovanni reached out to me. He spent a lot of time and effort making sure I felt better about my purchase. I consider myself an intelligent woman who is told often that I have great skin (especially for my age) by friends, estheticians and the like. I hadn't been to Barton Creek mall in a while and wanted to hit up my favorites.. Sephora,Old Navy.. Nordstrom's. As I am walking back to my car to go home, I am literally accosted by a handsome man from Portugal extolling the virtues of a magical eye cream. He was nice and I was tired.. and I had no idea that this fancy store was the same as the kiosk salespeople selling their Dead Sea shit. I liked the results if the eye cream and the exfoliator/moisturizer combo even though it cost about $200. I pulled the trigger and got it (self conscious about my dark circles and the exfoliator was better than anything I had tried). Big mistake on so many levels. Then handsome man from Portugal then told me the #1 esthetician for Trevor Rare wanted to see me!! He was so excited but his acting was horrible and I realized I was a mark for the long con. But like a previous reviewer said.. it was like I became brainwashed for an hour. The mask and serum were warm and comforting, the pretty Russian lady was "keeping it real" with me about my skin. I kept telling her "I cannot afford this, my husband is a college student" and she kept cooing at me that I needed to do something for myself. The price for the system went from $8000 to $900 and I was honestly gonna buy the system (!!!). But then Two things happened. I went to the bathroom and shook myself out of the brainwash haze I was in and then THANKFULLY Chase declined the charge. I then proceeded to let Chase flag it as fraudulent because $1020 (tax y'all) for skin care when I make about $60,000 and my husband makes about $2 as a full time college student is INSANE. The woman helping me .. well her demeanor totally changed and she became very suspicious and kept asking me questions and I basically faked a phone call from my husband and GTFO man. Let me be clear. I told her AT LEAST 8 times that I couldn't afford it. It was like she wasn't going to let me leave the store. In my life I have never experienced anything like this - seemingly nice people being aggressive and nice at the same time. I did apologize for wasting her time but it was obvious they were not going to take no for an answer. This is aggressive marketing/sales that zeroes in on people's worst fears about themselves. Implying that if I use this system for 3 years my husband will find me attractive and our sex life will be better. It's insidious and demeaning and EFFECTIVE because I almost bought the damn thing. I was in The Mall of Georgia August 14th, when I accepted a sample of moisturizer....boy was that a mistake. I was quickly taken to their spa store where a guy began to put a facial mask on my face. He started his sales pitch by showing me a LED wand that would smooth the wrinkles on my face..which it did. He continued to pull out products for my skin that were used with this LED light. The boxes began to pile up on the table....these were going to be used with the LED light weekly to keep the wrinkles away. When I asked about the prices....I was told "this is an investment in me, it's a face lift in a jar". All the time I'm telling the guy, I had a hair appointment in 10-15 min.....but he did not pay me any attention...just kept slapping stuff on my face. The LED light costs $7500 but he can discount it to $3500..including all of the products that accompany the LED light....and because he wants "to work with me" he will include refills of all the products for two years...although according to him, the products should last a year or two...I kept telling him I would never spend that amount of money without discussing it with my husband. His high pressure and predatory tactics continued...finally I agree to buy a few things just to get out of there...I thought if I bought something I could get away....I was 45 min late for my hair appt....I agreed to $1000 but my Amex was charged $1669...I went back to the store this AM requesting they take back the product and return my money......oh no, they would not hear of it..in fact I was told they would charge another $1600 for the rest of the products...I returned home, discussed the outcome with my spouse and we called American Express.....they are going to contact the store and dispute the charges and discuss their predatory sales tactics.....this company has been blocked from charging on my AmEx card....AmEx does not expect me to pay initial $1699 they will work with Tresor Rare to recover their money. I bought it because I saw immediate results while in the Tresor Rare store, however, the product I purchased does not give me anywhere near the results I had in the store. Predatory is the feeling I got from my experience. I told the salesman that I was a preschool teacher and the amount he was asking to fix my aged skin was half my rent. I never looked at my own face and saw bags and lines. I think my skin looks healthy and vibrant for a woman approaching 60. The salesman pointed out the flaws and suggested again and again that I could have beautiful skin if I purchased the syringe of cream. The salesman convinced me to sample and look younger. The application device looks like an injector... No needle, but it looks like a Botox injector. Ugh. I feel violated. I paid the bill with my charge card. Stupid move on my part. I used the cream according to the instructions for several months. It ran out after three months, long before the six months promised. My bags and lines are exactly the same while I'm still paying the bill. The free jar of facial peel causes me to break out in bumps that clear up after about 48 hours. My skin is fine. I am getting old. I should not expect to look 30 at 60. If a Tresor Rare salesperson approaches me again, I will want to knock him off his feet with my purse, but I won't. I am prone to yelling and might cause a scene. We shall see. For now, I will enjoy ageing my way and avoid that part of the mall. read more
