I can spend hours and hours browsing through Sephora but I find that so many items are either out of stock or unavailable at this location. I went in looking for the Tarte Amazonian clay blush and the Sephora Mineral Foundation Compact but neither of the products were in stock in the shade I wanted. I really enjoy the Sephora at Barton Creek Mall. The team that works there are all very helpful and have always directed me to products that work for my skin type. I love the fact that they do not work off of commission. What does this mean....they do not need to sell you stuff just to make a paycheck. They always sample me items and 8 out of 10 times I end up purchasing what they sampled me. I like the fact that they educate their customers. What I really like is that you can expect to get the truth, I have server dark circles under my eyes and I have gone all over looking for eye creams to help get rid of the circles...I am 50 and the employee that helped me was the only sales person to every just call it out. I just finished shopping at Barton creek and it's the day after Christmas, so Sephora was PACKED. I needed help looking for a color corrector, and I'm writing this review just to say how amazingly helpful and nice Ziggy was. She took the time to help me find the perfect shade of concealer, give me advice on how to apply my makeup so that it wouldn't crease under my eyes, and even sent home with me a setting powder sample. I love going in to Sephora to feed my makeup addiction. I feel that this location has a great selection and most of the staff that I have worked with are really great. The only thing I don't like about it is how small it feels. There are always a ton of people inside and it can be a bit cramped. I LOVE Sephora but this particular Sephora is the WORST. Every single time I go there you can never get anyone to help you. I wanted to try the new Naked foundation by Urban Decay so I wandered around the store forever trying to find a sales assistant to help with my color. I finally found a man near the perfume wall which was ohhhhhhhh about 4 feet away from the Urban Decay counter. When I asked him to help me he said "I am really not suppose to leave this wall." HELLO you are 4 feet away and doing nothing. I literally laughed out loud because I thought he was kidding. LAZY. Then when I went to check out, I had a 10% off coupon and you would have thought I asked the girl to carry my unborn child with how irritated she was. It has been this way the past few times I have shopped here! Over Christmas I went to the Sephora at Memorial City Mall in Houston and the staff there was lovely. I walked in and it was 6:30 p.m and on sundays they close at 7p.m the lady said if she can help me and i said no thank you like 2-3 min passed and she asked me again and i said no thank you. One again she came in like 2 min and said if she can help me because they are going to close the store in 5 min and i said but it's 6:40 and you close at 7 she said i know but i like closing early so we can clean and i said okay i will finish looking in this aisle. Like a min passed and she said what are you looking for? (In a rude,yelling voice) i said nothing I'm just looking at this pallet and she said oh well your not gonna but it and there's not enough time so..... and i was like okay I'll leave. *Background*- there was 3 or 4 ladies inside just looking around and there was 6 minutes before closing she was rude and was hurring me up for no reason and she didn't even say anything to the other costumers.i got out super angry by the way she talked to me. read more

I am an avid Sephora fan and have been for years. I am a true believer that you get what you pay for with cosmetics, and drugstore brands just don't cut if for this girl. I travel a ton for work and always check out the local Sephora (s) wherever I go. While working in Austin I decided to check out the Sephora at Barton Creek. It was a rough day at work and I was in the mood for some retail therapy to cheer me up. When I entered the store, I was greeted pleasantly by a sales girl and asked if I needed help finding anything. This is nice, and typical for Sephora. I politely declined and said I was fine on my own. In most stores I would be able to continue to shop without being bothered.. However every 5 steps I took I had one of the sales girls approach me and ask if I needed help. I am not exaggerating! I understand that there are some people that enter a Sephora and are totally overwhelmed and need assistance with finding the right products, but I am not one of them and I thought I had made it very clear. With each sales girl that approached me, even after they heard me tell the one before them that I was fine, I was clearly getting more and more agitated. They were like vultures, watching my every move and jumped on me each time I picked up a product! The final straw was when I picked up a bottle of shampoo and a sales girl, the same one that had just approached me 2 minutes ago, asked me if I had any questions about the product. I set the bottle down and immediately left empty handed. Their loss because I was in the spending mood. If you are one of those people that need coddled and taught how to apply mascara, this would be the right Sephora for you. If you have any knowledge about makeup, or just want to shop in peace, I suggest you find another location. read more

This is a bad Sephora. This is the only location that has ever made me feel uncomfortable for returning something. The guy opened the product in front of me and smelled it and rubbed it between his fingers to see if it was filled with the real product. Then they called over the manager and she have me a speech about how I should ask for a sample next time so that they "can at least sell it". First of all, I'm a Rouge and I spend hundreds every time I visit. There's bound to be a return or two. Second of all, it's not my fault that your sales peoples' mentality is "just try it and if you don't like it return it!". They're weird about making samples they'd rather you just buy it and most people would be too lazy to actually return it if they don't like it and they bet on that. Overall, this Sephora location is too suspicious of even their best customers and that makes them a little ratchet in my eyes. read more

Cristina helped me out with fragrances and was extremely generous with her time and with samples of fragrances I was considering purchasing today. She's great! Good job, Sephora, for hiring such a helpful and nice salesperson. My experience at another large, high-end department store in the same mall was not nearly as pleasant. The saleswoman there did not offer me any assistance or a sample, even when I asked if I could please have one sample of a particular fragrance. i will definitely purchase the fragrance at Sephora, now. read more

I love Sephora. I wish there were a way to enter the store from the parking lot so I wouldn't have to deal with going in to the Mall :P That being said, it's a small sacrifice I make to get my makeup and beauty supplies! I usually get my makeup from MAC, but, everything else from Sephora. Prepare yourself to be a little overwhelmed when you first walk in, Sephora by nature is filled from top to bottom with products. I would recommend looking online to familiarize yourself with what products they carry so you have an idea of what you're looking for. My favorite things to purchase there are makeup tools such as brushes, and body products like shower gels and lotions. Oh! and fragrances too. I've never had a problem getting help at all, everyone is always eager to recommend something new. There are a few very entertaining gentlemen that work there who have helped me with everything from scents to false eyelashes. Love it! read more

I visited this Sephora (which is always insanely busy on the weekends do not visit if you have an aversion to loud teenagers) two weeks ago. I was in need of a foundation match. I scheduled a walk-in appointment (free of charge) and I was seen by one of Sephora's beauty advisors within 15 minutes. The girl was nice, fast, and very knowledgable. She answered my beauty questions and did her very best to come up with a foundation match I was happy with I ended up leaving with a shade I felt very comfortable in. I would use the service again just not during peak hours on a Sunday. read more

Bethany was SO great! (...I was going to fill out a survey via Sephora but.... I lost the receipt. So might as well bring my review to Yelp and tell everyone how awesome my experience was!) I really want to thank her for the time she spent with me. I walked in to check out a foundation that I had seen an advertisement for, and ironically, the store was out of stock. However, Bethany was going to have me try on the sample so I would know for next time I came by. But as we got to make up bar, I started telling her about my skin, and how I have had some small issues with acne for the last year (24 year old with breakouts like a 15 year old boy! BLEH). She ended up showing me a few products, including base cleanser, acne cleanse, moisturizer, and exfoliate scrub, all of which I really didn't know much about. What was so cool was how she educated me on the purpose of each one, and showed me why I would want to use them. Long story short, she really helped me realize that there are other tools I can use to help my skin be healthier, and I ended up leaving with acne cleanse cream, a scrub, a moisturizer, and a nars concealer. Not what I walked in for at all, but I was so pumped leaving the store. Best part is... my skin is totally clearing up! I can already notice a difference. I'm so happy. Don't get me wrong, I love Sephora. But, not this particular Sephora. It is smaller than any Sephora I have ever been in, and I have been in A LOT of them. Not only is it smaller, but the employees here are rude, unhelpful, and frankly, do not know what they are doing the majority of the time. I returned an item and had forgotten the particular credit card I had used, and the guy at the register told me that I couldn't return it. I had to literally turn my receipt over and show him the store's return policy. He then said that he still couldn't do it. I had to tell him how to do it-not even kidding. And, to top it all off, he was really rude and abrasive. If you are going to go to a Sephora, don't waste your time here. Go to the one on Great Hills-it has much better merchandise and options, and the staff there is always very nice and welcoming. Ask for Jenny-she's one of the best employees they have there. read more
