I made an appointment online to get a full face of makeup for an event that I was attending and the appointment got canceled the day of... I was very disappointed; the store called me to cancel the appointment. And even though the appointment was canceled, the person who called me did refer me to the KoP location for the same time but KoP was not convenient for me... So I visited the Ardmore store anyway to shop for a few things to do my own makeup. The sales associate was helpful and friendly and was a great at assisting me to find what I needed. I will definitely return because this location is so close to me but I will not be making any more appointments to get my makeup done - especially not for anything that is important to me; that cancellation left me a little sour. read more

Such a horrible shopping experience! I wouldn't even say anything if I didn't feel so uncomfortable. I came into this store because they carry my foundation and I was in a pinch. I asked staff for some additional help with an item I was looking for and they gave off such a rude vibe coupled with many eye rolls... after reluctantly leading me to the section I was looking for (though this is their job) the woman dismissively informed me "oh yeah (eye roll) we don't have that" doesn't even try to offer to help in anyway (I would imagine it could be shipped to my house since it was in stock online) I continued to shop on my own, but this particular woman who was seemingly welcoming guests at the front (not very welcoming in my opinion) checked on me once more with many more eye rolls. I felt so uncomfortable and just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. I proceeded to check out with the foundation. The cashier was diligent, however I could feel/see the woman who was supposedly helping me walk around the perimeter of the counter with once again many more eye rolls ( this was confirmed as I saw the cashier looking back with eye rolls and turned around to see the woman glaring at the cashier) as if I was doing something wrong by going up to the counter to pay for the items I had located myself without their help. When asked if I was helped, I had to say no! Why would I give someone credit who made me feel so judged for walking in and asking for help with a product location! What a horrible experience and I will never shop at this location again. read more

As soon as I entered this location the girl at the door was not very welcoming, (ironic considering shes standing at the door to do just that: warmly welcome customers.) She literally looked me up and down from head to toe, which okayyyy, I wouldn't have taken the time to leave a negative review over just that. I know that sounds like I'm nit picking but you can tell when a person is welcoming & when their not - period. An older woman at some point practically followed me around to tell me they were "closing soon" basically telling me without saying it "stop looking around and wrap it up lady" so I did, I got in line.. (it was around 5pm 5:15 on new years eve, and there wad about 8-10 people in line.) like okay I get it its new years eve, who wants to be working on new years eve, but we've all been there. The next thing that happened is why I took the time to leave this review and what really blew my mind. As I approach the register the older woman who was about to check me out barely says hello to me, and is complaining OUT LOUD to her coworker at the other register saying "omg this is ridiculous its freakin new years eve." Basically very visibly irritated that they had a ton of customers in line right before they closed. She made me feel so uncomfortable. I wanted to split my purchase on a sephora giftcard and my regular card and I felt like I couldn't even "bother" the woman with this request because I was sure she wouldn't like it. I had one exceptional experience about nine months back. Since then, I've visited about 4x and these experiences were not great- the exact opposite actually. To their credit, this Sephora has a convenient location, and a solid selection for the small space. The customer service, on the other hand, is leaving a lot to be desired. They're not even rude, that would require them to acknowledge your existence and if you're looking for direction or guidance on products, you'd have better luck asking the floor associate at your local CVS. Shaving off one star because it's a bit small (but it doesn't serve a huge clientele like others I'm used to). Also they could replenish some of the supplies more for trying items on. read more

Normally very friendly staff and typically has what I need. They don't take appointments through the app for makeup, but I had seen people getting it done before, so I went in the day before I needed it to double check if I'd be able to get just lashes and possibly eyes for my engagement pictures. The woman I asked about it was super helpful and polite, spoke to the makeup artist to let him know I'd be coming in, and they both told me around 1 would be best. I moved my dry bar appt up 3 whole hours so I could have time to get this done before we left even though my hair doesn't hold very well, as they said (and I suspected) it'd be smarter to get my hair done before my makeup. I go in after my dry bar appt to see how long the wait is. Older woman at the front immediately cops an attitude with me saying their "cm" called out. I don't know what that means so I explain I'm not looking for a full face just eyes and lashes and she says the same thing with more attitude. I explain to her someone told me yesterday that I'd be good to come in around now and asked what the person over at the mirror is getting done. She looked at me like I was stupid and said, again with more attitude, that they were just getting a foundation match. Like I should have known. Now both kop and chestnut street are fully booked and I'm SOL, hoping my hair holds up for my photos for 4+ hours for absolutely no reason. Store needs better staffing, especially on the weekends. read more

Came here and was looking for one specific item, was not here to browse. I went up to the counter and approached a man standing on the side. I asked where I could find grandelash and his response was I'm not on the clock I can't help you, I'll call someone over. Unbelievable. I have worked in the customer service industry for years and I would NEVER do or say something like that. It would've taken him 5 seconds out of his day to walk me over. But instead he was worried he wasn't on the clock to be paid. The only reason why I didn't give 1 star was because Jim the other sales associate who helped me out was wonderful. Will never enter this store again. While I was looking at something, a salesperson stepped right in front of me with another customer and took her time while I waited. When the other customer finally walked away, I angrily asked if I was then allowed to look at the shelf. The salesperson said something vaguely apologetic with a grin on her face and no eye contact. Hiring salespeople who are extremely unattractive and blatantly rude to sell costly cosmetics must be a new marketing strategy that wasn't taught in my MBA program. I had an appointment before a wedding, I received a cancellation text 2 hours before, and a voicemail they were closing the store at 1pm. My appointment was at 1, and it was snowing out. The fact that they couldn't wait an hour to help me blows my mind. I went in early before my hair appointment and the entire staff (except for one) was so entirely rude and have not business working in retail. I begged them for any help they could give me as I had no makeup with me and the wedding was in a few hours and the rudeness I received I'm still not over. I ended up going to Blue Mercury up the street and they helped me. Sephora employees missed out on a huge tip as I would've been so grateful for help. Also, it stopped snowing an the weather was beautiful so they had no reason to close and ruin my day. I was very pleased with my visit here today. The lady who helped me was very nice and patient and answered all of my questions. She seemed very knowledgeable about not only make-up, but also skin cares, and moisturizers. Although this location is not as big as some of their other locations, I felt as if they had a nice variety of products. The item I wanted was not currently in stock, so they were nice enough to have it shipped to me free of charge. I was also excited because unlike Ulta they sell Fenty beauty and had a nice amount of products available for purchase. Although it's the holiday season, and the store was busy, they had a lot of staff walking around and asking if customers needed assistance. I was greeted the moment I walked in the door and asked if I needed any help. I will say there is limited street parking; however, there is a free parking lot across the street for any customers shopping in the complex. read more

I really dislike this Sephora, but it's my closest one so I tend to pick up stuff there out of convenience. I would actually prefer to shop online and wait.....for a package to arrive 3-5 days later than deal with the salespeople at this store. Today for example, I walked in, no one even attempted to say hello. No one once in the thirty minutes I was in the store asked if they needed help once. Yes, it is Saturday and Saturday's are busy, but hell I work on Saturday's and I still manage to make eye contact and acknowledge customers even if there is a line or I'm helping someone else. I got the three items I went in the store for, found something else to try and I had two questions. Guess what those questions didn't get answered because even the cashier was unpleasant. I'm a VIB $200 short of being a Rouge, but if it were only based on my experience at this store, I would shop elsewhere. read more

This sephora is brand new and it's pretty awesome! It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be considering most of the shops at suburban square are smaller boutiques. Aside from size of the store and variety, they really have just about anything you could need in makeup. I like the setup of the store and the wide selection and the employees offered their assistance but didn't get pushy when I wanted to be on my own. Parking down the street is easy since there is a large parking lot. Only issue is you have to walk a tiny bit which sucks on bad weather. If it's nice out, enjoy an outing to Sephora and the Starbucks a few stores down. My only issues which were minor is I couldn't find shopping baskets that are usually available at Sephora and aside from the beauty desk area, there weren't many mirrors. read more

I went to return something from another Sephora since this 1 is close to my doctor's office. The cashier was a little short at first but I'm a nice person an she was nice by the end of the transaction (hey isn't that supposed to be the other way around). I wanted a sample of the new UD All Nighter foundation so I approached a friendly older associate, she hooked me up & there were a few other girls just hanging out and sizing me up at the counter... not very comfortable... I want to start by saying I NEVER write reviews. I was so stressed having been in 4 different states in the last 7 days that I was about to have a break down when I was suddenly called to Miami for a job interview and had left my makeup bag in New Jersey. I walked in looking like a hot mess, was instantly greeted by Dez who saw I was in a full panic. Dez grabbed a basket and walked over to me and said "I'm going to help you, what did you forget." Dez helped me mentally walk through my makeup routine to help find the items I forgot. I literally did not know the names of any of my products and within seconds of giving a description of the packaging or half a title Dez quickly escorted me to the right section, found my shade and popped it into the bag. When one of my products was discontinued Dez quickly found me the perfect replacement. Dez's knowledge of Sephora's products and store layout was incredible. I was in and out of this store in less than 10 minutes will all my favorites back in my possession. I had people waiting for me in a car and they were shocked to see how little time it took me. Well little did they know that Dez was my secret weapon! I had to get on here and give credit where credit was due. My interview went great, I looked fresh and fabulous with my full face of makeup. I know Dez could tell the stress I was under but I was truly at the end of my rope for time and mental capacity. So THANK YOU DEZ! REALLY upset. Just got back from an attempted shopping trip to Sephora. I am not a make-up wearer, but I needed a specific product. I traveled out to the Sephora location at Suburban Sq. Ardmore, PA. Hard to find BTW. Finally got there - walked around the store aimlessly for a few minutes trying to find what I needed. Finally a CSR approached me. I asked her for the product I needed. She had no clue. Says they don't sell it. It is a SEPHORA branded product!!! I explained what it was and she proceeded to tell me to go to Ulta. Really? Again I expressed my displeasure b/c the product is clearly sold by Sephora and available online. She 'helpfully' explained that some products are only available online but if I knew my color# she would be happy to order it for me. DUH - I do not know my color # which is why I went to the store to begin with. When I said I don't know it - she just shook her head in sympathy. NEVER GOING BACK. If Ulta does sell it - THEY have my business ! read more

I have never been a fan of Sephora, I've always preferred Ulta, maybe thats just because I live closer to an Ulta and Sephora is way out of the way. That being said, I was looking for a glow kit from Anastasia and no places close to home had them. I checked the Sephora website and it told me that the glow kit's were still in stock at the Suburban Square location. I figured I should call to make sure that it was defiantly there, so i did but the phone rang for 2 minutes so I hung up and figured I would drive there. I drove 45 minutes only to find out that they were out of stock. I know this was not the stores fault but I was very frustrated, the one associate who was helping me explained that it was a very popular product and there will be more shipment coming in friday. A couple minutes later a another sales associate approached me and asked if I needed help and I said "No thanks I'm just looking" and she said " Well we close in like two minutes." Her attitude was very uncalled for. Not to mention before I drove there i checked the website and it said they closed at 9, it was 8 when they closed. Service was fine until I placed an online order in store. They didn't have the product I was looking for and I decided to order in-store for the item to be shipped to my home. However, while they were processing my online order they were also processing my return service. Honestly, it was very rushed and hectic since they were trying to do both at the same time. I tried to ask about which address they were shipping to but by then they had already processed the order and they shipped to an address that does not belong to me anymore. They didn't even ask to confirm the address with me or say anything. Afterwards, they told me to call customer service because they can't do anything in store to fix the problem. I called customer service and they told me they also can't do anything since the order has already been shipped and was told to call USPS. I called USPS and entered the tracking number twice but was told that the tracking number was incorrect. I cannot even reach a representative today to fix the problem because the office is closed today. At this point, I just want to cancel the order at this point but that does not even seem possible. I really regret ordering the item in-store and should have just done it online myself. I thought ordering in-store would be relatively pain-free but it seems that it has caused a lot more problems and tasks than necessary. read more
