I called ahead of time and was told that they charge $15 starting off for a KIDS haircut. Ok, that's fine. My daughter requested side layers and the stylist was done in about 5 mins. No wash, nothing. They wanted to charge me $40!!! That's ridiculous!! For a child with thin hair and no wash or blowout? Are you kidding me? I got the price down to $30 and tipped 5. Never going back. You were warned!!

I went in and was entirely unhelpful about what I wanted with my hair -- I wanted red but not too red and not purple-y red, I part my hair differently depending on the day, I wasn't sure the length I wanted etc. And she very patiently listened to everything I had to say and mixed a color for me. She spent so much time carefully selecting each portion of my hair, and applying the dye. She ended up creating the perfectly natural red highlights that blended with my already highlighted hair. She took so much time to blow dry it, and to perfect the cut (when my hair was both dry and wet) -- she first asked me and then took about 5 inches off which made my hair so much healthier! The stylists themselves have always been kind and do their best, but they often seem overwhelmed and unsupported. The actual color service has generally been fine, but the overall experience has consistently been frustrating. Some of the recurring issues I've experienced include: The app frequently does not work properly for scheduling appointments. I've arrived and been told they had the wrong appointment time for me. Long wait times have repeatedly made me late for work. No hot water -- this has happened twice on very cold days. I was told they had been requesting a new water heater for months. Washing hair with cold water in the winter is unacceptable. My computer charger broke because one of the outlets was extremely tight. Staff attempted to contact a manager about reimbursement, but I never heard back. Appointments are often delayed or disrupted because a staff member has called out at the last minute. There is no way to reach a live person by phone when issues come up. The fact that this is my first Yelp review ever really says a lot. I truly want this place to succeed, but it feels like both the staff and customers deserve better support and management. I keep saying I'm not going to return, but I still have the membership, which is the only reason I've continued coming back.

I came in to see Rachel and let her know that it was well over a year since I've had an actual haircut. I also let her know that I wanted a curly perm that would give my hair more volume. My hair naturally is pin-straight and very fine, which means that it is not the easiest type of hair to perm. Rachel went above and beyond with her service. She cut my hair to perfection, exactly as I wanted. No more, no less. During the cut, she found a dread lock that I have been meaning to brush out. That dreadlock was in my hair for nearly 8 years, it was the last one I had left. While we were waiting for my perm to start, she volunteered to start brushing it out and Wei came over to assist. In under 10 minutes, they were able to completely brush out the dreadlock and trim it so that it was the same length as the rest of my hair! This also meant that I got a second shampooing!!! I was so ecstatic that they were able to brush it out that very same day because those hairs from the dreadlock were going to be permed too! Wei and Rachel double-teamed my perm when putting it in the curlers. What I loved about the service is that it was my first time using different sized curlers for my entire head which Wei suggested because it was suppose to give the perm more texture. She was completely RIGHT, I was so happy with the end result. Now that it's been nearly a week and I've washed out the perm. I have been receiving compliments on it every single day. What I loved the most about this salon is: - Rachel was waiting for my arrival. I usually have to sit and wait anywhere else, but for once my stylist was waiting on me! - CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. The entire salon was completely spotless! - Rachel and Wei took their time to perfect my hair to my exact liking. - My service, for once, did not feel rushed! They take their time here and really care about their customers. - My hair typically takes 2.5 - 3 hours, but because the girls were so entertaining, it felt like the service was finished in the blink of an eye! I will be returning to this salon to see Rachel and Wei for all of my cuts and perming needs, thank you so much for making my hair beautiful again!

My wife came in for a haircut and blow dry, and our son (who has long, curly/wavy hair) was…read morescheduled for a trim at the same time. While my wife was getting her hair washed, our son's haircut was done, so she didn't get to see the result until the very end. Her haircut itself was fine, but the blow dry was poorly done. The stylist only straightened the mid-lengths and ends, leaving the top 2-3 inches at the roots curly and frizzy. When she pointed this out, the stylist said it was "because her hair is curly." She explained that she had plenty of blowouts before and that the roots are always smoothed. He offered to flat iron it, but that's not what she wanted. She expected a proper blowout, not bone-straight hair. When she told him that he should've been upfront if he couldn't do a blowout, he got defensive and raised his voice. She wasn't going to let anyone speak to her disrespectfully, so she raised her voice too. At that point, the other stylist stepped in to re-wet her hair, and my wife used her own curly hair products and just left with her hair natural. Then she looked at our son's haircut and it was visibly uneven and crooked. When she brought it up, both stylists insisted it was "just the way curly hair looks" or that she was "pulling on a strand." That wasn't the case, it was just a bad, rushed cut. They did offer to fix it, but by then she'd lost all confidence in their ability to do so. If you don't know how to properly work with curly hair, cutting it or blowing it out , just say so. This wasn't our first time here, and her previous experience was decent, but this visit was disappointing. It felt rushed and careless, and that simply doesn't work with curly hair. We won't be coming back.
