I visited to get another bottle of the: Sepay Groves Frantoio EVOO which is cold-pressed olives with a high poly- a bit peppery, grassy and (to me) a tad bitter. I use as a finishing oil drizzled on roast vegetables or for pasta dishes. Frantoio olive oil also has known health benefits! A great antioxidant, reduce inflammation, help with lowering cholesterol and for heart health due to high polyphenols. I'm all for it...a daily tablespoon or two will do ya! If you're a bit more adventurous you can go with the other high polyphenol EVOO of Spanish olives called Hojiblanca. Plenty of options of vinegars and olive oils to sample before you buy. Bought the 18yr old aged balsamic which elevates any dressing and your friend's will comment "how come mine doesn't taste like yours" (evil laugh!) ...quality ingredients make a difference! Staff helpful and will provide ideas for pairings with food and educate on the wonderful selection of products. Store shelves were not fully stocked (when I visited in Jan) but you can ask and a bottle will be filled in the back. Plenty of street parking and towards the end of First Street. I really like this place. Both owners are knowledgeable and pleasant. Their patience with me as I ask stupid questions about olive oil and vinegars. I like what I like but have no real knowledge. Located on First street in Benicia, we decided to stop by during our stroll of the farmers market. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. They made us feel welcomed and offered some tastings of their olive oils and vinegars. We ended up leaving with a bottle of the Rosamarina olive oil and D' Anjou pear vinegar. I cannot wait to try them in my salads at home and paired with bread! We love Sepay Groves olive oil! Our go-to oil has been the Frantoio but we have discovered other oils that have a more earthy taste and are higher in polypheonols so we have been buying those as well. Their flavored vinegar is also fantastic. My favorites are the raspberry and black cherry. I'm glad this place is nearby because it's difficult to find good quality OO outside of Italy. read more

We rate the product a 5 and rate the customer service a 1. On a Saturday recently after an excellent lunch at the Mare Island Brewing Co. Tap House in Benicia, we stopped by the Sepay Shop nearby to purchase our 4th and final bottle of White Truffle Olive Oil in about a year. While waiting for the matronly woman to go to the backroom to dispense the order, we started to browse and read the packaging on the soup kits. The women delayed her trip to the backroom so she could lecture us on the hot spices in the soup kit package we were reading. I told her we both liked hot spicy foods and then we started to read the intructions on the jumbolia soup kit and we were interrupted again with a continuation of her spiel about the hot spices. We put down the soup kit and I stated that my French Cajun grandmother used to make jumbolia with hot spices and we we were already used to spicy foods. She turned abruptly and went to the backroom to to dispense the truffle oil for us. When our truffle oil was finally ready we quickly paid in cash left. I love this little shop, the flavored olive oils are nice and strong. I've been coming here for years to stock up and buy gifts. My favorite is the zesty garlic (aka super garlicky), with just the oil on veggies and a bit of salt you're good to go. All kinds of interesting olive oil and vinegar flavors. It's a good gift for sure. If you don't see the olive oil you want out they usually can fill a bottle up for you. They do tastings as well. It's not the cheapest, but well priced for a speciality oil imo. The staff is friendly and attentive. read more

Cool shop with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Very interesting how they have tons of different flavors. I didn't even know balsamic vinegar had flavors, but apparently they do. We were greeted by a lady who gave a brief explanation of their olive oils. She also provide samples of whatever you want. We tried a few different ones, and decided on the Zesty Garlic olive oil, and the Pear balsamic vinegar. I thought the Pear in particular was amazing, definitely try that one out. We had a great 1st visit doing some Christmas shopping here. The owners were very kind and sweet, we were their last customer of the say, it was closing time and they patiently and attentively served us even past their closing time. THANK YOU! We sampled lots of their olive oil and balsamic. Personally, I prefer the EVOO vs the flavor infused ones and their products are certainly of good quality products. Their olive oil is very rich and earthy! Among the 4 types we sampled, my favorite was the Arbosana. It seems it was their best seller since they only had a couple bottle left. We sampled quite a bit of their balsamic too...to be honest, all of them that we sampled were really really good! It was hard to choose! We bought several bottles of the prickly pear balsamic because we thought it was not only delicious but also unique. They told us that they would ship for a flat rate of 13.95!!! Wow! That's a great deal! Although it means you won't be able to sample! It's good to know that this store exists here, not too far from where we live, we will certainly go back to visit for more shopping and gifting needs! read more

Received a siracha mango vinegar as a gift and I've been obsessed ever since! Ran out of it in the middle of the pandemic but I was able to order online and delivery was super speedy. My tastebuds are happy again! In the process of ordering my favorite vinegar, I noticed an array at flavored olive oils and vinegars-- each of which id love to try. I haven't been to the store but based on their photos it looks like they do tastings. I walked into the shop expecting to browse through the selection of olive oils & vinegars--but I walked out with a lot of new knowledge, a handful of recipe ideas and a bottle of jalapeño-garlic olive oil and prickly pear vinegar. The jalapeño-garlic olive oil is sooo good! I used it to sauté some vegetables last night and it took the veggies to another level. It is so hard to pick what to buy in this little shop because everything is so good. Flavors are clean and pronounced. And everyone there is so knowledgeable and friendly. We've been customers for years, and the new location is great. As for the oils, I have yet to find better in the bay area. Rich, fragrant with a peppery after taste that makes this oil perfect on salads or over warm sourdough with just a sprinkle of salt. This is what olive oil is supposed to taste like. It's well worth the trip, and if you only now Benicia from the freeway signs, you owe yourself a visit. read more

Whilst looking for the Jelly Belly factory, the sign advertising "free olive oil tasting" called out to us. We couldn't help but make a detour for the free bread and 30 different blends of olive oil and vinegar. The proprietor really knows her olive oil, but she came off a little strong the minute she summed up our ages. She stated that my friends and I are in the generation that live and thrive off trans fat and over processed food and we needed the most help, given we did have fast food that morning, but not everyday I swear! She was very informative and taught us why and what kind of olive oil we should buy. I got bored of the repetitiveness half way through and asked to move on to the vinegar, only to be yelled at for not caring. After that, she pretty much ignored me until I decided to purchase the big bottle of olive oil with spices and herbs (the best one there! and oh so yummy!) She's quite friendly though, she offered to help us with any questions or recipes through email. I would come back here to purchase more since she has convinced me steer clear of olive oil sold at grocery store as they are mostly past their shelf life and does not have any health benefits after that. read more

Like everyone else, we got sucked in after visiting the Jelly Belly factory. We arrived right before closing, so we were the only customers there. We got to taste some tasty oils and vinegars. Not only did we buy some olive oil, but we also bought some cool olive oil bottles too. (I haven't done anything with them yet, but they just looked so cool in the store.) Some of my favorites were the lemon and orange oils. The woman who worked there was very kind and knowledgeable. Stopped here when we saw a sign for free olive oil tasting on our way to buy some jelly beans. We listened to the guy behind the counter, who pretty much didn't stop telling us about the health benefits of certain types of olive oils and the risks of buying oil other places because of a non-regulated industry. He had a lot of information - we ended up buying a bottle as a gift that had the highest saturation of what he said was the healthy stuff :) They even wrapped it up real nicely (pictured). We were told if an olive oil is good for you, it may lower your cholesterol and help you lose weight. He didn't have to tell us any of that though and we would've still bought the bottle. I was impressed that the oils Sepay Groves carries are obtained directly from the grower and not from a distributor.
