Stopped by Seoul Korean Kitchen the other day to try their Jjajangmyeon and kimchi jjigae. Banchan 3.5/5: The kimchi was pretty standard, similar to what you would get from a decent brand at H mart. The bean sprouts were a bit salty. Chili cucumber was well seasoned and refreshing, and the sliced fish cake was the highlight with a slight sweet and sesame oil flavor. Each dish supposedly comes with a banchan, but if you eat with another person, then you get 1 set of banchan only with 1 refill and additional refills cost $2.50 which was different from most cities I have been to with a more established asian food scene (Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, etc). jjajangmyeon 4/5: The jjajangmyeon had decent portions. The noodles were really nice and chewy, and the sauce on top had a slight sweetness to it that made it different from the chinese jiajiang mian I normally eat. There were plenty of zucchini and onion pieces, and the pork was tender and just a bit fatty which I enjoyed. Highlight of the meal. Kimchi Jjigae 3/5: The kimchi jjigae comes with kimchi, tofu, and pork pieces in a stew and a side of rice. The stew itself comes out piping hot but is almost 90% kimchi and minimal tofu and pork. Very few pieces of tofu and pork, unlike the jjajangmyeon which had more generous amounts of pork. The rice bowl it comes with is quite small. We ran out well before the kimchi stew was completed, and they charge $2 for rice refills. Overall, the food was decent and service is solid. Pricing was slightly steep with a bowl of jjajangmyeon (noodles with stir fry pork sauce overlying) running at $19 and a bowl of mostly kimchi and a few pieces of tofu/pork pieces costing $17. Their banchan/rice refill policy is questionable, but the food scratches the itch in a city with a smaller Korean population and minimal competition. read more

We walked in at 8:15pm on a Friday. Ms. Jennifer greeted us with a lovely smile and told us that last order goes in at 8:20pm. I thought she meant we were late and I apologized asking if we should leave. She immediately put me at ease and said no worries, we would definitely be served, and proceeded to seat us. That right there was amazing! We ordered the pork Mandu for appetizer and beef bulgogi as main dish which came with 4 sides. Both were very well made and enough helping for 2. The owner, Ms. Min came in as we were finishing up and greeted us with a big, warm smile. She came to our table and chatted with us for a few minutes. Very sweet lady. We enjoyed eating there and their hospitality. Will definitely go again. The place was very clean and pleasant. Good for groups too with ample seating. This is by far the very best Korean food in the Augusta area. We went on a Saturday night and there was a short wait for a table followed by another short wait for more rice to cook - so they do a good business! And we got fresh rice despite arriving for a late dinner Our order Banchan: 5/5 fresh (we later learned they were made that same day) and delicious. The cucumber side dish was light and crisp, bean sprouts were perfect, kimchi had the right level of spice and a great flavor. We ate through at least 3 helpings. Dolsot bibimbap: 4.5/5 was NOT skimpy on the vegetables! They used Chinese broccoli instead of spinach and it was really really good. The hot stone pot crisped the rice but was coated with plain vegetable oil rather than sesame oil so it didn't have the nutty flavor I love in the crisp rice. Ddeokbokki; 5/5 great, again the vegetables in this dish were amazing and perfect spice level. They really do a nice job sourcing veggies here, they really sing in all the dishes. Kimchi jjigae: 4/5 this is the one I was most looking forward to but it didn't blow me away. There was a good fermented flavor and a nice level of spice, but the broth had an almost tomatoey flavor like a hot pot base? I couldn't put my finger on it but nonetheless enjoyed this dish. Service: very attentive and the team was so sweet with my kids. Because of my experience with Augusta Korean restaurants and my fear of being disappointed yet again I didn't order my favorite doenjang jjigae. But I will be back, I will order it, and I am pretty confident it will be great. read more

What a friendly and efficient floor staff. The kindness feels genuine. The food was delicious! I was in the area visiting family. We all love Korean food. It's a fave of mine since the 90s when I was introduced by a fellow student, Taewoo Lee. (I'm looking for him!) My fam and I also lived in LA's K-Town years ago, before it got so hip! I promise we've been eating Korean ramen since 2000 long before it got cool. We put people onto it, man! I digress but I have to set up my palate's pedigree. Still some of my favorite short ribs in the CSRA area. Everything I've ever ordered here has always been on point with flavor and aesthetics. And not a bad cost. Stopped in today after my daughter had senior pictures to try Korean food. She's not a picky eater, but I was surprised she was open to trying all the food. The staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant was clean. The food was fresh and delicious! The short ribs were absolutely amazing. The tofu was not our cup of tea but that was due to the actual texture of tofu and nothing to do with the restaurant. We'd never had tofu before and wanted to try it. Now we've tried it! My husband and I stopped here August 10th,2024 for an impromptu date outing. The restaurant is found in a strip mall but the interior still manages to have its own personality. The menu has a good variety of Korean staples and bbq options. The dinner prices are on the high side but they do offer more affordable lunch specials. The banchan served varies daily, when we visited we received cabbage kimchi, cucumbers kimchi, bean sprouts and steamed vegetables. I really would have preferred different options, the lack of anything pickled was noticeable missing from the flavor profiles. Note they have limited hours. From 5 pm - 8:30 pm because of a worker shortage. On a Sunday night, we went for a late-night dinner and I was not disappointed. This has to be one of the best Korean food in Augusta/Evans area, with authentic Korean food you can only get in a big city. Located in a strip mall next to Georgia DMV next door. This location requires a bit of google mapping to find it because it is not on the main road of Washington Road. The decor in the restaurant is reminiscent of many common Korean restaurants with its wooden seats and Korean music playing on the TV. We started out with appetizers consisting of Fried Tofu, Fried Mandu (dumpling), and Beef Dduk-bok-ki. All of this appetizer with a round of Soju and beer. Tofu and Manu were perfectly fried and tasty. The meat in the mandu was moist and flavorful and did not feel store brought with its crispy shell. The tofu dipping spicy dipping sauce liven up the bland tofu. I can't complain since tofu can be bland. The main course I had was the Beef Bibimbap which was offered in hot or cold. I chose the hot. The red sauce that looked like ketchup added to the flavoring of the Bibimbap. Without it, the Bibimbap would have been bland. I wish the rice was burned a bit more on the stone iron bowl, but it is my preference. I recommend this dish, not for the first-time adventurer. read more

Only in Augusta visiting and wanted to try some different than what I always try when I visit. I ordered to go, I was soooo happy I found this place! I absolutely loved my dish! I ordered the stir fry seafood udon. It's was so delicious. The food was so flavorful and the seafood was I'm definitely a returning customer now. Five stars: Experience with staff- The entire staff is wonderful. We were never looking for our waiter/waitress for very long. We never felt like we couldn't ask for more of banchan, which are a variety of little plates of appetizers you get before your main meal. They're free and usually vegetables. Similar to having free bread before your meal. Experience with venue-The venue is very clean and well lit. They have tv's so there's usually something playing that your eyes can rest on. The lighting is not intrusive, bright but not directly in the eyes. The place is family friendly, great for a casual date, or a great meet up for friends. The menu has Korean named meals with explanations that Americans can understand. The bathrooms are VERY clean. I regret not checking to see if wheelchairs or other assistive devices could navigate the bathroom space, but the dining hall was navigable. Experience with food-The food is so good!! I enjoy the banchan, especially the potatoes! They're so good and very tender but they're popular so the restaurant had run out by the time my husband and I got there that evening. We got one plate, but they also served kimchi, some kind of fish plate my husband enjoyed, bean sprouts, and cucumbers, all seasoned. We both ordered the chicken bulgogi (not pictured as I forgot to before I devoured it ). Served with white rice. Truly delicious!! Being over two hours away from Atlanta, I figured good korean food was going to be hard to come by... glad I was WRONG. We stopped by for a quick bite after seeing this restaurant on one of our previous outings. We ordered jjajanmyeon and jjampong, both being some of our favorite noodle dishes and they were great! Flavors were on point and everything was fresh and made to order. Service was great, food arrived quickly... We will be back again to explore more of that menu! read more

Cute little restaurant. Most of the tables have the benches for seats. They also have extra seats for waiting. The banchan while the portion looks small was enough for the 4 of us to snack on. We didn't finish it so not sure if they'd refill them like most other Korean restaurants I've been too. We got the ddukbokki appetizer. The rice cakes were soft and chewy and has my favorite...fish cake! I do wish it was a bit more spicy. I tried something different with the seafood udon. The noodles we nice and chewy and the seafood included was a generous amount. My friends seemed pleased with their dishes...they got the champong, tofu jjigae (both seems to be the same broth). The champong is with noodles while the tofu jjigae comes with a bowl of rice. The other friend got the rice with beef bulgogi. Next time I'll have to try the LA galbi (my usual order at a Korean restaurant) or the ramyeon. read more

The tea was excruciatingly sweet had to order half a glass of unsweet and mix. (husband) got chicken Bulgogi and I got the Korean short ribs. The ribs were tough and fatty and flavorless. The chicken was a little better also ordered the steamed potstickers which was the highlight of the meal which isn't saying a whole lot. The traditional pickled starters were delivered to the table quickly (cucumbers, kimchi, fish cakes, and bean sprouts). All were yum. We ordered fried tofu for an appetizer. Update: came back for a dinner pork bulgogi. It's so expensive! I thought it'd easily feed two adults given how the lunch portion was, but I'm thoroughly disappointed. $17 at that. Can't say we'll be back. haven't had Korean food in a while (like 2 years?) I've seen a few places I've wanted to try, but the location of them never really was ideal. We were out in Evans yesterday and I knew it was my time to try some. We ordered togo as we were running some errands and food was prepared insanely fast! We come in to pay, and everything went smoothly. The only downside is that if you can't use chopsticks, you may be in a pickle! I'm not too bad at it myself, and in a way, it stopped me from inhaling the food in record time haha. I got the lunch special rice bowl with pork bulgogi. YOU HAVE TO GET IT. It was slightly spicy to me, but I thought it was delicious as I love spicy food. The rice was sticky enough that it was very easy to pick up with using the chopsticks. I'm honestly not a fan of kimchi, but it wasn't over powering to me like I've found at other restaurants. I'm not sure exactly what the potatoes were called but I really enjoyed it! Soft, cooked through, and flavored well. It reminded me of a Filipino dish my mom always makes at home. Overall, I'd definitely come back. There's a few other options I have my eye on! read more

We ordered Korean potstickers (steamed- even though I preferred fried). Manduk dumplings served with basic soy. Oh, and I liked that NO condiment bottles on table that other people have touched. Hello, Covid19 era people.... Just ask for whatever condiment you think you need. Also order dohl soht bi him bap! Nice hot bowl filled with rice , beef and veggies. Stir up and let sit to crisp up rice on hot bowl bottom. Also orders Chop Chae (yam noodles). Beef with veggies. Delicious spongy noodles. Refillable ban Chan available. (Nice variety... and tonight noticed their Kim chew was fishy- that was unique for my taste and I liked!) Don't forget to ask for gochujang (I call Korean ketchup) onside. They have mild and spicier ! The Plum SoJU alcohol served in an aluminum teapot was unique sand then when we didn't finish, server offers to pour back into the bottle and save for us until we returned again!!! That's a unique way to get us to come back...we just stayed a little longer and Finished off the shot drink soju! My "occidental " friend who has never experienced Korean food thought the flavors, textures of food and presentation were very good. I'm a fan if I'm ever out this way in Evans again. Tried this place out based on recommendations from other people. It's decent Korean food for Augusta. Probably one of the best in the area. Food was authentic and my soup came out simmering hot. Was a little disappointed with the banchan (side dishes) as they give very little though we had a group and didn't come back to refill them. Maybe they were just really busy that night too. I will happily drive 30+ minutes to eat here! My boyfriend is probably bitter sweet about us finding this place. Bitter because I want to eat here all the time, and sweet because it's worth it. The sides of kimchi were amazing. The fish cake looked off putting (I'm not as familiar with Korean food as I'd like to be) but it was my favorite of the four!
