Probably the most Korean esthetic place in Augusta. It tastes pretty close to home being similar to Korea. I had the Cold noodle, Marinaded rib and Korean Pancake with seafood. The Korean pancake is very good. The biggest issue is the lack of staff as when more people were coming in it took forever to leave and pay for our food. The staff at Emashiya were so sweet sitting us 20 minutes before closing and continuing to bring extra banchan even as they were closing. After our favorite Korean place stopped seating early we decided to give Emashiya a try The food hit the spot, I had kimchi jjigae and my husband got the soondubu, we shared a salad and has seconds on all the banchan. The jjigaes were huge! The portions are extremely generous. The food reminded me of what you'd get late night in a family restaurant in Korea, nothing fancy but very satisfying. I ordered the kimchi jjigae with no pork and was hoping for extra tofu but the tofu was a little on the skimpy side, but the kimchi was abundant and flavorful which is what matters most. The broth had a faint tomato hot pot flavor - which I've noticed at multiple area Korean restaurants. Banchan was good and a balanced mix of dishes too. The cucumber and the bean sprouts were my favorite, my kids devoured the potato strips. Service was great and I loved was that they brought us barley tea in an IHOP style carafe We went home happy and full. I took part of my kimchi jjigae home (because it was way to big to finish on one sitting) and the day 2 flavor after reheating was even better than the first time around. Overall a perfectly average place to get Korean food. The side dishes (banchan) are good, well marinated and seasoned. I got the regular soon dubu soup, not seafood. The flavor of the soup was pretty lacking. I actually had to put more gochujang (Korean hot pepper sauce) into the soup to make it more flavorful and spicy. Pretty disappointing, but I guess that's what I get for ordering soup at a bbq place. Service was slow, but that might be attributed to our large party of 8. We were seated at a long table with barriers that allowed us to have a sense of privacy, which is really nice. Made me feel like we were the only ones at the restaurant. They also gave us 2 pitchers of water to refill ourselves so that we wouldn't have to wait on them to refill every time we wanted it, which was nice and thoughtful of them to do. I think the karaoke offering is a cool concept that I haven't seen in the Augusta area before. Pleasantly surprised to see it, but we didn't try it. Maybe I'll come back just for that. Absolutely delicious! I usually get the bulgogi bento box and it never disappoints. Also love the little appetizer dishes that they bring out. It's never a problem if you want more of any of them. The servers are very attentive and are quick to answer any questions. If I were to have one negative it would be that it is usually freezing in there. Be sure to dress accordingly. I'd give this place a 3.75/5. They are still doing take-out/delivery right now. I ordered three appetizers and a main entree and waited 20 minutes for it to be ready when I got there. I was shocked on how they packaged everything. They even packed the banchans in a nicely divided up container. The seafood pancake was huge! I split it up into 3-4 meals. The banchans were solid overall. The kimchi was very sour but I've never been quite sold on kimchi by itself. I'd definitely get the kimbap again. I'd hold off on the bibimbap. I've had elsewhere better in Augusta (Golden Garden). I was hoping the dukbokki was a little spicier. I'd say they have a bigger selection than Golden Garden, but in terms of quality, I'd probably choose Golden Garden. read more

Holy cow... $32 for myself for an order to go? That's a bit crazy. They did pack a nice box full of all the sides... but the amount of meat for $32 is tiny. The food is an overall solid choice with good entrees and side dishes that are usually a part of korean dining. The wings were puny but flavors were there. The sign at the restaurant says "Korean BBQ" so look for that instead if Emashiya. The interior is a bit dated for those who care. The weakest part has been the food wait times unfortunately. The servers have been fine so hopefully the kitchen can step it up a little as 40 minutes for 3 dishes is rough. Would come back but I'd try other Korean restaurants before coming back. read more

My family went there on a Sunday night wanting some bulgogi. When we entered there was no one there. The only person in the restaurant was the hostess(?). She informed us that there was no availability because they "were expecting a big party". We asked if we could leave our number but were told they were "super busy" and couldn't call. We could tell we weren't wanted and left. We went and ate a funnel cake at the very welcoming Funnel Cake Lounge. We then went back to the Zaxby's next to this restaurant and the parking lot was still empty! So much for being busy. Why we we treated like this? Not sure. Maybe because we are a mixed race family? This little random little spot was actually pretty delicious. The name listed here, matches what's on the building but not on the sign you see from the road. That was a little odd, but I knew we were looking for a Korean bbq spot so the sign said that much. Instead it's a little plain but don't let that fool you. We ordered To go and in just about 15 minutes it was ready. We ordered beef bimbop with sauce and one with out. With sauce was a little juicer but the one without was delicious as well. It came with a lot of sides, which have been typical for me going to other Korean bbq. I won't lie, I wasn't a fan of any of them, and I usually like at least 3-4 of them. You get about 7 per meal. My parents and I had a great experience at the Emashiya Korean BBQ. This restaurant has so much to offer. The restaurant is very dimmed, yet opened. The décor is very simple. We walk through the spacious dining room and next door, you'll find Emashiya's private karaoke rooms (highly recommend reservations ). The smaller rooms host parties for four to eight people. The large room with a long table holds a capacity up to 25+ and has a pool table. We walked in and was seated right away. Our server was patient with our questions, but had to grab a manager for other inquiries on the menu. She was very friendly and helpful. We ordered: Bulgogi-Korean Grilled marinated beef Samgyeopsal- Grilled marinated pork belly (with a flavorful spicy kick) Chap Chae- Korean Noodles with Beef and Vegetables Korean Shrimp Rice For drinks we got waters, however I wanted a shot of Soju which is a korean vodka. So smooth!!! We got our meals and with that you hot steamed white rice and also six banchan (small portions) which are dishes of pickled cucumber, bean sprouts, spicy daikon (radish), a cold potato salad, kimchi (a fermented cabbage and vegetable slaw, which can be very hot; Emashiya's was only mildly spicy to my taste, but was the spiciest of the banchan) and a type of tangy and sweet vegetable root, and tiny salty fish and other unusual vegetables. My favorite out of all of them was the bean sprouts, potato salad and kimchi. I had to ask for seconds. All were super delicious which had great taste (not bland) and hot/fresh. The spices were down to a T!!! I have to rave about the Samgyeopsal! Pork Belly was super amazing (spicy)! My parents really enjoyed their meals. Their favorites was the Chap Chae. There was a button on your table which you ring if you need any extra banchan portions or anything else. We received good service! I highly recommend coming here! Pricing is reasonable. Don't bother ordering takeout, you will wait an obnoxious amount of time due to them only having 1 cook, even when the dining room wasn't busy. When we called and placed the order, we were told it would be an hour wait, and we were fine with it. Came in an hour later, we asked how much longer our food would be, and were told it would be another 30 minutes. Hostess tried saying that we agreed to waiting an hour and a half on the phone, but we did not. Even after waiting the hour and a half that we apparently agreed to, it STILL was not ready. Luckily, they brought it out before we had to ask for a refund, but guess what, our food was wrong! Go somewhere else if you are really hungry. The food is good, but we will not be back. read more

First, the atmosphere there is very clean and simple with a traditional Korean style. There aren't many people in there thus it's good for privacy and chatting. Second, the staff there is nice too! She always smiles when we call her, to me, staff worth 40% of the total score, and this restaurant did pretty good on that. Last but not least, the cuisine's tastes. Had a craving for Korean food, so decided to try this place out. The food was pretty mediocre compared to Korean food I have had in other cities. The prices were about average but kind of pricey for some items listed. They are not doing dine in currently, so we got our food to-go. The amount side dishes you receive is very nice! The seasoning on the radish and cucumber kimchi was very spicy. The potatoes didn't really taste like much and the kimchi itself was okay. The stir fried squid had a generous portion. It wasn't too spicy. Everything was a bit Overcooked and was mushy but that could've been bc I took it to go. The bibimbap was very disappointing. As other reviews have mentioned, decor is bare, but I actually think it works for the restaurant. They have a small fountain in the front of the restaurant and bamboo all over. If you're hoping for a romantic spot with beautiful interior for a date, then this wouldn't be my first choice. Otherwise, everything seems clean and in order. Service || I'm still sitting here waiting for my food to go order. Service is slow to say the least. It's been 42 minutes and counting and they told me over the phone that it would be 15-20 minutes. There's only two tables in the whole restaurant. I see photos of the menu posted from 12/2017, well the prices have gone up. I've included photos of their new menu prices. I waited a total of 42 minutes for my to go order of two items. Did they not start cooking it until I got there? If so, I was there in 15 minutes and physically sat in the restaurant and waited for another 25+ minutes. There was no apology for the wait or any sort of acknowledgement besides telling me that my order was still cooking. There's still only two tables. I'm not even sure I need to review the food because the beginning of my experience was already negative. I'm back to review the food. Food || I ordered a yukgaejang $13.95 and jjamppong $14.95. Fiancé said that the jjamppong was alright and did not elaborate on it. He said my yukgaejang tasted like water. I've had plenty of yukgaejang in my life and also tried to make it. Yukgaejang usually comes with shredded beef, green onions, gosari (sometimes), and some vermicelli. This yukgaejang was thankfully not sweet (like Happy House). It had gosari, some green onion, some shredded beef, and cabbage? It's filled with cabbage and no vermicelli insight. It doesn't need to include vermicelli, but I just thought it was odd since this is my first time seeing a half my yukgaejang being cabbage. Soup was a bit bland, but had a strong gosari taste. The rice that came with my soup wasn't cooked very well either. It was hard and dry. I went with korean food because I find Asian food comforting and still try to eat it when I'm outside of Atlanta. I may still come back and try something else, but with the cost and taste, I'm thinking I'll just wait until I go back to Atlanta. My review will continue to stay at one star because I do not believe the food was good enough to redeem the service and wait I had. read more

I came here with several of my colleagues from Korea. They were looking to have their fix of Korean food as most visitors from Korea crave. We stumbled upon this Korean restaurant which was close to our hotel, open fairly late (10pm is pretty late for the area where most places close at 9pm) and had good reviews on here. The menu looked very authentic and the decor matched my expectations of a Korean bbq restaurant. We ordered a good range of dishes from Kim chi jji gae to Dwe Ji bulgogi. The food came out and smelled good but you can totally tell that it was Americanized. The food was delicious and if I've never been to a Korean restaurant before, my craving would have been satisfied. If you're looking for a more authentic Korean restaurant, you may want to search for another place. If you are in the area, which we are since it's only a 5 min drive from our hotel, I'm satisfied to frequent this place again read more

I was reluctant to return here after being underwhelmed over the years. Today was so much better. If I had written a review prior to this day, I would've given them 2 or 3 stars. Service here has always been wishy washy. I've had unpleasant hosts/hostesses, super nice servers or completely oblivious servers. Sometimes things would go well, and other times, service would be so slow that it'd have you regretting you even came at all. Today I was pleased. The server was sweet and attentive and my meal was great. It must've also helped that it was 4 pm and I was the only guest in the restaurant aside from people with pick-up orders. One thing I do have to credit this restaurant for is how well they marinate and season their meat i.e. chicken wings, short ribs, etc. it's so good. Aside from my go to which is the galbi short rib box, I ordered the spicy fish soup. I don't normally eat fish soup but I have to say that I enjoyed the flavors in it. It was full of umami. The fish itself was... clearly frozen beforehand and had a weird texture. The banchan was also good but that's not always the case here. Today was just a good day. Delicious! We came in on a weekend about 1.5 hours before they closed and were seated quickly. There were about 3 other tables taken. The decor was simple and clean and I really liked the bamboo in the "booth area" which made our dinner more private. We brought two boxes, mine was beef and my husband's was spicy pork. Both came out in a little less than 15 minutes. We did wait about 5-10 minutes to get our water but the service was great otherwise. I was able to get additional chicken wings instead of the soy dumplings, which made me very happy! Also, my favorites out of the 5 complimentary side dishes was the kimchi and cucumber---- both so good! We will definitely be coming back for a visit when we are in town! read more
