This is only the second soondae restaurant I've visited in the U.S., but my Korean…read moresister-in-law--who lived in Korea for more than 25 years and has eaten at many soondae restaurants--was genuinely impressed. That's a pretty strong endorsement. Also the interior of the restaurant was fairly modern and clean. For anyone unfamiliar with it, soondae (순대) is a traditional Korean blood sausage made by stuffing pork or beef intestines with a mixture of blood, glass noodles, rice or starch, and seasonings. It's one of Korea's most popular street foods and is typically enjoyed with salt or a dipping sauce. One thing to know before you go: this restaurant specializes in soup-based dishes. Every entrée revolves around soup, including the bulgogi. I had never seen bulgogi served in a broth before, so it was a pleasant surprise for both my boyfriend and me. Most of the soups also included clear glass noodles and came in a wide variety of combinations, so there were plenty of options to choose from. One detail I really appreciated was their takeout packaging. If you have leftovers, they use a professional heat-sealing machine that applies a thin plastic seal over the container before the lid goes on. It's a thoughtful touch that keeps the soup leak-proof and makes transporting leftovers much easier. If you're craving authentic Korean comfort food--especially soondae soup--this place is definitely worth a visit.

I thought I would be too much of a wuss for it, but if I could go back I would order all of them that flavor. The kimchi fries were stellar as well- they had kimchi, jalapeño, queso fresco, bulgogi sauce and beef on them, and they were so flavorful. The portion was huge too- it would have been a good appetizer for 4-6 people, rather than to split between the two of us. I wish they offered a half portion. The only thing we weren't a fan of were their cocktails- the flavor was good but they tasted weak. We tried the Seoul Sunset and the Forbidden Fruit, and the Forbidden fruit was definitely better. Get a beer or wine instead. They do have happy hour on Friday and Saturday. Service was friendly and quick, if not super talkative. The ambiance was fun, upscale city with neon colors and brick. Highly highly recommend if you're looking for good food at a mid level price.

This was such a fun surprise! I always go to Sushi Katsu next door and never had a chance to try…read morethis place, but was i missing out! The food here is delicious! Specifically the kimchi pancake, which was crispy and so savory! It's one of the best I've ever had! Their skewers were marinated in a delicous salty sauce and the little mechanism at the table that rotates and grills them for you is genius. Having fresh grilled skewers tableside is next level. Koreans really know how to enjoy eating their food! We also got the wings, which were good but not the best on Havana street, but there is stiff competition there. The mussel soup though was a surprise. The mussels tasted clean and fresh and the broth was light with a spicy kick and super refreshing. Gonna come back just for that when it gets cold! Overall the service was decent. They were nice enough to my crazy crew. The ambience is really fun and chill and would be a great late night hangout or hangover destination. Definitely coming back to try some more!

After I was sad I noticed they had a iPad so I can look through their menu options, the only thing was the iPad didn't provide me with any descriptions of what the menu options entailed. I had to pretty much figure it out for myself. There was no one around to ask, everyone was in the back so after sitting around for awhile, I deleted the items I was unsure of and stuck with what I was sure I wanted. The steamed egg was cooked amazing and the kimchi pancake was almost perfect. The taste was great but the center was a little softer than I liked. The edges were perfect. I finished my food and waited yet again for my server only to be told I had to come to the front counter to checkout. The guy was friendly I just wish they had these instructions written down so people would know. Since this was my first time I was a lost lamb. I will say however, it was happy hour so I got 10% off everything I ordered so that was nice. I can't say for sure if I'd come back. The food was okay the service definitely lacked, while they were nice they were MIA quite a bit.

However, I was very pleasantly surprised at the ambiance, the food, the drinks, and the warmth of the owner! We walked in Thursday night at 11pm. It was one of the only Asian restaurants in the area still open after our flight landed. As expected, the customers were sparse save for 2-3 tables of diners. The interior was immediately green flags - l loved the decor and wood tones. It felt like I was in Korea! The menu is your typical pocha fare - soups, Korean pancakes, army stew, KBBQ meats. We ordered the jalapeño soy chicken wings, volcano pork, and the kimchi fried rice. My favorite was the chicken wings, really crunchy with good flavor and the wings were decently sized. The volcano pork came over a fire burner and cooked at our table. It was definitely pretty spicy but paired really well with the kimchi fried rice, which I thought could be spicier. The pork quality was ok but I really liked the flavors and the bean sprouts in the pot. I particularly love that K Pocha has zero sugar soju on the menu no sugar = no hangovers!) I always drink the brand with the fox on it and squeeze a bit of lemon into the shot. We were served by the owner and the service was efficient. He didn't seem to speak the best English so we had to have one of our friends translate when we asked questions, but he was really nice and welcoming. K Pocha seems to be pretty new, so I will hopefully be back soon to support his business! I definitely want to try the army stew and the tofu soups.

We sat at a semi private table and we were immediately given a pitcher of ice cold water. I was very excited to try the tofu here! We ordered the tofu karaage which was deliciously crunchy and came with a really good sweet sauce. Next came out the banchan which were plentiful (see pic). I was starting to get pretty full at this point! I ordered the tofu kimchi stir fry with pork and it was really good and just the right level of spice. The portion was HUGE. I brought half home. It also came with the choice of white or purple rice. My husband got bibimbap and it came out piping out. He cleared the plate. Service was incredibly quick and friendly. I definitely enjoyed my tofu stew, the tofu was so silky I almost bought some to take home (but couldn't because it needed refrigeration and we weren't heading home right away on that hot day) I also absolutely adored the potato pancake, something I've never had and thought the flavor and texture is so much better than the seafood pancake usually eaten at K-bbq. Gotta love the starch!! Friends ordered grilled meats and I snuck a tiny bit to taste (since I can't handle their level of spiciness! ) they were delicious. The grilled meats and potato pancake go surprisingly well with the purple rice which might have ended up being my most favorite side dish! The grilled fish was ok. I've had better. But all the little appetizing dishes accustomed to Korean cuisine were fantastic! Will definitely come back!
