They are dependable but just charged me $480 to replace a capacitor. I don't think a capacitor is more than $50.

2 days. 4 plumbers. 3 of the 4 were filthy. Problem still not fixed. Won't rerun calls. Promised 24 hour follow up and none. Too $1400 and just vanished. Don't use them. read more

Very professional and courteous. I will recommend to anyone needing HVAC or plumbing. read more

I had trouble attempting to repair a leak in a toilet. One problem led to another, so after several unsuccessful attempts I finally called for a plumber. Since Sentry has services my A/C and heating, and they have a plumbing unit, I called Sentry. A plumber came to my home, examined the situation, and he gave me a price to fix the problem. Though pricey, I agreed. After about 90 minutes the plumber told me "bad news." Since the time was after 5:00pm the plumber said his supply stores are closed. Then, if he comes back the next day there would be an addition service charges plus parts. I said, "no." The plumber sent me a picture of a gasket and its dimensions. That's all he did. The next morning I called the Sentry office reporting to them that I am dissatisfied with their service because my toilet problem was not repaired by the Sentry plumber. The person with whom I talked with argued with me saying that they do not warrant equipment provided by the customer. This was a diversion and did not address my problem - the problem I asked Sentry to fix. This situation now ends my multi-year relationship with Sentry. Caveat Emptor. read more

I had Sentury upgrade electrical power supply and add a new sub panel. They worked all day and into night to minimize downtime. Team was very good to work with and would definitely recommend them. read more

I have been doing business with Sentry for over 20 years, they will take good care of you and your property.

They arrived on time and completed the work in a reasonable time. Had concerns on the repair the next day and they arrived to make sure the repairs were done properly. And all was great. I use them for all my a/c needs period. read more

Worst customer experience ever and the rudest company I have ever dealt with and I own various properties and have had all type of work done on them. And I believe they will overcharge you in a heartbeat. If you need any work done on your honest I would recommend you stay as far away from this company as possible. Then when I wanted to get a second opinion on the work Sentry had a representative call me to say I owed them money and she had the recorded conversation to prove it but she couldn't play the audio so that may be a lie. She was very rude and then hung up right in my face. I left a complaint on their fb page but off course they did not contact me back. I told this to one of my co-workers and he told me he had personal knowledge that the company Sentry was RACIST from a previous he dealing he had with him. I do not support a company I feel is very rude and I pray in 2018 that a company like this is not still RACIST!!! I will keep you updated when hopefully they finally contact me back. read more

We have used Sentry service for years. They have always been prompt and professional. I trust them for our heating & A/C needs.

You know what sucks? Is when you walk outside and are suddenly hit with a massive humid heat index of 105*. You know what sucks even more? When the inside of your house has a heat index of 105*. Yup. My AC was sick. It needed a doctor STAT! I called on Thursday after two days of suffering and decided I couldn't take it anymore. I called up Sentry...because their sticker was on the AC.. and I was given two options. I could have someone come in the evening on overtime or I could wait until the next day and someone would be here before 12. I chose the next day, but then called back and changed it to the same day, because I was D-Y-I-N-G. Sooner rather than later, I get a call from someone saying they are on their way to my house to save the day. Then Perry shows up. Perry is a lifesaver. The poor guy was drenched in sweat by the time he was finished. Turns out the AC had a wretched air filter (my fault) and had frozen over. He turned the AC off and ran the fan and said that after 3 hours to turn it back on and see what happens. I cut him a check for $159 and he was on his way home...probably to take a shower. A couple of hours later he even called to tell me it was probably ok to turn it back on. The temp inside my house gradually went down and was back to normal......until the next day. I noticed it started creeping back up. BUT I was leaving for Florida so I decided it would have to wait. Monday morning bright and early I called Perry on his work number and told him the bad news. He told me to turn it off and run the fan, and that he would be over in due time. A few hours later he was at my door. He found nothing wrong with the AC itself, just that the power was not running up to par. He said that Alabama Power had been doing some work and was causing some power surges which might have interfered with the power supply, so he reset the AC internally and boom it started working. Here it is the next day and I am not dead. Perry, you are an AC god. Screw you Alabama Power. I hate you. read more

Choose this company if you want a dishonest crew/company. They destroyed sprinkler lines and didn't tell us about it until we tried to use the sprinkler. The owner was also verbally abusive when we called to tell him about the mistakes his company made. KEEP SCROLLING TO THE MORE HONEST COMPANIES. read more

Give this company two thumbs down!!!! Called them out for a clogged drain line, was told repeatedly that they could not find the problem--then they decided it was the coil and we needed a new AC. They replaced the AC and we still had the same issue as when we originally called them out--clogged drain line. Do not think we truly needed a new AC. Owner was rude. Customer service was poor. read more

The technician who came to tune up our AC units for the upcoming season was very professional and did a great job. He pointed out issues that needed to be addressed, and the pricing for them. We did not do everything that was suggested, but we did have him come back and acid wash the outside units to have better air flow. Since we have American Home Shield warranty, we called them to come and fix the freon leak that the technician found. We have been pleased with the seasonal tune-ups from Sentry. read more

So they never showed up...(despite saying I was the first appointment in the time frame...and then the next appointment...and then the next appointment). When I finally heard from someone, it was 9:45 PM saying he wouldn't make it today (duh!),and they were confused why I was angry. How about being honest earlier in the day when I made and checked in on the appointment??? You see how you feel when you have a shower pouring hot water, and the worst customer service Ithat have experienced in the home improvement/repair industry. Very angry and very disappointed. However, called Roto-Rooter the next day and they were friendly, helpful, affordable, and ON-TIME. I will be leaving a positive review for them. read more

My wife called them on a Sunday to come out and fix our HVAC system. I was out of the country at the time and had no way taking care of the situation. The technician came to the house and after about about 20 min and $159 diagnostic fee told her it was the capacitor on the outside compressor. This capacitor he told her was a very special capacitor so he charged her an additional $360 to replace it. He showed her this in a "price book". Actually it was a very common capacitor which retails for about $40 plus tax. So in about one hour he had charged $520 to replace a $40 capacitor. I understand that they need to make a profit but these people are con-artist. They use this price book to divert any priceing arguements. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!! read more

I think Sentry is great. I have used them for my heating and cooling issues as well as plumbing for years. I have used them on my home, as well as two other family member's homes. They always come when they say they will, they always call before arriving, and their service men are polite, knowledgeable, and professional. The work is first rate and they will return promptly if you have a concern or need a follow up on a repair. I appreciate their explaining what the problem is and they also explain the options available for repair. I noticed someone in a review complained about a diagnostic fee, but that is deducted from the costs of repair if you decide to have work done. That fee or service call fee is standard in the industry. No repair company shows up for free and then leaves! One person posted some outrageous accusations that they heard from a friend of a friend of a friend--absolutely outrageous to post hearsay without any evidence or personal experience. I highly recommend Sentry and have used them for years with no complaints. I also purchased the twice a year checkup they offer on my AC system. This is offered as well for plumbing. I could not be more pleased with Sentry! read more

I was under a semi annual maintenance agreement for a Generac whole house generator. It was never working before the inspections. Replace multiple batteries. Said could not find a oil sensor switch. Burned up 3 starters in Jan 2013 and could not get it started, yet I paid for the service call. Told me I needed a new generator at $20grand. Called another service company, they put the right starter on in 45 minutes, had to replace bad ground strap, cleaned terminals. Works smooth as glass! Perhaps they are better at HVAC work. read more

Overcharged big time! They charged $240 for the installation of a $40 part which required very little skill to install. Basically, it was four plugs. Anyone else would have charged $100 total for this. Felt very taken advantage of and let them know. There response was "that's fine". Would seek anywhere else besides Sentry. read more

I have used Sentry for 3 years now. For service and maintenance. It does not get any better. Always there when they say they are and on time. They are very cordial with the apt setting and very fair in the price for the service they provide. I am a very happy and loyal customer. read more

Sentry is not a company you want to do business with. I got an AC and Furnace replaced by them and during the course of replacing the furnace in my attic they caused a water drain line to leak down into my son's bedroom. He was gone to college and it created mold and mildew in the corner of the bedroom. I climbed into the attic myself and saw where they caused the damage. They sent someone out to check it. Of course it was probably one of the guys who caused the damage and they said it wasn't their fault. Imagine that. They should have sent a manager out to check behind their employees. So, I finally decided to let that go. Nobody's perfect, right? Fast forward a year later, and it is time for one of my prepaid inspections of my unit. They come out inspect it and everything is fine. One day later, the air conditioner that is now 2 years old, and cost me $8,000 has now stopped working. They come back out and said because I have a warranty it is only going to cost me $175 to repair a part on the unit. That was the final straw for me. I told them to leave. I called another company that came out and only charged $60 to repair the part for me without a warranty. If you like paying top of the line money for subpar service then, by all means use this company. read more
