He went out of his way to help with getting the exact thermostat for my needs. The tech who installed my thermostat (sorry, I forgot your name) was just as friendly, understanding and knowledgeable and even set the app up for me at my request. I called them when I needed a plumber asap. The man that arrived was amazing. He exceeded my expectations. Employees are uniformly dressed, in new vehicles. Dispatch is constantly updating customers via text about arrival time. Invoices are shown in IPads and credit cards never leave your sight. In other words they give professional service that uses new technology. Their overhead, training and business plan prevents them from being cheap. I appreciate them from stopping the water from my leaking hot water heater from running down my driveway and the other waste of running water I was suffering. Call them if you find yourself in trouble like I was. You won't regret it! My only complaint is their prices. They didn't get more work from me simply because they aren't cheap! A technician came out to clean my duct leading from my dryer vent to the outside of the home. The price was reasonable. I talked to him extensively about how the dryer wasn't drying properly and he assured me that the duct would be completely cleaned and that he had the tools to confirm. When he left, the dryer still wasn't working properly and he had to come back out to clean the duct again. My time is valuable and I wasn't happy that I had to schedule another appointment for him to come out a second time. read more

OVER PRICED! Had them come out to check wiring on a couple outlets that weren't working. My husband had already paid for their membership thing, so they told us we get a free whole house electric inspection with it and they can do that too. They did it and discovered we needed 2 of our electrical panels replaced. While doing it, the technician pulled a breaker and broke it so we had no power. He could not get it back in place, which was to our main power. We were f-ed. They said $13,000 plus we'd get the 10% discount plus 5% discount for paying cash. The power was out for over 12 hours. Many of those hours were spent waiting on parts. We got the bill and it was almost $14,000 and that was the 10% off, not what we were told and didn't get the other discount and they broke it where we wouldn't have power if it wasn't fixed. They didn't leave until almost midnight and the inspection wasn't ever finished. I felt they were deceptive. The technicians were nice. It felt like they were in over their head. 2 others came out and one left. We were not given options to fix the issue at all. AND we had NO power after calling them out to check on outlets that didn't work! Overly disappointed and feel deeply disrespected and deceived. We were looking forward to working with this company since we just moved into the area and planned to hire them for other work as well. Plus the 2 new electric panels are not labeled. These people came out to fix our air conditioner and told me it was ants in a switch.. I knew down deep at the time this was crap but that's what he said and charged me $379.00. The very next weekend the AC completely quit. I just think they don't know their backside from their elbow.. BUT they certainly know how to charge you. A storm blew a tree down and it landed on the electrical feed to our cabin. We were not there, and discovered the wire on the ground with the electrical meter and outdoor box on the ground. We immediately called Alabama power to shut down service and they recommended OnTime Electrical. They came out and provided an estimate. Which involved more than installing a new electrical box and service up to code. The cabin was built in 1979, so it needed to be brought up to electrical code. OnTime's quote was more than $21,000.00. No way would insurance cover that. We had to find another electrical contractor with more reasonable costs. read more

I'm giving them two stars, only because their technicians were on-time & courteous. Otherwise, it would have been one star. I requested a standard dishwasher installation (I provided the dishwasher & parts). I requested an estimate over the phone but was told that they had to come out to give the estimate. I was denied even a range of estimates. The service fee was $89 (a friend was quoted $59 for the same thing), which I told them I wasn't going to pay, only for them to come out and then not be able to afford the install. They agreed to lower the fee to $39.00. This fee was in addition to the install fee and not waived if the service was performed. When the two men arrived, they pulled out a tablet and told me that their "standard dishwasher install" with provided parts was $461 PLUS the $39 service call, making the total $500.00 for a dishwasher install. This was almost $200 MORE than the dishwasher even cost. They left with my $39.00 and I still don't have my dishwasher installed. I feel completely taken advantage of because they could have given me the quote over the phone and saved them a trip and me $39.00. I will never use them for any service in the future because of this experience. read more

Tech made no effort to source part locally, and seemed unconcerned with delay and lack of AC during a heat advisory. Unfortunately we didn't have a pleasant experience the second time we used them. Maybe it was their tech Andrew. But we were told immediately that we need to get a new unit. Fine...but he forgot to mention we had electrical heat that was still working, that he could easily turn on for us to keep us warm until we decided what to do. Instead it seemed like he was desperately trying to get some money that day. He was also just shifty and kind of lazy in nature. Claimed it would be $137 for him to change our thermostat and that we had a fuse and would need to change it. We said fine we'll do it ourselves. Then claimed if he stayed longer than the hour for inspection we would be charged $127 more on-top of $69 service fee for the second hour. We said please do what you can within an hour to find out if we can get the heat back on for a few days. He said he couldn't do anything for us and said it was the thermostat. When the thermostat wasn't the problem (we changed it) the company was nice enough to send him back but he again told us we just needed to change the unit and there was nothing he could do to get it working. He then proceeded to tell us he needed to know by the end of the day if we go with them. 6,000 dollars is a lot of money to be felt pressured into investing by the end of the day. He then called us to ask about our decision. We said no. I honestly felt like we were being bullied into going with them. After calling some contacts we found a great guy who had better prices. Message me I'll give you his name. He was appalled and said something fishy happened in our attic. He said whoever worked up there left it a mess and he couldn't believe any company would fail to tell their client they had an electrical way of having heat until they decided to change it. The person on the phone assured me that they would be able to repair the fan or replace it on the spot. That is the only reason I paid the $69 service fee upfront. Well, of course he didn't have the part on his truck but he promised that I would hear from them no later than Monday. By Thursday of the next week, I had to call them and again they had no response. The technician had to install the strainer basket, waste pipe, p-trap. For this "labor intensive" job he quoted $965. The next task was install an already purchased dish washer. To include a dishwasher tail piece for drainage, water hook up, electric hook up, and testing. Quote: $475. For a grand total of $1529 for a plumbing 101 job. He said "inflation" due to "parts from China." What's worse is he didn't even hook up the hot water part of the sink for fear if he broke the valve that water would leak. He told us to call a plumber to finish the job or get the customer's son in law to to do it. Ontime had replaced the same valve 27 months ago and the warranty expired at 24 months. When I asked why the steep price increase, $1400 two years ago, he states the part was $1000, then it was 1100, and then $1300. I looked online and same part is $345. We had an annual whole home service contract with them, so the would semi annually check our HVAC, plumbing and electrical. Problem was when they would find something or when we called them with an issue, they would always give these astronomically HIGH Quotes. I.e repair cooling leak on inside, downstairs air handler = $3700+, we got it repaired with other licenses company for $1300 including parts. Next incident, I asked for a quote to install and replace two toilets (I had the new toilets already) = $396 per toilet, so called manager later called and said that quote was discounted from $450!!! I later had both toilets installed for $250 by another company. Bottom line, the annual service check were fine, but if they do find something, they are extremely to expensive to use for the repair. Beware ... Way over inflated prices. First, let me say that the two employees that came to my house were respectful and did a decent job. On Saturday morning I realized my water heater had bit the dust and I was in need of a new one. The part to drain the unit was plastic and had stripped so I was unable to drain the water heater so I was in the position of having to get it replaced ASAP. I spent the weekend with a shop vac to keep the water from entering my kitchen. I had heard of OnTime and decided to give them a try. On monday morning they came to my house and gave me a quote of $2,621 (that was with a senior discount) to replace my unit. I wanted to pay with Discover but he told me there would be a service charge of 3-4% to use a credit card so I felt a bit pressured to use their financing company because I needed the work done. I called to get an itemized quote and that was sent to me while the unit was being installed. This is what they charged: Add on Expansion tank $293 (average at big box $50) Water heater pan (PLASTIC) $193 (average at big box $25) Water heater 6 yr warr. $2,248 (average at big box $550) The install took approximately 2.5 hours (and the water pan was too small). I understand that there is over head for payroll, and company expenses but this is EXTREME! I sent an email expressing my concern and asked if we could discuss lowering some of the amounts. Employee Nicholas Phillips called me and was, in my opinion, very rude and condescending. He talked "at" me, ... "we need to pay for people to answer phones, service, company expenses etc, etc, etc, etc, etc..." I expressed that I just felt that maybe they could do some compromise and he flat out said no and started repeating the company expenses again. We are renovating our bathroom and have the entire area down to the studs and subfloor. I need to move the old bath drain about 12" to accommodate the new shower. There is access to the drain pipe from above and below. Work would consist of $20 in part and 2-3 hours if the plumber is slow. My quote was $900. When I asked why this was extremely high the technician replied that he had to use the costing in his holy book and had no way to deviate for actual conditions. I have had a service agreement with OnTime for over 3 years now. Our upstairs heat was blowing instead of air conditioning so we scheduled out standard service inspection. The individual came out and inspected our 14 year unit and told us our compressor was bad and our only 2 options were to replace the compressor or replace our whole unit. They provided quote to replace compressor and it was $3,200, and they sent another representative out to provide quote to replace entire unit $6,900. Based on their diagnosis, we decided to replace entire unit but we went with another company who provided a better unit with a better warranty. Once the other company installed "new" entire unit, we had the "same" problem where heat was blowing when the air conditioning was on. The other company troubleshooted the "new" unit and the "only" thing not replaced to new was the "thermostat". They changed out the thermostat and the new unit worked perfectly, thus "proving" the "old" unit had "nothing" wrong with the compressor and it was misdiagnosed, and the only problem was the thermostat needed to be replaced. I called OnTime back and expressed my concern that this misdiagnosis caused us to replace an entire unit when it did not need to be replaced at this time. The best scenario using Ontime, we would have still spent $3,200 to replace a compressor that was working fine. The Service manager Scott callee me back and after speaking with the owner decided to advise me that they would pay me $650 for the mistake. They came up with the $650 from stating the cost to replace the thermostat and installation would be $325 and they doubled that cost. I explained that the mistake didn't cost "us" a thermostat, it costed us an entire unit or at best a compressor change which would have been between $3,200 to $7,000 depending on new compressor or new entire unit. I expressed to them that I would regrettably accept the $650. This would cost me more to take them to small claims but this is not the best resolution as I am the one who payed for their mistake. Thank you for accepting the mistake but I will not do service with you all anymore. I don't want to feel this was an opportunity for a technician to try and get money out of a customer when the diagnosis was done incorrectly. The difference here is we did not use Ontime to replace the unit so no money went to Ontime where they probably expected me to use them for the replacement. Improper diagnosis here financially hurt me as a customer and honestly $650 is not comparable to the $3,200 minimum cost to replace the compressor (Ontime's estimate) or $6,900 to replace entire unit (Ontime's estimate) for a bad thermostat which costs $300... I will be calling to cancel my service. read more

I will preface this by saying this is the first time I have used this company. I am more than happy with the service I received today, the technician was prompt, polite, and very professional!!! I work in the service industry as well and going to home appointments can get tricky quick. Today was not one of those days, the tech was so calm and courteous the whole time. I had an issue with the pool outlet that I tried to fix. Well you see how well that went, I had to call on time... well I am glad I did, they are reasonably priced as well. Still thinking on doing the maintenance plan as it can get costly I am sure... well I know that for my electrician work or heating and air I will be calling this company, and for me the wait was only a day for them to come out!! I though this was excessive, so I called OnTime Service, and they QUOTED THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICE OF $18,000 for the installation. I will NEVER call these expensive people again. read more

The day after Brad came out, our lights started flickering and we were worried about a potential fire hazard. Their service was quick. On time arrival. However the guy just replaced the capacitor on my HVAC and it took maybe 10 minutes. And they charged 300$. Way ...way...overpriced. One thing i learned was how to fix a capacitor myself which would cost around 30$. Anyways use your discretion and ask them the price they gonna charge before they start replacing any parts (go get those parts yourself from homedepot or lowes which is 100 times less than what these guys charge). read more
