Beware! This company takes advantage of the elderly!!!! I called them out for an estimate they made a repair without my permission, call to say it was done, could not break down charges and for a $20 part charged a couple hundred dollars over what other companies quoted. when I spoke with the manager he said he was going to check and call me back. I am still waiting and I have called several times. read more

Very professional and great pricing for the work and equipment. Rex was so easy to work with. They explain what needs to be done and the cost is fully understandable. They say that they only do it the right way, after seeing the work and quality of the equipment I completely agree. read more

Thank you for a job well done!! We had our air conditioning and heating units (3) replaced in our home this week. This was a sizable job. The three young men that replaced them - Drew, Jordan and one other fellow did an outstanding job. Replacing three of anything in 100 degree heat in Alabama requires skill and patience. What we received from Ethridge from Rex, Rebecca, Jeff, Drew, Jordan and even the owner's son were customer focus, professionalism and friendly service. It's nice to see professionals that worry less about deadlines and more about customer satisfaction. Thank you again. D.L. Tenorio read more

Not onboard with the positive reviews of this place. To summarize, a capacitor replacement will run you $280. A part that costs $8-$15 retail and I am sure they get it even cheaper wholesale. The work to replace it after diagnosing? 5 minutes. Diagnostic time? About 40 minutes, but only because the technician started looking at the wrong unit at first and trying to troubleshoot that. Would have been much quicker otherwise. Only positive thing is that they diagnosed the problem correctly. Granted, a simple and common problem. I called and complained, was not given any options for a refund of any portion of the cost and only got a sap story about how tough it is to run their business and how low the margins are. I don't believe that for a second. They are charging people an insane amount of money per hour of work and you will be much better off going with their competitors. This company is a complete rip off. At the end of the day, I could care less what this margin is and want a reasonable part cost and hourly bill rate. I was not given that and ultimately could care less about how they run the business and what inefficiencies they may have. If you do simple math and subtract the cost of the part and the diagnostic fee, the rate was $185 to $200 for 5-10 minutes of actual work to replace the capacitor. read more

Same day service. very courteous and very reasonably priced I highly recommend. I called some places and they were not as competitive in pricing and slow service read more

Honored an Expired 1 Year Warranty from 6 Years Ago. Ethridge has installed and serviced units for our home since 2008, and they continue to provide the highest quality service in the industry. Recently, we had a service need on a Trane HVAC unit that Ethridge installed in 2009. Ethridge came to service the unit, and honored an expired 1 year service warranty from 2009. The matter was handled promptly and professionally. My family will continue to recommend and use Ethridge for all of our HVAC needs. read more

Awesome customer service. My air conditioner wasn't working and Andrew (Ethridge serviceman) knew exactly want was wrong with my unit. He immediately informed me that it was stopped up. He blew out the dirt and drained the unit. Also, checked for leaks within the unit and the freon levels. He was very professional, quick and extremely polite. For now on, I will be using Ethridge for all my air and heating problems. Keep up the awesome service. Ya nailed it! read more

While perusing some of my old reviews, I came across one for Ethridge and decided to post an update. Our AC eventually went the way of the dinosaur, so we chose to bite the bullet prior to suffering another summer and just pay for a replacement unit (we'd long given up on using the home warranty company); and due to our previous interaction with them, we decided to go with Ethridge to do the install. A single day's work and the new unit was placed in the attic, the outdoor unit was set up cleanly and professionally on the side of the house, the new electronic thermostat was set up in the house, and everything about the unit was reiterated to us by the techs, leaving us with all of the knowledge we needed to know about it and the work done. Going with Ethridge was once again the absolute best choice we could've made. Now, months later, in the middle of a blistering summer, the unit is humming like a fine-tuned sports car and the house has never felt more comfortable. Again, Ethridge believes in good quality work and delivers without question. Can't recommend them enough. read more

I'm in HVAC also. I was not in state of time of my parents needing a new system. Returned to state a few years later. After hearing of all the problems of the t-stat installation and get them back to fix. After 2nd t-stat. Note I can not touch because of warranty. Still had problems with t-stat. And no phone calls back from owner and others. Plus put a indoor unit that should have never put in for residential. And for a retard couple that is not what they need. To dam pricey for parts. But know I have to fork out the 400 for a right s-tat to make it work correctly. Thanks so much for your great company! NOT. Mr. Gregory Elmore read more

On time, fast service, very friendly, reasonably priced, great work!

Ethridge Air is the model by which all businesses should be run. We had to replace our air conditioner after 17 years and got 4 estimates, including one from our former installer/repair company. Ethridge by far exceeded the other companies in every way. They had competitive pricing and were pleasant, reliable, efficient, the installation was professionally done and the system runs great. The written estimate with options was detailed and precise so there were no hidden surprises. I spoke to the owner several times during the process and he was responsive, interested and provided the information I needed to make a decision. They also had the best price on the 10 year warranty that I wanted and were the only company that offered a way to make interest free payments. They also tried to keep my old system running until the new one could be installed. I was a breath of fresh air to find this company and I highly recommend them. read more

Selling my house, had a 1-3 appointment. While waiting for the tech, I was vaccuming. Didn't hear the phone ring. It was Ethridge calling to see if I was actually home. Ten minutes later, they called back and cancelled the appointment. Realized this about another 10 minutes later, called them back and their phone person was as snippy as could be, but was able to "squeeze" me in hours later that afternoon. Told the tech I wanted the heating and air systems checked as I was selling the house. When he finishes, he tells me that their policy is not to check heating in the summer, or AC in the winter. So I guess they need to change their name to Ethridge Heating OR Air, not AND Air. And even though the AC System at least was operating fine, the tech put the full court press on me to spend $5,000 for a new one because the case of the outside coil was rusted. So I wasted my time, my money, and an afternoon. read more
