Float STL - Midtown is located off Locust Street where there's metered street parking. This was a…read morelate birthday treat for my dad, and he had never been prior to this. My last visit was in 2023 for my birthday. Upon entering, you are met with the soothing smells of a spa. The best way I can describe it is like the smell of a Hilton Hotel hallway. You have to take off your shoes and leave them at the door, so don't be like me and wear flip-flops, because otherwise you will be barefoot on the floor. Our guide was Jesus, who was very peaceful, kind, and explained everything to us. He even was able to give me booties I could wear, although he stated that their floors are very clean. He was barefoot himself. I believe him, but I am super paranoid. Anyway, they had a few additions to the spa since my last visit, such as an infrared sauna, a cold plunge tank, and zero-gravity massage chairs. He gave us a tour of these offerings after we consumed our tea. After we used the restrooms, he gave us a tour of our pods. I felt like Jesus did a wonderful job of explaining to my father how to enter and exit the pod and making sure he had what he needed prior to entering so that he could enjoy his experience. You have to take a shower before you enter and after you exit the pod. Lights and music are optional, as is closing your pod versus leaving it open. There is a bottle of fresh water to spray on your face should salty water get near your eyes. With the salt volume, you shouldn't get salt in your eyes unless you fall asleep in there and turn really fast like you're in bed or in a rotisserie oven. They also provide earplugs to keep the water out and petroleum jelly should you have minor open cuts. The water should only come up to your chin or right below your ear when you're on your back. There is a halo you can rest your head on if you can't trust your head to stay afloat (which it will). They have monthly membership packages should you want to self-care each month as well. After our session, we had another cup of tea and then had some brunch. Let me not forget their powder room has just about anything you could need after such a relaxing experience and their hair conditioner loves my curls! I have always enjoyed my experiences at this location and in Maryland Heights. They have amazing guides and create such a curated experience for their guests.

The staff here is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, caring, and kind. They really want you to have a good experience. They did a great job preparing me for what would happen. I know some people might think this is a bit woo-woo but I recommend having an open mind, and trying it to see how much it helps calm your nervous system. They provide everything you need, including a comfortable cushion, blanket, eye mask, various pillows, and if you don't want to lay on the ground, they do have chairs to sit in as well.

Walking in the space is minimal and clean with spaces for your shoes and belongs. They ask that you don't use your phone and turn it off so the sounds don't disturb people. You select fuzzy blankets, pillows, neck rolls and even eye masks to take into the room where foam Matts and zero gravity chairs are arranged at nice distances along the room. They have gongs and bowls and various percussion instruments and chimes arranged along the far wall. Linda greeted us and Faith also helped play the instruments. We did some breathing exercises and then you simply lay and let the sound wash over you. It was like a group nap time, but it was relaxing and comfortable. I really wasn't sure what to expect, and I was so refreshed. The dedicated time to sit and relax worked for me. I slept better than I had all week. I am less stressed today and I think it was from this. I felt like I took a full mental spa day but it was only an hour! I didn't have to do anything to clean up as they roll in laundry tubs and clean up everything after. I think this will be something I add into my stressful moments of my life and help focus on me this next year. Check it out!

This is the only studio I've practiced at (I've been to 4-5 different places) that feels free of judgment & focuses on inclusion: my practice is about me, not a standard for an asana. If I need to take child's pose for most of the class, or if I need to simply lay on my mat & breathe for the whole class I feel free to serve myself whatever I need in that moment. My practice is more beneficial & more my own because of the approach here. Thank you Kate Bee!

We roll, creep, crawl, kneel, squat, stand on a single leg, step, meditate, breathe and feel in order to be attentive, resilient, intelligent movers, thinkers and collaborators. Group classes are open to all levels! At CYC, we know that practicing yoga is more important than paying for yoga and that in times of stress, financial or otherwise, we need yoga the most. There are no set prices for group classes, rather give what you can. If you have plenty and can share, pay $10-20. If you have just enough, pay $10. If you are in need today, pay less. If you don't have a dollar, you are welcome in class. If your talents and skills are more available than money, gift and barter.
