FLOAT STL Midtown is truly a hidden gem. I have floated at this location four different times now, and I can't say enough great things. When you enter the building, you are asked to remove your shoes and leave them by the door. The ambience is absolutely incredible. The plants, calming music, and seating options in the lobby almost instantly soothe your soul from the moment you enter. Employees are always very friendly and helpful. They are willing to do almost anything you need in order to ensure that you have a positive, memorable experience. Specifically, I vividly remember the impactful encounter I had with Kevin when I floated here for the first time almost two years ago. FLOAT STL is very accommodating and provides nearly everything you could need to have a successful float. I always leave FLOAT STL feeling incredibly refreshed and uplifted. I highly encourage more people to check out this place!

I wish I could come here every. single. day. I have floated 3 times now and am highly considering a monthly membership - I'm hooked!!! I suffer from chronic neck/back pain relating to disc issues - and that is how I found FLOAT. If you are considering checking out FLOAT I highly recommend doing some research beforehand- your first experience can be a little overwhelming as it is such a new concept. The staff at both locations are EXTREMELY helpful and will walk you through the whole process as many time as you need though! The tanks: I have done both the Float Pods (pictures below) and the Float Rooms - I can't choose which I like better as I enjoyed both equally. The Maryland heights location has a little better float "rooms" as they are more spacious and updated - but you get the same effect in both. If you are more claustrophobic I recommend a float room! The experience: you can float for 60 or 90 minutes - with options to keep the lights on / music playing or opt for a true sensory deprivation and enter the pitch black silence, a place I have found so much peace in. After your float you are able to chill and decompress in their comfy area and ordered tea! The space: inviting, tons of plants, peaceful, quiet - you must take your shoes off upon entering the space and please be respectful of the energy they are trying to maintain. Highly recommend everyone checking out FLOAT at least once!

I have been here been here twice now and had overall great experiences. Previous to that, I was curious about doing a float but put off by the cost. My lovely spouse surprised me with a 90 minute float during my first pregnancy (I did the float room) and I recently went again towards the end of my second pregnancy and did a 60 minute float in a pod. Pros: * A really interesting, different experience * Super nice to be on my back, which is typically not allowed after a certain point in pregnancy, especially in the third trimester like I was both times * Great for bowel movements :P honestly I had the best poop of my entire pregnancy after each float haha * Waiting area / hang-out-afterwards area is really relaxing (for me, it was actually more relaxing than the float itself) * Very helpful staff, both on the phone and on site * Discounted price on Wednesday mornings! (which happens to be my day off of work) Cons: * I was never really able to get 100% comfortable, probably because my brain has a hard time shutting off * I had slight anxiety each time about making it out on time before my parking meter expired (especially when I did the 90 minute float) * Neither the pod nor the "tub" option worked super well for me. I liked the size of the pod because it was smaller and fit my height better. However, when the lid was closed, the air I was breathing felt so humid it was hard to breathe but leaving it open exposed my skin to the colder air Anyway, I'm giving them 5 stars because it's a really interesting experience, the customer service is amazing, and the waiting room area is so relaxing (I wish I could just go and hang out there without doing a float). I'm not getting a membership, but if I'm ever pregnant again, I'll definitely book myself another float!

My husband booked us boat floats Valentine's Weekend as per recommendation of his friend. We arrived early, and were promptly greeted by Anna, who just added to the experience. We accepted the offer of tea, and sat in the float prep area until our rooms were ready. Once ready, we were taken back and given a nice overview of the float rooms. I'm thankful that I was allowed to have music playing the entire time during my float, as well as allowed to keep the lights on, and door to the room open. After the float, I showered, and dried my hair - such a nice thing! We sat in the area until we were ready to leave. We were never rushed out/in. Being my first time, I was extra nervous. I am no ready to do a second float! I will def be less anxious the next time around s.

Let me preface this by saying I am deathly afraid of being submerged in water. So you can imagine my anxiety level when I realized I'd be floating in a pod of salted water for 90 minutes. FLOAT is a form of relaxation & stress relief. Your body is submerged in a pod filled with high density salt water for 90 minutes; allowing you to fall into a state of sheer relaxation & peace maybe even sleep. There are a number of benefits related to FLOATS. They have tanks set up in several cities across the country. Packages are available for those wishing to practice on a continual basis. Towels, ear plugs, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hot tea, and shelves to hold your personal items are all supplied during your visit. The staff here is super knowledgeable and pleasant. They thoroughly explain and walk you through the process prior to start and make sure your experience was enjoyable after. I highly recommend researching FLOAT prior to visiting making sure it is suitable for your needs. Be advised booking well in advance is suggested as slots go fast. ~Christy

First time trying something Like this and I was hooked after my first session. Upon entering the facility immediately you notice all the plants and peaceful ambience. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The facilities are very clean and you can tell that they're taking COVID seriously. I chose a pod for my float and was led into the room after a short wait. The room was clean and modern and the instructions were clearly expressed to me as well as written on the wall. The float itself was an amazing experience. It's a neutral buoyancy salt water mixture so you're floating in body temperature water in the dark and with no sounds (both light and sound are customizable It's dark and quiet is not for you). Left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and had a very productive day going forward. Will definitely be returning!

My new favorite (and essential) pampering activity. It is quite the perfect spa environment, the staff are always extremely kind and helpful. The experience of floating itself is (a practice) extremely relaxing, supportive, and beneficial to the mind body experience. Love the membership options, my family also got me a few extra floats for Christmas this year and I am so excited to use them !

This is my third trip to Float STL. I love the relaxation concept of it. I'm a new mom that works a high stress job so I'm looking for anything I can do to relax. I've done the pod option once and the room option twice. I prefer the spacious room option than the idea of the pod. They do a great job starting the relaxation experience as soon as you walk in the door. The lobby is very quiet where you take off your shoes and join a group lounge area where you can prepare for your float or relax again after. They have comfy couches and offer you water or tea that won't create digestive issues during your float. Then they escort you back to the bathrooms and your personal room to start your float. You have a rainwater shower before the float and earplugs to put in. Then you enter the water and listen to music before the lights turn out, the music turns off, and you're left with sensory deprivation. You spend 90 minutes floating effortless and 'trying' to immerse yourself and relax. I have trouble turning my mind off each time but that's not fault of the company. After your float is complete the jets and music gently switch on to wake you up if you're asleep and let you know to get out of the water. You'll return to the rainwater shower and have about 10 minutes to leave your room. I feel this trip was lacking a few touches from my first couple of times. Only providing one towel especially to females with potentially long wet hair is hard to work with. I found myself quickly drying off and using the same wet towel on my hair and taking it out of the room with me to additionally dry my hair since it was cold outside. Also, my room didn't seem as clean this time. I found someone else's ear plugs floating in my water when I got in and their head float piece was just on the floor in the shower area. They should space out their appointments a little longer so you get more time to shower afterwards and the employees have more time to make sure the rooms are really clean.

This was a gift and our first time here. The staff was amazing and made us very comfortable. When you walk in, you leave your shoes at the front door. The soothing smells and sounds contributed to the experience. I would recommend arriving a little early to you give yourself time to decompress. Brandon was amazing and guided us for the best experience. Recommend the pods, although to be fair, with this being our first time, we only utilized the pods. After the float, we sat quietly in one of the zen rooms, with fresh water served. They also offer tea. Being still is so hard to do, but this place provides the peace to do it. I would definitely recommend and we can't wait to return.

Floating is one of the unique experiences you can do in St. Louis. Perfect couples date idea if you are looking for something unusual to do. The staff here are very friendly and very calm. Basically you lie naked inside a specialized pod that contains high levels of salt, so you'll feel almost weightless for 90 minutes. You can turn the lights completely off, and you'll feel like you're floating naked in outer space. Not for everyone, but my wife and I loved it. Definitely a must try, at least once in your life. Pros: Cool experience, relaxing, Very clean, easy online reservation, nice staff Cons: Metered Street Parking can be tricky; it's right beside the Fountain on Locust so you'll be tempted to eat ice cream afterwards (well not really a con) Tip: There are two types of floats - the pod, and the tub. The pod looks cooler, but smaller. The tub is bigger, but looks like a big bathroom shower tub. Parking meters outside accepts credit cards. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT scratch your nose when you are floating! A small droplet of salt water will roll inside your nose and it will sting like crazy (pain will last about a minute, then you should be ok.)

I read about floating on my friends Facebook page and she had nothing to say but great things about it, so of course I had to try it. I searched Yelp and this was the first place I found and it was close! I have to admit I was extremely skeptical that this was just some sort of weird fad. The moment I walked in the door I was greeted with a very welcoming and warm greeting which I enjoyed since like I said I was a little skeptical. The man was extremely friendly and came across as very genuine. He told me to sit and relax and fill out a small bit of paperwork. From there I was escorted to a room with my pod. The other gentleman working explained the process from start to finish and gave me a bunch of tips to enjoy my experience. As I lay in the warm water again I found it hard to relax and I kinda felt like this was going to be a long 90 min but soon after my body acclimated to the feeling of floating I could no longer tell where the water or air touched my body. I had become one with the pod. I could hear the slow beating of my heart which soon put me in a deep sleep or trance not sure which one?? After my session when I exited the pod my body and mind were so clear and it was almost intoxicating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I think it's a must try for everyone.

The idea of training my brain directly with neurofeedback seemed almost "too good to be true", given my continuing challenges during many years of therapy, coaching and personal growth programs. Procrastination, lack of focus, and anxiety kept coming up and causing problems in my work and in my romantic relationships. Getting my QEEG Brain Map and discussing it with Dr. Andrew Hill made the root causes of these challenges much more clear - specific patterns in my brain's electrical signals are indicative of what I keep experiencing; like impulse control, lack of focus, insufficient rest from sleep no matter how many hours I sleep, and getting tired and distracted in the middle of every day. No amount of caffeine, positive thinking, or talking about my "issues" was making a difference. Just 5 sessions of neurofeedback with Peak Brain Institute has already opened up new experiences of life. I am excited to train my brain to make these permanent!
