This place is ridiculous. The teachers are condescending and all they care about is getting your money. Typical New Age crap. Beware !!

I've come to Katie's 9:30 FLOW class the last few Saturdays since I moved here, and each one has…read morebeen fun, thoughtful, and exactly what I was looking for - even though I didn't know it before class. She is effortless in her teaching, and speaks as if she's a friend guiding your body from shape to shape. There's no pretense to her presence, just authenticity and a true passion for what she does. I moved away from a very strong yoga practice and community back home at a studio I adore, and this place already feels like home away from home. The practice space: Thoughtfully appointed with a laid back feel, it's a perfect space to flow. The ceilings are tall, light is abundant, and there's plenty of wall space for an end-of-class legs up the wall savasana. Juicy. Lots of plants and greenery, plus wood and gauzy curtains that lend a very breezy energy. At a glance appears to have space for 15-20 mats (give or take). Logistics: There's one restroom shared by a few wellness businesses in the communal hallway. Entry to the space requires walking up a flight up stairs - there's no elevator that I've been able to find. Parking: Ample street parking - and directly across from Schnucks, so it's perfect to get some weekend or evening grocery shopping done after class. Extras: The community seems to interact with one another and know each others names and faces. Very friendly studio, options galore. Lots of options given and all levels of experience in class. Can't wait to keep coming back again and again!

I researched yoga studios and loved the feel and messages on Shanti's social media feeds. That was 2022 and now I am a devotee and found an AMAZING community that goes beyond the mat. The teachers inspire me, the two locations are designed to transport you into a zen state of mind, quality equipment, and creative workshops. I could go on and on, but looking forward to my upcoming 200th class and beyond!

I have been going to this studio for 5 months now (6 with my membership, but i'll explain) so I…read morefeel I am able to give a genuine review of this place. I had been experiencing a lot of low back pain, had a very stressful sales job, and was a few months away from having surgery so I needed something to help me with all of this. Enter Urban Breath Yoga. From my first class, restorative yoga with Erin, I immediately fell in love with this place. It was everything I needed and more. I'm not even exaggerating. My body felt so good that I started balling during class because there was no other way to express my joy. I wanted to talk to her about it afterwards, but I was a mess lol A couple months in and I realized I had no more lower back pain? It just disappeared? I always looked forward to clocking out at 5:30pm so I could rush over and release all my stress during vinyasa, hatha, power, and warm yoga. Then after my surgery I was able to slowly build back up without straining myself with restorative, nidra, and yoga basics. Also a HUGE shoutout to Michelle for being such a doll in helping me when I had to be out for a month, there was no issue in pausing my membership while I recovered and they welcomed me back with open arms. This place has seriously been like a second home to me. It's changed me forever and I hope that anyone who reads this review will give it a go and have a great experience as well. (bonus: they have tea!!!) Namaste

Another great find in St. Louis!!! I love, love, love SUPs! When I saw a Groupon for 45 minutes of…read moreYoga and then 30 minutes of open paddling, I knew I had to give it a go! The Groupon was $34 for two people, which was awesome. With that said, their regular prices aren't bad either. This class is only $25 a person without the Groupon. They also have SUP fitness classes for $25, which look great based on the pictures I saw on Facebook. Finally, they have an intro to paddle boarding (SUP 101) for $40 (1 hour and 45 minutes). You can also rent paddle boards if you've taken a class with them before ($15 for an hour and $25 for 2 hours). I've never done Yoga before, so I didn't have a lot of expectations. We spent the first 10-15 minutes focusing on our breath, and then the rest of the time trying foundational Yoga poses (e.g., downward dog, plank, etc.). I thought it was really relaxing and Christy, who was our instructor, was very friendly, encouraging, and calming. After her instruction, my husband and I freely explored Simpson Lake, which was nice. I thought the lake was a really good size and super still. A few other notes....in addition to Simpson Lake, they also do classes in Chesterfield at River's Edge Park. I can't say much about Chesterfield, but I found the Simpson Lake location relatively easy to find. Your GPS might be off a little (mine was), but the sign for the lake is pretty big and hard to miss on the side of the road. After you turn into the parking lot, it is pretty easy to spot SUP St. Louis and their paddle boards. In terms of apparel, you can either wear workout clothes or a swimsuit. Just be prepared that you might fall in so don't wear anything you don't want to get wet. Also, if you are uncomfortable leaving your phone/keys behind on shore since there aren't any lockers/secure storage options, make sure to bring something waterproof that you can take out on the lake. Be sure to use the restrooms before you paddle out! I made the mistake of paddling out with a full bladder and was very regretful that I did not take advantage of the relatively clean ones right by the lake. Finally, I think this class is good for anyone, although it helps if you have experience either with a paddle board (like my husband and I did) or with yoga. Overall, a pretty reasonable price for a very enjoyable afternoon. I will definitely check it out again!
