I was not quite sure how it worked but went online and booked a pass- and you can get up to 3 intro sessions for $60 a piece instead of the standard $99. It's such a cool place. Tucked away in midtown, is a zen palace... filled with pillows and chairs... tea and water.. and a number of other experiences like contrast therapy, sauna, chair massage, etc. I was unsure if I should book a room or a pod and ended with a pod. When I arrived, I was quickly greeted by Nu, our super nice assistant who gave a tour of all of the spaces and walked through how to use the pod. There were 3 of us that were there for our first time and she was so patient and friendly. She walked through how to enter, best practices, and asked if we wanted music or needed to purchase a swim cap or needed different ear plugs. She informed that the goal is to float in silence and darkness but for my first time, I opted for music. It was the most relaxing experience. I was able to calm my mind and thoughts and center myself. I was nervous I would feel claustrophobic in the pod but not at all. I will definitely be looking to come back as this experience was exactly what I needed! The quality of this experience was elite!

I had no doubt I was in the right place for what my body & spirit needed. I started with an enlightening ionic foot detox, ending with a hydro colonic. I've already rebooked my next session. The building is located off Chouteau and make your way up the the 4th floor after you sign in with on-site Security. Directly off the elevator, you'll find the entry way which leads into an open space adorned with greenery giving you a peaceful and relaxing vibe. Upon completion of the paperwork, I was provided all the detail I needed on the Hydro colonic and given ample time to ask questions and address any thoughts I had. The activity itself was definitely different from anything I could have imagined and I was certainly pleased with the outcome. I felt comfortable and supported the entire time and received the best in care. I'll definitely be back for more treatments and will certainly try out some of the other services as well. Awesome Space!!

The staff here is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, caring, and kind. They really want you to have a good experience. They did a great job preparing me for what would happen. I know some people might think this is a bit woo-woo but I recommend having an open mind, and trying it to see how much it helps calm your nervous system. They provide everything you need, including a comfortable cushion, blanket, eye mask, various pillows, and if you don't want to lay on the ground, they do have chairs to sit in as well.

Walking in the space is minimal and clean with spaces for your shoes and belongs. They ask that you don't use your phone and turn it off so the sounds don't disturb people. You select fuzzy blankets, pillows, neck rolls and even eye masks to take into the room where foam Matts and zero gravity chairs are arranged at nice distances along the room. They have gongs and bowls and various percussion instruments and chimes arranged along the far wall. Linda greeted us and Faith also helped play the instruments. We did some breathing exercises and then you simply lay and let the sound wash over you. It was like a group nap time, but it was relaxing and comfortable. I really wasn't sure what to expect, and I was so refreshed. The dedicated time to sit and relax worked for me. I slept better than I had all week. I am less stressed today and I think it was from this. I felt like I took a full mental spa day but it was only an hour! I didn't have to do anything to clean up as they roll in laundry tubs and clean up everything after. I think this will be something I add into my stressful moments of my life and help focus on me this next year. Check it out!

If you're looking for an ultra chic, modern, pretentious studio... look elsewhere! This studio…read moregives you that warm fuzzy 'local community' vibe (they even sell local artist goods in the lobby if you're interested in a 'one of a kind' statement necklace)! The classes are offered in a beautiful brick building (wood floors, big windows) on what I would consider the 'Main Street' of Lafayette Square. Plenty of parking in front of the studio or nearby. You have to travel through a small alley to get to the door (which is quite romantic... you can smell incense burning as you approach the studio's entrance). All of the instructors are friendly, helpful, and set a good pace for class. A couple of my friends enjoyed their experience with the studio so much they decided to complete the 'teacher training'! It's been fun to attend classes they host now to see how much their practice has developed!

If you're even questioning if you should drop in to a class at Southtown Yoga, the answer is YES…read more Beginner or advanced, ST Yoga gives a full yoga workout that will not only stretch you and relax you, but you'll also feel the burn. This week I went to a hot yoga class with my husband and his niece (she's a regular here) and although I've done regular yoga, glow yoga, aerial yoga, and yoga on the rocks, I had never done hot yoga so I was game. And I also hadn't done any form of yoga in quite a few months so I was a little weary since it wasn't clear what the ideal experience level was. We signed up online which makes the process quicker since you don't have to fill out any paperwork when you arrive. As soon as we got there we jumped in line, paid for our class ($7 cash/$10 card), kicked our shoes off, and found a space. The class filled up quickly so I'm willing to bet, late arrivals won't get in... which isn't a bad thing. I absolutely loved the studio we were in. The windows look out to Park Ave, but they do have a screen that blocks the sun from beaming down on you (I mean you're already going to be hot enough... you don't need the extra help). I like the whole design of ST Yoga in general. They updated just enough to make it comfortable like the nice finished bathrooms and changing areas, but they left a lot of the original features in tact like the wood floors and the large pane windows. What I love the most is that you enter ST Yoga through the back which takes you through this cute bricked alleyway... it truly feels like a secret that you're being let in on. So hot yoga. It was fast paced and hot. It was clear that it was going to be hot-hot and not just luke warm as soon as we walked in. I didn't mind it, but you'd be crazy if you didn't bring a water bottle (or two) with you. There is no pressure to push your body past it's limits, but more so to listen to your body and know when you can challenge yourself. And any reservations I had about going to a class that could potentially be an advanced class were washed away when I realized any advanced moves instructions were accompanied by instructions for modifications. 100% recommend! This was a fantastic workout that was both challenging and meditative. All of the staff was helpful and welcoming. Oh and they start off their Om's with this little accordion type instrument (different than any studio I've been to, but everyone was on the same key so it sounded beautiful). ST Yoga is a great place for any level yogi and they offer a range of different classes along with some pop up events so you can really find your niche at this studio.
