First off- they without a doubt, hands down, have the best rainbow cookies ever. They are the measuring stick I use to gauge all others, and I've yet to find a comparable match, or one that approaches. I stopped by this afternoon to grab a couple pounds, and the quality, taste, price were just how they were when I last had them...exceptional. While the rainbow cookies are certainly amazing, Patsy's is no one trick pony. They have a huge selection of tasty cookies, cakes, pastries, cannoli, fresh bread, Italian ice, and a host of other treats. The ambiance can best be described as that place where you go and instantly feel comfortable....you feel at home, like a regular- even on your first trip. Go on a Tuesday and it feels like a Sunday morning when everyone is going in early to grab bread for the evening's dinner. It's that place, and it's perfect. The service at Patsy's is impeccable. I was there at 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon, and there were at least 4-5 workers behind the counter masterfully taking orders, boxing and wrapping goodies, and ensuring all customers needs were met quickly with minimal waiting. Whether you're local to Lindenhurst or Long Island, or from far away and just in the mood for a great bakery (and rainbow cookie!) experience...you have to give Patsy's a try. I wanted a funfetti cake and the one they had readily available had lovely sunflowers on it. The woman working was so sweet and put some writing on the cake for me. The 6" cake was about $50 dollars which seemed a bit high, but I think its pretty standard for a bakery. The cake itself was very moist and absolutely delicious and I would give it an A+. The cake I purchased for her birthday from another local bakery last year was really dry, so I was pleasantly surprised by this cake. The buttercream frosting was where I felt the cake fell a bit short. It tasted like pure unsalted butter and had almost no sweetness to it, so we ended up just eating the cake center and leaving the frosting. Unfortunate for an expensive cake but based on the other reviews I'm wondering if it was just a one time error. I don't think I would get another cake from there, but the rest of the baked goods and empanadas looked awesome so I will definitely be bake to try those!

I got the feeling that this was something that I must absolutely try so I took my son who is an empanada fan and hit the road. We got there at the end of the day and luckily there was 1 veg empanada left so it was meant to be! I got the vegetable one and he got beef. We also got a little container of green sauce. We looked around and I saw the most beautiful cupcakes so I had to buy a few. I was also interested in the almond danish but I decided to save that for another day. We polished off the empanadas very quickly. I have to say that they were the best empanadas I've ever had. They are not even comparable to any other empanadas I've ever tried. I'm not an expert on this subject but I know awesomeness from mediocrity and these were awesome. Yes empanadas from a bakery get an A+++. The outside was light and flaky and the filling was very flavorful and juicy. As far as the cupcakes, also an A+++. Besides being beautiful with the decorations and edible glitter they were very delicious. I tasted a piece of the carrot cake one and the one with the Oreo on top, both were moist inside and had the perfect amount of frosting. I did not taste the vanilla or the funfetti one but my kids said that they were the best they've ever tried. We've had plenty of cupcakes from bakeries in our lifetime and most were looking pretty but fell flat in the flavor department. These exceeded expectations in both area. We live a few miles away which might be dangerous. We will definitely be back.

I guess I am old school or maybe just plain weird but I really like making the HUMAN connection when I am out & about.... I feel like people just aren't very socia anymore ....for a number of reasons . ANYWAY , if you have not been to AhugaPie Shop you ABSOLUTELY MUST GO. So I guess most people would equate a sugar pie to a Whoopie pie. These sugar pies are pretty big and a half of one is more than enough. Terry told me some people buy them and cut them in half and freeze them and take them out as they want them. Which I think is a great idea and is which what I did because I do not live nearby, but I would definitely drive to the end of the Earth for more. It's just one of those places. And I am not a big sweet person put the cake is just always soft and flavorful and delicious. And the filling is the right amount of the flavor and whipped cream and sugar. I think they have like 10 or so flavors available every day and they switch them around. I've probably tried five or six different flavors over the past two years and again all of them were very consistently delicious and amazing. I can't even explain it . It's just perfect. I've had them a few times before when a coworker brought them in. And I finally got a chance to go myself. I was so happy to share the experience with my family.. personally I love the chocolate cake with the peanut butter filling. So if your peanut butter lover, OMG go go go!!! . The product is very consistent. They do have a very specific hours. And as Terry recommended, it's always best to call ahead and either order , check the flavors of the day . & or the shop hours. It kind of blew my diet, but it was well worth it.. please go you will not be disappointed.. the only negative thing I can say about my experience is I wish I had bought a more of a variety of flavors.
