I was nervous about my visit to Uncle Joey's because the hype is so strong, and I figured there was no way it would live up to my expectations. Somehow, it still managed to exceed them. First and foremost, these were hands-down the best rainbow cookies I've ever eaten. Such a decadent chocolate layer, a generous amount of jam, and a perfect flavor to every element of the cookie. Rainbow cookies are my favorite cookies, and I've never had anything close to as good as these. Then, there's all the other rainbow inspired items that I couldn't resist. The cheesecake square is SO rich and decadent, but a must-buy - just don't try to eat it all in one sitting. The rainbow crumb is phenomenal as well, and the jelly layer at the bottom really hits the spot. The rainbow stuffed brownie was incredibly rich and fudge, the chocolate chip cookie was excellent, and the rainbow black and white is up there for one of my favorite items from the day! The chocolate covered donut was also incredible. I'm glad that I don't live too close, or I'd put on so much weight, but that I live close enough that I can stop by on occasion for some delicious treats. read more

The hype is real! We were finally able to stop in after two years of talking about it. We came on a Saturday. We were lucky enough to get a spot right in front even with the street ahead being closed for a carnival. It's smaller inside than I thought it would be, but there were only a few people inside at the time. The line moved quickly with the friendly and helpful staff. Everything has a rainbow cookie base. The rainbow cookie mix is great on its own. Whether it was donuts, cookies or cheesecake, everything was amazing. We got a little bit of everything to try. My two favorite were the black and white cookie, and the pignoli cookie. We were far from home so we were unable to buy the ice cream. I will definitely be buying it my next trip. They always say don't meet your heroes, and sometimes that's true when you've watched viral videos and saved a location with plans to visit at another time and unfortunately, this is true with uncle Joey's Rainbow explosion. With the very first bite of the rainbow crumb cake slice that should have been the star of the show, but sent my face into a puckered confusion! So much so, That I thought the spoon I used to take that first bite might have had soap on it! So I went for a different spoon and again got hit with a medicine like sharp taste not the exploding, sweetness and satisfaction of all quality raspberry jam! Oh that day, my purchase included the Rainbow crumbcaje, a cannoli filled doughnut. (Also Rainbow as per every item in the store)and a Rainbow black-and-white cookie. by the next day, The doughnut was hard as a rock and honestly, I feel like I liked that one the best, the cannoli cream was a nice offset to the bitterness of the raspberry jam. the day after that, now that's day three (because I ordered too many things just for myself) I mixed the now becoming stale rainbow crumb cake in with some vanilla ice cream, which again offset that terrible medicine chemical taste of whatever that raspberry jam is made out of. so overall Joey's explosion is not really a place that I would go back to? If you Get a piece of cake if you get a cookie you don't wanna have to figure out a way how to make it palatable. read more

I've had this place on my radar for some time as this girl loves rainbow cookies. It has very limited hours so be sure to check the hours of operation before going. I love how they take preorders online and I ordered quite a few items in advance (nearly $100). They do sell a good amount of items in the shop but if you want to be guaranteed an item, it's best you preorder. They also had items not available online but in the shop so I ended up buying a two of those too. When I got there I was so excited and my order was ready for pickup. The two ladies working there was less than enthusiastic but they got the job done (almost a bit apathetic). When I said, "I wish you guys had more opening hours, I would come more often". I was responded with "We are a small business and can't work everyday". This was the tone of the visit. My mom's coworkers were able to score some rainbow cookies from Uncle Joey's, and I was fortunate enough to try some. I can never go back to those dusty waxy and dry impostors from the grocery store. These were the best rainbow cookies I've ever eaten in my life. The raspberry jam is so fresh and sweet, and generously spread onto each layer. The thin cookie layers have such a soft velvety texture, and that smooth dark chocolate ganache on the top and bottom is literally heaven. It's all texturally so light and airy yet so packed with rich almond, raspberry, and chocolate flavor. I also love how they made the cookie into an Irish flag for St Patty's Day- it's the perfect marriage of the quintessential Long Island Irish and Italian cultures! Came here after discovering them on Instagram! I'm a HUGE fan of rainbow cookies and I always try to get them when I'm visiting Long Island. I pre-ordered their classic rainbow cookies as well as a Linzer Tart, chocolate chip cookie, and a rainbow cookie cake slice. I also ordered the cannoli when I got to the store. Everything they offer is rainbow cookie themed so if you're not a fan of the tri-colored cookie, you may not be impressed but I definitely was! The Linzer Tart was my favorite because it was the perfect cross between a linzer tart and a rainbow cookie - it was perfect. It was soft on the bottom and the jelly was delicious. If you like jelly donuts, this is a great option for you. While I liked everything, I do wish the cannoli was freshly filled upon order and their rainbow cookies could have used more almond flavor, in my opinion. 4/20/25. Someone brought these cookies to Easter so I can only comment on the taste. They are very good, and you can tell the chocolate is high quality. I love how thick the chocolate is too. My only gripe is that there was too much jelly (you can even see it in the pic). At times, it tasted more of jelly than almond. What can I say about pure perfection in a rainbow cookie! Uncle Joey was so accommodating and made a non-chocolate slightly naked birthday cake for my hubby and it was a real hit! The soft and delicious almond cake along with the sweetness of the raspberry filling and a little bit of butter cream was the ultimate birthday cake! Even the chocolate lovers of the family loved it! I have tried to visit this establishment more than once and have been turned away. Not because the product is that good, but because the management keeps saying they only do orders. also I have been told they open at 3pm. At 11:00am the door was open and the counters were full and I was they wouldn't help me and that I could not purchase anything. I will never go back no mater how good it is. I was visiting from out of state to see family and was talking to family about good bakeries in town and they mentioned this place as they sell basically anything you can imagine with Rainbow Cookie. I stopped by and picked up about five different items. WOW is all I can say. Phenomenal. The cookie with white icing and sprinkles was on another level. Amazing!!!. I cannot recommend Uncle Joeys enough. The rainbow cakes are next level. The chocolate ganache/frosting on the outside of the cake is UNBELIEVABLE! My wife and daughter recently stopped in here and picked up several items. This was their first visit to Uncle Joey's. Later that night, I tried the rainbow cheesecake dessert. This is my second time going here for a special occasion cake. Uncle Joeys does not disappoint!! Their classic rainbow cake is what dreams are made of!!! They're huge!! They are FILLED with the most delicious jelly the way a rainbow cookie should be. The ganache is decedent the cake layers are soft the jelly is overflowing in the best of ways. The smell transports you to heaven itself!! When I die I want my children to bury one with me so I can bring it to the pearly gates so that I'm allowed in. Somehow I found out about this place but I don't remember how lol. Anyway, I've been here a couple times and they have a large assortment of rainbow cookie items and few others including a delicious prosciutto bread that they had samples of recently. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. It's a small, clean, shop but strictly to-go (there are no tables to enjoy your treats but you can walk around main st). I recently tried the Rainbow cookie cannoli which was pretty delicious, at each end of the cannoli it's covered in rainbow cookie crumbs. The rainbow cookies are delicious, but slightly messy lol.
