On 12/30/2025, a worker from your company was shoveling snow at my property located at (Heritage Place). During this service, my exterior light fixture was struck and broken. The incident was captured on my Ring camera, and I have video footage clearly showing the damage occurring during the snow removal process. Please see the screen shot of the worker on my porch at 5:01 a.m. As a result, the light fixture now requires repair/replacement. I am requesting reimbursement for the cost associated with restoring the fixture to its original condition. I am happy to provide the Ring video footage of the worker on my porch shoveling snow, photos of the damage. I attached documentation to this email. Please let me know the next steps to resolve this matter. I have left several messages on the company phone and sent and email as of 2/6/2026. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! This company is a complete joke! Beware of using them! My townhome HOA recently agreed to go with Semmer only because our HOA representative, Michelle, has a "personal relationship" with the head of the company. Can you say Conflict of Interest?! Since they have started, our community has been extremely disappointed with their lazy and shoddy work. There are dead bushes and plants everywhere and mud for grass surrounding every street of our property. Recently, my front patio had to be taken up to remove some tree branches and roots and Semmer was responsible for repairing the patio following this. They did a horrendous job and I have since had someone trip and fall because the bricks are sticking out of the ground that they left. I had our HOA representative's "friend" from Semmer come out because I was so dissatisfied with the work and he was so rude and condescending. His workers had actually broken the plastic framing around my patio that I paid for and slashed my lighting cord in half. He told me that they would fix these issues and then, nothing. Nothing was repaired. These other reviews speak for themselves. Look elsewhere. Chicago has a lot of great quality landscaping companies run by quality people! read more

1/2/22 WTF is wrong with this company and worker's, nobody has any common sense, in the summer when they mow the grass with those standup machines they mow in the direction that the machine throw's the grass which faces the parked cars and on top of that they do the same shit when snow blowing I have a brand new $75K car parked out there and they don't give a shit, I even went to the Association to complain and the old cunt in charge tells me that's their job Wait,What! I've used Semmer for a plethora of years. As with any landscaping company - or any company in general - there can be hiccups, and we're all human. That being said, the landscaping company is one of the best that I utilize. Always willing to negotiate. Always "Johnny On The Spot." Always looking for the most effective way to beautify landscape within the customer's budget. I will continue to use them now and forever until there is some change in Management, which I hope never comes to that. read more

University Village HOA has used Semmer Landscape for the past 3 years. During the recent snow storm our property took on 11 inches of snow. Steve Regan who manages our account provided a detail plan and updates for and during the snow removal. His crew worked tirelessly for 2 days straight ensuring our sidewalks, staircases and drive ways were cleared and salted. This was an immense undertaking while getting 2 inches of snow every hour for 8 hours straight. Our community looked the best in the surrounding neighborhood and compared to the other Chicagoland areas. I manage a 26-acre HOA located in Chicago. We have used Semmer Landscape for both landscaping and snow removal services for the last 5-yrs. Semmer has always given us great service and responsiveness. Their account managers and field staff all work very hard to meet our standards. If we ever have any issues, they are always quick to address and correct them. After the most recent snow fall (Sunday and Monday), the snow crew cleared out all of the snow and salted our sidewalks, drive paths and parking lots extremely well. Don't bother using this company. I asked them to provide a quote, we agreed on the price, and confirmed a date & time to do the job (laying down sod for a townhome). No one showed up to do the job, and no one called to reschedule. I tried calling them to reschedule, but no one answers the phone! I am now looking for another company to do the work. read more

Just terrible. My association uses them and It's is so bad I bought my own lawnmower. Last year I had to tell them to stop using weed eater on my lilies. I contacted them about it and they never offer a sorry or replace the flowers. Years before that they just plan ripped my flowers up for no reason. This year I told them I don't want there services and they next day someone came and ripped my grass up. Healthy grass for no reason. I call the company 4 times, left 2 voicemails, and sent an email. They never got back to me. If you want to pay someone to ruin your yard call them. Very shady. read more

Rude and ignorant I was bombarded because I had my window open waiting at a drive-through the driver couldn't figure out to stop running his machine while he passed all those standing vehicles and I guess he couldn't be burdened to open his eyes to see what was actually going on in the parking lot. We live in a townhouse and are part of an association where we pay monthly as a group for things like snow removal for our porches, driveways, sidewalks and streets. Also, for grass cutting, pruning of bushes, etc. "Semmer" has been the worst and we fired them. Very expensive and proof that you don't always get what you pay for. They never pulled weeds and barely touched our bushes when trimming, everything always looked overgrown and unmaintained. The "McDonalds" down the block had better maintained landscaping. They also ruined part of our common area grass with their snowplow and never repaired it. Usually had people shoveling our porches at odd ball times like 2:00 am. and would throw salt at our porches that would hit our front storm doors. Extremely unprofessional. They assigned us a manager, Steve R., who talked a good game but had to be called constantly to redo the work that was not done decently. Over and over again, never ending. We do believe we got stuck with them bc our association management company had a relationship with them and would always tell us they were the lowest bidders on the maintenance work. We think this ploy is a scam between the management companies and the maintenance companies. Smells like some major kickbacks going on. The final straw was when they charged us extra over the contract to repair some severe dog damage in the grass for a part of our block. The work did not take, the workers barely even worked on it and "Semmer" would not come back and warranty it. We really don't know how they stay in business actually. read more
