I had a tow hitch installed which looks good by the way, but when they installed it, they had to lower my muffler and piping abit and they forgot to put back one of the rubber hangers on the piping. Plus my rear skid plate/splash guard was not put back on. So make sure people when they install those tow hitch, they put back all the parts back to your car. Plus renting trucks was a good experience and I am far away from this U-Haul already to ask for my rear skid plate back. So I will just have to go to my destination I am going too and ask another U-Haul to fix the hanger and to see about getting a discount on the install because of my missing part they did not put back and it will cost me some money to just to replace it. I have been going to this U-Haul for 10+ years now. They always seem to be properly staffed, adequately supplied with trucks & the service is 8-9 out of 10 every time. The manager is Jim and I've only ever had satisfactory service from him. Also the location in Pasadena is quite convenient. Pro Tip: if you are renting a truck it's best to get a ride because there isn't a lot of street parking available. I can't say enough about these group of people. They are thieves. They told me that if you bring back the truck with more fuel (4/16 tank capacity) than it is at the time of the rental (3/6) we will give you $20 credit. I did but they broke their promise and denied it that this thing exists at all, although it is written in my contract. Honestly, I wish I could give them ZERO stars. I came here yesterday for a scheduled pick up at 5:30pm and it was the WORST experience ever. I did the mobile check in and followed the steps. It was time to open up the lock box to retrieve my key. Only thing is, there wasn't a key in there. I scheduled a pick up and this held me back on my time. I chatted online with a 24/7 representative and told me to call a number and tell them there wasn't a key in the box, but no one answered. Just kept ringing. I tried calling this location but of course it kept ringing because they close at 5:30. There was a phone number posted on the door for the general manager. They didn't answer and we left a voicemail. I heard someone inside the building and there was a lady. My friend and I kept tapping and tapping the glass. She saw us but ignored us. Finally after a couple more taps on the glass she finally came to the front door. I told her there wasn't a key in the box. She told me to click the part on my phone stating that I've retrieved my key. But I hadn't. I showed her the screen of my phone after clicking it and she said she'll bring the key right out. First of all, why wasn't there a key in the box to begin with? Second, why do I have to confirm retrieving the key when I didn't? I could have easily gave her the confirmation number to show proof. Or she could have came outside to see that there wasn't a key inside at all. She finally came outside to give me the key to the van I rented out and she said, "Sorry, here's your key". Her co worker came out with her and laughed and said, " Sorry, she's a newbie" while laughing. This isn't funny. I had to be somewhere and wasted time calling multiple number trying to get a reach of someone to resolve the problem. It was very unprofessional and insensitive on their part. read more

Morning, they won't answer so the call went to corporate, asked the lady if propane service is open, she confirmed and yes it's open, took out my gas tank, drove all the up to Pasadena, parked, rang the bell for help. Rang..rang...rang...finally this guys peeked his head out the door and said they're closed for service. I saris your corporate said u are, he said he's not!! I have to give it to UHaul, they are really rolling with the pandemic punches. There health protocols are wonderful in my opinion. They have a contactless checkin/pickup, and drop off. It took a minute for me to do it but the tech savvy should have no problem. When I arrived I walked in, they scanned my phone and handed me the keys. It was a very sufficient and easy experience. When I brought it back I just followed the directions online, simple. Sanitizer is provided at the location and masks are worn by all. Good customer service (check), Covid 19 precautions followed (check), and Uhaul rental was clean and safe. I am unsure about pricing comparison since this is my first time renting and driving a UHaul. I'd recommend UHaul for your moving needs. read more

It's my first time using U-Haul and my experience was quite disappointing. We were informed that our vehicle had 5/8 tank of gas but when we got to the car, that was not the case. We had 3/8 to which I took a photo of with my phone. Later, my fiancée got gas for the car yet when we got the receipt, we were charged $28 for gas. It was ridiculous. We disputed this with the customer service rep but she wasn't helpful. I'm so upset that I didn't listen to the yelp reviews saying that this company is a scam. I would not recommend this place. They're extremely short staffed and place all the pressure on one lady to manage all the customers. They're not helpful. Please listen to this review and go somewhere else read more

I would like to give a no star rating if I have this option! THIS IS REGARDING MY UHAUL TRUCK PICKUP EXPERIENCE AT THE FOLLOWING OUTLET: KASL Printing and Graphics Inc. 1665 E Washington Blvd Pasadena, CA 91104 I requested to pick up the 10' moving truck at their S Raymond outlet, but UHaul assigned me to pick up at the above location. Issues I encountered are as follows: 1. UHaul use their App extensively to cut cost, but the App is not ideal. 2. UHaul sent numerous text messages to my phone for various info., and links for self-serve check-in....etc. There were too many of them, and you might ignore the last minute changes and the most important ones. 3. I specifically requested for 7AM pickup due to a long one day drive from Pasadena, CA to Phoenix AZ. They didn't say anything or provided any warnings as 7AM pickup is a self check-in process, but they sent me the instructions to do after hours self check-out to return the truck, which puzzled me. 4. I arrived at the above location at 7AM as planned, only to find out that nobody's there. I called UHAUL toll-free number, and all their call respondents only informed me that they could switch me to their dispatch department to reschedule the pickup time, and they told me that I needed to do self check-in if I want to get the truck immediately. I denied as I would like to deal with a real human, and I didn't know what condition was the truck. 5. Eventually I waited for the above outlet to open, and it was supposed to open at 9AM. However, nobody showed up until 9:45AM. Finally a guy showed up, but he basically only used the App to take photos of my driver's license, and charged my credit card. Then he threw me the keys, and asked me to use the App to go through the truck check-in process, which involves taking photos on the outside of the truck, the oil gauge level......etc. 6. The guy didn't even showed me basic truck operation, but just kept telling me that this is the way UHaul would like him to do. He even laughed at me and told the other customers that " Oh! This guy doesn't know how to operate a truck....!!" 7. I also ordered a dolly and 10 furniture blankets, and they were supposed to be put inside the truck for me. The guy did not put the dolly inside the truck but just put out a dolly inside the shop, and there was no mention of the furniture blankets. Eventually, I was busy with checking-in the truck and figuring how to operate the truck by myself. I drove off without getting a dolly and no furniture blanket. 8. This pick up location is not ideal, it was in a very small lot, and all the trucks/vans of various sizes were parking extremely close to each other. It was not easy to move a truck out by yourself without hitting others, All-in-all, don't expect any services from this location. Everything was self-serve. Thinking about it, there were so many risks that some accident may happen, unless you drove a truck everyday. I don't know if this is UHaul's way to do their business, but I will avoid renting from them again. read more

Most of the employees know what they're doing and are pretty good, but one person especially needs to be retrained on how to deal with the public. I think he's support staff that doesn't interact with the public normally. He doesn't realize or perhaps the management doesn't know that anyone who has ANY interactions with the public be it customer service or fleet maintenance is a representative of that brand's image. And as a representative of that brand, one's actions always reflect on your employer's training and hiring practices. So, this one person who only had to make a simple polite statement, instead gave vague directions which he later was upset that I didn't do what he requested. Therefore, I must conclude UHAUL's customer service to be average. Unfortunately, one person who doesn't know or care about the smallest of public interactions can bring down all the hard work of those working at the Pasadena UHAUL. read more

I have been visiting this U-Haul dealer to refill my three 20 lbs propane tanks for use in personal devices. Two weeks ago, I took two of my tanks to the dealership and had them refilled. When I got home I discovered the turn-on valve had been damaged and could not be opened for use. When I returned to the dealer, the assistant manager refused to replace the damaged tank, and gave me the business card for Jim Decker the center's GM. I sent Mr. Decker an email describing the situation and asking for resolution. Nearly a week later, Mr. Decker did not respond, so I followed up. Finally Mr. Decker responded and denied all responsibility and refused to engage in further conversations around any mutually agreeable resolution to the problem. I'm now stuck with a full tank of propane with an inoperative valve sitting on my property. This is a health and safety hazard, created by the Dealer's personnel and by the unwillingness of the Dealer's GM to work with a customer to bring the matter to resolution. I find this inexcusable, irresponsible, and potentially criminal, and I would suggest if they are so cavalier about how they treat their propane customers, I can only imagine their attitudes/behaviors around maintaining their rental vehicles. Please keep this in mind as you consider the options/locations for your renting/moving needs. read more

Rented a Uhaul for my move to San Diego. Workers are really nice, they are also prompt with replies and everything you need. They helped latch on the car and were very helpful. Uhaul was also very clean on the inside and outside. They also have moving boxes and wraps for furniture. They also have fillings for boxes. Called and made a reservation, but no one informed me it was a call center. So I get there to pick up my rental and I'm informed that unless I return it the same day, it's Sunday at 4:30pm and they close at 5pm, I have to pay $20.00 more to return on a Monday because they get so busy with returns from the weekend, they back up into the street and city will fine them. I said why wasn't I told this when I made my reservation and THIS IS WHEN I'M INFORMED IT WAS A CALL CENTER THAT MADE MY RESERVATION, and they didn't tell me because they don't know. Meh. Made a reservation to pick up a trailer at 7am. We got there exactly at 7 and they weren't even open. It wasn't until 10 minutes later the guy opened the doors and let us in. They need to have a more reliable way to check you in - like the way they used to check you in at any Uhaul place before smartphones were a thing. He wanted us to use our phone to scan our driver's license, upload the photos to check in. Unfortunately for me, my phone was not cooperating (my adblocker was blocking the link he sent to me) and I was not able to do what he instructed. He grew irate and ended up using his own phone. Heaven forbid my parents or in laws (who are in their 80s) ever have to go through a technologically-confusing situation like that. I had to take photos of the trailer because the pictures did not match the current condition of it. First off I didn't not expect to wait an hour in line for a morning reservation pick up. However, I am still appreciative for Wesley for helping me with my reservation and making sure that i got my discounted rate from mobile reservation. I barely made it back by 450pm the gentlemen outside were checking in vehicles as fast as they could. So give them a break, it's HOT outside, be patient and sit in your AC car to wait your turn. I was still able to go by the gas station to get gas and save me a lot of money. Lastly, I'd like to say THANK YOU again to Mr. Logan M. He has went above and beyond, gone that extra mile after closing time to finalize and assist me on my vehicle return. For that he got that Golden StAr from me. Reserved a U-Haul on-line, for the neighborhood pickup location closest to me, for a 15'. truck. Wen I got the email verification, it was for a different location. I called U-haul and got the reservation changed to a closer location and got a verification of the reservation. When I showed up at the designated time there was no truck. I spent 20 minutes on hold, only to be transferred twice , waiting on hold another 10 minutes. I was told the would have a truck for me at a new time, showed up again and no truck. I was told the truck they had reserved for me had not been returned (It was due back at the same time as the start of my reservation. They allow people to extend reservations, screwing the next customer out of a truck. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with this. I will never rent from u-haul again. read more

I reserved a substantial amount of plastic boxes for rent at this location. Despite their marquee outside saying "Reservations Guaranteed", they had less than half of the boxes in stock when I arrived, despite having made my reservation more than a month in advance. After waiting in line nearly 45 minutes to get this news, I was already feeling less than great - but then having to drive another 30 minutes in the opposite direction from my destination to another U-Haul location (where they were very nice and had plenty of plastic rental boxes), made the whole experience pretty bad. In the future I'll go to the other U-Haul (on Rosemead Blvd) if I need moving supplies again. read more

He's literally forcing her to rent for 3 weeks because she initially thought she might need them for 3 weeks. There is also people who stand on the road to ask if you need help moving so if you do this is a good place to go! They have parking which is a huge plus in Pasadena and they offer a variety of services and moving vehicles And tows! Only tip that I wish they would have recommended was to buy a lock for our uhaul we had to go and buy one later that night. So if you rent one buy a lock because the backs don't lock up. Rented a pickup truck from this facility twice, under 2 hour time constraints, and had a good experience both times. Check-in and check-out took a few minutes with a small staff, but it was hassle free and not that long of a wait considering all of the info and options to review. The staff was very courteous and helpful, and the trucks were clean and well maintained. 1. It helps to fill out the check-in form online when making the reservation to cut down on processing time. 2. Make sure you return it with the gas tank filled to the same level that you pick it up at. (Otherwise it's $30 plus the $ per gallon used.) There are always guys outside to help move stuff as well. read more

There are countless other places to go to in Pasadena (heres one where the guy is very helpful and even helped me adjust my mirrors Uhaul Neighborhood 3202 Foothill). I have no idea why anyone would ever rent from this Raymond location as I NEVER WILL AGAIN. I had an all-day move and by far the worst part of the whole experience was my interaction with this company. The 24/7 pickup saw me standing in this shady area of Pasadena that is known for crime and riff-raff in an empty parking lot for nearly an hour waiting at 7am. The truck was left with nearly zero gas so I had to rush to a gas station and the side mirror was loose which required me to pull over countless times throughout the day to adjust it. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS WAY TO GIVE A TRUCK TO SOMEONE. Also, as a bonus, THERE IS NO PARKING HERE!! Don't worry, they won't mention that at all, either verbally or with signs. But what they did do, was park a u-haul truck in front of my car to block it in so that when I came back at midnight, after an 18 hour day, I could not get my car. So I had to call my Wife to come pick me up in this industrial, vacant and crime-ridden area after midnight. Then I came back the following day to pick up the car and was treated to an attitude from the guy there who said that I was lucky because the tow truck was already on the way. He said "oh your the client who parked there by mistake?". This shows the disdain they have for their customers. He knew full-well that this was a customer's car and decided to have it towed anyway Almost forgot the best part, this worker, then refused to move the truck that was blocking my car. He was presumably trying to force it to be towed by pretending that he had no idea where the keys were to the truck. Then the keys magically appeared once the manager got involved. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else and when your car isn't towed and you are a given a safe truck, thank me later. UPDATE: And as if their excellent service and overall nightmare experience wasn't enough, they also make up nickel and dime fees to charge you (fees which Ive never been charged before- and I rent trucks all the time). Don't go to this U-Haul. I repeat don't go here. We rented a vehicle transport from this location. The guy put it on the truck and asked my bf if it was put on right? Well how were we supposed to know; if it was or not. It was our first time renting one. My bf said yes and when we went to put the car on the vehicle transport . It turns out the hitch wasn't put on properly and it lifted up and dented our truck. The trailer left a pretty good dent & scratch on the tailgate . We called to talk to James Decker and his first question was did you detach the trailer? No why would we do that. We explained to him that his employee didn't hook it up properly because why else would it lift up? His employee had head phones, probably wasn't paying attention. We filed an insurance claim and of course U-Haul didn't want to help there customer out and didn't pay for the damage that there employee caused. Don't support this business!! They could cause damage to your car due to lack of trained employees and they won't handle the issue in a professional matter. read more

The worst possible customer service you can get!! I called them and scheduled a hitch installation. When I went on the day I had the reservation for, the lady at the counter told me my hitch wasn't there so "sorry but you need to come back another day" I asked why they didn't call me and she did not have an answer. Called after 3 weeks asking for an update on the parts, they told me "your hitch is here" I asked, "why didn't you called me?" they did not have an answer either. I scheduled again my appointment, they confirmed it for 8 am, I called the day before to be sure nothing had changed (didn't want to drive again for nothing) Jim, on the phone told me, " your appointment is at 11" I asked " Why did you send me a reservation email for an 8 am appointment then" he did not have an answer.
