They reinstalled a receptacle backwards. This made it impossible to properly use the receptacle. Even the technician that installed it was concerned that he didn't leave enough room. They would not come back out to correct the problem without charging me again. $288.00 for a twenty minute job that was basically useless. Thanks Selectricty. I put a $975 down payment on an electrical job for a new shed. The next day I called and cancelled. I was assured that the owner (who is the only one who can do refunds) would refund the deposit. I called 2 weeks later after finding out that it hadn't been done yet. The response I got was, "oh, he forgot and he will do it when he gets back in the office this afternoon." I called again this morning (5 days later) because it still hasn't been done. These people are horrible business people. All the other electricians in town will tell you to stay away. In August 2022 I requested a quote from Selectricity Pensacola Office along with other electrician companies in the area for a pool panel replacement install. Whoever I initially spoke to scheduled me a "service call" unbeknownst to me there was a $180/hour fee when the tech came out. Tech was here maybe 20 minutes and looked at the pool panel unit and confirmed it needed to be replaced. When the tech left they asked how I wanted to pay the $180....completely blind-sighted I said to the tech send me the invoice because he put me on the spot and I knew he didn't control billing or the miscommunication from the rep who sent him out. I then called the Pensacola office RIGHT after the tech left. The same rep who sent the tech out tried to knock off a few dollars but I said that wasn't the point, I was NOT advised of a fee before arrival or before the tech looked at my unit. The rep on the phone said I would be hearing from her supervisor and I said yes, please. Supervisor NEVER called and I never got an invoice through text or email. FIVE months later I get an invoice for supposed "service call", I spoke to Kim (she stated she was a manager) and after about 15 minutes of explaining the situation with no resolution we had to hang up because it was going nowhere. She kept asking why I didn't reach out earlier when I DID right after the tech left that same day(!), she stated there were no notes to that call (insinuating I was being dishonest but I am happy to pull up my T-mobile bill to prove). I asked her why I would pay $180 for someone to confirm what I already knew(that my pool panel needed to be replaced and if there was an actual service performed (I.e. actually replacing the unit!) I would be more than happy to pay. She just kept going in circles saying she needed to pay her guys. The issue is on Selectricity Pensacola's lack of clarification and communication. The next week I called and was told they would be back either Thursday or Friday afternoon. No show. Called following Monday, was told we were never on the schedule but she would call the electrician and get back to me within the hour. Last we heard from them. First, the good stuff. We had a 22KW whole house auxiliary Generac generator installed. I called around for quotes and to my surprise, Selectricity was right in there. I decided to use them mostly based on what I'd heard from other customers and of course the quote. Once we got scheduled, things when ok. The crew came in, laid the pad, and put the auto switch panel in. The generator came the next day and installation went well until it was time to connect to the app. Much too hard in my opinion. Wa, la, generator installed and tested. Good work by the crew and good explanations to my questions The bad stuff. After the gen had been installed (mid-May 2019) for about two months we lost our main power (August 6, 2020). The generator came on and worked perfectly. It ran backup power as needed. The electricity was off for about two hours. When the main electricity came back on, the generator failed to switch back to line power. I shut it down manually after 7 hours and $100 in propane. (It took us a while to find out the power had been restored to the neighborhood). I called the company, told them the story and they told me they couldn't get anyone out for two weeks. At first, the agent told me there would be a service charge. I said that was bad business. When they finally sent someone out, he said the controller was bad and that it was a different revision number than the one they had in stock so he would have to order one. Then, on Sept 16th, 2020, along came Sally. When we lost electricity at about 0115, there I was outside manually starting the generator. Well long story short, I went back and forth with them for almost two months before getting the controller replaced. Whomever they have answering the phone is pretty much no help at all. I kept getting it's on order or back-ordered. I said how about taking one off of another unit in the warehouse. No, can't do that, was the answer. When I finally had had enough I called and asked for the owner. And just like that, the controller was received. In the End. The technicians were on time, did what they were supposed to do, and were polite. They did an excellent job of the installation. I am a repeat customer. I have used Selectricity For a major electrical update in my newly purchased home in 2018 and again called them in 2019 to Troubleshoot and get in operation my home generator. Once I got past the hurdles of dealing with their office personnel with scheduling each time, the crew that did the work at my home were awesome and fixes went well and we were very satisfied. Now, in 2020 I wanted additional work done and I thought I would take a chance with scheduling for a quote which I did call them and once I received the amount, here we go again, scheduling was like pulling teeth. My experience has been that if the scheduling person is out of the office no one else is there to help but take a message. I made several calls and left phone messages and even sent several emails and those were not returned. It seems everyone in that office is given a manager title and getting back with a customer in a timely manner was not good customer service from a manager. That is what happened with me. Yesterday the Billing manager answered the phone but she couldn't schedule me because the scheduling manager was not in. She did forward my message through to the scheduling manager which contacted me on her cell phone. At this time I had enough and was letting them know that I'm at my wits end with this and I am no longer using them for my electrical work. I asked them not to schedule it and to cancel my work request. I just got tired of repeat delays, Not answering my emails, not calling me back, not being in the office to handle my request or have somebody at least there that can, just overall poor customer service from their office personnel. These folks did a bang up job for us. We had our homestead out in Gonzales completely rewired for copper and brought up to 2016 code along with about 1600 in additional updates last year. Our PM was communicative and their were no hidden extra charges when completed. Their quote became the bill. We had only one issue with one room that they promptly corrected under their satisfaction guarantee, despite it being six months before it was discovered. Have had several jobs completed by these guys - a miscommunication about fixing a fixture almost resulted in an issue but Dustin (owner) agreed to make it better - though his office staff - was wanting to charge me a 2nd time for work that may not have been done right the first time - over all pleased with the workers and that Dustin - did step up to take care of the issue - also Selcectricity is way better than Walker electric - paid them to do a complete rewire only to find out 2 years later that the outlets to the washer and dryer had not be updated - and walker refused to even discuss the issue. read more

Hired Dustin the owner of Selectricity to perform a inspection of the electrical systems on September 4, 2019. Per his inspection of replacing two feed to the two panels, replacing feeds to both air handlers, replacing feed to range and replacing two breaker panels and gfci breakers. So we decided in May 2020 to move forward. May 13, 2020 was scheduled start day with three days to finish. First off all lights, outlets, switches, washer alarm and every electrical board worked correctly prior to Selectricity work. From day one they screwed up everything. Putting the range outlet in wrong spot. Took them three times to make it work. Blowing a washer control board and hiding the evidence of the outlet and even the new breaker did not trip. They also fried the alarm system transformer and battery. Both the washer control board and transformer are saved for evidence. Plus they left the burnt outlet. They also saw a hole in a wall because they do not know how to operate a saw. Now we are left with numerous lights and outlets out in the house. The kitchen, pantry, laundry, master bath and numerous other lights and outlets do not work. On top of that DUSTIN himself converted GFCI breakers back to regular breakers. We also have the main shut off breaker box open in sub panel. This box can kill someone if they touch the openings. Dustin never labeled either breaker box. He refuses to complete his contract obligations. Now he wants a complete rewire on the entire house for $28000 more even though he did the inspection. Plus all this work was done without proper permits from the city. Which we verified was required. Do not hire this scum bag. He will lie his way out of everything and blame the appliance or the lights. Do not waste your time nor money. We have proof of everything. I know he will try and lie on this review. The estimator talked at my level of understanding (he listened while I pointed out my concerns) and the results surprised my expectations. The tech and his team where quick and very efficient, checked with me and I watched them check their own work. I had to have my electrical system replaced from where the power off the pole attached to my house all the way into my fuse box. As a result of this, everything became new, upgraded, and greater service capacity as a result. And to beat all, was just under my budget availability. My neighbor, the widow of a Combat wounded Vietnam Veteran inherited her Fathers home after he passed away, and it needed to be re-wired to copper. She picked a different electrical company and they butchered the house, it was a mess, unpatched holes everywhere, one of the workers fell through the ceiling and they didn't even label the breaker panel. She then wanted to re-wire her own home and she asked me to help her find a good Electrician. (I wish she had asked me earlier we would have saved her Fathers home) I checked around and found Selectricity. A friend of mine told me that Selectricity is one of the contractors that PCC uses and they come highly recommended. She had them come and perform a walkthrough estimate, she added a few extras and a whole house generator as well. She brought the estimate over to me and we examined it line by line. It was thorough and complete, I said "Looks good, go for it!" They showed up on time, were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. Upon completion of the job I inspected the work and was impressed. One thing I didn't mention is I worked for a local electrical utility for 40 years. Now, my story: Our house was built in 1973 and it was wired with aluminum. Eventually we will be leaving our home to our children. They will sell it and split it amongst themselves. It cannot be sold unless it is brought up to code. I figured it would be cheaper to do it now than years down the road. I contacted Selectricity and had a walkthrough estimate performed. We added a whole house generator too. The team were on time and professional. They cleaned up and I am very satisfied. Personal note here: It is a challenge finding people to do craft labor nowadays, it doesn't matter whether you're having electrical, HVAC or plumbing work done, business owners struggle to get the right people trained and keep them. That being said understand that most of the workers that show up will be new young people and the lead Foreman will most likely only have been in that position less than a year themselves. Please be patient, ask questions and make sure that your concerns if any are clear. The owner of the company "Dustin" is a good person, I made it a point to meet him before I had any work performed, I drove to his office and put a face to a name. I talked to some of his workers out in the field and they told me "Dustin helps all of us to be the best we can be, he helps us go through an apprenticeship program and even with getting our Masters license knowing that we could (And some have) leave him and start our own business." And some that have left to start their own business still remain friends because Dustin is only interested in their success. That speaks volumes for a business owner in my book.
