A couple weeks after the fact the super sunny weather highlighted previously unnoticed swirl marks from the final buffing. Let's be real...no one really wants to go to an auto body place. Usually it means that you have been in an accident and your car is messed up in some way. It's usually expensive and annoying and takes forever. Not at Selecta Auto Body. I was rear-ended at a stop light and the Volvo was in bad shape, y'all. Selecta is right around the corner from my apartment and the insurance company recommended them. I went in, they did an examination of the damage. They provided me with an estimate and ordered the parts. We made an appointment for me to drop off my car when the parts came in. Dropped off the car and they had called the rental company ahead of time so they were waiting for me. JR and his team kept me informed every step of the way. Texts, emails, phone calls. Had a great experience here at Selecta, not only close to where I reside(walk to/fro), but Anthony was extremely helpful and responsive from start to finish with a small bumer replacement and light guard after someone ran into the side of my car. Anthony called when he said he would, provided an estimate as promised and scheduled me quickly....and around my busy schedule. The parts came quickly and once arrived, the work was done super fast in at 9 and done at 11 - same morning....I am 9 months pregnant with clock ticking and every minute running around counts. I truly appreciated his effort to get my car fixed ASAP - and they even fixed my rattling loosened front bumper - free(no thanks to the years of city "tappers" parallel parking in front of my car). My neighbor hit my (parked) car with a rented UHaul truck. Boo. I got an estimate from the dealership first (seemed like as good a place as any to start) and sent it to my neighbor. He wasn't insured for the truck, so he wanted to pay out of pocket. Being a freshly minted college graduate, he expected a gold star for having left a note when he hit me, and had no clue how much it costs to have body work done on a new(ish) car. So when he insisted on another estimate, I found Selecta on Yelp. The reviews seemed too good to be true for car repairs, but I quickly learned that Selecta has earned each of its 5-star reviews. The estimate process was quick and painless; they order all the necessary parts in advance of your repair appointment, so the repair itself only took 2 days. The estimate was a tiny bit lower than what the dealership quoted me so not necessarily a "bargain" but do you really want that when it comes to your vehicle? You kind of get what you pay for. They couldn't have been nicer or more professional either, and the shop is kind of beautiful! They clearly love what they do over there and they take pride in it, it is immediately evident. The ultimate price of the repair came in exactly at the quoted estimate, so no surprises. My previous experience with body work is that it is a hassle, expensive, and takes forever. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! I just got my bumper re-re-painted (after a bad job and horrible customer service at another shop). I can't believe how smoothly it all went! The PRICE WAS LOWER than the last place that did a crappy job 4 years ago. The paint job is GUARANTEED not to peel off in giant shreds like last time. The process was QUICK and EASY and they did everything they promised. Everyone who works at/owns that place seems NICE AS HELL. They surprised me by VACUUMING my tore-up kid van. They held my car for a few extra days while I was out of town, were understanding when I was late for a pick-up, and buffed out a couple extra scratches too. Neighbor smashed my sweet but old BMW. Took it here since they are a preferred provider of State Farm, and couldn't be happier. Everyone was very friendly and cool, they constantly called me with updates, and the work looks perfect. The reason they get five stars is for their friendliness -- Anthony, who I dealt with, remained cheerful and pleasant even when I uncharacteristically lost my cool and started yelling at him over State Farm not wanting to pay to replace the kidney grilles. Where do I start with this awesome review...I don't think I can speak enough to how awesome JR and his crew were to me this morning. The accident...I pretty much drove my car off a high curb and it ripped the bumper bracket off the bumper. I was literally so distraught and thought the repair was going to cost at least a grand. I did my research and found Selecta and couldn't help but read all the great reviews and shoose them as my first stop. I showed up at 730am...JR looked at it and asked if I wanted it popped back into place and I of course said yes. Popped it in and the end of the bumper piece was still sticking out and he told me the part to fix that would only be about $10 and he could order it. Then...a miracle happened...one of the guys said they have the same part (which is NEVER the case when it comes to insignificant parts like this one) from a repair they just finished. Sure enough, it was the right part - JR had one of his guys fix it in 5 minutes and only charged me for the part ($10). This was a refreshing experience considering what I was expecting - will be coming back for any other repairs to the car body (hopefully never) read more

I'm real fussy about body and paint work, and the crew at Selecta goes waaay above and beyond when it comes to quality repairs and paint. I crawl under my car and can see no sloppy overspray. I look at the fasteners that hold the fender liners together: perfect alignment, and correct factory parts. I look at the paint: Perfect metallic color match (and they even matched the factory's paint texture and subdued shine). Sure, the driveway is steep, but the climb is worth it. I took my Lexus SUV to Selecta Auto Body and had a fantastic experience with them. Their service was exceptional and the quality of work and attention to detail was really impressive. The car had a number of key scratches, bumps and dents from driving/parking in SF, minor accidents that had cause some damage to some of the doors, etc. It now looks pristine and JR and his team at Selecta have really done a terrific job. 1. The owner, JR, was incredibly responsive. From the day we dropped the car off, he was attentive and ready to make sure that we got a fair deal. He always was looking for ways to maximize the fixes without exorbitant costs. JR always had great ideas on how things could get fixed without having to do full part replacements, etc. 2. JR quoted a number of days to fix the car and it was done in exactly that time. I was so appreciative that he was upfront right from the start and told us how long it would take and that he'd try to go as fast as he could. He gave us regular status updates so that we knew where things stood. He would also call if he had come up with different ways to fix the issues that could save us money. 3. The car looked almost brand new when JR brought it back. He had fixed everything and also done a full detail on the inside of the car. It was incredible how he got rid of all the scratches and marks all over the car so thoroughly. He also focused on every part of the car and resolved all the major problems with the doors, bumpers, etc. 4. The price was very reasonable and very fair. JR really worked hard to avoid the very costly fixes and found ways to get the problems resolved without having to take a very expensive route. We really appreciated this very much. Bottom line is that JR and his team are really incredibly professional and their work is of extremely high quality. Amazing experience. Had an accident involving the rear spoiler of my 2018 CRV and the garage. Gene was very helpful over the phone, was able to get me in for an inspection and ordered the part right away. Part was backordered, no need for a deposit, and when the part came in 2.5 weeks later, was able to get the car in and fixed up within half a day. Excellent body shop. I had an accident with gate on Nissan Rouge at end of June. Selecta was great keeping in touch with us and informing of us of the status each day. They did a great job on my wife's Rav-4, plus they did a few extra things like buffing out some scratches and getting a new rubber pad for the rear bumper. Toyota does not have an extra pad to cover the rear bumper, so they used a pad made for a Subaru, it fit perfectly. It was a pleasure dealing with Gene, he was very helpful and professional. Even though I'd never had any contact with the shop before and was potentially a new customer, I feel like I got treated very fairly and that the guy who runs the place - JR - did an excellent job of properly & comprehensively assessing the damage. I ended up getting an offer through my extended family that I simply couldn't pass up, but I felt that I needed to leave Selecta a review for their outstanding work despite my not getting them this particular job. Unlike some auto body shops that see you as a number and are trying to extract as much cash out of you as possible, these guys have a great deal of expertise and actually care about their customers, and it really shows. Their customer service from beginning to end is what we're missing in this day in age where we have accepted apps and automation for service. I have had the unfortunate experience of being the recipient of inept driving twice and both times Selecta made it right by providing a reassuring level of service and predictable timeline of return. While I don't ever want to get into another incident at least I can breath easy knowing there's a shop like Selecta. Selecta just set the standard for 21st-century auto shop service! I had a (self-inflicted) accident to my side mirror. I thought maybe I could make fixing it easy, so I just emailed photos to a couple of auto shops, saying "Call me if you can fix this." Within a couple of hours Selecta called. Anthony (?) asked a couple more questions about my car and gave me a quote. I was able to book it without having to come by for an estimate! Then he called back 2 days later when the part was in, I pulled in... and 20 minutes later I was driving away with the new mirror! And that's including the bit of extra work they had to do that my photos couldn't show. It couldn't possibly have been easier or more pleasant. This place is incredible. I went for an estimate for my bumper, which had popped out on one side. Rather than recommend a complete replacement (estimated $1200), the guys at Selecta were able to pop it back in within 2 minutes, free of charge. Not only that, I had a few cosmetic scratches on two wheel wells, which they buffed out for me without me even having to ask. Incredible service, can't recommend highly enough. I can't say enough good things about my experience at Selecta. Both of the owners, J.R. and Anthony, were very friendly and knowledgeable and provided daily updates via email on the status of the job. J.R. even personally gave me a ride home when I initially dropped the car off. The service was also extremely prompt: I brought my Prius in on a Monday for extensive body work and I had it back looking like new by Friday, and they had it detailed no less. Their new facility is immaculate, it felt like more like a showroom than a body shop. They don't seem to skimp on materials and it shows, the refinished areas of the car are indistinguishable from the original paint. Can't recommend these guys enough, they seem to have a genuine passion for what they do and that shows in how they treat their customers. I very rarely leave Yelp reviews but I had such a positive experience with Selecta Auto Body that I wanted to share ... Previously Selecta had replaced the splash shield under my car. I took my car in today for just some minor fixes (somewhat related to the same incident as the splash shield replacement) and explained that I did not need to replace the full bumper to have it look perfect - just to get it back to safe driving condition. Selecta did a couple small things and did not even charge me (nothing, nada, zero). They have made me into loyal customer!! I highly recommend Selecta as an honest auto body shop (so rare).
