My thumb needed treatment immediately, not a month and a half later. After pushing back, Kaiser finally authorized me to see an in-network provider, and I was relieved when IRG could get me in much sooner. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. When I arrived for my appointment, the OT told me they were "short staffed" and that he would have to split his time between me and another patient sitting right next to me. I was stunned. I was paying my copay for one-on-one occupational therapy, yet I spent the appointment sharing my therapist's attention with someone else. At no point did I feel like I had his full focus or that I was receiving the level of care I was there to receive. The treatment itself was underwhelming. My hand was dipped in warm paraffin wax, which felt nice, but I later saw the visit billed as heat therapy with ultrasound. I never received any ultrasound treatment. Seeing that on the bill raised serious questions for me about the accuracy of the billing. It feels fraudulent. To make matters worse, after dividing his attention between two patients for the entire session, I walked away with exactly one exercise to do at home and a tiny rubber thumb guard. Then I saw the bill: $553 charged to Medicare for that visit. From my perspective, the value of the care I received was nowhere close to what was billed. I left feeling rushed, overlooked, and disappointed. I expected individualized occupational therapy, not shared treatment and what felt like the bare minimum of care. I cannot recommend Integrated Rehabilitation Group based on my experience.

I came in completely frustrated about a back issue that was making daily tasks hard. I came out knowing an old ankle injury was the cause and with a plan on how to move forward. And, I have seen considerable progress within a week. The clinic felt more personal than many I've been to. I didn't feel like I was being slotted into a 30 min slot with the therapist needing to move on. The therapist took time to talk to me, understand my background and previous injuries, and make sure that they were confident in their assessment. I really couldn't recommend more.

This was after I asked if I was being assigned too many reps because I suspected I was sore in not good ways. After that Sunday issue resolved, I started tracking how often I had issues after a PT visit. There's stretch and then there's strain. We had this convo and still my limb was overworked. Now at a different PT and it's enlightening. Also, the business side of this place is a wild ride. First, everything is in text. EVERYTHING. You can't call in and make an appt. You can leave a msg and they'll text you. And then you text them back. And then they may text you back... This was really inefficient on my end. I can't imagine it isn't on theirs as well. At your first appointment, they scan your driver's license because "it's required by law." No. No, it is not. And if insurance was worried about scammers/substitutes, they'd put a pic on our cards like Costco does, so I don't get why they wanted to scan my license. I refused and the office manager ok'd it. Also, the office manager was there when I asked to see their privacy policy. They couldn't produce it but said they would the "next" visit. They were never able to produce a privacy policy and that IS actual law (FEDERAL law to be exact) and not a new law. BTW, the intake form requires everyone to check a box that they've read the privacy policy. I told them I would check it with the understanding that they would show me a privacy policy at my next appt. May seem minor but it's indicative of how a medical office is run IMO. Re: the place. The physical place is great. Clean, comfortable, welcoming, with decent parking. Re: therapist. I may have just had a bad therapist for my issues. Glad I moved on. Re: the office issues. Hard pass.

NOT RECOMMEND FOR PEOPLE WHO VALUE KINDNESS Before I tell my…read morestory, I want to acknowledge that I've been to physical therapy three times in the past for previous intensive sports injuries resulting from wrestling and cross country. I also volunteered as a student athletic trainer for four years in high school. On 07/16, I chose to try AMI Physical Therapy to rehabilitate and resolve tightness in my upper back and calves because of the reviews and the proximity to my residence. When the time arrived for my appointment, I stood outside the door for 10 minutes, as they didn't provide me (beforehand) with the door code (which is required) to enter. During that time, I called the number listed on the door as instructed, but received no response. I was only able to enter when a mail delivery person let me in. Next, when it was my turn to consult with my physical therapist, Aaditi Gokhale, she was extremely rude to me throughout the entire process. As someone with ADHD, I have to remind myself to slow down, and Aaditi politely mentioned this once. After that, I made a conscious effort to slow down, reiterate my thinking, and keep my responses concise. However, she remained extremely condescending and dismissive of my concerns. Before we went through the consultation process, I explained my intentions and goals with PT, specifically that I was seeking muscle release, scraping, etc. She immediately laughed it off and said those were just temporary fixes. While I understand her perspective, I mentioned that I have lists and numerous resources for strengthening my muscles, as I know my body well and how to accommodate it, and was really just looking for this aspect with PT, yet she insisted she knew better and essentially dismissed my input as invalid. She became visibly irritated when I used terms like trapezius or labrum tear shoulder, seemingly perceiving it as if I thought I knew more than her. While the consultation process was demeaning and insulting, I shrugged it off and was still ready to proceed with PT. But again, she was completely impatient, rude, and belittling, explicitly saying, "Did you not watch what I did?" in a very condescending manner and adding, "I am only going to show you this once." This was extremely irritating, yet I still treated her with respect and professionalism. On 07/17, I called at 8 a.m. to reschedule one of my appointments, as we had booked out six weeks in advance. I was able to reach the office quickly and successfully change the appointment. I also wanted to ask a quick question about the focus of future visits and whether we could leave a note about my original request for muscle release and scraping. I was put on hold and transferred to Aaditi Gokhale. I greeted her and began to express my concerns, but before I could finish, she said, "Say that again," followed by, "Is this important and urgent right now? Because I need to go." I replied, "No worries, I just wanted to leave a note. I didn't know I was being transferred..." but she cut me off and said again, "Is this important? I don't have time right now." After that interaction, I was truly baffled by how rude she was and decided to cancel all my future appointments. Even though the location is within a five-minute distance from my residence, this experience was so disappointing that I would rather find another clinic that is actually willing to listen and accommodate my needs instead of handing me a pre-printed sheet of exercises I could have found online. Based on my observations this day and my interaction, this location would probably be beneficial for older adults on simple muscle strengthening exercises, but for younger, intensive athletes (I am 21), this is not your place. I'm sorry to the other physical therapists at this location, who are probably phenomenal people to work with, but this experience with Aaditi Gokhale, was truly upsetting. Thank you.

I have been working with Dr. Rachel and her aides for the past 3 years, for different injuries. The team has been Beyond Outstanding; Beyond Superb in making sure that I become healthy and well again!! Dr. Rachel would take the time to demonstrate the exercises, and then have me perform them, with a watchful eye looking for proper form; time to hold reps; and the number of reps per set! She would have me push myself to get better, but not enough so that I would injure myself! She welcomed any, and all questions on performing the exercises; even explaining the purpose of each exercise in reaching therapy goals! At the end of each session with Dr. Rachel, she would give me the homework exercises that I would perform over the week for improvement. I would diligently follow her prescribed program. and would then gain strength, mobility, and flexibility soon!! Dr. Rachel crafted a homework exercise program that made me reach my physical therapy goals in no time!! I cannot say enough great comments about Dr. Rachel and her caring approach to help the patient!! She cares for the health and well being of her patient, and it shows!! Other therapists that I had for a few days, Adrienne and Dre also made sure that I had tremendous improvement with my therapy goals! All of my therapists, including Dr. Rachel were so actively involved with my success, that they would sometimes work out with me, at the same time I performed the exercises!! Talk about investment in my success!! Physical Therapy Aides: Isobelle, Audrey, Francis, Elijah, Becky, Chloe. Patrick, and Mario would take over in the 2nd Half of my session. They showed me, and had me perform again, the exercises that Dr.Rachel had me do, and then also had me do additional exercises that Dr. Rachel had prescribed to help me improve even faster. The aides just like Dr. Rachel, watched me carefully for proper form; time for holding the reps; and counted the number of reps per set. The aides like Dr. Rachel pushed me hard to perform the exercises, but not enough to hurt myself. Aides also had me perform the homework exercises correctly, so as to ensure that I knew them well enough when doing them during the week!! I had 3 different injuries over the past 3 years. All of my injuries no longer exist!! I actually have much more strength, mobility, and flexibility than I had before my injuries!! I have reached levels of success in my therapeutic goals, that I did not believe were possible!! Should I need PT in the future, I will not hesitate to go back to Therapeutic Associates, Ballard Physical Therapy!! I would strongly recommend anyone who wants to reach their highest PT goals, to go to Therapeutic Associates, Ballard Physical Therapy!!
