Yelp, I am STILL so frustrated with you. I'm trying to give Dr. Mola more stars! Came back today for my 6 mo. check up, so this would be 6 months after my first review. I still really love this place....well, let's face it. I still really love Dr. Mola! What a genuinely, kind guy who seems to really enjoy getting to know each of his patients. I'm moving out of the area in July (so sad), but I'm telling everyone I know to hurry and switch dentists! I've seriously never left the dentist smiling..but I always do after coming here! I got my E-max crowns by Dr. Mola's recommendation. He treated the area perfectly with his professionalism because those were the ones mistreated three years ago and they were nothing but pain and bleeding. So with his procedure everything went fine and I have a better smile with no pain anymore. Dr. Mola is the kindest dentist I have ever met. The service I received was over and beyond my expectations. He makes you feel like a person and not a number. He takes the time to ask about your day and he explains the procedure thoroughly. He makes going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. My only wish is that I had found him sooner. I am REALLY impressed with Dr Mola. He went over my X-Rays and care plan with detail and patience, without getting too technical. He was very attentive and VERY genuinely showed a desire to helping with my dental issues (I should take better care of my oral health). In the few times we've been there, he and his staff have been very welcoming and friendly. What REALLY topped it off? Dr Mola called me personally this SUNDAY morning during the holiday weekend just to check up on me after having some work done yesterday. Dr. Mola is a nice enough dentist, but they've canceled and tried to reschedule my last three appointments. I have a busy schedule and have to plan around these appointments which are booked 6 months ahead. Then they call me the day of and say "Sorry, but we have to reschedule." This has been happening since I first started going here. The first time it happened, Dr. Mola called me and apologized which was nice, so I stuck with them. However, this practice is very unprofessional and I'm looking for a dentist who respects their patients more. read more

Because of the great reviews on Yelp for Dr. Mola, I decided to take my dad to Select Dental to get a crown in 2016, but I was disappointed at his work! My dad had been feeling discomfort since Dr. Mola put the crown in. He was willing to fix it, so I took my dad back to Select Dental for tooth cleaning in May 2017 so he could fix it at the same appointment. My dad finally feels ok with the crown after a year or so, but we were both very disappointed at how Dr. Mola cleaned his teeth. There's no doubt that Dr. Mola was very friendly and talked a lot. When he was cleaning my dad's teeth, with water in my dad's mouth, he would even stop and talk to me. It's nice that he took time to talk to me, but I would appreciate it more if he would treat his patient first. He cleaned my dad's teeth for about 10 to 15 minutes, and then he let his assistant take over. Out of that 10 to 15 minutes, he probably spent 5 minutes talking to me. Then his assistant worked on my dad for another 5 to 10 minutes. Many steps seemed to be missing, such as applying fluoride treatment and flossing. When I asked the assistant to floss my dad's teeth, she only flossed a few teeth. I suppose because they did not apply any fluoride, flossing was not really necessary. I have decided at that moment that I would not take my dad to that dentist any more. After seeing Dr. Mola clean my dad's teeth, I really appreciate how thorough my dentist cleans my teeth. I am really amazed at how many great reviews Dr. Mola receives. After that teeth cleaning appointment, I decided to open a Yelp account to write some truthful reviews. read more

Just an okay place. I came here for my regular cleaning and the lady was pretty bad at doing the X ray for inserting the X ray piece in my mouth and end up scratching me. Cleaning could be also be done better. read more

My brother went to see Dr. Mola for his wisdom teeth extraction per recommendation (more like demand) of our good friends who have been loyal patients of his for years. I was not present for the procedure but he sang like a canary afterwards about what an amazing experience the whole process had been. From how genuinely charismatic the doctor is during their conversations to how gentle and knowledgeable he was when it got down to business. The only time he felt some discomfort was from the shots but that's inevitable and a small price to pay for a practically painless visit. He couldn't stop raving about him! And after witnessing his recovery I can fully attest as to why. He did not get swollen in the slightest and subsequently felt no pain whatsoever. Having gone through the procedure myself as well as being in the dental field, I was utterly shocked and left in complete awe. It's not every day that an operation like this goes so smoothly, but moreover it's not every doctor who can perform at this caliber while yielding such ample results. Dr. Mola, thank you for dealing with my baby of an older brother. I can't begin to describe how much he appreciates you and so do I! Even though I live 40 minutes away, I have decided to make the switch over to this office for my future dental needs. It's hard to find someone to trust these days with a simple task, let alone to poke around in your mouth with a needle. So a little distance doesn't mean a thing to me in exchange for credible work and piece of mind. read more

Somehow, I managed to wait until the tender age of 40 to lose my retainers. Since my teeth still move, I wanted to get a replacement ASAP. I had no success with other orthodontists in the area, but was very impressed with the speed, quality and helpfulness of the staff at Select Dental. My first visit here was when the whole pandemic first hit. I wasn't sure if I would be seen as I would be a new client but I was wrong. I remember clearly calling in and speaking with Elizabeth (she was and still is, very nice and welcoming) got seen that same day and treated asap. Normally I would never write a Yelp review for a dentist, especially considering my previous history of pathetically debilitating whitecoat syndrome, but Dr. Mola is absolutely the kindest dentist you will ever meet. Not only is he great, but Yesenia and the other staff are also kind, fun and very skilled. Right off the bat, I told them about my ridiculous fear of dentists, and they went out of their ways to make sure I was both physically and emotionally comfortable. I had really crappy fillings done when I was in high school, and Dr. Mola literally spent 5 hours taking them out and refilling them, and my teeth look SO much better! There is always good music playing, I never felt rushed or unheard, and I never felt like I had to sacrifice a job well done in order to assuage my dental fears. This office is amazing. The staff is very welcoming and Dr. Mola couldn't be more efficient. My mouth is Full off issues that actually us resulting in nearly 10k worth of work. Being that I definitely don't have that type of money laying around I called the office to see what can be worked out. I highly recommend this dentist. I left my previous dentist because they didn't do a thorough job on my teeth and it always made me dread dentists. Select dental is knowledgeable about what they do and they will guide you through the process of what they are doing. The receptionists are nice people and so are the dental aids or whatever you call them. The dentists are super nice and seem down to earth and will strike up conversations with you and fist bump you! They also have these payment plans through this credit thingy. Not really sure what it is but it helps if you can't afford everything up front! They also have steady hands in what they do. In getting procedures done at my old dentist, I always remember being in pain but at this one, I can barely feel anything and am always shocked when they say "done". I'm like wow! That was really easy and smooth. It may sound weird but I actually look forward to going here whenever I need a procedure done! read more

I hate going to the dentist, so only go when in pain. All dentists remark on my unusual anatomy. I don't trust dental hygienists, I was so happy when Dr Mola cleaned my teeth himself. He also discovered a problem that my previous top-ranked Bay Area dentist missed. Dr. Mola referred me to a great Endodontist for a complicated correction of previous endodontist work done elsewhere. The endodontist recommended a panoramic catscan which confirmed the general dentistry (nonendodontic problems) that Dr Mola picked up and identified the tooth causing the problem even though the pain was referred elsewhere - complicated! Dr. Mola is patient and very kind. He does not hand 'finishing up work' to assistants. Not a pushy dentisty salesman. Actually listens to you which is how he knew to refer me to the endodontist and saved doing unnecessary work. Receptionists and staff are great, seem happy not overworked. read more

I very rarely writes review, but this is one that I absolutely have to write. Due to having extreme fear of dentistry, I have avoided the dentist for 22 yrs of my life. Yes, I have not attend ANY dentist appt in those 22 years. Dr. Mola was my husband's dentist. And it took a lot of convincing to get me into the door and booking an appt. Dr. Mola is such a nice caring person, who totally empathize with my fear. He was very gentle, yet very thorough and informing me of everything that he was doing. Dr. Mola even convince me to take an extra step and put on braces. I have to say, thanks to Dr. Mola and his team (Dr. Dinh) my fear went from 90% to 10%. I can now go to my appt. at ease. Dr. Mola and his staff are so great! My insurance changed so I had to find a new dentist. I found this office on my insurance's website. Sally was so helpful at taking down my information and confirming my benefits. She even remembered me when I came for the appointment. The office has ample parking, it's very modern looking and has high tech instruments. They showed me my digital x-rays on a big monitor right next to the exam chair. It helped me understand what the Dr. was telling me about my teeth. I would highly recommend this office! I will be going back! read more

I've only been here once. My previous dentist told me I had 4 cavities. I came here because my insurance changed and they were closer. Here, I was told that my teeth had no signs of cavities. I was shown x-rays and given a clean bill of dental health! Wow, went from having 4 cavities to 0. This all meant my old dentist was lying to me. Honesty is the best policy. read more

This place was recommended by a friend of mine who happens to be a dentist in Marin county. I just took my mother (she lives in Oakland) there because she was having pain in her mouth. Dr. Mola was very very polite and knowledgeable. He was able to fix her problem almost immediately. This was no easy feat, since my mother has had this problem on and off for couple of years now! I was starting believe it was fictional. However, she is happy, thus problem solved! This place is very new and very clean, plus the staff was real nice as well. I've been seeing Dr. Mola for about a year, and I've been meaning to write an excellent review on him this whole year. My husband started going here and really likes Dr. Mola, too. I actually look forward to seeing him. At my last visit, I was being taken back and I heard a patient happily exclaim, "You are just so nice!" to Dr Mola. She must be new - he is incredibly kind, helpful, and positive. I've heard him be so kind to everyone - no matter what kind of insurance you have, he's helpful and so compassionate. The dental office is really nice: clean, well designed, and there's always gorgeous music playing. Often Spanish guitar, or beautiful jazz. Dr Mola is a perfectionist: he makes absolutely sure a filling or crown are made exactly right and perfectly in place. Once, a porcelain crown he'd had made by a lab looked great, but there was a tiny gap. He sent it back to the lab to have them remake it because he knew that tiny gap would mean debris could get in and harm the tooth. Most dentists would ignore that gap (I've had dentists like that!), but Dr. Mola made sure the lab remade it correctly. It was perfect the second time and definitely worth the wait. Dr. Mola was so apologetic but honestly I know it was worth it to wait and get the right crown in. He's always got something fabulous to tell me - whether it's about going to dental school in the Dominican Republic (he loved it) or how he did his internship work in Mexico because he knew he would get a ton of experience there because there is such a great need for dental care. He can do both top notch excellent upscale dental work (I had super fancy insurance through work) and super compassionate and helpful for people who dont have the best dental insurance. I absolutely respect this man's work ethic. I want to be more like him. He's the best in the bay area. read more

Best Dentist EVER! Now I HATE the dentist probably more than anyone. Bad experiences have ensured that being shaky and feeling sick to my stomach accompanies me to the dentist chair. My insurance isnt that great so I was skeptical when I walked into their lobby, it was too nice. My insurance has been "accepted" at other places and I ended up getting a $1500.00 quote, so I was sure that would be the case with Select Dental. Not the case. Dr. Mola and his staff are incredible nice, professional AND they know what they are talking about. He didnt judge my horrible teeth nor did I get a look when I confessed that I had been hiding from the dentist for three years and thats why I cracked at tooth and ended up in his chair as an emergency.He sent me to the right place and got everything taken care of. I am so greatful to him, he is amazing and talks to you while working.He works with your budget and is single-handedly making it so I have a white smile. I work two jobs, both for family businesses, and he even talked to my nephew when I had to take him to my appointment. He works with my schedule and I even get reminder texts from the office for my appointments. Im not going to go as far as saying I am excited to going to the dentist(unless you have laughing gas I dont see anyone chomping at the bit to go) but Im not sick to my stomach when I have to go and I'm not shaking in the chair. I can't say enough about how much I like having Dr. Mola as our family dentist! I used to have a ridiculous phobia of the dentist (in the past with other dentists I needed nitrous oxide for regular cleanings and I even had general anesthesia to get my wisdom teeth out). Dr. Mola has come to the rescue. I brought my 95 year old great grandma in to his office for her first dentist visit in years (due to a traumatic dental procedure that destroyed her mouth years ago that made her deathly afraid of the dentist) and he put her at ease instantly. Dr Mola is an exceptional dentist who really looks out for his patients. As a lot of the other reviews here confirm he's very professional, and skillful, but a really nice person at the same time. A fairly rare combination, as I have had dentists in the past who were only two out of three with those attributes. As a result, his popularity sometimes means he gets backed up. But he either clearly communicates when he'll be ready, or has one of his equally skillful and friendly staff work on the issue where possible. read more
