I can't say enough about Dr Chalmers and the staff. Everyone is so kind and smiling and seem to genuinely like what they're doing. I went in for an emergency root canal and Dr Chalmers was very gentle, the shots didn't hurt and the root canal was over quickly. I'm normally pretty sensitive to the pain of dental shots and X-rays because I have a small jaw, TMJ and I'm basically a big baby but Dr Chalmers is a sweetheart and they even laughed at my jokes. I was referred here by Woo Family Dentistry and I must say, Dr. Dewey Tong did an amazing job on my root canal. I actually had a slightly complicated procedure as there was a prior root canal that was done poorly 15 years ago in another town and needed to be redone. Dr. Tong and and team went through the treatment options and explained everything clearly. Also the entire staff was very friendly! When it came time for the procedure, the numbing was less than a pinch and I could barely feel it. Dr. Tong takes his time to ensure the patient is comfortable and understands what is going on. My son have a dentist appt today for his root canal. I have no issue about the dentist or the treatment. My issue is when we arrived at the place as soon as we walk in we saw a guy cleaning pr vaccuming the carpet and not wearing a mask or have a mask with him. He didn't even care to put one when he see us. While seating down at the lobby he and the front desk is a discussion without a mask the front desk have a mask but its under her chin not even under her nose. During this pandemic is it important to follow protocol for everyone's safety. Me and my son dont feel safe. They need to improve their safety protocol. read more

I have had the misfortune of needing a few root canals. Dr. Fair was referred to me by my primary dentist about 4-5 years ago. He was quick, friendly and efficient. His office is basic but honestly I want to get in and out?! My entire root canal took about an hour? There was ZERO pain. Right before this past Christmas I had shooting pain that affected my entire right jaw. My dentist quickly diagnosed the problem and tried to call in a few favors to get me seen before the holiday. The best he could do was 3 days later as Christmas was days away and people were leaving town. I called Dr Fair and they took me later that afternoon. It turned out to be a much more intensive root canal and required more than one appointment however within the first appointment he did enough that the pain was gone and I actually enjoyed the holiday before returning to finish it. I'm not too worried about office decor, his staff has always been friendly, efficient and accomodating. His work is precise, accurate and he his well-practiced so the procedure is fast. Dr. Fair did my painless root canal. Then, I broke the tooth again before it got the crown. This time, the tooth had to be extracted. Again, a pain free experience. The pain afterward at home was better with the prescribed ibuprofen. Dr. Fair called that night to check on me. In my opinion, he's not only a good surgeon, he's a gentleman as well. **USE CAUTION** Service was fair. I was referred by my primary dentist who sent over my x-rays. Basically all Dr. Fair's office did was take new x-rays (though my other ones were from the week before), then look at the tooth and say it could no longer get a root canal and needed extraction. Then referred me somewhere else. I verified all my information with the office person before leaving. Come to find, 6 months later, that I owed $29.00, but never received a single bill or phone call. Instead, I received a letter from a collection agency. They sent me to collections for $29 after having contacted me ZERO times. Pretty lousy customer service. read more

Scheduled an appointment last week with Olga. She scheduled an appointment with me to come in on Tues April 13th, 2021 to look at a tooth on the upper right. Got a confirmation yesterday(the 12th). Then i get a call 2 hours before my appointment on the day of appointment at 10:00am and she says "yes we looked and saw that tooth number 14 you already saw us about and we told you, you have to get it extracted! Well that was the wrong tooth and wrong side! When she scheduled my appointment she got everything wrong then after i tell her its the other side and not that tooth which i told her at first she rudely asks me if i have a referral?? I could not believe what i was hearing. Why would she schedule the app. Get everything wrong not ask for a referral but then on the day of she asks? Makes no sense. Terrible customer service and the Dr is very rude and just as bad you can tell he does not genuinely care about his patients. Choose another dentist if need be not this one. read more

I hate having to write my experience but I think it's necessary. I really liked Dr. Fair as a person. I thought he was a very kind man and extremely easy to talk to. Now the bad part. He proceeded to do a root canal on my tooth and found that it was calcified which means basically he had to go digging around to see if he could find the canals. He only found one. So he put a softening agent on the tooth, sealed it back up and told me to come back in 2 weeks. That was fine. Seems to be protocol. When I went back, he tried unsuccessfully to drill again. No such luck on the other canals. He proceeds to tell me I need my tooth pulled and have a bridge or implant; however, no thanks to him I decide to get a second opinion. This is where I find out that anybody doing a root canal should have a microscope. The first thing to ask is if they have one and do they use it! The long and short of this story is his office and equipment are very antiquated. It's time for him to retire or buy the proper equipment. I was charged $500 for half a root canal and found someone who had the proper equipment and saved my tooth! I wish he had had the decency to tell me to go to someone with a microscope. I would have written a different review about him just for being honest. I now have to get the back one done and for sure won't go to him.... read more

I'm that person who avoids going to the dentist by any means. I grew up having bad experiences and that resulted in me growing a natural fear of the dentist. Now I'm due for a root canal (one of many). I expressed my fears to Dr. Fair and I was literally sweating when it came time for the shot. When I tell you I felt NOTHING I am not exaggerating. Dr. Fair is gentle and patient and definitely has a way of making you feel comfortable. His assistant Nancy was very thorough and informative as well. Now I don't Have a job which if I did have a job the insurance wouldn't Pay for it twice on the same two teeth.now I have to pay For it which is very expensive. I was recommended to Dr Fair by my doctor for a root canal. The night before my appointment with Dr Fair I was a nervous reck and couldn't sleep worrying about the pain and thinking the worse. The day of the procedure Dr Fair told me not to be afraid and that he was in practice for 30 years. After talking to him I was more relaxed. During the procedure I felt no pain. I was an emergency case and was transferred over to Dr. Fair for a root canal. The infection I had was bad and hit very suddenly. The staff at the front desk were polite and helpful with my questions. I was informed fully about what they were going to do. Dr. Fair himself is a very nice man. A bit annoying at times (mainly when he's talking to you and working at the same time). He fixed the problem and I actually fell asleep while he was jack hammering into my skull. I've had some lousy dentists, but he isn't one of them. He always tried to make me feel comfortable and made damn sure I had enough pain killers both during and afterwards. His staff even calls a couple days later to make sure everything is okay. He sadly costs a pretty penny if you don't have health insurance, but it's worth it for good service. read more

Dr. Ronald fair was recommended by my reg dentist. He and his staff made me comfortable right from the start. Dr. did a major surgery on a previously botched (by another dentist) root canal that became infected. During the procedure I was made very comfortable, good music playing and I felt relaxed and confident I was in experienced hands. So I walk into this outdated dental office a few weeks ago for an emergency root canal. As i arrive, I was brought into one of the rooms, and this is when I explained to the dentist that I was feeling a little anxious about the whole experience. I asked him if it would be alright if I took my prescribed anxiety medication, but he said no and assured me that it was going to be okay without. After this conversation, the dentist realized the chair I was in was broken so he brings me to another room. As we get situated in the new room, the dentist sits down and explains that he is not going to preform the root canal because he does not want to be liable if I have a panic attack and is insistent that I go to a place that will put me out. At this point, I am beyond irritated, I am in excruciating pain, and have just been told that I need to go somewhere else after being there for over an hour. So after being humiliated for having anxiety, I grab my things and leave. Fast forward a few weeks, I receive a $200 invoice from Dr. Fairs office! Are you kidding me!? Apparently they charge you for your own inconveniences. So again, I do NOT recommend!! read more

Dr. Fair was ref to me by my dentist of over 10 years. To be honest, I wasn't too excited that I had to visit a different dentist after so many years. However, Dr. Fair and his staff was so great on my visit for a root canal... that I'm highly considering about switching dentist. Their equipment was definitely not outdated. Dr. Fair was amazing at his craft... I didn't feel any pain at all during the entire procedure. He took his time to ensure that everything was done right and pain free. His assistant Nancy was equally amazing. Super friendly. But most importantly, she was very informative and knew her stuff. During the procedure, I overheard some of the conversation between Dr. Fair & Nancy, it's wasn't the typical "get me this", "move this" and "do that"...they were literally working together as a team. This is a root canal tooth factory run by a Dentist that has little regard for patients and works as fast as he can on more than one person. He is an obnoxious little man with dyed hair, a huge white rolex watch that was disjointed when I asked which school he had attended. He said Harvard, and Harvard Dental School then asked where I had gone to school. I mentioned a few Universities. He first said he had graduated from reform school so I said well you have done well. He made an attemp to insult me but backed off his freudian slip. I went to his office where they asked if I had insurance, was able to pay, filled out a long history of questions that were none of his business so i left them blank. I then was shown to a tiny little room to sit and wait for his excellency. An assistant said she had to take an xray...I told her my referring Dentist had done that but she said they relied on their own. She took the xray and said I'll be back. 45 minutes later she made an appearemce and I asked her what is going on here. She said we have an emergency so the Doctor is behind. Later Dr. Faire shows up and whispers he had to work on this man I could see from my cubicle that had 3 moth's to live. He told the man they had to clean the excess filling on his teeth he should wait. I then asked him" have you washed your hands" which he quickly did. He then went on this lament as to whether I should spend money trying to save the tooth. He was of the opinion the cost was not worth it. At that point I said thank you and left. The office is a 3rd rate low maintenance operation that I would stay away from at all cost. This gentleman is trying to make as much money as he can from people who do not have choice. Fortunately, I do so I am going to find a clean office with a competent person, physically and mentally. read more

I saw Dr. Fair today for a root canal. He and his staff are very professional while being friendly and nice. I was only there for not quite an hour, and experienced NO PAIN. (And ten hours later, I still have no pain.) He and his staff are gentle and caring, and they let me know what was being done. They took a couple of x-rays and they show up on a flat screen right there in the treatment room. The equipment they use seems up to date, and his office is clean, bright and cheerful. Dr. Fair has been my endodontist for many years. I was originally referred to him by my primary dentist when I was suffering agonizing jaw pain. The doctor treated me as an emergency patient with a tooth so infected that two appointments in short order were necessary to complete an emergency root canal. Once treatment began, the relief was immediate. I have never had strong teeth and have an extensive history of dental problems. Dr. Fair has performed the bulk of the more involved treatment including multiple root canals. All had excellent results and procedures were always pain free owing to the doctor's expert care. My latest experience was a textbook example of a "three tooth implant." Dr. Fair is certified to perform this difficult and arduous procedure. In my case, it was discovered that one of my sinus cavities was interfering with the procedure and had to be raised, a procedure that included a bone graft and an operation for the actual implants which lasted in excess of three hours. The entire procedure was entirely pain free. Dr. Fair's treatment of his patient's is unparalleled. In fact, during my procedure I was provided with dark glasses and headphones to reduce the stress of the involved operation. I would also note that the above procedure was filmed (with my consent, of course) to be used as an instructional video for dental surgeons in training. The fact that the doctor's work is used as a basis for education is a testimony to his talent. Dr. Fair has taken the fear and., more importantly, the pain out of dental treatment. Dr. Fair recently performed a root canal on my fractured tooth and then I returned for him to insert a post into the tooth which he had to build up in order to save it. He had his doubts as to whether he could do it or not. He managed to save my tooth. He truly is a "master" dentist. Not only is he nice but he truly cares about people.
