Best dental experience ever. I never thought I'd ever be able to write that sentence, as I dislike going to the dentist. Between a sensitive gag reflex and having my tongue cut twice by past dentists, I generally try to avoid dental clinics. Select Dental is refreshingly different. When I called to make my appointment with Elizabeth, she was understanding about my slight guilt about it being over two years since I've had a checkup. She was knowledgeable about my Delta Dental PPO insurance, answering my questions informatively and with ease. On the day of the appointment, after signing in and barely a minute of waiting, I interacted with Tylon, the dental assistant who helped do the x-rays. He had a calm demeanor that helped me relax a bit, and when I mentioned I had a gag reflex, he said he'll try to do his best and suggested I try breathing through my nose and counting down from 100. Furthermore, small things matter: Generally, after each x-ray, dental assistants move the tubehead, and then take out the plastic piece from my mouth; after telling Tylon about my gag reflex, he took out the plastic piece first and then moved the tubehead, shaving off precious seconds of the plastic piece being inside my mouth. Weird to say, but a compliment I want to give: Michelle the dental hygienist quickly became my favorite medical professional. She was gentle, knowledgeable, and had a warm demeanor. Michelle did a periodontal charting, which I somehow have never been offered, and she taught me how gum health checks work. It was super cool of her to explain everything she was doing once I started asking out of curiosity. And Michelle allowed me to hold the dental suction device so I could suck out all the yuckiness from my mouth any time I wanted! I had so much power! Natalie, another dental assistant, did the cleaning and polishing, and I actually felt fine about the procedure for once. I only have unpleasant memories of dental cleanings, so it's nice to have a positive one for once. Finally, Dr. Alireza Mola arrived and we had a good chat. It's not like I've never had a good dentist, but I've never had a dentist whose bedside manner is as good as Dr. Mola's. He was warm and, while completely professional, was friendly and approachable. I was expecting to do two crown replacements, but Dr. Mola said the second one isn't absolutely necessary, so it's up to me whether I want to wait. I saw at least a few other reviewers say that Dr. Mola doesn't try to have patients pay for unnecessary procedures, and I wholeheartedly agree. Before leaving, I sat down with Jannette the office manager, who gave me a clear breakdown of my charges, explained what my insurance covers, and scheduled me for my next appointment. She encouraged me to ask questions - and I asked quite a few, all of which she answered thoroughly. Weeks ago, I was slightly anxious about going to the dentist, so before choosing Select Dental, I created a spreadsheet to determine which of the dozens of top-reviewed dental clinics that accept my insurance I should visit. Select Dental was on the top of my list, and I'm so glad they had an opening for me. At the time, I had read the About Us page for Select Dental and noted, "Our mission is to deliver quality dental care in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We want you, the patient, to feel 'at home' with our dental office family." After just one visit, I can safely say that all the staff members I met actually seem to have taken this mission statement to heart. I will be returning within a month for a crown replacement and cavity fillings, and for once, I'm actually not afraid. Okay, fine, maybe a tiny bit afraid, but less so than I've ever been for a follow-up dental appointment. And that makes me happy enough. read more

In the Yelp pictures there are only pics of the newer renovated side of the office. When I went, the other half of the building was used and it is much more outdated. There are no rooms, just a wide hallway with "walls"/barriers dividing each section. Especially during COVID, I didn't feel comfortable having my mask off, mouth all open while people are walking past and other patients are being worked on within the same area. I honestly went because the of how nice the pictures of the office were, but was shocked going in. The staff (front and back) were very nice. The technician who did my x-rays however, though nice did not look like she knew what she was doing. She took a ton of pictures and it seemed way more than the normal full x-ray sets that I have done in the past. It honestly felt like she was retaking them because the pictures were not turning out well. And I was right- I had asked to be emailed pictures of my x-ray and it looked blurry.. also confirmed by a new dentist that I went to. The dentist told me that I had to replace previously done fillings and also a new cavity. I don't mind doing this, but I listened to my gut feeling and went to a different office. At the different office, they first noted that the x-rays were really blurry and it's hard to diagnose. They were generous enough to take a few pictures of my problem areas. They were correct that I had to replace my old fillings, however I did NOT have a new cavity to be filled. I'm not sure if this was just an error at Select Dental due to the poor x-rays or if it was a money-making scheme.. either way this is not good. The only positive would be the hygienist- she was sweet and great at the cleaning. read more

Great Dentist, When it comes to dental work and dentist I am little bit chicken to go there, let's just say not comfortable. This is the best dentist I have been to in my life. The staff are professional and kind, and Dr. Moeller is deft with his cleanings and friendly to talk with. I had periodontal disease when I came to see him. My previous dentist never gave any specific advise about how to deal with this or improve it. He did. He's also encouraging instead of judgmental or giving you a guilt trip like other dentists. He cautions about what happens if you don't do something but he understands and is encouraging if you don't meet the hygiene goals for that visit. Yes I know I should floss, but do I need a lecture about it when I visit he dentist? No. I know when I screwed up. This dentist gets it. I came for a wisdom tooth extraction. It's been incredibly painful, so even though I was very anxious I decided to go and get it taken out with local anesthesia. I had high anxiety about the procedure, but Dr. Mola made me feel so so so comfortable. I felt like he actually cared about my wellbeing. Throughout the entire extraction I was crying and freaking out and he would take time to stop and affirm me that I was almost finished and was doing great. Honestly, he was phenomenal. If I ever had to do anything again I would return. He was so very understanding and I'm so happy I decided to come here to get my tooth extracted. My husband wasn't a patient yet and he was was in so much pain and needed one of his back tooth removed and I called select dental to see if they can see my husband no one had answered so I left a voicemail. Got a phone call back less then 30 min and it was Dr. Mola he said the office was closed for the day, but he can refer my husband some where else to get that taken care of asap! So my husband went to that place and got his tooth removed and since then my Husband is a patient at Select dental and so is my daughter and pretty soon when my 3 youngest gets a little big they will also be patients of theirs! Hello so I called dr mola at select dental about some tooth pain I been having come to find out that my root canal broke and the crown also,I had X-rays done sure enough the pain was due to a cracked root canal/tooth and a infection under the tooth this happened about a week ago the same day I called my tooth was pulled infection cleaned he numbed me to the point that I felt absolutely no pain at all during the removal I was wide awake he did an amazing job I will be back highly recommend dr mola great person and doctor. read more

I went for my teeth cleaning and their hygienist Maggie (celia) is just a sweet delight. She is so gentle and kind. I cannot say enough about Dr. Mola and his staff. I came in for a second opinion on an implant and was so impressed with him I switched dentists. He is kind, gentle, honest, and extremely generous. Just one of many examples: he said I needed a mouth guard at night, which I had been told by my former dentist who wanted to charge me $800 for one. Dr. Mola said "if you really want one made for you I can do that and charge you $400, but you'd do just as well picking up one at CRV fo $30." Not only would his have been half the price he told me I didn't really need that!!! His hygienist Maggie/Silia is the most gentle hygienist I have ever had. Dr. Mola took the time to explain alternatives and why they were better for my situation. He told me what he could do and what he could not.
