The "steak and broccoli" was tasty. The lettuce wraps were amazing, it also tasted better than it looks. The Hennessy side car was amazing. By far one of my favorite that I've had. Reason why i didnt give 5 stars was that my friend and I were sitting at the bar waiting for the rest of our party hoping to grab a drink first and the bartender acknowledged everyone but us there. And there werent many people at the bar at all. She even came and grabbed a check from next to us. No greeting nothing. After 15 mins of sitting there she said "are you waiting for a table or do you need a drink?" At this point. No. I dont want anything from you anymore. I love what they've done with the place. Ambiance is impeccable. Food was typical for a Asian Fusion restaurant! However the charges were Unacceptable! All of these supplemental fees increased my bill by $45. I also was never given the option to pick what % gratuity I wanted to pay.. the amount was already included in the bill. Well damn, we almost missed the door. I honestly thought it was a night club, or dance club with the weird neon sign. Can we get something at street level?? Dropped in for an early dinner and after work sesh drinks. This place has a serious Asian woohoo hand me down vibe. It's dark, red, and gentle. Let's start by saying I wasn't feeling good two days after eating this overly fried and overly salted Asian food that you can literally buy from a bag from your local super market... the rock shrimp by the way consists of fried crumbs, barely glazed in sauce. Was in the city today for a Broadway show and made reservations for Sei Less. Upon entering, it's very dark and then you walk up the stairs. Once up the stairs, you definitely felt the Asian inspirations. The decor was very calming, lots of red and black, and nice floral arrangement and artwork, and the lights were dimmed. The music played at a very conversational level. Each entree came with a bowl of white rice. However, that's not mentioned on the menu. The server informed us at the table. We ordered the shrimp lettuce wraps, short rib bao buns, pork fried rice, and vegetable spring rolls. The entrees were Filet Mignon and Broccoli. The filet mignon was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It was smothered in brown garlic sauce and peppers. The next good entree was the Chilean Sea Bass. The white ginger and scallion sauce had a nice flavor and complimented the fish very well. The Sweet and Sour Chicken entree was good, but not great. The short rib bao buns were just OK. The short ribs were tender but needed more seasoning. The vegetable spring rolls were good. No one has ever prepared a bad spring roll. The pork fried rice was average. I like a bit more spice to my food. The most interesting this about this Asian restaurant was that none of wait staff or servers were Asian. I didn't go to the kitchen to see if the chef or other cooking staff were Asian. Prior to making a reservation, I called this place multiple times during their business hours to ask them a question but they never answered. The day of my reservation, I was running a little late (~10-15 minutes) for my 7:30PM reservation because traffic in the city is atrocious no matter the day or time. So I ordered the same entree because I really wanted that dish. Now the food was good. It came out piping hot, but with the AC on full blast, if you don't eat quick, it'll get cold within 10min. I ordered a Lychee martini, which was really good. It was $19. I ordered the filet mignon with broccoli (it came with jasmine rice) and that was $39. Then once I checked in on Yelp, I got a free dessert , so I took the chocolate mousse to go. The bartenders were nice and attentive as I sat at the bar and ate. The valet guy is extremely unprofessional and rude. I parked with my friend and he comes to the window and tells me I have to pay to be in that spot but "I dont look like someone who pays for valet" and I asked what does that even mean... ended up paying the $50 for valet and told him he should have less attitude and be more professional as he represents the restaurant and he continued to argue with me. The sauce provided was a bit thicker than expected, it had a molasses flavor to it. I used the dumpling sauce instead for these. Which brings me to the Shrimp Dumplings - so so good. Fresh. Served in a steamer. There were generous chunks of shrimp filling. So delicious! We got a side of broccoli with brown sauce (it comes with white sauce, so you'll have to specifically ask for the brown sauce) and Rock Shrimp tempura. Both amazing!! The service is not up to par with other restaurants in this price range. Our plates were being removed from the table before we were even done eating.
