Awesome spot!

Came here 4 years ago almost every day for lunch because of the Big Rick Roll. I currently live in California and eat sushi 3-5 times a week spending $30 per roll and always trying new stuff and over all the years this place and specifically Big Rick Roll is by far the best I've ever had. I don't think these reviews about "overpriced" are accurate in anyway and if you think this is expensive come out to Cali then you'll figure out what expensive really is. Overall 5/5 place! I always stop here and get 3 big Rick Maki rolls when I'm in town! Can't believe it took me this long to write a review... love this place and highly recommend the big rick roll! Love the ambiance of this place too great vibes coming in here!

Is this a joke? looks like someone cut a few slices off of a real portion and added it to a basic, mediocre salad plate.

This place gets 5+++ Stars for having the Worst Value in all of North Shore. I ordered $100 worth of sushi. What I received was, by all standards, a joke. Even upon picking up the package itself, you can tell by how heavy it is how much 'content' or 'substance' you are getting. The package weighed about as much as your remote control. How do you charge what you do for a few tiny pieces of plastic-tasting Tuna tataki that is in a giant plate of salad, a salad that looks like it's worth $3, with a few leaves and 2 baby carrots thrown in for good measure? This is an Insult to your customers. My apologies for this direct review, but I don't enjoy being ripped off, and that's not something I'll ever apologize for. The sushi Maki rolls were nearly 50% smaller than most places that I normally order from (those places were unavailable to order from today unfortunately). The taste itself was OK, medium, nothing amazing. The taste of the sushi was more of what you'd expect from a Chinese Buffet that has sushi, rather than a professional Japanese sushi spot. I am sure whoever is reading this review knows what I am talking about with the taste difference between these two such places. So how do you manage to charge top-notch prices for 50% smaller potions than some of your competitors, and with sushi that's OK tasting? I could tell from the low-rated reviews that I shouldn't expect much from this place, but the usual place I order from was closed today, so I gave this one a try and hoped that I would be pleasantly surprised. The only thing that surprised me was that I ate $100 worth of sushi by myself and was still hungry. How is that even possible? That has never happened before. I would have sushi for 2 days worth if I ordered $100 worth from a higher quality restaurant which I usually order from. If you are dying for sushi and no other place is open, this place will suffice. If you want VALUE because money doesn't grow on trees, then look for other places.

Miso soup...

So I have ordered from here in the past & wasnt in love, but after reading reviews on Yelp I decided t try them again (plus the bf was out & he hates Thai so I figured might as well take advantage), Was tol 30-45 mins on the phone & the food was there in 15 minutes, right away I was excited, like WOO HOO Fast delivery... To start the Miso soup was just horrible (Im not a huge Miso fan but I have had much better) Thankfully I asked for Extra Peanut Sauce because most of the items needed it. We ordered: Veggie Tempua Appetizer - If sharing you might want to order 2. There was 1 Onion, 1 Broccoli - 2 little mushrooms... Wasnt that greasy, but the veggies really had no flavor (where p'nut sauce comes in), it was good, just wish we had more. Scallion/Ginger Shrimp - Now I have had this before at other locations & its my absolute Fave, maybe Im comparing too much but this was Wonderfully spicy just had a weird almost tomatoey taste... Great veggies & tons of shrimp - just couldnt get over the weird taste. Chicken Pad Thai - The chicken in it was great, cooked well, not dried out like most places, just the noodles were wet which is good, but the sauce was tasteless. Shrimp Spring Roll - Love them they are my fave, just not from here... They were crammed in a small container & when we tried to remove them, they were all stuck together causing all the rice paper to tear on all of them... Was it decent - Yeah... Would I order from there again, No... Its unfortunate, because they were there in 15 minutes & have a very extensive menu... Just doesnt seem to be worth the lack of flavor that I seem to want!!

Sei Bar Maki- not worth the price, better off

Ordered the Sei Bar Maki. This is not worth the price. I would at least think it came with 6 pieces. Lacking flavor Cheap with the sausauce

Sushi

Very disappointing portion sizes - the smallest I've ever seen. I even went back because I thought they forgot something but as soon as I got there he literally handed the bag back to me and assured me that two small makis are worth $20. This meal total was $50 and it didn't even feed one of us.

The rolls were a greasy but had good flavor. I ordered a small which came with 2 thin rolls. The pad Thai, average size portion, came piping hot. The tofu was not crispy but rather very wet. I was very disappointed with lack of flavor. I ordered it medium spicy, and not only is it not spicy but it has no flavor. Had to season it myself with sauces I had at home. Overall highly disappointed with pad Thai! Spicy Tekka Makki- acceptable Delivery was prompt

I just received the best costumer service! I had placed a delivery order from Sei bar. I had ordered spider maki, shrimp tempura, avocado salad and edamame and the grand total came out to $30. When they delivered the order they had forgotten the edamame. I called back & told them (I didn't yell or fuss or fight, like other people do) I just simply spoke to them about it & I'm 10 mins I had 2 orders of edamame delivered to my house. The people at Sei bar definitely care about their customers.

Cute space, but forgettable sushi. Crab rangoon was really good, but really, you can't go wrong with fried cream cheese.

Came to Boston for a work trip and really wanted to eat something light and healthier. I loved it…read moreso much I came back twice! I came during lunchtime on a Monday. It was adequately busy but still had seats open. The lunch menu is very affordable! If you can, I'd highly recommend going for lunch instead of dinner. Service was really quick! Received my meal in like 5-7 mins after ordering. Fish was super fresh and I really liked the different textures in the Hoseki Don. I also added in negitoro. They gave me a big clump of it! The second time I went back, I ordered take out so I could eat it at the airport for dinner. I ordered the Sake Maguro Hamachi don, added ikura and negitoro. Again, so impressed with the quality of the fish and the size of it. They didn't skimp out and really enjoyed the thickness of the sashimi despite it only being 3 pieces. It was a very satiating bowl. Cant wait to come back next time again!

If I could give Lucky Tiger more than five stars I absolutely would…read more From the moment we checked in to the moment we reluctantly checked out hours later this experience was nothing short of amazing. Huge shoutout to Eduardo, the manager, who went above and beyond to make our sisters holiday outing feel special and intentional, and to our server Paulina, who was attentive, warm, and truly wanted everything to be perfect. And it was. Let's talk ambiance first because whew. Chic. Stylish. Aesthetic on aesthetic. Even the walk to the bathroom felt curated. Ladies... the mirror alone deserves a moment. Full body selfie approved. Now the drinks. The mocktail I had was SO good. Balanced, flavorful, refreshing. I like a mocktail that has flavor and layers without being super sweet. The apps thoughhhhhh! They deserve their own paragraph because baby... The crab rangoon was TO DIE FOR. That old school wrap dough situation? I have been hunting for that exact texture and flavor forever. My fave restaurant switched dough and I haven't had a good Rangoon since then until now. It was crispy, nostalgic, and perfect. The fried egg rolls? Delicious. The pickled cucumbers? Bright and refreshing and er literally ate every drop, lol. But the WINNER... those fall off the bone ribs. I might have made a sound when I bit into them. Cooked to perfection. A full blown flavor party in my mouth. The scallion pancakes were the only thing that did not hit for me. The dough was thicker and heavier than I prefer. I love mine light and airy like traditional scallion pancakes. If they leaned that way I would have been obsessed. Our main courses... baybeeee The Dan Dan noodles... I did not even get a bite. I went to ask my sister for a taste and they were GONE. All of them. That says everything. My other sister loved the dumplings and even more that they fried them for her instead of serving them traditionally. And the sauce with those dumplings... Let me tell you about the sauce. I am OBSESSED. I took some home and Eduardo generously gave me more to take. That is top tier service and an at home sauce party, lol. My fried house rice was excellent. The mix of veggies and flavors was perfection. With everything else we ordered I could not even finish it. And then... dessert. Eduardo and Paulina surprised us with a complimentary cheesecake that was so light and decadent, topped with fruit and homemade whipped cream. Next time I am absolutely saving space for that. The customer service was truly top tier. The decor, the food, the staff, the background music. Everything PERFECT. My sisters and I sat for hours. We laughed. We ate. We shared emotions. We were present. That alone tells you how comfortable and welcoming this space is. I would go back today. I cannot wait to bring my husband and some of my fellow foodies. Yelp Elite gang... this place is officially five star approved. GOO!

Trendy downtempo/chill-out music, showy decor, and a clean modern appearance, yet there were only two other patrons on a Saturday evening. But the food is where the rubber meets the road, and the food here was mediocre. Ordered the sushi bites and tuna tacos and everything was slathered in sauces that were over-flavored and not prepared with any sort of light touch. The place is trying hard to be hip, trendy, and fancy, but is somehow out of touch with that subtle X-factor that makes a restaurant stand out. The kicker was that I got food poisoning within an hour of eating. Maybe the tiger was lucky, but I was not so lucky.

XO Seafood Udon: The restaurant specifically labeled it "wok-tossed," and it truly had a wonderful wok-hei鑊氣 (wok aroma), with an irresistible fragrance as soon as it arrived at the table. The XO sauce was extremely rich, sweet and umami, and the udon noodles were soft on the outside and bouncy on the inside; the sauce was glossy, smooth, but not greasy, allowing it to coat the noodles evenly and infuse them with flavor. The shrimp, squid, and scallops were all fresh and large, making for a very satisfying meal. The shrimp, in particular, were coated with a thin layer of starch before being pan-fried, adding layers of texture and locking in the juices. This plate removed the scallions and onions to suit my taste, and if you like spicy food, adding a little chili oil would greatly enhance the flavor. The restaurant had an elegant and refined ambiance, and the service was attentive, making it a very relaxing place.

WOW! An awesome experience!!! I went here for my birthday…read morewith my parents and boyfriend, and this had been on my want to go list for years, and I am so glad I can finally cross it off! When I made the reservation online I put that the occasion it was for was my birthday- I notice that most restaurants don't pay attention to this on OpenTable, but Fuji definitely did! We were seated quickly and with no issue at all, despite it being pretty crowded. The vibe was intimate and classy- a great spot for date night, or for dinner with your parents. At our table was a card (in the pictures) which was such a nice touch and was a great start to the meal. Our waitress was awesome, and it seemed like there was a floor manager too that was making sure everyone was happy. It felt like the staff truly cared and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and experience. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and was very helpful with the menu. Speaking of the menu, I was very pleased to see the amount of vegetarian dishes! You don't see that often at Japanese restaurants! For our appetizers we got the lobster Rangoon and spicy edamame. Technically the tofu is an app but you would never guess that from the portion size. The edamame were outstanding! They were spicy as expected and were so tasty. We demolished the whole bowl. The Rangoons were also amazing- the chunks of lobster were divine. I myself love lobster and crab Rangoons, so a combo?! Amazing. Both the edamame and lobster Rangoons are can't misses. For our entrees/ mains we got the crispy soy noodles, miss Waldorf roll, sweet potato roll, tofu, and fried rice. The miss Waldorf roll is amazing, and I can not wait to go back and get more sushi. Truly the best sushi I have had in boston. There are other upscale sushi restaurants I have been to that charge a pretty penny but taste like grocery store sushi. Fuji is not one of those- it was truly exceptional sushi. The sweet potato roll was also delicious! I am very picky about my sweet potato rolls and had one that I have dreamt about since I had it in 2022. I have finally found a sweet potato roll that matches my standards. The crispy soy noodles were also amazing! They reminded e of one of my favorite restaurants when I was a kid and it filled me with such joy to eat something with that flavor. The serving size was pretty big too, and they were not shy on the shrimp! Note though, they were a tad oily (I added a little bit of soy sauce to balance it out). The fried rice was also very good and tasted like a good bowl of comfort fried rice. My parents ate it with the tofu and liked it! The only dish I would want some change in is the tofu- it wasn't bad but compared to the other dishes it definitely lacked the flavor punch you get in the rest of the dishes. The sauce was okay with it. After dinner our waitress brought a slice of vanilla crepe cake and ice cream! This was such a nice touch and it was SO good!!!!! It was the first time I ever had crepe cake but I loved it! I'm not sure if they have a dessert menu or not (we weren't asked if we wanted to see one) but I would love to go back and get that cake again! Overall I am beyond happy that I picked this spot for my birthday- I had an amazing experience and amazing food. Will definitely be back!
