Great variety and selection - this location is close to the HQ or main manufacturing plant - so its no surprise. Candies seemed unusually fresh and they had great selection compared to other stores across they bay. Apricot and a few other varieties were not available due to covid and some sort of constraint. Was good to see them available once again. Free samples came in a plastic bag - everybody all of a sudden is a germ freak. Parking lot was huge as this is in the strip mall. Was aiming to go to the main bigger place down the road that has the same street name as part of the address. Not sure if that is open at all during these times but am eager to one day visit.

Loved the chocolates but received an awful service!

*Review of service by a specific curly haired/pink masked wearing server/attendant*. NOT a review of the place nor the quality of the product nor the other servers/attendants at this place! I received a So-So service at this location. This specific attendant does not seem to be enjoying her work. First off, she was not friendly and accommodating at all and given that it is Valentine's Day shopping, you would think she would be a little friendly and into the spirit, NO, grumpy and even missed me completely when I was even next in Line. And even mentioned that the heart boxes were an extra charge, I don't care, if it is for my mom and my husband, it is worth any price. You should be more customer focused and friendly since you are selling chocolates!!! The other attendants were happily offering their customers a taste of their chocolate of choice but this specific server pointed me to the attendant that was offering brittle and Bordeaux only. Other places would offer your chocolate of choice for a sample. Horrible!!!!

I went to buy chocolates for my friends and there was no line and the service was great. They bagged my candy individually like I asked and I was served with a smile with the chocolate of my choice as a treat in the end.

    Candy!

The woman working behind the counter was really friendly, while I was trying to figure out which box of chocolate to get my wife. As I looked over the candy, she offered me a piece. How could I say no to that? She was really nice and helpful. I finally picked my box for my wife and a little walnut Carmel candy bar for myself. She also gave me a small sample of a new candy they are now selling. I think it had some kind of coffee in it but the wrappers are long gone and there is no evidence of it around. I must have liked it!!! This location is nice and has plenty of parking. I was able to get in and out quickly plus a few free samples make everything much better. On my next trip I can get a box of just the candies my wife likes. Apparently she likes the marshmallow covered in chocolate. Of course, she ate it without showing me a visual. I am not worried because I know when I come here they will hook me up with the right one.

We came on a Saturday around 7pm and there was no line but the place was lively, we got lucky and didn't have to wait, probably because most people were still at dinner. Fork ordered: Tiramisu and a latte The latte was good. Nothing to get excited over, but well made. The tiramisu is a standout. It has this nice crunchy chocolate shell on the outside with a smooth, creamy center and just the right hint of coffee. As a tiramisu fiend, this is one I'd absolutely come back for. Spoon ordered: French flan I don't usually go for flan, but this one is different!!! I do absolutely love the custard layer in a fruit tart, so imagine that with a firmer texture and a richer vanilla flavor. It sits in this perfectly thin, almost hidden pie-like crust. It's honestly divine and highly recommended. Before we leave, we typically get a treat for the next morning to have with our chai. I love the banana bread and Fork goes for the croissant. Overall, such a charming spot for dessert and coffee, especially if you can grab a table outside.

If you're unsure of which flavor to get, there is no limit to how many flavors you can try. My personal favorite is the Strawberry Coconut Water Sherbet. Light and creamy, lots of strawberry and coconut flavor, and It's dairy free. The customer service is always great and friendly. Their attention to detail for allergies is top tier. In store they also use a new scoop, wash their hands and even get a fresh scoop from a new pint to avoid cross contamination. It does get busy at times, but it's worth the wait. Trying new flavors is an experience in itself. If you don't feel like waiting in line, you can always go in and just get a pint from the available flavors in the freezer by the door. Nonetheless, it's always a good time at Salt & Straw.

The texture is incredibly creamy, which balances out the bold, unique flavors perfectly. I tried the Pot of Gold and the Freckled Mint. Both were delicious and well-crafted. I've visited both the Burlingame and Hayes Valley locations--be prepared that there isn't really seating at either, but the Burlingame spot has a very hip, high-energy atmosphere. The Highlights: * Staff: Incredibly patient and friendly (crucial when you're trying to decide between wild flavors!). * Dietary Friendly: Great vegan options that don't sacrifice creaminess. * Value: Very decent pricing for the quality and creativity you get. If you want ice cream that's "different" and daring, this is your place.

I ordered the Gui Hua Oat Latte, since that sounded pretty unique. There was other drinks that I was interested in trying like some of the matcha drinks, but I rarely see an osmanthus-inspired drink at coffee shops. It is made already with oat milk, so I didn't have to ask for any milk substitutions. I thought it was pretty good in terms of a latte, however, I wish the osmanthus flavor was a little stronger. The barista mentioned that the latte would have more of a floral taste, but it felt pretty faint. Cost was pretty similar to other coffee shops in the area, since it was $8-9 for my drink with oat milk already included. Other than that, would come back if I'm ever back in the area. I like the cozy vibes and fun drinks that they have!

Order via worker standing behind the counter. Cookies: The 66% chocolate chip had big chunks of chocolate which the bitterness helped balance the cookie. The cookies n cream was a little sweet for me but had again pieces of Oreos inside with a nice texture. The chocolate peanut butter again had both chocolate and creamy peanut butter which didn't leave the mouth dry. The honey comb was a unique and different taste with the honeycomb providing a less common sweetness but can be overpowering. The toffee cookie had bits of toffee which again provided texture without being overly sweet. The oatmeal chocolate walnut cookie was my second favorite after the 66% dark cocoa due to the oatmeal again balancing the sweetness of the chocolate with the saltiness of the walnuts. Overall would recommend for a solid cookie with a fair price and the day olds were also extremely cheap for a better quality than you could get at other places.
