This is a mixed review but I think she did an amazing job with my engagement pictures during our first session. The photos came to us fast and were all very good. But for my wedding it was not all good. Leading up to the wedding she did not do much to ask about personalization for the video/photos and was hard to get in touch with little communication. During our wedding day when they got to the venue it was just all very rushed and bossy. She was telling everyone what to do the entire time without even considering which photos I wanted and never asked if there was anything else I wanted to do in the moment. She had the survey months before the wedding but never asked what I wanted other than on the survey. Then second, DO NOT BOOK VIDEOGRAPHY with Abbie bull. Before the wedding there were no questions asked about how I would want my video or if there are particular things I want in the video. There was ZERO personalization in the video. I did not get to choose anything that I wanted for the video. I also had to keep reaching out to her asking when it was going to be done and there was very little communication that was started by her to me. Then when I got the video it had music that sounded generic and did not show what our wedding was actually like at all. There was also no sound other than the generic music in the background. I was so disappointed that I did not post it anywhere and will probably be finding a way to add my own music that I actually want in the background of the video. Overall, she did come and shoot my wedding after having a car wreck with broken ribs and did have personal things happen throughout the time in between. So I am very glad that she did not cancel right before and leave us with no photographer. I do still wish that a lot of things would have gone differently and would not have booked with her if I would have known. I also know I could have been more vocal with my wants throughout the process but I was planning my own wedding and did not know what the process was and assumed that during the day she would consider what I want. Hopefully this helps someone who is planning their big day! Addition: In her contract it does state that the vendor gets all creative outlook and judgement. And basically does state that there is no personalization. I am just warning other brides to pay attention to this and consider this when booking with her. If you want your wedding to be a reflection of you and not just her company then don't book with Abbie Bull. I was reminded very fast after posting this review that it was in the contract so I thought I would update the review to include that.

It felt tantamount to extortion. While I fully support what photographer do and understand that a lot of work goes into the final product, the outright refusal to work together -- or worse accept any type of non-cash payment -- shows that Michael Carr Photography does not care about long term customer care. We would never consider using them again in the future knowing this is the way past clients are treated. (Not to mention, the wedding photos in question put them on the COVER of The Knot at the time. They got their money's worth in referrals alone.) Choose another photographer who works in the modern age and cares about their customer's experience. Lisa and Michael do not. EDIT: Per the response it's clear that customer service is terrible, still. If they wanted to rectify it, they'd reach out. For me, was my response, and after my experience with Pinky Promise, I'm so glad I did. From start to finish the experience is something I would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in doing something like this. I had a couple of friends who had used their services for engagement, wedding, and pin up shoots and the results were amazing, so I knew going in I was in good hands. I started at 11 at one of the photographers home in North Houston with make up. Morgan Horres from Lady Paint Make Up did my make up, and she did an amazing job. I've had my make up done professionally a couple of times, but this was by far my favorite. Barbara did my hair which we pinned up in big curls due to the length of my hair and the heat. She completely was able to capture the whole moment of the pin up style I was looking for. The actual shoot was done near Conroe at a mechanic shop with older cards and hot rods, which I loved, because I am a sucker for classic cars. Working with Cristina made me feel completely at ease and comfortable in front of the camera. The shoot was flirty, sexy, and a definite confidence booster. They were able to capture playful moments, and some serious ones. I was able to work in some lingerie, some super cute pin up outfits, and some other very cool shots. After viewing the finished product, I can say I was very happy with the process. This isn't something they do every weekend, but they did offer it as a mini session, and do them on a regular basis with other clients. I did like that they spaced everyone out enough so that there were not 5 people watching you taking photos, which make it that much more special. Definately a once in a lifetime experience that I will walk away from with some really great keepsakes for myself, so that one day I can look back on and remember what I looked like 25 years ago, and all done for me.
