I have never been disappointed: it is creamy, vegan (no stomachache!) but does not taste vegan, and savory enough to not feel too indulgent. Hidden inside Chelsea market this is easily a hidden gem that should earn legendary status for their soft serve sundae. Gluten free, vegan and all sesame? That doesn't sound good or does it? Well this is easily the best soft serve I've ever tasted in my life. It's creamy, tasty, addictive to the very last bite and will be mentioned to my friends and family if they ever visit New York. I got the swirl which is a mix of original sesame, black sesame with a drizzle of black sesame chocolate and a wonderful addition of some tahini. Unforgettable experience! Ran back to Seed + Mill the second I heard they brought back their BLACK SESAME vegan soft serve and omg... this might honestly be my favorite flavor they've done yet. I always stop by whenever I'm at Chelsea Market for their tahini soft serve, and they're currently serving a black sesame flavor until the end of May. ＊Black Sesame Tahini Soft Serve $8.5 Their soft serve is made with oat milk and tahini, topped with halva crumbles, and you can ask for extra drizzles for FREE. I went with black sesame and tahini sauce because there's no such thing as too much black sesame for me. It was nutty, creamy, and not overly sweet at all. The cup looked small, but there were halva crumbles on top AND hidden throughout the bottom. Every bite had that sweet sesame crunch. Definitely not one I'd want to share hehe. Absolutely delicious. I had bad timing. I waited to finish my pizza before walking over, at which time the soft serve machine broke down. I ended up waiting 20 minutes or so. Well worth the wait. Very unique flavor that doesn't rely just on being unique. Taste good as well. Pricey at first glance but compared to other places in the area and the uniqueness, well worth it. Oh my gosh AMAZING. The flavors of the cakes were all so insanely delicious. They provided samples of literally everything too for you to try. My favorites were chocolate & orange, white chocolate and lemon, and cinnamon. I will definitely be coming back!!! Really liked the sundae. The tahini drizzle was too much for me. The tahini flavor mixed with black sesame for the soft serve was delicious though. The pit the cinnamon halva on top because the normal one has peanuts fyi. Service was good. read more

I'm a huge black sesame girly, so I was excited to try tahini soft serve! I ordered the original and matcha sundae, which includes halva bits and your choice of drizzle. I couldn't taste much matcha, but the tahini was great! It might be a bit of an acquired taste and has a pretty strong flavor, but I really enjoyed it. While it's small, it's quite dense and filling. I had actually left Chelsea Market already but I walked by the window and saw the sign for a tahini soft serve, and immediately went back in to get it. I'm a huge sesame lover and this ice cream did not disappoint. They had two flavors of soft serve, white or black sesame, but you could also get a swirl. I brought someone here who has never tried their soft serve before, and she had her reservations over whether she would like tahini soft serve- but she was pleasantly surprised and wants to bring her whole family now. The tahini sundae and the sea salt chocolate halvah were both so good! I fell in love with the tahini soft serve and ended up buying some of the chocolate tahini sauce it came with to take home. The sundae is not only topped with halvah but also has a generous amount at the bottom so that you get to enjoy it throughout. It's so rich but just the right amount of sweet + savory. Lactose intolerant friends and vegans rejoice! Seed + Mill and their oat milk tahini soft serve is one of the best ways to curb a sweet tooth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's definitely my favorite stall in Chelsea Market but can easily be missed with how crowded it can get.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you've never heard of halva, it's almost like a thick crumbly paste made with tahini and it's delicious. It melts in your mouth and provides the perfect texture to accompany the oat milk soft serve and black sesame/tahini drizzle. There's halva crumbles on the top and bottom of the cup so there's plenty to get a good taste of it. The owners are really sweet and will usually let you sample both the chocolate and vanilla soft serves. The sundae is ~$8 which is a bit pricey, but I always share it because it's really decadent and I feel like you get a ton of toppings with it. The service here is everything. If you like tahini, rush over for a tahini oat milk sundae with halva crumbles. Be brave. You will love it. And if halva is your thing, try an artisanal flavor or two. Came in through the High Line exit into the Chelsea Market. Needed a little sweet treat after my walk! It's located towards the middle of the market and inside one of the plaza esq areas. Black And White Sesame - Really glad I got a mix and could taste both flavors! The black sesame was my favorite though. It comes with a little peanut butter crumble on the side and what seemed like toffee or caramel on the bottom. One cup was 8.70. A little steep but I'm chalking it up to being in Manhattan and that it's speciality ice cream. For seating, there's open tables right next to the establishment. A place that has vegan stuff from soft serves to Halwas. There are a lot of options for halwas in terms of flavor. Honestly, I didn't like any of them just because it tasted very bland. The small stand sells mostly halva as you can see from their beautiful display of many unique flavors. I'm not an expert on halva, but I do know a thing or two about a good ice cream. And Seed + Mill's ice cream sundae is top notch. It's a small storefront in Chelsea Market. When we went, there were plenty of lines for nearby restaurants, but no wait for this spot. My friend and I each got the sundae, which was a good choice because you definitely do not want to share! The sundae has a vegan tahini soft serve base with a good amount of halva and topped with black sesame and sesame drizzle. It was so nutty and delicious. The price is more than worth it. It can be a little hard to eat as it's topped up, so I suggest finding a nearby corner and just standing to devour. You'll be finished pretty fast, trust me. read more

Seed + Mill is founded by three women: Lisa Mendelson from Israel, Monica Molenaar from NYC and Rachel Simons from Australia. Lisa was reminded on a trip to her native Israel of the tahini and halva she had been unable to find in New York. She packed a suitcase full of her beloved sesame treats to bring back to the United States and it was through sharing this halva and tahini supply with Monica and Rachel that the concept for Seed + Mill was born. After opening in January 2016, Seed + Mill has received a lot of positive reviews in The New York Times, Bloomberg, Grubstreet, Tasting Table, Epicurious and Martha Stewart, amongst others. In 2017 their goat milk tahini ice-cream won a StarChefs NY Rising Star Award. Seed + Mill has recently opened two additional sesame carts in Whole Foods Bryant Park and Whole Foods Closter.
