Didn't love their vegan Tahini & Black Sesame Soft Serve. It was fine, but nothing all that special to me. Definitely did not enjoy the accompanying halva topping that they gave me. Tasted like a wet sandy raw cookie dough. Not a fan.
Ran back to Seed + Mill the second I heard they brought back their BLACK SESAME vegan soft serve and omg... this might honestly be my favorite flavor they've done yet. I always stop by whenever I'm at Chelsea Market for their tahini soft serve, and they're currently serving a black sesame flavor until the end of May. ＊Black Sesame Tahini Soft Serve $8.5 Their soft serve is made with oat milk and tahini, topped with halva crumbles, and you can ask for extra drizzles for FREE. I went with black sesame and tahini sauce because there's no such thing as too much black sesame for me. It was nutty, creamy, and not overly sweet at all. The cup looked small, but there were halva crumbles on top AND hidden throughout the bottom. Every bite had that sweet sesame crunch. Definitely not one I'd want to share hehe. Their halva is my favorite and I always keep some at home. The pistachio flavor is so good with yogurt.

I ordered the sesame sundae which is soft serve topped with drizzle of tahini and crumbled halva. Super delicious and it was perfect for the hot weather. Staff were super friendly and answered so many of my questions. Since it's located in the food court, youll have to find your own seating/table.
I was really happy to find a place that makes these types of sesame-based desserts, it's definitely something different from the usual sweets. After eating around Chelsea Market, this is a great spot to finish your visit. The tahini soft serve and halva flavors are unique, rich, and not overly sweet, which I really liked. It's a small stand but worth stopping by if you want to try something new.
Excellent soft serve ice cream in unique flavors, vegan to boot! I don't care about the vegan, but when it's this good I'll take it. The black sesame soft serve with halva crunch and peanut butter drizzle was excellent, can't wait to have it again!
Really liked the sundae. The tahini drizzle was too much for me. The tahini flavor mixed with black sesame for the soft serve was delicious though. The pit the cinnamon halva on top because the normal one has peanuts fyi. Service was good.
Oh my gosh AMAZING. The flavors of the cakes were all so insanely delicious. They provided samples of literally everything too for you to try. My favorites were chocolate & orange, white chocolate and lemon, and cinnamon. I will definitely be coming back!!! The soft serve is so yummy too but the machine wasn't working after I got a sample so I couldn't get a full thing. But that's OK. I will definitely be coming back!!!!!!
I'm a huge black sesame girly, so I was excited to try tahini soft serve! I ordered the original and matcha sundae, which includes halva bits and your choice of drizzle. I couldn't taste much matcha, but the tahini was great! It might be a bit of an acquired taste and has a pretty strong flavor, but I really enjoyed it. While it's small, it's quite dense and filling. The halva bits added some really nice texture.
I had actually left Chelsea Market already but I walked by the window and saw the sign for a tahini soft serve, and immediately went back in to get it. I'm a huge sesame lover and this ice cream did not disappoint. They had two flavors of soft serve, white or black sesame, but you could also get a swirl. Both flavors were super yummy and had that nutty sesame flavor. The tahini and halva toppings were perfect, and it wasn't extremely sweet. I was also surprised to learn that it's vegan, I totally couldn't tell! One of my favorite ice creams I've had

Ordered the sundae and it was fantastic! Creamy and delicious with halva as a base and topping gave it a little crunch. Highly recommend giving this place a try! It was super busy as it was a Saturday and we only got to sample one flavor of the halva but were told that if you go during the week you're able to sample more flavors.
A lovely little stand in Chelsea Market that specializes in Halva. I decided to try their sundae with their seasonal swirl of black sesame and pumpkin sesame ice creams. It came with crumbled halva and drizzles of black sesame and tahini. The ice cream was smooth and nutty and you can taste all the elements of the pumpkin and sesame. This is a perfect fall dessert to end a meal at Chelsea market!
Ohh I have been sleeping on this place. I'm not a huge halva fan, but wanted to try the ice cream here and I'm so glad I did. The black sesame and chai swirl sundae was life-changing. The halva topping is incred. Love that they let you sample everything, too.

I dream of the tahini soft serve from Seed + Mill; it is my ideal dessert and one of the things I look forward to most when I visit New York. I have never been disappointed: it is creamy, vegan (no stomachache!) but does not taste vegan, and savory enough to not feel too indulgent. The texture of the soft serve is an absolute dream, the drizzle adds even more sesame flavor, and the halva is a perfect contrast of texture to bring the sundae to the next level. Service is speedy, and it is a great treat to enjoy in the bustle of Chelsea Market. read more
Hidden inside Chelsea market this is easily a hidden gem that should earn legendary status for their soft serve sundae. Gluten free, vegan and all sesame? That doesn't sound good or does it? Well this is easily the best soft serve I've ever tasted in my life. It's creamy, tasty, addictive to the very last bite and will be mentioned to my friends and family if they ever visit New York. I got the swirl which is a mix of original sesame, black sesame with a drizzle of black sesame chocolate and a wonderful addition of some tahini. Unforgettable experience! The staff is also super nice and patient explaining the concept and letting me try some samples. Seating is quite limited so you might have to eat standing outside. read more

Ordered the sundae and it was fantastic! Creamy and delicious with halva as a base and topping gave it a little crunch. Highly recommend giving this place a try! It was super busy as it was a Saturday and we only got to sample one flavor of the halva but were told that if you go during the week you're able to sample more flavors. read more

I brought someone here who has never tried their soft serve before, and she had her reservations over whether she would like tahini soft serve- but she was pleasantly surprised and wants to bring her whole family now. Both gluten free and dairy free- you don't need lactaid for this dessert. I opted for the chocolate sauce on top and really glad I did. We visit Seed and Mill whenever we visit Chelsea Market in NYC. There are so many flavors of halva to choose from and taste testing is allowed and encouraged. Their halva is some of the best we had ever had. The halva is all Kosher, gluten, vegan, all natural and palm oil free. Many different size options are avaiable. They also have tahini. The tahini sundae and the sea salt chocolate halvah were both so good! I fell in love with the tahini soft serve and ended up buying some of the chocolate tahini sauce it came with to take home. The sundae is not only topped with halvah but also has a generous amount at the bottom so that you get to enjoy it throughout. It's so rich but just the right amount of sweet + savory. I would absolutely come back to have this again! I love that they have such a simple, straightforward menu. Good quality soft serve. This tahini soft serve had a unique flavor. It has that hint of sesame but also a rich, creamy taste as well. The taste of it probably isn't for everyone but I kind of enjoyed it. The common flavors of typical ice cream and soft serve will start to blend together and it gets hard to find a unique soft serve, but this shop delivers! They have other exciting tahini/sesame flavored desserts as well, and samples to try them out too. Their unique flavors and options are exciting and they deliver it well, with friendly and efficient service. Located inside Chelsea Market, this dessert spot was worth a visit for their unique tahini soft serve. Plus the atmosphere in the market is also a vibe. read more

SERVICE - located inside Chelsea market - blocks of halva on display for purchase by the pound - worker was helpful in providing recommendations on his favorite flavors and enjoyed chatting with customers MENU - sesame paste and desserts - slightly pricey FOOD - tahini soft serve sundae (9/10): this was the main reason I wanted to go to seed + mill in the summer. It is a small portion which is the only reason I would not give it a 10/10. Otherwise, if you are a fan of the bitterness of tahini, this is a fantastic dessert. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! Lactose intolerant friends and vegans rejoice! Seed + Mill and their oat milk tahini soft serve is one of the best ways to curb a sweet tooth. It's definitely my favorite stall in Chelsea Market but can easily be missed with how crowded it can get. If you've never heard of halva, it's almost like a thick crumbly paste made with tahini and it's delicious. It melts in your mouth and provides the perfect texture to accompany the oat milk soft serve and black sesame/tahini drizzle. There's halva crumbles on the top and bottom of the cup so there's plenty to get a good taste of it. The owners are really sweet and will usually let you sample both the chocolate and vanilla soft serves. The sundae is ~$8 which is a bit pricey, but I always share it because it's really decadent and I feel like you get a ton of toppings with it. It is very sweet so a few bites is usually enough for me. Definitely give this place a try the next time you're in Chelsea Market! read more
Came in through the High Line exit into the Chelsea Market. Needed a little sweet treat after my walk! It's located towards the middle of the market and inside one of the plaza esq areas. Black And White Sesame - Really glad I got a mix and could taste both flavors! The black sesame was my favorite though. It comes with a little peanut butter crumble on the side and what seemed like toffee or caramel on the bottom. One cup was 8.70. A little steep but I'm chalking it up to being in Manhattan and that it's speciality ice cream. For seating, there's open tables right next to the establishment. If they're all filled you can stand at the pizza joint counter like I did and watch all of the delicious pies being made! read more

They have so many flavors of halva that are reasonably priced by the slice. You can also buy tahini to go. A place that has vegan stuff from soft serves to Halwas. There are a lot of options for halwas in terms of flavor. Honestly, I didn't like any of them just because it tasted very bland. However, the soft serve was pretty good especially being vegan. They serve it with Tahini. This place had a line the whole time mainly for the Tahini Sundaes. read more
I love weird flavors so when I saw a sesame sundae with a tahini drizzle I knew I had to try it. The sundae did not disappoint. Dairy free and not overly sweet, it was refreshing after an hour of walking about Chelsea Market. The tahini sundae is out of this world delicious. I first tried halva in Jerusalem last year and this tasted just like being in the market there to me. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Wish there was a place to sit or stand and eat so that I could savor it even more. I came back two days in a row. It was that good. Dairy free/gluten free deliciousness. read more

We tried their award-winning vegan tahini sundae and boy was it an award winner to my wife and I! It's a clean, quaint spot within Chelsea Market that you must try! I am interested in the consistency of the halva at Seed+Mill. Is their halva gooey or powdery or flaky?
It's definitely not gooey or powdery. I would say it's like a flaky fudge.
