I was living in my contacts (and a crappy pair of backup glasses) which is never a good situation to be in. I brought the frame in to Sally's and they ordered new lenses for me; I was quoted 4 weeks, which is understandable due to supply chain delays these days, but the lenses arrived in just 2 weeks. I was still apprehensive because I've had issues with peripheral distortion in the past (I have a moderately high Rx), but I went in, tried on the glasses, and they were crystal clear! A few days later, I realized that the frame was feeling pretty tight, despite having worn it regularly in an attempt to stretch it a bit, so I called Sally's and scheduled an appointment (same day!) for an adjustment. The optician made several tweaks to the frame and made sure I was comfortable before sending me on my way. Everybody I've interacted with at Sally's has been ridiculously kind and accommodating. It's obvious that this shop is a Charlotte institution because it's been busy every time I've gone in, and seems to have a very loyal and discerning customer base. They only sell the best and are unapologetic about how much that costs (as they should be). If you care about your eyewear and want the highest quality materials, from frames to lenses, Sally's is the only shop you need!

Morgan greeted me very personably as I entered and after I showed her damage to frames, she took them and in less than 15 minutes brought them out to me as good as new. It's located upstairs in a large space decorated like a boutique. They have cute and quirky decorations that really liven the place up. There's a small waiting area where you can watch TV while you wait except that I've never had to wait in the five years I've been coming here. Dr. Dryer does a fantastic job with remembering details about her patient's lives and makes great conversation. She's very friendly and personable throughout the appointment. Her mom Lana is at the front desk and helps with all the paper work and finding frames. They do a great job and explain the purpose of each test performed. I feel lucky to have found such a great eye doctor!

On my first visit with autarchic, they did a thorough eye exam where they explained the purpose of each test. Then they fitted me for contact lenses. I particularly liked how they walked me through putting them in and taking them out multiple times before I left. While i struggled a little at first, their instructions are now second nature and I can insert my contacts quickly on the first try (as long as I dont blink them out first. Since my visit, they helped me order a year supply of contacts over the phone. I left a message and they quickly responded. The shop itself is eclectic and cute with a very boutique feel. You don't ever feel like they are churning customers. The visit was very personalized and relaxed.

So instead of a quick adjustment, I left with broken glasses and the expectation that I should spend more money here to fix a problem they created. That is completely unacceptable. Glasses are not cheap, and I trusted them with mine for a basic service. There was no real apology, no attempt to make it right, and no accountability. Any reputable optical shop should be able to handle something as small as nose pads without destroying your frames. If you value your glasses, I would recommend going somewhere else.

My visit was during the holidays, literally a few days before Christmas so basically took whatever was available. My initial experience walking in, one person at the desk but she was on the phone. She didn't acknowledge me but she's on the phone. The thing that bothered me was, she put the call on hold and walked back to the doctor and still no acknowledgement. Not a I'll be with you shortly or someone will be with you, nothing. After roughly 10 mins of sitting there with an appointment, another lady walked in and immediately acknowledged me and started my process. From this point on, great service. Doctor was great, nurse was amazing who took my initial specs before the doctor came in. I really enjoyed the doc, she gave me some great advice and suggestions. Seeing that I'm not new to Eye Dr, she was able to pull up my old records and supported much of what my prior doc suggested. I'll definitely be back to this location, great staff once the ball started rolling.
