The lanes are poorly taken care of and the staff clearly overworked. Waited 40 minutes for a smoothie. Played 2 games and couldn't get over how uneven the floors were. Reviews here distort the truth in an attempt to preserve this bit of history. It's messed up to lie to boost a business and it's sad but understandable that people are doing this. They want to keep this bit of history alive, but call it what it is. A bowling museum with a few artifacts and a confusingly updated computer scoring system for lanes that aren't playable. The reality is that if you're a bowler with your own equipment, don't waste your time here looking for a fun experience or to improve your game/score. The photos posted are deceptive and give the impression that the lanes are "up to date" but the actual lanes do NOT look like the lanes in the photos (which appear smooth and shiny). The ACTUAL lanes are very rough wood and though they may be "original", they appear to have been shellacked and not even sanded and/or buffed smooth but certainly were NOT oiled (unless it was furniture oil). These lanes are essentially "unplayable" with any new equipment and I would not risk your equipment on them. Now then, if you are looking to be transported back in time (almost back to the Flintstones) to feel what it would feel like to bowl under prehistoric conditions, and you're willing to pay a high price for time-traveling... EVEN THEN these lanes are tired and not what they used to be. It's truly a shame that they updated the computer scoring system but did not install new lanes and take care of them properly. If you roll a straight ball "Fred Flintstone" style and don't really give a s**t, want to pay high prices for booze and food and laugh it off until you get thrown out, this might be the place for you. Why pay the high prices though when you can do that at Riverside Lanes in Mt. Vernon, just a few miles away?? $4 a game (not including shoe rental) and no discounts offered to military, veteran, USBC member, or anything. I bowl fingertip with a newer ball, I threw 2 balls and stopped and left.. it was THAT bad. What a horribly sad experience. If I felt it would help, I would have dropped some change in a hat or something. Riverside Lanes in Mt. Vernon has many better lanes and it's still pretty old, I pay $2.50 a game there. If you're looking for a quality bowling experience close by, head to Riverside Lanes. I would not eat the food here either. Logical choice. There simply is not enough business flow to trust that the food is fresh and worth the high prices they are asking. This COULD be a good place but they would have to update the lane surfaces and get a more reliable staff to handle maintenance and repairs.. and I just don't see that happening with no business flow. The subfloor is questionable too. My young daughter rolled her ball and the entire place shook. They should have updated the subfloor and lanes before they updated the computer scoring system, money poorly spent. I'd rather bowl on good lanes and calculate my score on paper or on a vis-a-vis overhead projector like in the old days. I honestly cannot recommend this place to anyone for any reason. Walk in.. walk around, take a look at things, smile. Notice it isn't busy and it's not going to be, so take your time and check out the atmosphere if you're into that sort of thing. I've had no problem with the service but the lanes are clearly not maintained. All the old shoes and balls are not good quality. All of the balls have an insane amount of scuffs on them. Tonight my ball got completely covered in gunk and scuffs. If you have a custom ball I would not recommend going here. read more

Horrible staff, horrible atmosphere. I dont even know where to begin. This is the sad fact: Saturday night the place was packed because there isnt much to do in Sedro. Sedro deserves better (I love Sedro because there is awesome food within and great people). The bowling alley workers are rude and have NO idea what they are doing, we got ripped off (claimed they didn't have change for a $20?) and the lane we bowled broke several times. No music, lighting sooo bright, no room in between lanes. Dirty, smelly and just wow bad. But back to the sad fact, they are the ONLY GAME IN TOWN. I'd love to buy the place cuz I could run it better in my sleep...no wait in a coma I could operate it at a better standard. BUT and this is a huge wow BUT there is gyro food in a room off from alley and WOW IT IS REALLY GOOD. Quality and yummy. Go get a gyro and boycott the alley. Demand more Sedro! read more

We have stopped by here for gyros and bowling several times and have not been disappointed. Food has been consistently fresh and tasty. Equipment is "vintage," but everything works, and we had fun. read more

Went to sedro bowling center last weekend. Taking the family again this weekend. They have Bodhizafa on tap and the bowling lanes are so retro and cool with a nice make over of the whole establishment while keeping the seventies bowling decor. Beautiful bar made out of wood from the old lanes. Staff and business are new and need time and patience from customers and experience to get established and learn their stations. If you're a patient person you'll have fun regardless. The bowling was super fun. You can drink your beer right down where you sit to bowl. Great atmosphere! And cafe run by owners next door has gyros. What a cool thing to have in sedro and great for other local restaurants too. This will certainly help to revitalize downtown. read more

Our family is so happy for the reopening of this historic space. Beautiful vintage lanes, gorgeous bar made from bowling alley wood, my favorite beer, Bodhizafa, on tap, and lots of locals. The place just opened and has lots of 'new business' bumps to smooth out, and we are looking forward to watching this once again become a community favorite. read more

Great gyros and fun bowling. I had a great time bowling with my friend at the Tuesday teen night.

Lastnight a larger group of friends and myself went to the Fairwheather Lanes in Sedro Woolley. There we 15 of us and we purchased a group package, which was not honored by the employees working we were charge a considerable amount more than the agreed package. We were given three lanes to use, one of which did not work at all!!! The other two were slow and kept getting jammed up. There also a matter of comfort as there is a lack there of. A small plaque heater attached to the wall to heat the entire bowling alley. We were treated rudely, and all of us were greatly disappointed. I would not reccommend this place to anyone ever. If you want your small childeren to catch pnuemonia, and want your wallet raped then this is the place to go. Bottom line go to RiverSide Lanes in Mount Vernon, WA. read more
