Disc golf is sort of like real golf, except you play with frisbee discs, and try to get them in baskets or hit poles, instead of into a hole in the ground. This course is located in the thick of the woods, with 27 holes divided into three 9-hole courses. At the end of each nine you end up at the start again, so you can pick and choose which ones you want to try. Over two days I did all 27 holes and it was super fun! The course is free and unsupervised, with a couple of picnic benches, a couple of outhouses (quite clean) and a tap for water. You have to bring your own discs, and some are for sale in a nearby general store. The trees are dense, and there is a lot of climbing around rocks and roots, especially if you fling your disc in an undesired location. Most times you can't see the basket, which adds to the fun. I did find the paths well maintained, and didn't have too much of a problem with my footing, even when it was raining. When traveling on the ferry over to the island I saw a few people with serious collections of discs, so I think this is quite the destination course. As a beginner, it was fun to spend time outdoors with friends, and for more experienced players there are lots of challenging holes.

Trying to get my camera out in time while still in my car, I got one blurry picture before it scurried off. Grabbing my bag and getting out of my car, I noticed something new to me, a black squirrel. It was on the ground foraging. I took a few pictures and a video and then said hello out loud. It came to attention and started making its way towards me. Eventually, it came to sit on a curb by my car and looked at me, letting me take an up-close picture. After the click it continued on. Exploring the park on foot, I found walkers, runners, foraging gray squirrels, and foraging black squirrels. Walking paths through the trees were gravel and relatively flat near the parking area. Gray squirrels towards the entrance of the park were shelling felled chestnuts and carrying them away. A black squirrel or two ran past with a peanut, not sure from where. Sunlight broke through the canopy of the trees, lighting up the leaves and spots of ground.

I love all the little hidden parks in Bellingham, but Cornwall takes the cake. You don't realize…read morehow expansive this park is until you're in it. There are several different entrances into the park from all surrounding streets. The trails connect all the entrances, but the roads do not connect though. Cornwall park has pickleball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, frisbee golf, a wading fountain, fields to play in, trails to run on AND MORE! Every time I walk my dogs here, I find new trails and features I haven't seen before. It is well maintained and has a ton of parking within the park so you don't have to walk far. I would recommend pulling up a map if you are looking to get to a specific part of the park for the first time!

From there, the trail itself is mostly gravel with some uphill portions. Getting up to the main set of buildings was a workout for me, propelling, and another person pushing me. There are two paths, one gravel and the other semi-paved with concrete ridges. I would not recommend getting up there without help in a wheelchair, but it was certainly possible, and worth it in my opinion. The buildings are super cool. The area is surrounded by nature and mountains. We turned back after getting tired, but will absolutely come back better prepared to see some more stuff.

I went here with a group of people from a social group I am in and really enjoyed it a lot! It's…read morethe grounds where the defunct Nortgern State Hospital was. We went by soke run down buildings, one that was more of a food preparation area and they once grew fruit trees there for the facility. The fruit trees can still be seen and at the time we were here were bearing fruit! We also went to some old barns where livestock was once kept for the hospital. Those buildings were very impressive and a bit creepy. To add to that someone in our group went over some of the experiments that went on here as well as possible mishaps that they pulled up online. That definitely added to the creepy vibe. But still it was a very pleasant stroll as we also was in a nice field and encountered a babbling brook. It was a great outing with great company! I'd love to explore the grounds even more as I have a feeling some of the buildings I didn't get to see.

A really great course to learn different angles with your throws. I don't have trouble finding my discs. Signs are clearly marked for blue and white tees. You can park at the elementary school when school is out. Otherwise it's street parking. It's a fun course, but if you are looking for standard disc golf baskets this isn't your course. Definitely a unique course!

The playground has things to do for all ages and has a soft turf-like floor. There's lots of room for parents to sit and some picnic areas around the playground.

Great if you want to get out maybe play some baseball and boccie ball, have a picnic laze around. Not much to say about it. A quick and relatively easy nine hole walk. It is out of the way so every time I get out there I plan a day around it (which is made easier by all the amenities the park offers).

The course is fairly well labeled and the trails are pretty easy to navigate. I recommend sending someone in your group to be a spotter before your first throw though as it is easy to lose a disc here. This was my wife's first time as well and she loved being out on the trails. The entire course is roughly 1.6 miles and almost entirely par threes: I think there was one par four. Overall I would suggest this to anyone living in Poulsbo who is looking for something fun to do outdoors.

Discovered this park while visiting a friend by the Bothell Senior living condominium. You can also get access to other 2 Parks like the Sammamish River Park through those trails. But the most awesome part was the frisbee course. It is not like other open frisbee golf courses. Trees and plants get in-between you and the basket. But you feel around nature. It gets muddy so be prepared. There's a map at the parking lot but you must pay attention when is the throwing spot. It also has some recommendations on how you should throw the frisbee. Let other parties go through if you are a beginner. That way you won't feel pressure from coming parties ;)
