Our…read moregroup takes annual golf trips across BC, and we understand that each course has its own policies -- but the management at King Links seems to go out of their way to be unnecessarily rude and aggressive. Right from the start, one of our group members was yelled at for briefly driving his golf cart to load up our bags from the car. Instead of calmly informing us of the course policy, the staff chose to escalate the situation with hostility. A simple "Hey, carts aren't allowed there" would have done the trick -- like any reasonable course staff would do. We also had an 11-year-old junior golfer with us -- an experienced and respectful kid who had played with us at another course the day before with no issue. But at King Links, we were repeatedly told "no kids allowed," despite there being no mention of this anywhere on their website. They even went as far as to tell him he couldn't practice putting and to "wait in the car." Really? That's how you treat young golfers and future players? The course itself is poorly maintained, and the pace of play is made worse by a hyper-aggressive marshal zipping around trying to rush players -- even when we had just started our round. After reading other reviews, it's clear this isn't an isolated experience. Whether it's a power trip or something else entirely, the attitude of the management team is unacceptable. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone who values respectful treatment and a relaxed golf experience.

One drawback it has some ragged tee off Matts with no option to use a regular tee. I also love the team of three gentlemen who show up every Wednesday night and seem to have such a great time hacking away at the ball. If you get the chance to get paired up with them, do it. They are hilarious... PAAARRRR!!!! People are very respectful of this little course, and the conditions are usually pretty great. They groupon every now and again and it is 100% worth it!!! Played the Ridge course a few times. Last time they were redoing the cart paths so we started on…read morethe back nine. Too bad as 18 is always a great hole to finish on. Although hole 8 is interesting and challenges you to go for the green off the tee. Played the Canal only once... and didn't finish. Played in a friend's Chilly Willy Tournament. It was snowing when we played in February. Surprised they actually let us play. Fairways and greens had snow although it wasn't frozen. In fact, the course was a little soggy and the mud instantly froze to the irons after every shot. Snow, ice and mud caked in the shoes that had to be kicked out every few holes. Didn't finish since one of our group didn't dress for the conditions (I was fine but I wore 6 layers). Actually saw and eagle sitting on 17. Didn't really get a chance to appreciate the Canal since it was so cold and snowing. But still enjoyed. Look forward to playing in the summer.
